Very friendly and helpful people. Eager to order any comics you are following and they stock interesting titles to browse for new discoveries. What else could you ask for in a comic shop?
A quaint little shop run by a friendly lady. Had some great conversation along with finding a couple of books. Im more of a statue buyer but they only had a few in house. I didnt go through the comics on this trip but I will soon. Theres a little gaming product there, too. Lots of board games and tabletop role-playing like D&D and Pathfinder. All in all, drop in and check this place out, youll likely find something you cant live without.
The worst place to buy comics! There are boxes of back issues which looks fun but then the owner marks up the price according to some obscure market value. What you see on back issue covers is not what you pay. Also the back issues are just sitting in boxes uncovered so you pay more for damaged goods. Does not stock any new comics and can only special order marvel. Super lame store. If you have time just go to the Houston area. The hour drive is well worth it to avoid this place.
Dagmar is the best. Such a good collection of comics and books and DVD rentals and magic cards. The owner is absolutely fantastic and one of my favorite people. I cannot stress how wonderful the shop is and the woman that runs and owns it.
Love this place!! Definitely has that mystical hole in the wall feel. Dagmar is a wonderful woman who runs it and we always love having a conversation with her when we come in
Its a cute little shop with a very wide variety of books, movies, and board games. This is so impressive given the limited space they have in the shop, and to top it off the owner is very sweet.
Absolutely love this place! Such a great home town feel with lots of memories inside.
I love this place and have been going here since I first moved to the BCS area in 97. Dagmar and Troy are awesome folks, comic selection is decent, used book section is huge (and dirt cheap), etc. This place is the definition of grass roots & independent. It has heart, just like BCS used to. I highly recommend paying it a visit if you are in the area.
Really nifty place for all friends of the nerdy and a nice chat with the owner. Dagmar is probably among the nicest people out there and is always giving her best to help. Huge collection of books and comics, as well as some more and definitely many less common movies.Great place to find!
Very unassuming on the outside, but the inside is full of top of the line board games, movies, games, and a ton of books. The owner there was super friendly and helpful, and very willing to inform. Will be back!
Love the used book section, Magic products, and comic back issues. You never know what hidden gems youre gonna stumble across. Definitely gonna have to visit this place again.
I love this place. It is a hidden gem. An almost creepy exterior keeps a lot of people away, but those who venture within will find an awesome selection of board games, comics, RPG and Magic supplies, as well as a lot of used books. The lady who runs the place is very kind, and really helpful. Willing to order just about anything if she doesnt have it in stock. She also has a really cool story if you take the time to talk with her.
Absolute gem of a store! The owner was lovely, and their rpg selection was an astonishing mix of newer systems and old favorites I havent seen in years.
Dagmar cares about her customers. Shell go to great lengths to get your favorite comics or games or dice. This place is a hidden gem!
I went here hoping to find some comic book back issues. Most of the collection isn’t priced so he priced them at the register using some site online which took forever. The books were priced at double there value in near mint condition and most were not in great condition. If you are looking for back issues stray away unless you have time and money to waste.
It is worth noting that the store is small but offers a nice place to shop for games. There is also a movie rental area with many of the newer releases at a very affordable rate. My one issue is when it comes to older Magic the Gathering products which some are marked up to eBay and MTG trader prices. The issue I have is that I hope they are selling online as well as local because I cant see anyone just walking in and finding a rare treasure without this store advertising it. But they do exist and I suggest any MTG commander player check out the sealed product.
Dont let the exterior fool you. BCS Books & Comics was where I lived when I was in college. FNM (Friday Night Magic) is fun and the owner keeps the lights on past midnight when the games go long.If your into board games or other table top games, comics, books, or movies; come checkout whats in stock. If she doesnt have it and you can wait, she make an effort to get what your looking for.Im not an employee, just a loyal customer. Please, whatever you do; come check us out! We love new customers; business keeps the lights on!
Being from out of state, I thought this place was charming. I loved the atmosphere and the service. Looking forward to a return trip.
Love this place...Friday Night Magic...Dagmar is awesome.
Wonderful staff, absolutely a place I will come back to.
There are not so many charming and authentic gaming and comics shops left. This is one you will surely want to visit. The atmosphere is unique and the stuff accumulated in its shelves invaluable. A must for the real gamer
I grew up going to this place, and its an irreplaceable part of my childhood. Dagmar is a wonderful person who is always ready with a smile and a good recommendation.
Yes they have books and comics. BUT they have a great selection of games, too. Cataan, Dominion, D&D, etc. Staff knows their stuff.
BCS books and comics is one of the best local comic shops Ive ever been to. Not only is the owner kind and caring, but the selection of movies, books, and curios is deceptively large for such a small shop. I cant recommend this place enough!
Great place to pick up a comic book issue or subscribe to a comic as well as play friday night magic. The movie and anime rental has a good variety of quality choices and the price on them is great! Friday Night Magic continues to disappoint though.
