Havent been in Dragon Star since before the pandemic and oh my have they done an amazing job! For those of you that are pandemic cautious all of their produce is already pre-wrapped so you dont have to worry about other peoples like sneeze and touching it and all sorts of stuff. I still cant believe how great their prices are on produce and other Staples that I need to make you know anything from Indian food to Chinese food to Thai food you name it.
I can usually find great things here. Their produce is global which is Cool. I can get plantains from all over the world. Organization is not always the greatest, it always seems like theyve overstocked every section at some point and its just a massive chaos. But overall I can generally locate what Im looking for.
One of the largest oriental grocery stores in the twin cities. Fairly clean and selection of items very good. Some things can be expensive so you need to know your prices. But for a one stop Asian grocer it cant be beat.
I would not recommend buying any type of supposedly fresh meats or produce from here! Its not fresh and it seems like there just putting new tags and dates on old meats that does not sell before its expiration date.. bought a bag of chicken wings recently and when we got home and opened the $30 bag of chicken wings it already smelled bad like it was not refrigerated properly. And on that note the open fridge for there meats are not cold enough to temp for properly storing meat. Same as for the closed meat freezer.
Came for box of frozen fish. Am glad I got that and so much more. Decent price and friendly people. They helped and answered all my zillion questions. Will be going back
The inventory is amazing, but good luck finding what youre looking for. Shelves are very disorganized, but eventually youll probably find what you need. Customer service has mostly been atrocious, but there have been some pleasant interactions. Recommend for non-american, non-WASP goods of all kinds, but not for a good time.
This location is nice. Tons of produce and a variety of other goods. Nice and clean location too. Also, if If you are West Indian and looking for salt fish... ask for Bacalao. Yes use the spanish word at the Asian Market to make Caribbean food. The liquor store is quite affordable as well.
Excellent selection of Asian ingredients, fruit, etc. Staff is very friendly and helped me locate an item that I needed the last time I was there.
The foods and pots are good, but I felt a little bit sick after eating that.
I love Dragon Star. You can always find a huge variety of fresh produce. There is always something new and interesting on the shelves. I also like that I can get dishes, bowls, plates, etc at Dragon Star. The staff is always helpful.
My go to place for my Asian needs! Super affordable too! They have fresh food made daily so they have you covered for lunch! The only downside is that the aisles aren’t labeled correctly so it’s confusing at first but I’ve been going here for a year now and pretty much know my way around the store.
Great variety of things, but long lines at the checkout.Expect other rude people blocking the way.
We used to favor Sun Foods; but their stores have gotten seedier. Dragon Star is cleaner, and now their seafood section has a better selection. We wish the produce section is larger. We will be coming back soon.
Fresh turkey tails are fresh n meaty but some of they fruit and veggies are moldy alot, service nice though
This is CubFoods Asian style*. Lol Its got your fresh produce, deli, bread, cookies, cake, meat & seafood, frozen meals, ice cream, juice & drinks, cookware, home supplies, etc. ⛔Parking can get busy so drive safely. Enjoy your visit!✨
Terrible and rude manager/owner. I checked their store hours online, which stated they were open until 9 p.m. before driving out there. When I arrived at 8:25 p.m., the manager/owner was outside, cleaning the entrance. When I tried to go inside, he started aggressively yelling at me and telling me they were closed. He was such a jerk. Is this how businesses should talk and treat to their customers? I will never spend another penny at Dragon Star. What a waste of my time.
Best prices on cabbage per pound in Brooklyn Park and same for onions, also great for all sorts of Asian and other imported specialty items and at a good price too.
This store has a lot of items but its organized in a scattered way. The employees on the floor were not helpful in locating products.
I love this story. It is well organized and things are easy to find. They have everything! And the prices are amazing!
Dragon Stars marketplace. Is well lit store, clean, and also bigs. If you are interested in cooking and need ingredients, why not try them too.
Great stuff, variety of everything. Great value.
This is an actual supermarket. If you are looking for fresh seafood, this is a good place to go. 4 out of 5 stars because they didnt have a huge variety of ramen.
