I went to the Brunswick location to buy a Thule bike rack for my SUV. I was in a very big rush and traveling soon after. I had read the reviews on line that the instructions to put it together were tedious, time consuming and not very helpful. All the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was assisted by Mike. After purchasing the rack, I asked Mike if it was possible to help me install it. He immediately opened the box, laid all the parts in the floor and got to work putting it together on what was one of the hottest days of the summer. The sale was already made and he went above and beyond. I will certainly make it a point to go back. Thank you!

I bought a beautiful Liv hybrid bicycle for myself from Steve and the guys at Gorham Bike & Ski last year. I love, love, love it! With that being said when it was time to get a bigger bike for my son naturally I wanted to call them to see if they had anything for him. I called and talked to Steve who told me he had the perfect bike for him for a steal. We were there 10 minutes later. When we got there it was ready. My son got on it and fell in love with it right away. He was riding an old BMX bike that just wasn’t working for him. The second he got on this Specialized Hotroad he was flying! It made me feel like I should done this earlier! Anyways...the experience and the bike were great...as always! I won’t buy a bike anywhere else. Honestly.

Not so friendly staff. The manager told us that they have a repair policy where by they sell your bike if it is not picked up within in 60 days. Sorry to hear our bike was sold. I am not so happy but I respect their policy. All customers should be aware of this unfortunate policy.Hi Dave, I very much appreciate your response. I fully understand your issue. I would make one other recommendation for your future repair customers. It would be good to give your customers a phone call when the repair is complete. This will also avoid uncomfortable issues.

These guys went above and beyond for me a coupla years ago. After 20 years, my x-c skis (and boots, and poles) all gave up the ghost in March. When a late snow was predicted, I decided to take advantage of end-of-season sales and get geared up in time to get one more ski in. I went to Brunswick Gorham Ski, they didnt have what I needed, but they directed me to the Portland shop, where they had just what I needed. The salesperson said they would mount the bindings and put it on the truck for delivery to Brunswick the next morning. When the Brunswick office opened the next morning, we discovered that Portland had forgotten to put them on the truck. I was really disappointed, as snow had fallen, it looked like the last day to get out, and I didnt have time to both drive to Portland and go skiing on that particular weekday. The gentleman in Brunswick said hed take care of it by noon. He apparently arranged for someone to cover the shop while he went to Portland and picked up my skis, I was able to pick them up at noon, and I got a last lovely sunny afternoon of skiing. THAT is some exemplary customer service!

I love the store! I bought me Trek e-bike there, and they take care of my previously purchased conventional Trek bike, too. I have bought accessories for me and my daughter from them as well. Steve is great! These guys outfit, supply, and maintain our bike patrol fleet and keep us rolling. I have personally purchased three bikes and two sets of skis from these guys! The inventory is good and what they dont have they can get quickly. I have and will continue to call these guys my LBS (local bike shop)and recommend them to anyone looking for great service and great care.

Cant really picture myself going to another shop at this point. The folks here contribute nothing but positive intent and a great attitude to the local ski and cycling communities. The service is prompt and friendly, their inventory is more than ideal without being elite, and theres a real sense of community around this place. Keep it up, friends, you all rock!

By far the most knowledgeable staff about bicycling and skiing that I have ever had the privilege of doing business with. Both Steve and Joses knowledge of both sports is second to none. Whether from my road bike, fat bike or skis, they are pros in understanding my needs. They listen closely to your specific goals and help you to achieve them. I would highly recommend the Gorham Bike and Ski shop in Brunswick to any and all people who want to excel in their given discipline.

I have bought a couple kids bikes and one for my wife at the Brunswick location, as well as serviced my road bike with The Gorham Bike and Ski crew! I received excellent service as well as knowledge about setting up the bikes and Steve had my road bike running top notch and smooth! Jose also did a great job setting my wife up with her new ride! Steve is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things bikes and would recommend the Brunswick location for anything and everything bike!

Steve is a great! Knowledgeable, laid back, and always offers valuable input into all my biking endeavors. Turnaround time on repairs has been great and pricing seems fair to me. He took care of a manufacturer warranty for me and I had to do nothing. He keeps me rollin rollin rollin. Great shop.

This is my go to shop for all things bike. I got my first cross bike here in 2016 and got nothing but tremendous support from Steve and the rest of the crew at GBS Brunswick. While other shops maybe closer, I feel more comfortable with the work done in Brunswick. They order anything I need and have it in 2 days. Definitely worth a stop if youre in the area.

