Cant say enough great things about Silver Lake Auto! Best experience Ive had at an auto shop. The manager, Matt and the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and the service was timely, efficient and thorough. I was at my wits end with my car, taking it from place to place trying to solve an ongoing issue that no one seemed to be able to diagnose. They were able to get me in and provide me with a detailed diagnostic report on my car, which included things that needed immediate attention that the other places missed. It was accessible to me by email and text with notes and pictures from the technician which made it super easy and simple to communicate with them about what they found and they were happy to answer any questions I had. And they give you fresh cookies when you check out!! Doesnt get much better than that. I will be taking my car here from now on. Thanks guys!!

Going to a mechanic is always scary when something is wrong with your vehicle and you have minimal knowledge about them. Silver Lake Auto was very courteous and thorough, complete with pictures. They laid out what needed to be done immediately and what can wait in non-mechanic terms. They also let us use a courtesy vehicle for a day so I didnt have the hassle of having to shuttle during business hours as well as have transportation to work the next day. They made that process easy and seamless. I had a great experience and would recommend at least getting their opinion, even if you are shopping around.

My car was towed to this AAA approved center. I experienced a friendly, competent, courteous, and professional staff from the lady at the desk to the technicians and manager. The diagnosis and subsequent service were right on. They also solved a nonworking radio, which my car dealership said would cost me a significant amount to fix. I originally called Silver Lake Auto & Tire when I tried to start my car one day after work and something just wasn’t right. It was idling really high and frankly, I was afraid to drive it. So, like any other person who may know nothing about cars, I googled the nearest place with the best reputation and, their name came up. And I’m so glad it did. I had them tow my car to their shop that evening and waited nervously the next day to hear back. The next morning, I was messaged all the details complete with pics. They also highlighted what needed to be done urgently and what could wait. Awesome right? Not only are they in a central location but just walking in there, I felt good. Not the usual “out of my element” feel that I get when I’m well, out of my element. I will definitely vouch for their professionalism, their skills and their friendliness. Now, my car drives like new even tho it’s pretty old. This is now my go-to spot. Make it yours too. You’ll be happy you did.

I had tires shipped to Silver Lake from Tire Rack for mounting, balancing and installation on a 2005 Chevy Express AWD. The appointment was made promptly, the work was performed without any issues and they did not attempt to up-sell additional services. That is a big win for me! They did exactly what I asked for with no hassle. Brilliant! I will use their services in the future.

My car was down for over two weeks and I called silver lake originally but decided to take my car somewhere else unfortunately on my part regarding my alternator after spending over $700 my truck was still not fixed nor running. I called Silver lake back and that assured me that could fix it even though they saw that my originally issue was still the problem!! Silver lake fixed my car within 24hrs. This is the most professional, friendly and clean automotive place I have ever seen and appreciate them to the fullest I will surely recommending them to all my friends and family.. Thank you thank you I thought my car would never be fix or it would cost more too fix than the actual cost of the car!! Silver lake Brookfield gets five plus stars from me!!!

I had about $3300 of maintenance done on our Acura RDX and usually I wouldn’t do everything at once. But when I saw how thoroughly they inspected my vehicle, I chose them to do all the work.They even caught things I knew were wrong and needed to get done!The vehicle is great and would definitely recommend to anyone needing work done!Keep up the great work guys!

Ive used them twice and would not recommend them to anyone unless they know what theyre paying for. The first time I had my muffler replaced for $543 and a belt for $213. I thought that was too much compared to past replacements but my truck was already there so I decided to pay. They also recommended an electrical diagnostic for one of my brake light. I was told it was not to the bulb which they already tried. God knows how much that was going to cost me. I told them Ill save that for next time. (Back to this later). The second time my truck died on the highway so I had it towed to Silver Lake. I was told that I needed to replace my entire fuel system for $2800......let me say that again $2800! Of course I was stressing having to repair my truck again within two months so I call Toyota to get their estimate of an entire replacement of my fuel system. I was quoted it would be around or under $800....let me say that again....under $800! I told Josh I was going to get it towed back home and I can decide what to do next. Josh calls me back and offer to lower my cost down to around $2000. I insist that I will get it towed and he said hell see what he can do. He calls me back later and told me my truck now starts. All they did was added gas! Its been over a month and no issues...of course I keep the gas tank more than 1/2 full now. Back to my brake light. Today, I decided to change my brake light and guess what.......it works. Be diligent on what youre paying for and call around to compare prices. If it doesnt not make sense, take it somewhere else. Ive learn my lesson and will no longer use their services. I will also not recommend this place to any of my friends and family. No matter how well their customer service is, being honest is more important.