The store had quite the selection of different ethnic foods. It was pretty cool to see such a wide variety of drinks and snacks, among other things. I noticed a lot of fruit flies around the produce. Ive never seen them in regular supermarkets so I dont know if thats normal, or if that just speaks for the freshness/organic of it. A lot of neat stuff to say the least! And older things I thought were discontinued!
Fresh vegetables, meat and fish. Also silverware, cooking utilities, laundry detergent and more everything you need.
This is a great Asian market. I like to buy the cooked beef. When I get home I cut up some broccoli and onions, stir fry them in oil, then add the beef and sauce it came with for a very good meal.
Wide variety. Low prices. Almost overwhelming if you dont know what you are looking for, but if you do, its awesome. Unfortunately didnt have everything I wanted, but they cant carry every product from every country.
Great selection and fantastic experience for those tired of the mundane
They close whenever they feel like. Just go before 7. Everyone that works there look miserable.
An employee was very helpful with finding me a driving cart. Forgot his name.
It’s only 8:39 p.m., the employees said that the store already closed? I also saw some products on the shelf that has been expired so if any of you guys are shopping here, don’t forget to check an expiration date!
Got here @ 8:22pm and was told that theyre closed.False advertisement. They dont close at 9pm.
Business time is not true, we were arrive 8:30 at night, and 8:40 the employees kicked us out, even though we were ready to check out.
This place looks and smells like trash. Came in with my dad to get just a few things, but after waiting 10 minutes in the only checkout line, which hadnt moved at all in those 10 minutes, we put back our things and left. Were were then accosted by the security guard as we left, because my dad had tried to go out the front entrance, instead of the exit, and the guy thought for sure we were trying to steal. What a joke of a grocery store.
Was extremely impressed with the incredible amount of variety here! By far the biggest Asian market Ive ever been to. If you need a hard to find ingredient for an Asian recipe, you WILL find it here! Fantastic made to order Bahn Mi and very good pho restaurant too. MUST try the chicken wings! Large whole wings, light and tasty breading, and super crispy! Not only were they delicious, they were only 49 cents apiece!!! Only drawback was the backup at the checkout lines. It can get busy but, well worth the trip!
This place is really big and sells all kinds of Asian food. They have Asian fruits, ramen, and more. One area for improvement is to update their signs because nothing is organized where the sign says it should be, especially in the frozen foods section. It’s extremely hard to find where things are without asking someone who works there. Fortunately, most if not all of the employees speak English.
Has lots of food and pretty good my parents go their sometimes
My first time here!!Very impressive and the nice staffs:)I feel so bad because I worked so late and it’s halfway to closed. So I tried to be quick, but the place is Huge and I got lost lolThe staffs are very helpful and friendly.Guide me to the session to get my groceries, and when I leave the store the gentleman even pushed the cart for me when I was full-hand.Thank you so much !Love this place :)I felt very welcomed and the hospitality here. Will definitely come back soon to get the bean sprouts (they sold out today)🤣
It has lot of products but.. I dont like the smell in some sections of this Supermarket and secondly there are not lot of assistance from store apprentice because there few or none at all
This store is a one of a kind, and the prices are quite decent.
Lots of fun things to look at and buy in there and fresh cooked items also
It was nice! I loved to get some Korean ingredients and kimchi!
I frequently go here and love the range of vegetables and fruits. The range of items for African and Asian community is abundant.
Not cleaned.they like to pack bad produce inside the goods
Price are reasonable, had almost everything I was looking for
They closed half hour early and will not let you in. They actually put a doorman there to make sure no one comes in at 8:30pm.
Great variety of asian food
A huge variety of foods from all around the world.
