Purchased vehicle 07/08/2021#1-Traded down from a more expensive vehicle with title in hand.*One month later and 4 phone calls to dealership:Still no check for amount owed to me*on each call I was told a follow up call to me would occur with a status update-to be fair I DID get one call- it was the checks in the mail6 days after that call and still no checkIts time to go public!!#2-My specialty tag was to be transferred; Dealership had all necessary documentation to do the transfer.-Guess who got a registered vehicle to a worthless new tag for me (I require handicap tag that I already had from previous vehicle)#3-Told First Place Finish ceramic paint protection was already completed -EVERY vehicle received it prior to being placed on lot#4-shown the Car Fax that car has clean history no accidentsWhen my detailer started removing their mess he found the car had a recent paint job on drivers door.The door handle still had tape from the body work!#5 speaking to business manager about this we cant guarantee a car fax you need to speak with used car sales managerThats FIVE reasons I wont recommend this dealership or its management team.Please see attached pictures of their first place finishI also included the corrected paint from a true professional

Want to be treated like you belong to their family? These are those guys. They are always busy, but always treat you like you are a VIP. They dont try to sell you things you dont need, they dont have to since they have plenty to keep them busy. How do you tell if it is a good business? If they dont try to make extra work for themselves to make a buck. If you try to get an appointment and you have to wait a bit. This is those guys. They will treat you fair and give you an honest deal. If I won the lottery, I would make sure to reward everyone of them. They have taken great care of us for years.

I stopped in today to look at the santa cruz to purchase and was told by manager on duty that if I was to buy out right he would have to charge me more money cause they would not make there quota on interest sales person I dealt with was amazing but as the manager came over he wouldnt even allow me to bring paper work home to the offer he made he refused and said no paper work could leave the office

If you want to go somewhere and be treated like what you want matters this is the place for you!! I ended up driving 2 hours from NC, bc my brother had bought a truck, and he was going on and on about the warranty program and how nice the sales people were, I just sorta wanted to prove him wrong and show him they really can’t be that great right?I had pretty much given up on my car from the past 6 years, they offered me a really good trade value on it, and put me in a car I never knew I would be able to afford and love. The extra topping on the cake is the amazing warranty, so that means no more sitting on the side of the road for me! This place is truly a family experience, Joe didn’t mind my toddler running around, he took his time since my mind was set on a Toyota, he was extremely patient listening to my nervous babble. Charles was so nice going over the paper work while my daughter was into everything he had in his office, he even let her push the buttons on the electronic paperwork. I was able to meet the general manager(bc you know most places they would be hiding in the back, but not at Friendship). On the way out Scottie even shook my hand, took our picture, and made sure we had everything we needed for our two hour drive back. These guys do not get paid on commission either so there daily goal is to sell you something that’s going to keep moving not just a lemon you shall break down in 3 months later. First time I’ve actually left a dealership feeling like I’m pretty much part of the family as they are mine. If you want a wholesome experience, and to not be taken advantage of Friendship is the place for you. As a single mom myself, you have no idea what it means to have my babies in a safe car! Heck the car even came with a cleaning kit!! I left feeling like I won the lottery!! Please go ask for Joe!! But even if he’s not around any of those guys are more then willing to help you out, take it from a Single mom that’s normally sized up before her credit is even ran!!!

I ask the service guy if he can check to see if my compressor for my ac was sting or weak came bck and said it was fine I was waiting for the car but they refill my car with Freon with out my concent and then charge me $ 143 for labor I was going to put the Freon in my self u have to record your self when speaking with these people there come bck with a big bill and I have good warranty worst experience ever at a service dealer.

Brandon and the service team did a great job doing all they could to make it happen! They worked with me to find a used car, as close as possible to the model year, and the approximate mileage I was looking for. He left to come buy it right after calling,he lives 2 hours away,he said you all sold it right before he got there and the manager even smarted off to him.