Passenger side rear axle/seal was fixed. Serviced it in a very timely manner. However, the bill was $55 higher than the original quote and didnt make me aware until I mentioned it. Disappointed that they didnt honored the original quote.

I needed my vehicle repaired within 2 days for a road trip. Silver Lake got it in, inspected and repaired in about 1 day. Fixed all of my issues and after 1,200 miles its running great!

Came here for a tire rotation and wheel alignment on my Tesla Model S and was very happy with the result. The pricing seemed reasonable (everything is getting more expensive, now that shops have to do extra calibration for driver-assistance features), the service took about an hour less time than they told me to expect, and most importantly...they didnt change my seat presets. Everyone I talked to was very friendly and very up front about what they would be doing and how much it would cost. I will definitely be coming back to this location for future work.

I got a quote here for a rear brakes job. They picked my car up while I was at work but, wanted $450 more than the two other places I got quotes at. I told them this in a survey they sent me and they called me back the next day. They said the reason my quote was $450 more was because they get parts from NAPA auto parts and they offer a life time warranty. I could get my brakes done twice at any other place and still have $120 left over. Good customer service, but they need it because their prices are so high.

When I needed to pick up the car, a shuttle driver was sent to my home to pick me up. An amazing surprise was my car was washed and vacuumed when I picked it up!! And I received cookies at checkout. I was going to give this place one star but I do have to say that the reason why I picked this place was because of how they were letting customers use a rental car while they’re car was being looked at was a plus It was an easy progress coming in and dropping off my car along with getting the rental car for the few days while they looked at my car due to my boyfriend and I having to share my car at the moment. The reason why I brought in my car was so that they could do a safety inspection on everything because I had some concerns with my car that should’ve been done awhile ago. All of which was complimentary besides looking at the ABS which I paid $138 for that to be looked at which I understand because the ABS is difficult to look at. Amanda was super nice and helpful so I do appreciate that also. When they were done inspecting my car, I asked for the prices for everything. I was speechless when they sent me the invoice. They wanted over NINE THOUSAND dollars for everything to be done. That is worth MORE than what I paid for my car. I do understand that includes labor but come on that’s absolutely ridiculous. They wanted $80 JUST to switch the windshield wipers. To compare, when my tie rod broke on one side of my car that only costed me $180 at a different shop and they wanted FIVE HUNDRED dollars for the other side to get done. Another comparison is they wanted $60 to get rid of a part of corrosion on my car battery when I can just get a spray that will do it for me for the price of $6.00. I wanted to get at least the tie rod done and some other things that need to be done but when I got the pricing back I thought it would be absolutely stupid of me to do something like that for the prices I was given. Another reason why I give it two stars is because when I picked my car up for the shop, I noticed that my car sounded worse than when I dropped it off. I gave it a few days thinking maybe it will go away but it hasn’t. My car steering wheel is SO loud when I turn it in whichever direction and that is something that my car has never done. It is also really embarrassing as well. I feel as though I have completely wasted my time and I have had an extremely disappointing experience.

They did a great job of getting my brakes fixed (life time guarantee) and my oil changed in a timely manner and at a good price. There service summary is very complete and will help me keep track of what needs to be done on my car

When I call the women I spoke with was very nice and scheduled a time for me to bring in my car. From the front door, front desk, waiting room, bathroom and the service garage was spotless. I had a chance to speak with the Manager and he was very nice and professional. It was a great experience going there.

Ran into car troubles in the middle of this pandemic and Tyler was so great! He understood I had two young children at home and offered to have someone come pick up the car. Had it fixed within a day and they brought it back to my garage when finished. Can’t thank them enough!!

I love having an option for the Hybrid issues other than the Dealership. Silver Lake Auto was able to find the issues and take care of it. Unfortunately and of course, I needed the car for my son leaving for college after the holiday weekend and something went wrong with the replacement battery they just put in and he can’t take the car now and I am short a vehicle. I was trying to avoid being careless but as it is holiday weekend we won’t get it fixed in time. I hope they tow it in for free this time-waiting for a call back.

This is my second visit and I remain impressed. Having a loaner makes my world a lot easier and stress free. They fixed the A/C in my truck that others were not able to fix for years; simply placed a band aid on it and told me various reasons why it would not function each Summer. Silver Lake Auto came to our rescue. We were stranded on 94E. We called them and they were there in 30 minutes. The tow truck driver was very professional. He was polite and personable. Once back at the shop, they were very efficient and helpful. We got a ride home as well. They had our sons truck repaired in 2 days . Any repairs were approved in advance by my husband. I was very impressed by the entire experience. I highly recommend Silver Lake Auto and will call them again if I am in a similar situation.