Great selection of asian foods but the deli is a hit or miss. Meat is sometimes overly cooked and papaya can be bland . Hours on google maps are wrong saying they close at 8 when they close at 7:30. Twice my daughter and I came at 7 and were told by rude workers that we have 15 minutes to get our shopping done .**Update .. I went today right at 4:30. Store was cleaned. Not packed and lanes were opened. I was able to buy some deli papaya which was on point.! Super juicy with tons on peanuts and the right amount of spicyness for me and my husband to enjoy
As an Asian-American and someone who cooks Asian food all the time, Ive been to a lot of Asian markets and this one is one of the best Ive ever been to. The prices are reasonable, its very English language-friendly, and they have a restaurant and carry out section which most dont have! That fishiness others are talking about is very normal for stores like this one as is the customer service not being up to American store standards, which is fine with me as its all about the food selection and variety. They have a good fresh produce section and great variety for all types of Asian and Hispanic cuisine. The only things I dont usually get here are American foods, milk and eggs as those can be a bit expensive, but everything else I buy from here. I highly recommend this place for any Asian food needs you may have!
I like this store. I like the cooked food also.
I love this place! the staff is super nice and they listen to you and help you achieve the best look for you! everyone is so talented and i absolutely will continue going
Great variety of products, specially veggies and meat.
Price had increased for all product...cant believe the limits are $3 dollars now...there is limited supplies now, there is no green onion
Great market and restaurant.
I really want to love this supermarket! The only reason I dont yet is because while they have an amazing selection of seafood, I cant get past the smell of fish as I walk through the back half of the store. Dont get me wrong, fish smells like fish, but from what Ive read, a market shouldnt smell pervasively of it. That is a warning sign that it isnt all fresh or properly cooled. If they could fix this one thing I would gladly rate them a 4 or 5. I still shop here, especially for 50lb bags of rice and their amazing selection of spices and candies.
I get there what I don’t find elsewhere 👍🏽
The prices are good but the smell can be to much at times.
Nice store. Especially for seafood.
They are affordable and well stocked
Love the liquor store Warehouse
Love this place, amazing food, great to go meals. Nice customer services, big parking spot.
Superbad. Close earlier than the normal open hours.
Its a experience. Food for everyone in the world. Nice place.
I only docked one star because of the smell of the place but I love shopping here. Vegetables are cheaper and look more fresh than traditional grocery stores and they sell a variety of food items that always fit my needs. Staff friendly and youre almost guaranteed to find what you need.
Buying food is sometimes a hit or miss as they dont throw away their rancid products hoping to make a quick buck out of them. I shop alot here but more often than u like I get bad product I just have to throw away.Update: bought bread Friday, already mold by Monday. Had to throw it away. How do they pass health inspection?
African food is always good 4 the soul boi
They close at 9PM. Im sitting in the parking lot writing this and am seeing multiple customers refused entrance at 8:20PM onward.
All I can said is that this people Including the security guard since we walked in they were arguing, 10 minutes before closing a guy with Addie to tell us that were closed already and will check it now they were punching the register and speaking on their own language sound then mad as hell. I will never come back to this place.
It is very large store & very little customer service. Your pretty much on your own if you need help. The associates who stock do just that. There is no greeting or are you finding everything ok today, nothing. Just boxes all over blocking aisles. Prices are higher on some things so you need to be careful because they dont have prices posted for some things. Sometimes it smells in there & sometimes its clean. Lots to choose from though. Huge selection on many different types of food that you wont find in other grocery stores. They definitely need to work on their customer service skills because nobody smiles or says hello or is the slightest bit friendly or welcoming except for the security guy exiting. Hes always friendly. 😃
The good place for the Asian people to find their stuff. Have varieties of vegetables and fruits, familiar with own country. But have to be careful about the price as they dont put the price correctly. They sold the fresh seafoods and frozen one that can be eaten.
Food is pretty cheap and beer is even cheaper especially imported from Mexico 🇲🇽
First time visiting would return. Purchased what I came for plus somethings I was not planning on buying.
Awesome selection for all the timid white folks. Go in and expand your pallet.
I enjoy the staff. Theyre always pleasant to interact with - never rude at all. Security at the exit is always polite so dont forget to wish them a good day/night. The restaurant section is great and they pack up the to-go containers really well.. Honestly I enjoy shopping here and the variety is great.
Great selection of ethnic foods, mainly southeast Asian but Ive also seen Indian and African options too. Lots of meats and seafoods, different than what you would see at Cub or HyVee.