Not to happy with my experience. Vehicle with 29,330 miles had almost bald tires on it, wouldnt pass inspection. They said theyd put tires on at cost at the at cost price, it was cheaper to get tires from discount tire that were better, and had a better deal. Also, they sold me a $1,000 paint warranty, that I never agreed to, but was in the documentation I signed when I signed for the title. I didnt want this, i never said a thing about it, and I declined every other warranty they tried to sign me up for. It was on the invoice right above gap insurance, so I thought it was part of the banks mandatory fees. Basically, you know how they say online about car dealers changing how things are done these days because of terrible business practices? These are the kinds of practices they are referring to. Love Hyundai of Asheville. Ill go back there next time. Also, when I didnt want a $615/month car payment (Cars arent houses, they rapidly depreciate, so I dont want to put that much out) I was told, what, are you on a budget or something?

Just purchased a used vehicle. Best car buying experience ever. Very fair pricing and trade in value. No pressure sales. Did everything remotely and had the car delivered to North Carolina! Paperwork took less than 10 minutes. Car is in great condition with low miles and lots of safety features. Would highly recommend Friendship Hyundai and Joe, our sales person.

I broke down on 81 near Bristol heading home to VA and my Hyundai Sonata died. I had it towed to Friendship Hyundai. It was on a Sunday so I had friends to drive me home over 200 miles. I had to call on Monday. Brandon and Rodney was excellent. They fixed my car and it was a great experience. They did not mind that I called several times just to make sure I knew what the problem was. The jet me updated. I picked up my car this passed Saturday. I want to say Thank You for all they did. We are from SC and drove up to purchase a car at the end of August. The salesman was very friendly but the dealership hits you with so many hidden fees. Luckily we caught them and saved an additional amount. We choose to have them take care of your taxes, title and tag, since we both work full time. Well I just received a letter in the mail nearly two months late saying that they will only be taking care of our taxes. I called the salesman and he was kind enough to give me the number for the tag department. I spoke with Elaine who was very rude and did not want to help until I pushed her for the answers. She at the beginning informed me that the salesman do not know the laws of SC and it was not correct that they would be covering my tag. When I told her that was not true, she said Well typically we do get tags but because of covid we are not covering it. I wish that they had told us that at the time of the purchase or at least called us to let us know.

My car malfunctioned while out of state on a road trip, and I am so lucky that this dealership happened to be the closest one. It was almost closing time on New Years Eve when we pulled in, and the folks at Friendship Hyundai did everything they could to help get us back on the road. We were in a rental car and on our way within an hour, and they made sure to touch base with me multiple times to let me know what was going on and communicate what steps I would need to take to be reunited with my vehicle. Although it was an unfortunate situation to be in, this was the best experience Ive had at a Hyundai dealership thus far.

Im back and forth with my review, on one hand, the salesmen are friendly and seem to know what they are talking about. On the other hand, it took 3 trips to the dealership to accomplish the same objective, which was to complete an adequate test drive, which included highway speeds, stop and go, and curves. As another review had mentioned, the salesmen rides with you per company policy, however, Ive bought multiple cars from Friendship in general, test drove that many more, and this has been the only location that seems to enforce that if it truly is a company policy. Where other lots Ive been on under the Friendship name( Ford, Hyundai of Johnson City, Jeep, etc. ) have either asked or even encouraged an extended or overnight test drive, I had to sign a deal sheet before they would consider letting me keep the car overnight in Bristol, which included picking the car up at close, and returning at opening. I wasnt overly thrilled with the detail job of the vehicle either, had friends and family question whether it had even been cleaned when they got in it the day I bought it, with sticker rings and haze still on the windshield, dirty dash that needed to be wiped down, and oxidized headlights, unique to Bristol. Lack of full tank of gas at time of purchase was another downer, and seems to be unique to this dealership as well, which would have cost all of $20-$30. Service department seemed nice, and the finance manager was great, but all in all, had I been purchasing a new car and could have gotten it from a different dealership, or at least a different Friendship location, I would have.

