Theyre rude and low ballers! Scam artists and deceivers! They love giving you way less for your equipment and the vintage department needs tweaking because they love scamming customers, BEWARE! Ive noticed they dont have as much business like they had before the changes to the Bridgeton Mo store. They need to evaluate their customer service... People bought instruments based upon their hands on the instruments, but stopped them from doing that, etc. Im not going to be coming there as much as I used to if at all. They are not going to last long there. I remember Mars Music did the same and they didnt last. Goodbye GC!!!!!!

Not as good as it used to be. They have pretty well eliminated used gear in the Bridgeton, Mo store. Still a cool place to look for newbies, and if you need some picks, strings, etc.

I was knowing sold a multi-thousand dollar guitar. When I returned they knew exactly what was wrong as theyd noticed it themselves. Great for making an easy return, but if you knew it was broken why did you put it out on the floor?!If this was the only bad experience Id leave it at that. Ill give it two stars as there are at least two people on staff who are friendly and seem decently knowledgeable.

OK place for musical needs.. good selection of gear.. EDIT: I stopped shopping there because of the staff and their behavior and their refusal to work with people as well as their annoying attitudes. They collect alot of nice guitars, as theyre not interested in selling them or making deals on them at reasonable prices. I have spent and traded probably 6-7k in gear there in the past. I wont be back -2 ☆ from previous rating.

Staff had absolutely no product knowledge. Salesmanship skills are utterly lacking. When I finally found someone who knew what I was talking about, he (she? I couldnt tell which) was rude, obnoxious and dismissive. Guitar Center will never get another dollar from me.

Usually Im not a big fan of large chain music stores, but my experiences with employees here is what makes my visits always great and makes me want to come back. Everyone is always in a good mood and ready to answer any and all questions. They are also mostly all fairly informed about the products and making recommendations for people who may just be starting into playing, recording, or even DJing music.

Guitar repair. My son recently got a guitar and one of his strings already broke. I went without knowing what the procedure was for getting it fixed but it turned out to be a $13 visit.I walked in and immediately to the right I saw him repairing a guitar. He said that he could fix mine for about $8, including installation and parts. He told me that they have other strings that rave a cost on then that allows them to last longer than the ones without. Good info to know. I also bought a $5 pack of guitar picks.Great customer service. They were able to accommodate my immediate need. Note: if you want to get more than one string repaired, youll need to leave it for a couple days.

Guitar center takes care of all my acoustic guitar mods! They are very professional and knowledgeable! The place is beautiful inside! All the different areas for different music needs. You can even practice there!

We purchased a vintage amp from an out of state Guitar Center, and though it shipped fast and was packaged well, the amp was in terrible shape (advertised in good condition). We were able to return the amp to this local Guitar Center and they were helpful, friendly, apologetic and gave us no trouble about the return. They seem knowledgeable as well, and carry a pretty nice selection.

First time in, we were looking for a drum kit. “Zach in drums” was SUPER helpful and knowledgeable. He helped us find a fantastic set up, and other little things to help us as first timers. I highly recommend you talk to him about all your drumming needs!

Staff was super friendly and suggested several things for me based on my request for a gift for my husbands birthday. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Its one of my husbands favorite places. I see why.

Bought an Amp with 2 year insurance on it and was told I could bring it back for any reason for a refund/exchange. When I did so, store manager Tweet told me I would need to take it to the closest manufacturer repair site instead, wherever that may be.Also, was there when a truck came in one time. Employees literally picked through all the best equipment for themselves before putting anything left over on the shelf. They also put knowingly faulty guitars/equipment I returned (due to the poor quality at this store) back on the shelf for other customers to unwittingly buy. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Nice set up, organized and clean. But the bug draw was the salesman we dealt with; he was very knowledgeable, communicative, good listener, and eager to get us what we wanted in a nonpushy sort of way. From someone that cant stand salespeople, I liked this guy!

Went recently for an online return. Service was great and absolutely no hassle.

My husband went here. The first time it was so busy he just came back home cuz he couldnt get any help. He went again a few days later looking for a guitar case. They didnt have it in stock. Said they could order it and he would get it in about a week or two. So once again, he came home.

Guitar Center has always been a great place in my opinion. There friendly and very helpful. My daughter has received great violin info. My bonus son now takes piano lessons there with an instrument and he loves it! It can be a free field trip to get family out the house, just by playing and sampling the instruments. Try it sometime.

Went to have my guitar restrung and though it was too damaged to be serviceable, L.A. was very knowledgeable and friendly and helpful in my understanding of what the problem was. Other staff were also helpful, and I ended up buying a new guitar which suits what I need. But perhaps the store could keep more than two acoustic lefties in stock.

Guitar center has become the home of of low end unintresting guitars. I purchased the Guitar Center mim exclusive blue burst fender Stratocastrer. Beautiful as it was, to my disappointment it was one of the worst pickups ever. No set up at all, couldnt even get it in tune. The frets were sharp and unfinished and the pickups were worse than guitars half that price. The one thing that saved them from further nonpurchases was they took it back no questions asked. With a hot credit in hand I still couldnt find a thing to fill the spot that wasnt a better value somewhere else.

They were extremely helpful and friendly at the same time. They directed me to exactly where I needed, told me what was the best option, and told me straight out what they ere going to do to my guitar. Highly recommend this place if you ever need a string change are just looking for a new guitar!

So here is the issue... I purchased a product from Guitar Center right before COVID-19 broke out and shut down all of the stores in my area and the next city over. I wanted to return the product that I purchased well within the return policy because of a poor quality product. Now that all of the stores are closed I was not able to return the product. I contacted online sales and customer service to make the return but they are not able to process in store purchase returns. I was then told by customer service that when store open back up that they will be honoring full returns including warranty’s and services. Now that stores are open I go in to make the return and they will not refund the warranty that I purchased on the product. Not only will they not return the money issued for the warranty they will not honor any type of store credit or make it right. I was told more than once that the full return would be issued once stores are reopen. The store did nothing to make this right and as a customer I am not satisfied. You get pressured into purchasing a warranty that come to find out is not even issued through the store you purchase it from just some average third party insurance company. Other mainstream retailers have much better policy’s in place and are doing a much better taking care of their customers. I will never purchase from Guitar Center again because of the poor service that was received in addition to the miss information that was given. DO NOT BUY and Warranty from this merchant you will be highly disappointed as am I. Guitar Center you need to do better and take care of your customers at any cost I understand that some things can’t be done but in those situations you do right by the customer and offer a discount or store credit. Come up with some type of solution versus just offering nothing and just let the customer loose a good deal of money. People are suffering enough with a Global pandemic taking money from them in addition to that is in extremely disrespectful. Offer something versus a blank look and shrugged shoulders saying there’s nothing you can do... Poor Service, Poor Quality, Unacceptable Customer Experience.

My daughter comes here for guitar lessons. She is progressing well and enjoys coming here for her classes and likes her instructor. I like the fact that she was able to come during an open house and meet a bunch of instructors and pick one instead of being assigned one.