Last time when I was there it smelled like there was a dead body omg 🤮🤮🤮 I can’t believe that they don’t clean enough and the employee in the exiting area was rude. I noticed they have preferences for their own race.
So much variety. We went there for hot pot ingredients. As someone who has never been there and only speaks and reads English, I was able to get 80% what I needed. I was not able to find associates to help me or understand what I needed. I am not upset at all. It was overall a great experience. There are def some interesting things to try. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because the entire place, even walking up to the door smells strongly of dead fish/shrimp. Will def come back to get other unique items for my dishes.
The vegetables were fresh here, will definitely come again
Its ok I used to like it till I got 2 pounds of fresh shrimp 🍤 and it was bad ...I mean rotten Im so upset about it cause thats playing with peoples health and safety. Never again will I buy there stuff.
1st time there&was told that it barely opened. Quite impressed upon the cleanliness of the store. Prices were not bad&I was glad to see diversity in people especially with whats going on the world during these tragic historic events going on.
This place is awesome! Tons of fresh veggies and hard to find items all in one place. They also have great dry foods sections organized by cuisine and type of food. Theyre fresh noodles are great too!
The largest selection of Asian groceries - super impressive produce section and meats of all kinds.
I come here with my wife, and the layout and variety of food is good. We can usually find what we need here. I can only give it 3 stars because of the customer service. Even at peak times on the weekend when its the busiest, youll rarely find more than 2 or 3 checkout lanes open, and the wait time to check out can reach 20 minutes at times. I have no idea why they dont have more lanes open at busy times. Also if you need help, youll rarely find it. Theres never a manager in sight, and if you ask one of the workers for help, good luck. I will give this place a better rating once their customer service improves. Until then, it gets 3 stars.
Closed 10 minutes before 8 p.m. and the person at the entrance said they can close anytime they want.
So much selection that you could lose your mind!!! Come get some!
Always clean with no funky smells. I love the choices of fresh fruit meat and seafood. Customer service is pretty good as well. I will not buy from anywhere else. Hands down best for fresh food.
Do not buy a rice cooker or any other countertop appliances from Dragon Star. We bought a rice cooker for $140 on the tenth and brought it back on the sixteenth, but was told we couldnt make a return. We were told their return policy was 72 hours, even though the cooker was never used, still in its plastic wrapping, and never left the box. A lot of these Asian stores make up some of the most rediculous store policies that wouldnt fly in any other establishments. Avoid this place!
No stress at all!
One of the best Asian markets in the Twin Cities. This is a large store with variety and selection. Exotic fruits and veggies and good prices. I ate at their deli and had a good experience. Lots of foods to try. The meat Dept. has the cheapest price Ive ever seen on ground beef. At one point it was $1.50 per pound! And that was 75% lean or higher... Other cuts of pork, beef and chicken were a similar value. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut but the secrets out now. Yeah the front checkout lines can be a pain but its not the end of the world if you have the time. (-minus one star) for slow service. That being said, I still look forward to my next visit.
Great market! Huge store with and meets almost every cultural food item need and more!
Overall a good experience. Food is good. Unfortunately I couldnt find any corn or gochujang. But it was nice.
I think the other one is better. The price labels arent clearly mark in some sections. They also have the Philippine flag upside down, which signifies courage during war. Blue is always on top which signifies peace. Is there a reason its displayed red on top?
Ive gone here about 5 or 6 times since Ive moved to the area about 1 1/2 months ago. Its the closest grocery store to my new home. The variety they have here for imported foods is the best Ive ever seen anywhere.Snacks and spices are what brought me in but I decided to do the majority of my grocery shopping here. Once I bought some frozen food and perishables that changed. The tots and fries I got here both tasted funky, freezer burnt, and seemed like the flavors from the other frozen food seeped in some how. The shredded cheddar I bought wasnt expired but it was gross and I had to throw out an entire meal I made with it because I wasnt able to eat it. The ground beef I got was so bad I had to throw it out.I loved this place at first but after buying perishables here Im never coming back. Theres a reason they have cheap meat prices.