I am a professional consumer advocate. On August 17, 2020 I was at Friendship Hyundai in Bristol assisting a client who needed to address some issues with deceptive and unethical business practices. I observed that the client was deceptively coerced into a $12900 car purchase that resulted in a loan that would cost her well over $25k. This was all documented in the paperwork we reviewed. The dealer made several hard credit inquiries, filled out information for the credit report incorrectly resulting in an astronomical interest rate, attempted to extort more money by stuffing the deal with unneeded warranties, gap insurance and document fees for botched paperwork totaling more than $7500 above the price of the car. They also paid well below wholesale for the trade in and refused to provide any explanation of this.The sales manager attempted to claim that one of the warranties was actually built into the price of the car until it was pointed out that this was a separate contract and was separately listed on the purchase documents. He literally wrote an IOU scribbled in sharpie on a piece of paper saying he would refund it off the price and tossed it at us.The dealership withheld the 2nd key to the vehicle and attempted to make the buyer also purchase an additional key. They then produced it after the fact claiming it was then a courtesy key. It was old, dirty and had been used. It was clearly the key they had withheld during the original sale, not a new one. There was no access given to the vehicle for programming the fob that would have been required had it been a brand new courtesy key. (upward of $400 if you buy one of these)I would not recommend this dealership based on the deceptive and unethical business practices I observed while present there. Furthermore, I have reason to believe due to specific remarks made during the visit, this dealer engaged in sexist practices toward women and preys on those who may be younger in age or viewed as inexperienced in the world of car purchasing.The buyer made the mistake of disclosing the magic number--where she wanted her monthly payment to be. The salesperson and finance department stuffed the deal and spread out the length of the loan so that her monthly payment was still the same but she just paid it longer. The interest rates were excessive. Thats how you take a $12900 car and it ends up costing more than $25kThe dealership is currently refusing to deal with the buyer after their deceptive scheme was uncovered and they were given the opportunity to make it right. They have also refused to reimburse $700 worth of document and processing fees charged to the buyer when they did not provide adequate document and processing--these documents contained a plethora of incorrect information resulting in the buyers interest rate. I am including a photo of the IOU that was mentioned for reference.

DONT EVER buy from Friendship Hyundai of Bristol. My window sticker stated my car has navigation and heated seats and it doesnt have either. So I called to see what could be done to fix the situation and they tell me nothing because it would cost like 3000.00. And they have a 3rd party do the window stickers. So I asked the general manager, I believe he said his name was Richard .. you dont proof read the stickers before putting them on the vehicles? He said No. Keep in mind this is the 3rd or 4th car that I have bought from Friendship. DONT BUY FROM FRIENDSHIP HYUNDAI OF BRISTOL.

I will NEVER buy a vehicle from them again! especially a used one. I had nothing but problems out of the vehicle I bought here from the time I drove it off the lot until I got rid of it less than a year later. Lost thousands of dollars!! In less than 3 weeks of owning it, the Engine light came on and while I was having it checked out at another dealerships service center (not owned by Friendship) I was told there was NO oil on the dipstick!!! Hundreds of dollars spent on repairs in less than 6 months of having it. Poor customer service.

This review is for the service department. WONDERFUL SERVICE!!!! We blew out a tire on a cross country trip and no one in the area could help us. Thank goodness for Friendship Hyundai service department!They were friendly, professional and super quick! Not only did they have the tire, they checked over the car and helped us with a couple of other minor item that needed attention from the road trip. Service performed was tire rotation and balance. Upon arriving home, discovered:1. One tire valve cap missing2. Two of tires were over 1 PSI off from the others3. Torque incorrect on some of the lugsThese are all pretty easy things to check and get right. Tire balance seems fine but overall, shouldnt sacrifice safety and quality of the overall service.

