Amazing little Indian store with everything I needed at a great price! The staff were super friendly and helpful with all of my requests and I look forward to coming back when I run out of all of my groceries. Highly recommend to everyone.
Everything you expect to find in an Indian store, you can find it here. Prices are mixed, some items are cheaper compared to other local supermarkets and some are expensive. The shopkeepers are super friendly so make sure you dont forget to greet. To reach by subway, get down at 53rd Street station.
Went to get turmeric & ginger chai tea my Indian friend recommends it and it is delicious
Situated right by the mouth of the 53rd Street subway station, this aptly placed branch of Patel’s Brothers is one of the few truly Indian stores you can find in NY/NJ area. While most of the products are imported from the motherland, some of them are locally sourced and yet, are as Indian as they can be. This store especially is convenient for me with its ease of access, reliability and not to forget, extremely hospitable owners. The staff seem more than eager to assist you with your shopping, coming to your aid when in need. The prices are as low as they can be and the quality is above and beyond.
Knowledgeable seller. Superior service
Yummy snacks and lovely people. Enough said ✌🏽👻
Friendly service. They have literally everything here!
The Owner was very kind and supportive for customers who arrived for the very first time in the States
Good spot for indian groceries. Will find most of the stuff here.
Your essential Indian groceries can be easily procured here quickly. Not crowded.
Friendly inside and very helpful
This Patel store is smaller than the one in Jackson Heights. It has a wide range of products tho, like spices, frozen food and snacks. Fresh produce is very limited. However I had a bad experience with the old man who usually sits behind the counter. He is rude, definitely not a way to treat a customer.
You will get all the india grocery u want there really nice place
They have almost everything in good quality available at there store and they are friendly too. The things which are not available, just ask them, they can get available for you.
I love Patel in Jackson Heights. Have to give this smaller sister location 4 stars simply because its so small. For its size, its great... if you need Indian cooking essentials or little things from the motherland like a bag of Kurkere, theyve got you covered.
Very excited to find this Indian grocer in my hood-ish! Its not very big but it had exactly what I needed, fresh curry leaves, Indian snack mix, long grain rice, masala flavored potato chips, chickpea flour and more! The only other place I could get fresh curry leaves would have been walking to the city since were still in a pandemic or driving to Queens. The store smelled wonderful and they had a nice selection of spices and grains and these cool little chaat kits. They even had masala flavored oatmeal!
The only Patel Store that I know of in Brooklyn. They are also responsible for packaging a lot of Indian grocery items for wholesale that one can buy in other smaller Indian or Pakistani stores. Their prices are better than stores in the Manhattan at least but they are not very cheap either. They have most of the popular foods from India but wish they carried some fresh snacks like samosas etc like some stores in Manhattan do. It would make the store perfect. If you are from India and miss your favorite things to eat from India, definitely give it a shot.
EDIT 5/18: Was in the area and stopped in. It was a pleasant experience. The shop is kind of small for good distancing. Great selection of spices.DURING COVID PEAK: Specific to the Covid-19 pandemic: I wasnt allowed into the store while they let in other people. I had both a mask and gloves. After some waiting, I was let in, only to be kicked out after a second. I tried to ask why but the owner started screaming at me. Not a great experience but I understand everyones a bit stressed right now. Basically, I would encourage you to order online and have your Indian grocery needs shipped if youre unsure about this place being open or letting people in during these times. Save yourself a trip.
Store is hard to move in as its too small but its got most of the stuff that you would require to prepare good Indian food. If you take the R line to access the store, the entry/exit of the station is literally at the entrance of the store. So its very easy to commute with a lot of groceries in hand.
Nice place to buy Indian and Pakistani seasoning and basmati rice. I love this store
I got all kind of my indian food...
Good serviceFresh food
Good staff. Probably the only Indian Grocery store in Bay Ridge area so i really dont have anything to compare it to.
The best place to get Indian food in Bay Ridge and Sunset Park area. The store literally has everything! It is a haven for students. Not just ingredients, the store has frozen food available as well. Including chat items.
Was quite happy to find a large variety of Indian stuff here. Give their kulfi a try. The staff was nice and helpful.
Very good
Very bad customer service. Expensive indian grocery in NYC.
Wont visit again. Poor customer service
Indian grocery store has been in the neighborhood for decades and has good selection of spices, beans, frozen foods, anything you need for Indian cuisine.
You get all Indian ready to eat food and Its right outside the R station
Wish my experience was better. Maybe my expectations of staff and products were little too high. I dont believe I will go back and everyone I have shared my story with probably wont visit either.
Hands down my go to in Brooklyn!
Great place to buy whole and ground spices and other pantry goods for excellent prices. They also offer lots of Indian and Southeast Asian ingredients (e.g., paneer, tamarind paste) that can otherwise be tricky to find.
This is the only Indian grocery store in the area, so Indians in southern Brooklyn are forced to go there. Its a small shop, much like a deli on a corner. Shop staff is not friendly or helpful. Also, make sure that you count every item because if you are not looking carefully, the shopkeeper will increase the price or add some amount in the total. And if you catch this scam, he will say it was a mistake in counting. He will not give you a receipt and you can not return items.
Convenient location next to the 53 st. Stop. Tightly packed but has everything we need.
Nice place clean wide variety of hot and cold food and some groceries very polite staff
Kind of small outlet. You may not find complete South Indian food. But its completely Indian. No hot snacks available for purchase as many other indian stores does. You do not feel like buying indian vegetables by looking at such small quantities.I buy frozen breakfast and yogurt and ready to eat mixes.
Most common place
Fresh hot food shopping.eat in or take out right next to the mta 53rd street and 4th ave station.
Patel Brothers is an Indian grocery store in Bay ridge area. They have a large collection of indian sweets, spices, and confectioneries. The most rare ones are desi dahi, dosa mix, paneer, indian sweets, and variety of roties. The store is very small but the owners are kind and friendly. They accept cards for purchases above $15. Great place to grab quick indian snacks.
Excellent place well stocked and people are very nice. Best !
Good things like spices at a great price
Its a great store for indians, you find literally everything here you need. And I think its cheaper than many other places
Great people I reached just five mins before time and they were about to close but he unlocked and let me in. And were so patient with me as I shopped.
Excellent services great quality of groceries
More like a Indian convenient store than a grocery store.
Best prices according to there services।
Its awesome, I could get all I wanted
They have all kinds of spices
Its a small store, but the staff is really helpful.
Bad way of talking. Management should be replaced with enthusiastic people. Such people are shame for Indians.
V busy place but really good food!
Its definitely overpriced, I wouldnt go here if it was not in my neighborhood. Also, please be cautious because the owner might charge you extra and pretend he did it by mistake.BEWARE!
They dont have everything that the NJ one has, but this is very close to my house
Great place to get Indian supplies.
All Indian grocery available that are priced appropriately...
Get all the indian commodities here!
Great customer service, wide range of Asian products for a great price.
Very small store but for groceries from the Mediterranean, this is the place to go.

The customer service is horrible, since the young generation took over.
