I have been in the Landscaping business for a long time, been to almost every yard in Colorado, and I have to say that the Broomfield Pioneer is one the very best yards I have been to. Staff knows what they are doing. The loader operator, Daniel I believe his name is, is definitely an ACE! Always right on the money with the weight every time I come and Its like hes a surgeon with that thing! Jake is very helpful and knowledgeable. Keep it up you guys!
I received excellent service from Pioneer. They were super helpful figuring out how much rock I would need for the project, and showing where the different options were located on their lot. They were even able to deliver the rocks same day!
Very nice staff willing to help with all your landscaping needs. Staff exceptional.
Absolutely great service from selection at the site to delivery. Fair pricing and friendly people.
I ordered over 6 tons of 5-12 Horizon Cobble landscaping rock and 20 yards of mulch, so a large order from the Broomfield location. The mulch was good quality, but the Horizon Cobble included a significant amount of dirt and smaller rock. I had to sort through the pile of rock and dirt for acceptable sizes, and ended up with a residual pile of dirt and smaller rock debris. I ended up having to rent a truck and find a dump site for the debris - added expense and a great deal of work. I sent an email with pictures to the Broomfield Yard Manager asking to discuss some amount of refund -no response. I left a polite voice mail as well asking for some attention to my complaint - no response. I would discourage anyone from doing business with Pioneer based on this experience - especially large orders where the risk is more significant.9/27Brandon did finally contact me and offered to refund the cost of the rocks. While it took a while to get resolved, I appreciated the final solution Brandon proposed.
Tommy delivered my boulders and did an excellent job. He was patient and courteous and put the boulders exactly as I wanted them andanaged to avoid my new plants. Thanks Tommy!
Brandon is so helpful on all my issues and questions on the product for my backyard project. He went above and beyond thanks for the help! Keep up the great customer service.
The absolute worst customer service on the planet! If I could give negative stars, I would. I called to complain about product quality and was told I would get a call back. Six hours later, no call. I called again and the guy acted like he could not hear me, kept asking, what do you need, then would put me on hold, without my permission, so I could hear him helping other customers in the background then come back on and ask what I need again. I repeated myself several times then hung up and called back to get the same routine. It appears this is how they disrespect women since my male SO called a few minutes later and immediately got transferred to a supervisor. Product was mostly red powder, see photos. First two are of the product they loaded and the third is their display of what I thought I was getting.
Earlier in the season we placed a big order of mulch and had a great experience with emailing with them and getting it ordered. Recently, working on a patio project, Ive made two trips to their location and both times had a great experience. They were great about answering my questions, everyone was wearing masks, and they would help or offer to help with some heavier things. Even when I went during a slow time during the week. When I went on the busy weekend, they had someone driving around asking if you needed help and even offered water. Will be back!
These gentlemen are amazing! This is more of a character reference than about their products. Four of their employees rescued me by changing my tire when it became flat on the way to work. Thank you thank you!!
Called in an order after previewing what I needed during the pandemic. Great customer service, great communication! The driver called to know exactly where to deliver. Got out of his truck and we social distanced 20 feet away to communicate. Delivered exactly where I wanted. Seamless from the start!
The customer service is wonderful. They are quick to serve you & very friendly. The propane refill is so easy & fast. I have never experienced such good service from any propane refill in the nation!
Picked up 4 small pieces of flagstone and was told it weighed 100#. I said no way, it’s 4 small pieces. We went to vehicle and weighed in hand scale and it weighed less than 25#. Be aware of the weigh-in/weigh-out process.
Friendly Service, Great Selection and Prices.
I am So disappointed in the The Broomfield Pioneer Sand and Gravel companyDO NOT TRUST Broomfield Pioneer Sand and Gravel to DELIVER YOUR Landscaping materials when you need it. I placed my order with Lianna 3 weeks before the job was scheduled to start. And I have people waiting to complete a landscaping project in my yard. Lianna only ordered half of the material i asked for. Then Brandon the Store Manager promised to have the needed but missing items delivered on June 5th. He lied and failed to get the most important items needed delivered by this weedend. So if you you need a company you can depend on DO NOT CALL PIONEER SAND AND GRAVEL OF BROOMFIELD These people are liars, rhey are incompetent and their service is unreliable.
The lack of communication with this store is very frustrating. We used the last of a specific kind of stone that they had in stock on a patio that is still in progress and waiting to be finished. I was told a week and a half ago that they were ordering more and should be there in a few days. I have called several times, had my number taken down by four different employees with no call back and have been dismissed each time I call. Im not expecting the stone to teleport itself, it is what it is, but having four different employees not care to give an honest update on the delivery of their product is unprofessional and impedes the progress and completion of customers that they are claiming to serve. Luckily I was able to locate it somewhere else and will continue to go through Colorado Materials for our landscaping needs.
