From my first trip there, I knew that the shop would be my go to forever! Neal always makes sure that you’re alright and if you need a break! The shop has a welcoming atmosphere, and surpassed my expectations! I can say Neal’s work is incredible, and I will only be going to him for all my tattoos! Without a doubt this is the best tattoo business ever! I am very picky and have a lot of anxiety so I read the reviews and made the decision to go in. I went with my mom and we were greeted and taken care of like we were celebrities. Victor did the most BEAUTIFUL heart beat on my ribs that I brought in from my daughter’s EKG. He beautifully designed her initials and was open with any changes to fit what I wanted. Victor was so calming and talked me through the whole thing. He was patient and very meticulous with his designs. He took his time and made me feel so good about my decisions. The owner, Neal, was hands down the best owner of any business I have ever met. He was informed and offered life changing suggestions. I am a teacher and I originally wanted my tattoo across my breast plate and he gave me other options, thinking of my career and me as a person. He walked me through the needles they use, the professionalism and education and confidence he has invested in his artists, he explained every step of the process, and carried on some of the best conversations about life (to ease my mind). The best part was that they respected my time as their time and valued me as a human. Seeing the artists interact with each other was my favorite thing. They are like a family and treat you with the utmost respect. I am from Missouri and I will ONLY get my tattoos from the guys at Tattooed Empire. I support veteran owned businesses and down to earth good people. Do not go to ANY OTHER tattoo place. Tattooed Empire will leave you feeling like you made the best permanent decision. Manny is an absolute rock star of a tattoo artist. The care and precision that he put into my piece was nothing short of incredible. Extremely professional and all-around excellent work. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Very disappointed in my experience. I went in a week ago had a tattoo done. Never had a full color tattoo so I didnt complain about the pain figured it was normal. The artist kept wiping the ink and blood off with a dry napkin. Needless to say when I was done my skin was raw. The tattoo looked nice but that was due to all the swelling. I took pictures and realized he had overworked the tattoo. As the days went by the swelling went down but not the redness. The tattoo kept looking worse. Literally looked like I had holes in my skin. I called left an urgent message (as I was out of town) on what I could put on it and got no response. I was given no aftercare instructions, it wasnt wrapped. Something that was ment to be so special to me was ruined and now Im left with something ugly and I cant even hide it.

I really liked the service, my tattoo artist was Bebo, I even got a free sticker.

Neal and the crew at Empire are outstanding. Customer service is always on point. If you want a shop where the artists will sit with you and discuss the finer aspects of the tatt youre getting then this is the place youre looking for.

This review is only on body piercing that I went for. Cash only transaction for body piercing is a small inconvenience. But for the main reason for the negative review is that the body piercer wasnt informative there wasnt no aftercare instruction were given.

Loved my experience at Tattooed Empire. Neal helped me pick out a design that was fun and fit the idea I had in my mind, and then he tweaked it to make it even more unique and different. It’s a small shop so I never felt overwhelmed or uncomfortable, and I absolutely love the way my tattoo turned out.

I know most tattoo artists are smug and love their trade, but maybe try being less condescending to the guests. Also, let people know it’s “cash only” when you see people earlier in the day.Congrats on your “first day of piercing,” you did a great job. :)

I Loved my New tattoo. They are very professional.

I went here to get cartilage piercings with my boyfriend, and the man who does the piercing gave off a hostile vibe. I tried to stay positive because I wanted to get my piercings done but right off the bat, he told us the wait wasnt long so we just went outside for a little and came back in 10 minutes later. Then he asks us if were paying with card or cash because theyre only taking cash right now so we had to go to the bank to get cash out. He took a copy of my ID for records and printed out a few papers for me to fill out and left them their on the counter, and walked over to the tattoo seats without saying anything or walking me through anything. So i saw my ID on the counter and the papers and I asked do I fill these out? and he responds with just yeah. Once I sit down I tell him what I want and he draws the marks on my ear and I thought it was too low at first, so I asked him to adjust it a couple times and I had a couple questions and the more I asked I felt as if he was getting more impatient. Finally after having like 3 trials of drawing where I wanted it, I made my final decision and told him okay lets just do it like this, he was very rude and said, thats literally what I had originally, why didnt you just keep it the way the first time I drew it? and at that point I didnt know what to say, cause thats just so rude. So whatever, I got my piercings done and so did my bf, and theyre was no receipt given. Need i remind you, my attitude never once changed and I felt like I was very positive the whole time and I thanked him for my piercing because I do like the way it turned out. But there was zero customer service and it shouldnt be that way at all. If a customer comes in, they should walk them through and explain and be patient if they have questions, not act like theyre annoyed or that the customer is a burden. Whats the point of opening a business if youre going to act like that. Bad experience and wont be going there again. End of story.