I needed 4 new tires for an SUV and routine maintenance. I worked with Tyler. He is an excellent communicator and keeps you advised of timing, needs, etc. Silver Lake does something I had never seen before: They text you photos of anything the car needs so you can see for yourself and then make the call whether to replace/repair, or not. Very effective tactic when you think about how many times a dealership has sold you something you didnt think you needed. With 4 new tires, they offer an extended warranty on tires and repairs, free rotation for the life of the tire. You must bring the vehicle back within 50 miles of driving so they can ensure wheel torque. I went back after work that day because of the mileage I drive. There was a blizzard and traffic was nasty so I called to say I would try to be there before they close and Tyler stayed open 10 minutes later to wait for me. He could not have been nicer. This tire center undersold all the others in price and offered A+ customer service. I highly recommend.

I very recently had an issue with silver lake auto and left a negative review. I left the review not 2 days ago and they IMMEDIATELY got back to me and we settled the matter much to my satisfaction. Its something that Ive never experienced when dealing with an issue with an establishment where I didnt feel completely satisfied. My car was delivered to the property at around 8:30 pm by the AAA tow truck after a breakdown on I-94. I received an acknowledgement call first thing next day and another call a little later with the diagnosis. The work had to be split between 2 days as parts were ordered. I was given a loaner car so I could get home to Madison. Everything was completed as promised. Staff were all friendly and professional. Its a good shop.

I took my car in to the Brookfield location after it broke down a couple weeks ago. Told them I had no idea what was wrong, explained what happened, and trusted them to fix it. Paid $1,400 all said and done, just for the exact same problem to cause a breakdown in Chicago less than a week after getting the vehicle back. When I called to ask if they would stand by their work, all I got was that if I found a shop in Chicago to do ANOTHER repair, maybe that shop would be able to warranty out the parts Silver Lake installed. Meanwhile, I’ve had to spend hundreds on car rentals, etc. as I live in Wisconsin and have had to run back and forth between Milwaukee and Chicago dealing with the second breakdown. I hope my experience is the exception, but I will never take a vehicle back to these folks.

I must admit, I was not aware of the company and even its location in Brookfield. But my experience although painful in the pocket (extremely fair price), was outstanding Tyler was so kind hearted and they even drove me to my location in Brookfield. Tyler actually saved me a nice chunk of money from the original estimate. I will go back again, very clean inside, very nice waiting area. Seriously, I say the above as a person who recognizes outstanding service which nowadays is rare.

Was in a pinch with a work truck. They thought they would have it done in 3 days due to the scarcity of the part needed. I stressed the importance of having the truck back asap. I had it back the next day and the repair was cheaper than the original quote. I cannot say enough good things about them. They came through when it mattered most.

I took my car to another very good garage that said the work needed was not something they wanted to do. I took it to Silver Lake and they said they had done similar work in the past but not on a Miata, but it should not be a problem. Not only did they fix the problem promptly, but since I bought the car used, they did a complete analysis of the work that had been done, or I should say, not done since the car was new. None of it was mandatory, but due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, I felt their great analysis was a huge bonus for helping me to prevent future problems. I highly recommend this garage and they are very easy to work with.

I brought in my 2007 Chevy Silverado for a wheel bearing replacement. I was told that a very detailed inspection would be conducted prior to any quotes or maintenance. I figured it was the usual 23 point inspection where, in my honest opinion, they check a few grease zerts and kick the tires. Then print out a sheet that says what they think youll need. This is not at all the case at this shop.I was offered a complimentary vehicle as the inspection was being performed. Then I was given a call sometime later to check my email for my inspection results. What I opened up seemed like something I would use in my aircraft maintenance career. It was a fully diagnostic of my truck. Complete with pictures, videos, highlighted sections, explanations of current issues, which are color coded green, yellow and red, referencing good, cautionary and immediate action respectively. Links are also provided to show what the maintenance action is required and what exactly will be performed and replaced. There is a multitude of information on the diagnostic and Im sure Im missing some information that was provided.Furthermore, they include a picture of the mechanic that will be performing the work. Once the maintenance actions required, or requested, are agreed upon you are able to watch a progress bar through another link provided.This is by far the best shop I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It eliminates all questions regarding what is necessary and what is not. Instead of asking why certain things are bad, they show it to you in detail rather than just saying it needs replacing.I will continue to utilize this shop for any and all maintenance that I can not perform myself.Truly exceptional. Thank you.

Took my wifes car there after her freebies from the dealership ran out. The dealership always seemed to make a lot of unnecessary recommendations, not the case at Silver Lake Auto. They are honest and will only recommend service that is needed.

Quick service. Needed to replace both cabin abd engine air filters. Asked first, and had both in stock. Cookies too!
