We got a smash with cupcake and ice cream; cupcake - the peanut butter chocolate was dry in my opinion. Cashier was super super super unfriendly like she hates her job.

Ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for my son’s birthday at his school couple days ago. They were so delicious and cute!The school asked for an ingredient list before I took the cupcakes in and when I asked for an ingredient list, everyone at Smallcakes were so accommodating and nice about helping me out.They went above and beyond with everything I needed for my son’s birthday!

If I could give this place a hundred stars, I would. I cannot say enough good things about Smallcakes and their staff. After an off-chance request for a last minute cupcake pull-apart cake, they not only responded quickly and in the affirmative, they came through with flying colors! The Spiderman cake(s) they made for my sons birthday party were absolutely beautiful, exactly what I asked for, and they did me one better. My son was thrilled beyond measure when he saw his cakes. Not only were these cakes beautifully decorated, they tasted fantastic as well and compliments came from all sides from our guests.We made it a tradition to come get a cupcake at Smallcakes after a haircut from the salon next door and always loved and devoured the cupcakes we purchased. I can now add that their custom cakes and the staff that makes them are amazing and I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that asks. Thank you again, Smallcakes!

I bought a Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting and a Vanilla with butter cream frosting. I had the Red Velvet and it was very lite tasting. The cream cheese frosting was perfect. My wife had the Vanilla. I did taste it and it was excellent. The frosting was a perfect butter cream.

This is a great place and a great place to get ice cream. Its a different type of ice cream place

If I could give 10 stars I would! This is the best bakery around! I had a huge order for a work event and mistakenly gave them the wrong date, a week later than what I originally asked for and the team made it possible in the same week! The macarons were very tasty and I will definitely be back for me. Thank you!

Terrible customer service. 4:00 PM, Saturday August 28th. Told my wife off and said she didn’t want to do all the work for our order of 30 cupcakes… St. Charles location is way better! Very disappointed!

Ok place for cupcakes. Nothing special. Cupcakes lack real ingredients...take Peanut butter cupcake for example - it has no real peanut butter in it. Im comparing to Mollys in Chicago. Bases are plain, tops are heavy, lacking much flavor. Will not return. Red velvet may be the only stand out.

Im from TX and wanted to purchase some cupcakes for family in Buffalo Grove. After doing a Google search, I came across Smallcakes and contacted them. Although it was very short notice, they didnt hesitate and ensured my order would be ready on the day requested. My relatives were pleasantly surprised and said the cupcakes were delicious! One day when I can make it out there, I will definitely be going by to try some!

Calling all gluten free friends!!!! I tried a gluten free chocolate cupcake from Smallcakes just now and I’m in chocolate heaven. The cake had perfect texture and the chocolate ganache and buttercream were to die for. I’ve been gf for 11 years and this was one of the best cupcakes I’ve tried so far. I loved that they have both vanilla and chocolate cupcakes to choose from and they can frost it however you choose. Having them right down the street from me is going to be dangerous...

Came right at close because we didn’t know the hours. They were so kind and didn’t mind us being in there. Got 2 cupcakes for free because owner wanted us to try all the flavors. So yummy

Purchased 2 cupcakes as a small gift. Recipient loved the carrot cake and the cupcake that had a buttercream filling. She said they were fresh, frosting was freshly made with high quality ingredients not pasty. Overall, excellent quality. Also, packaged nicely.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon after breakfast next door, and cupcake selection was low and not many options to pick from. Only giving 4 starts because of that, but was amazingly good and tasty. Also wished there was a spot to sit and enjoy inside. Molly’s still has the edge, but great local small joint and we will definitely come back. Probably earlier though and would not wait like we did.

Great service and ice cream. And - duh - cupcakes.The crème brûlée ice cream is my favorite but all the flavors are good. Someone once told me the key to good ice cream is its butterfat content: the more, the merrier. These homemade ice creams seem to be tops with that, which makes them very rich and extremely satisfying.I dont remember their retail names but I bought and each of us tried one of an ice cream sundae (complete with a cherry on top), a peanut butter, and a chocolate with creamy filling inside cupcake. The cake-icing top of each is very heavy and not to every ones liking. But it was to my sons and very much was to mine. (I also love cream cheese frosting, but to me this is great with black coffee.) The cake itself is what I call Midwestern-moist, which we all prefer; once in a while some may like theirs a bit more dry. I dont think that will ever be me.Service is very friendly and down to Earth. Hoping for more flavors but, either way, I cant wait to return.

Ran into this place randomly without much expectation, but wow. Some of the best ice cream I’ve had. Didn’t get a chance to try the cupcakes, but they all looked delicious, and it smells like heaven in there.The guy (assuming he was the owner) was so kind. Definitely will be back.

Lovely little store. Friendly staff. Homemade ice cream was delicious and the cupcakes were amazing. The ‘smash’ which features a generous portion of ice cream with a cupcake inside the cup was a huge hit with my son. We will be back.

Love love these cupcakes! I have tried just about every flavor and my favorites are the wedding cake and pink vanilla. The frosting is a sweet heavier buttercream, which I love!!

Great tasting cupcake. I recommend the smash(?).... the cupcake cut in half with 2 scoops of ice cream in the middle. Its plenty to share.