Honestly, this is literally the BEST place for a tattoo than any other studio I’ve seen. The studio is very clean, the environment is welcoming and relaxing, as well as the equipment is all sterilized and opened in front of you. I got 2 piercings here and i was happy with my experience. the shop is super nice and i love modern look to it. the guy who does the piercings is chill as hell. everything was packaged, sterile and opened in front of me. i will definitely go back for future piercings. ✌🏼

I have been getting work done at Tattoo Empire for years. Neal is an amazing artist and dedicated professional. Bebo, who works there as well, does great work. I first entered the shop years ago when I lived in Brownsville. Since then I have moved to Wisconsin and now Oklahoma but will still return to Tattoo Empire on vacation to get more work done. At this point this location has worked on my arms, shoulders and chest. What makes this place great is that Neal will give you advise on your tattoo idea if you are willing to hear it. What I mean is this, it is true that if you get one tattoo, you are going to want to get more. So begin now to think of the flow from one tattoo towards the next. This way all your ideas will look continuous as you move from your first tattoo to who know where you end using color etc.. Finally, just walk into Tattoo Empire then walk into others. The cleanliness and organization of this place compared to others is immediately noticeable. You are getting ink work done. So wouldnt you want the piece of mind that the location you are getting your tattoo done is clean? I know I would.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this shop and its artists. I live in the mcallen area but will drive to Brownsville just to get my work done here. Its worth it! I had the pleasure of meeting Neal a couple of years ago and he has impressed me time and time again. His knowledge and attention to detail is impeccable. There are artists who will tattoo whatever you want, wherever you want...no questions asked...Neal, however, will take the time to find the best fit and flow for your piece. He considers all aspects of the work from overall movement/flow, placement, colors, you name it. Considering ink is there to stay..I would think youd want an artist who is mindful of such things. It is truly an amazing experience. The shop is inviting, comfortable, and organized and the level of cleanliness is top notch. I highly recommend this shop and its artists to anyone looking for exceptional work.

I was just there yesterday getting my tattoo, and I had the best experience. All of the artists were so friendly and professional, the shop was clean, materials were sterile. Also, I thought I knew where I wanted my tattoo placed at (below the ankle), but Manny suggested putting it above the ankle to decrease the chance of it fading from my shoe rubbing against it, and I love the placement so much better not to mention the recommendation said a lot about him as an artist. 10/10 recommend coming here! I was here on vacation but I’d drive all the way from Missouri just to get another from him!!

They don’t show up on time as there page and door shows. I went in they gave me every excuse under the sun to not do my tattoo. I went in wanting there business and they pretty much threw it back in my face. I told them different options and they seemed to be so lazy to make excuses not to do them. I would NOT recommend this place and if I could give them 0 stars I would. Terrible just terrible customer service

I came into the shop needing a tattoo on short notice, and Bebo took on the job. His work is outstanding. I will be returning to the shop to have all of my work done in the future. The guys in the shop are extremely friendly and make sitting in a chair for hours a breeze. I cant say enough good things about Tattooed Empire.

My piercings always fall off. My second day after I got my ears pierced the earring on my left ear fell off which is fine because they replaced it and they charged me $20 dollars for every ear. A few weeks later the same earring fell off. I went almost a week or so to get a replacement. They had to pierce me again and charged me $25 to redo my piercing. Thats $5 more than the original piercing. And now a couple of weeks and the same earring falls off again. WTF

When I decided to start tattooing, I looked around a lot and there were lots of great Artis out there, but the connection I felt with Neil and his staff, was unparalleled to anything I could have imagined.