Purchasing a new bike was more difficult than I had planned. It had been years since My wife & I had owned bicycles due to life in general. We discussed once again returning back to having biking in our lives & introducing our 3yo boy into more outdoor stimulation and we both agreed to this renewed journey.And....thats when it started. I started shopping for bikes, road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, race bikes, fat bikes, electric bikes, ect...ect...The choices, used, new, craigslist, ebay. So many choices. We started to narrow down the kinds of bikes we wanted, started watching reviews on youtube and online sites to get a better grasp on things. We as a family decided to buy new due to used bikes of the types we wanted being few and far in between and sometimes 8-10 years old but still asking price was in the thousands. That was crazy to us and the choices were limited, no warranties, didnt know if bikes were abused ect...Anyway, I started visiting bike shops that had professionals and figured they could help me weave through the confusion. I seen alot of great bikes and at good prices and some not so great bikes at high prices, some even last years or older models costing the same as a new current year models with more upgrades. Anyways, most places around had good quality and decent customer service but we/I just hadnt found what was the right bikes, how they rode, customer service, great advice just yet. Thats until....I went to one of the very last shops local to me that I hadnt visited yet, Gorham Bike & Ski in Brunswick Maine. From the moment I walked In the staff was friendly without being pushy. They allowed me to browse until I had questions. They listened to what my expectations were, how I was going to be riding via terrain and circumstances, ect...then I asked for recommendations to fullfill all the things I would be looking for in a bike. And all this with my 3 year old in tow, it didnt bother the staff at all. Anyway..There were a few choices and different price points. I was urged to try them all and get a feel for them all. Anyways, I ended up finding an amazing bike fitting all my needs, a model I hadnt even considered, lol. Regardless, this establishment with their patience, their knowledge, advice, recommendations and choices for all ranges of needs most any could ask for comes highly recommended by me. I was so pleased with the service and quality of choices of brands, makes and models that the very next day I went back with my wife and she also picked out a bike from them that she loves. We figured why purchase from 2 different places if all you could ask for is under 1 roof.I highly recommend Gorham Bike & Ski in brunswick for their quality products, customer service, knowledge & advice. It may not be as large as some other bike shops or stores but I kinda liked it that way. I also want to thank the salesmen Mike who sold me my bike and the owner Steve who sold my wife her bike. Kudos to both of you and may God bless your buisness for many years to come.

Took my bike here a couple months back and was met with extreme arrogance. I explained I was very new to cycling and was interested in upgrading my shifters. The guy that I spoke with came out to look at my bike and his facial expression was of complete disgust and me made me feel pretty awful as if I was wasting his time.I was told it wasnt worth it to upgrade the shifters and I should just buy a whole new bike (which may or may not be valid). He asked how much I could spend on a new bike (which I wasnt even considering). I said nothing right now, maybe in the future a few hundred dollars? And again said I was brand new to cycling. He said there was nothing there that I could afford and then promptly moved on to another customer.Very unpleasant experience for a new cycler (cyclist?). I brought my bike accross town to the Rusty Crank where I had an extremely oppposite and pleasant experience and was not scoffed at.If the service and the person I dealt with at this shop represents the cycling community, then I in no way would ever want to be part of that community. I hope that it is not.Maybe if I was an experienced cyclist with a high end bicycle I would have been treated differently? I do not know, as I will not return to this shop.Would not recommend this bike shop based on my experience.

This is the essence of a local bike shop -- a great inventory of gear from entry-level and kids bikes, to fat bikes, to the best-of-the-best in road and off-road racing machines; truly something for everyone. The guys who work here are easygoing and knowledgeable, equally happy to help someone out with a flat repair or minor adjustment as they are to discuss nuances of high-end equipment.

A knowledgable, full service bike shop. Five stars!Great experiences with Steve and Jose at Gorham Bike & Ski in Brunswick. Ive visited the shop before to buy bike supplies, and was pleased with the professional, knowledgable service. When I wanted to buy a top of the line road bike this past Summer, Steve was just fantastic. We talked about my riding, my interests and my needs. He encouraged me to take a few of his bike models out for demo rides, both new and pre-owned bikes. The Trek Domaine was the the bike for me, and Steve helped me spec it with the right features. Love it!Since then, Steve and Jose have helped me with questions, maintenance tune-ups, and riding accessories. Thorough, meticulous, courteous, and professional.Steve is a cycling enthusiast and a delight to work with. Thank you!:-)