My 2013 Hyundai Sonata suddenly experienced a loss of power as I was on I-81 and was able to Exit quickly!! I called Friendship and made arrangements to get a loaner as it was almost closing time and called Exit 7 Towing and was taken to Friendship! The service advisor had made arrangements for a car and all I had to do show my identification, sign my name and head on home to Abingdon! The next morning I received a call from the service advisor that my car had been checked and had serious engine problems and Hyundai had been contacted and was awaiting their decision on how to proceed and could possibly require a new engine!! I was later advised that the engine needed to be replaced and that Hyundai was sending one asap and it would be covered under my 100,000 mile warranty and they would also furnish me a rental car, which would also be covered!! All I needed was to return the loaner and pickup the rental car! I could not believe what was happening!! Especially since I was supposed to leave for vacation on Sunday and I did!! And on Wednesday, I received another call from Friendship that my car was completely repaired and checked out and could be picked up any time!! Again, I was totally SHOCKED!! I explained that I was not scheduled to return until Sunday!! I was told that it was not a problem; just enjoy the rest of my vacation and pick up my car on Monday, which I did!! This complete experience was as pleasant as it could possibly be!! Everyone was so nice and eager to help me assure me that everything was being taken care, which it was completely!! I signed the service work order that showed BIG 0, turned in the keys to the rental car and drove off in my car that runs like a brand NEW car!! It has now been two weeks and my car is running perfectly!! I would like to thank everyone at Friendship Hyundai Service Department as well as Hyundai Motors for turning a very negative experience into a totally positive experience!! Fourth Friendship purchase, 2015 Hyundai Veloster. Thought I had a better deal in another city. Friendship said they couldn’t beat the other deal. When I examined the other dealers car it was obvious why it was priced below market value. Went back to Friendship and they gave me a great deal on this Veloster. Randy, Dustin and the crew are great to work with on a vehicle purchase.

On 6-21-19, my father purchased a 2003 Cadillac Escalade from this dealership. He paid $7,300 in cash for this beautiful vehicle. Process was easy and everything was great. Drove off with the temporary dealer tag and came home to NC to register the new to us vehicle. When he went to the NC DMV, he was informed that they could not process the Title as there was a problem with it. He was told to call the dealership as they are the ones who sold him the vehicle. He has called more than 25 times and has received no assistance from the dealership and has been told that it is not their problem. He was also told by the dealership that its not their problem and both states DMVs claim that the title issue IS the dealerships issue as they should not have sold a vehicle with title issues. The vehicle has been sitting in our driveway since June of 2019 due to the fact that the state of NC cannot issue a registration because of a problem with the title. Interestingly enough, no one has told us what the issue with the title is. My father was told to contact the Better Business Bureau by both the TN & NC DMVs as dealerships should ensure a clean title before sale. I know that this review will receive the standard scripted response, we are sorry for the inconvenience, blah, blah, blah, but this issue needs to be addressed now as it has been 9 months and the vehicle sits in our driveway. We are hoping to get this issue solved before we contact the BBB and other consumer protection agencies.

This place is awesome and the specialist I dealt with, Chris Mullins, was great to work with; he was patient while I talked his ear off and had a dry sense of humor when he introduced me to the cardboard cut out of the service leader who had left for the day...I have always heard great things about friendship dealerships and now I understand why...if you need a car, new or used, definitely go to Friendship Auto in Bristol and ask for Chris Mullins cause he is upfront, honest and kind! I will be a customer for life!

I went to test drive a vehicle, and the salesman comes with you...I just wanted the company to know that that is a big turn off, that says I dont trust you and also you cant enjoy the vehicle because your nervous about being in a car with a stranger and just makes a bad experience. You should ASK if its ok if you go on the test drive, if they say sure thats great, if they say they would prefer you not get their insurance info...I buy brand new cars almost every year and I will NEVER buy from a company where they go with you on the test drive! The staff was nice its not their fault I know, but I will say there was some untrue bs said during test drive to try to make the car sound better- if you dont know what your talking about dont say it, let the car speak for itself.

My boyfriend and I went to purchase a vehicle today. At first we had a little bit of trouble getting them to honor the price we were given online, but we were able to talk to them and they worked it out to get us the price we could afford. We didn’t end up with the exact car we went after, but we’re still happy with what we ended up with. Everyone we spoke with today was very friendly, and even stayed 2 hours after closing to get it all wrapped up and taken care of. My family and I broke down on I81S in our 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The engine blew on our 2.0T. Well there service department and sales department were great. I would deal with that staff again but I would never,EVER buy another Hyundai again. The 2.0T is junk. We spent $25000 on a car we got $900 for.Thanks Friendship Hyundai for selling us a Chevy!****