Highly recommend! The owner is super nice and accommodating. Excellent customer service.
Dont let the exterior fool you. This place is a treasure trove of goodies. The employees were knowledgeable and very helpful. Definitely a great spot.
Great place for playing MTG. Love the owner and the atmosphere. Ive never had a bad experience here, even when I loose.
This is a great store! Its packed full of awesome hard to find books and movies. DVD rentals are really cheap and they always have new stuff everytime I go.
Small store that has been here for a long time. Its cramped inside because all of the merchandise thats been there a long time as well. Staff are nice people. I ordered miniatures ships and they got it for me and it arrived on the day as promised. They sell their stuff cheaper than MSRP most of the time. They rent DVDs and sell novels as well. Check them out for old toy figures and such.
Great place.
I just left this spot with my family. What a great experience! the owner (I assume it was the owner) let us open several boxes of dice so we could play with them before we made our decision which we wanted to buy. My daughter loved the anime section and my son was looking through RPG books. What a great find, please shop here and support a local store!
Probably the most friendly and personable comic & game shop in town. Huge selection of fan favorites like Magic the Gathering and D&D. No matter what your looking for to satiate your inner nerd these guys with either have it or will order it for you. These guys are personable, professional, and above all knowledgable!
I walked over to check out comics. I didnt realize it didnt open for another 5 hours. I was sadden. I was about to turn around and walk away and the owner saw me. She told me to come in. They had great comics if all sorts and dice for RPG. Totally recommend this place to everyone.
Nice people. Comic back issues are just stuffed in boxes unbagged. They expect ment prices for books that are bent and dinged. Great game selection. Very helpful.
Havent been yet, but im so glad to see a MTG shop that hosts FNM 3 miles from my house. I know literally zero people in this part of the country and im looking forward to meeting some fellow MTG players! Ill be there Friday!
Very knowledgeable, freindly, and welcoming. Family owned and operated, and when you walk in, they treat you like family.
The B/CS OG comic and game spot. Looks sketch af but the owners are super nice European nerds who have been celebrating geek culture wayyy before it was cool.
I love this little shop so much.
It is the only store in town that sells real strategy games and it sells them at a decent price. Everyone who likes playing board games with friends should check this place out at least once.Their selection can be overwhelming, but the staff (although seemingly disinterested in social interaction) are very helpful.
Friendly staff and excellent choices of table top games, books, and movies.
I love the smell of this place. Something about a Comic store that fills my soul.
Amazing knowledge and so attentive! Amazing card shop!
Tucked away on Texas Ave, this is a gem for table top gamers, comic book collectors, and a room of used and out of print paperbacks. Also good selection of Anime and new release movies.
Really great store with massive selection!
The owner is very, very friendly and helpful! This store has been in Bryan for over two decades.
Friendly workers but pretty small for a collector.
Really friendly atmosphere and great prices
This is my favorite game store in town. They may not have the largest selection of comics, and the store does look kinda seedy from the outside, but they make up for those with oodles of charm, a knowledgeable staff, and good prices. If youre looking for something specific then the cheapest place to find it will likely be the internet. This is the place to go if youve got $40 burning a hole in your pocket and your not sure what youre looking for yet. I find myself making excuses to stop by and browse for a while. Also if youre into tabletop RPGs this is the only store in town that acts like they care about your hobby at all. The sweet lady at the front counter lets you open all of the dice and feel how they roll.Out of their competition:Clockwork smells like sweaty nerd and doesnt give a F about you as a customer if you dont play magic/CCGs.Lytles is somewhat better but you have to get over the rough impression that the owner gives. Their focus is mostly in miniature based wargames like Warhammer 40K, and new/unopened comics. Shes very strict about not letting you preview comic books or graphic novels before you buy.Oddly enough, Hastings is the other good place to go for RPGs and general nerdary. Its always a impersonal big-box type of experience but they normally have a great selection and they run sales that get close to competing with Internet prices.Overall, if your looking for a genuine mom and pop nerd store with a great atmosphere and friendly people, BCS Books and Comics is the best in town!
Wow. I am only in town for a medical visit, but I thought Id hit a local comic shop to destress. And I almost left after looking at the front of the building. But inside is a treasure trove of games at decent prices. There are editions of Ticket to Ride that Ive never seen before and titles both old and new that you couldnt find anywhere but online. The woman running the store gave me the rundown on some RPG games customized to my fases and play style and recommended some board games that are similar. She even let my dog come in out of the sun since I was the only customer. Theres also a Geocache out front! What a great experience!
The only place you can still rent newly released movies when they come out.
My comic, DVD, and game store for years. They always treated me well. Its a must stop for me whenever Im in town.
Huge selection and tons of books. Did not realize they had so many used books in back.
Dont judge a book by its cover. When you go inside you discover a huge selection of board games and dvds!
Movie rentals! Wohooo!
Loved this place