Been here a good dozen times and always had good luck. But a recent weird experience has me wondering whether they actually want amateur business. I guess they really just want to service the landscaping companies that have accounts with them. Those of us who just want to fix up our outdoor spaces ourselves are not so welcome. I wont belabor the tale too much, but Ill just say that last week while we were waiting on the scale to get the baseline weight of our car before loading, an employ came out to our car and yelled at us and said that since they didnt know us (we are not landscapers...), they were really just too busy that day to figure out what we were doing and we shouldnt even bother weighing our car on the way out. Weve never been yelled at by anyone else there, so maybe it was just one lady having a bad day, but let me just explain how it works if you are a homeowner like us who wants to spruce up your landscaping yourself:1. Pull up to the front office and go in and tell them who you are, what car you drive, and what you want.2. Pull around back and drive onto the scale so they can weigh your car empty.3. Drive into the lot and load your materials.4. Drive back onto the scale and get a filled weight on your car.5. Drive around front to the office again and go inside and pay for your material. Our mistake was that we skipped the first step, mostly because wed already made four previous trips that week to buy the same compost and nobody had ever told us that we were doing it wrong. :-/There is a Pioneer out on Valmont in Boulder. I would recommend maybe going to that one if you are just a homeowner like us.
Short on supply of decorative boulders, only a couple choices. Delivery on boulder went well, but wood chip got dumped in alley blocking cars. Never got billing right, and despite many promises, still could not fix an overcharge.
Leanna and Richard were great. Very friendly. Best prices on landscape materials anywhere.
Called this outfit on Saturday 6-2-18.....Talked to some guy that took my information and what I wanted to be delivered on Sunday. I was told that was doable, and that they would call me back with a time for that it would be delivered. OH ya plus gave him my CC # and everything.....Come Sunday Morning 6/3/18.....I talked to a very nice lady....she looked up our order....they had no record of such so I had to explain it all over again.....including our address.....an hour later I was called again for CC# as it got shredded with other orders from yesterday.....Really.....To add more insult to the situation I went ahead and agreed to have it delivered and was told between 1-2....Here it is now 233pm Sunday....Last time I use this company...I would be fired from my job if this was to happen to my customers....so BS.....ExNavy guy here...truth be told!
I asked for help to pick up a 200 pound rock and they said that here at Pioneer Sand, we run a self serve style of business...... They did offer letting me use their fork lift to do it myself but I do not know how to operate one. I cannot lift that much weight into a truck by myself without most likely injuring myself. They do not care about the customer and think that the customer has no way to tell the world about what kind of operation they run. I am a local Google guide. Due to my position as a reviewer, lots of people will know what they did to me.Do yourself a favor and never use them.
Convenient location for Lafayette and Broomfield, great selection of landscaping materials, and quick, friendly service. Weve been coming here for years to pick up what we need to complete our landscaping projects.
Great place! Make all your landscaping dreams come true.
Julie is no longer at this location. Very disappointed, luckily I was able to find her at bedrock located in Denver. My experience has only been horrible aside from my work done with one member of that team and unfortunately she is gone.
I give 3 Stars because their rock is super!!! Have purchased from them for years, and it has been great, however I agree with Thomas, their planters mix is horrible. It is full of pea size gravel and large, hard clumps of dirt. It seems to be more like road base with compost mixed in. The manager said the gravel is supposed to be for drainage but it is at least half gravel....way TOO MUCH to grow any plant in. The gravel dries hard on top after watering and makes it very hard for water to absorb on the next watering. We have purchased the planters mix many times thru the years and it was not like this....dont know what the problem is....do not buy this product.
Good for what I was doing but wish they could use pictures and description of types of gravel and sand they have on hand not all just some.Other wise a good place to go.
Have what you need. Reasonable prices. Always helpful.
Ive gotten rock product from this company for years and years. Today I called to get a quote on some top soil...the guy who answered the phone acted like hed rather have been buried in an ant hill rather than talk to me. Its been a long time since Ive called a business and been so disregarded. Train your people to answer the phone and have a conversation with someone in a way that makes me at least FEEL like you want my business...even if you have to fake it.
Thank goodness for the multiple convenient locations both here on Dillon as well as Valmont. This is out second trip today and location was key for us. The selection at this location isnt quite as extensive as Valmont, but they had the mulch we picked earlier so that was good.
Easy access, they are very helpful and filled propane tanks quickly.
I stopped in at my lunch hour, was in and out in 15 minutes. They delivered the rock the same day. Awesome!
This was one of the worst mornings of my life. Apparently they only work there long enough to take your money.Out took forever to get a loader over to get our rock into our pick up truck! The customer service personnel only wanted to sell its things we didnt need
Very helpful staff who took the time to explain differences in their soil choices and rocks and prompt delivery.
Every time Ive been here they are helpful and accurate! Thank you
Great selection of hardscape material.
Wonderful friendly service with plenty of product to choose from
Great staff and always helpful.
My wife to get one last piece of flagstone the office had a smell of Alcohol and they were very rude . We will to be back
Seriously how do you get out of the parking lot? Picked up some propane and the entrance is on a one way (Dillon) making it impossible to get back on 287. Had to do a lap around Broomfield, so thanks for that
A little hard to find specially since we are not familiar with the area
Good variety of mulch
My go-to spot for cheap firewood.
Just a dandy
