There is a great store with a big variety of items, including hard to find exotic ingredients. The biggest drawback is that it has higher prices. However, the quality is very high and this store provides a lot of locally made food. Much of your money will remain local as a result.

My mom was getting a bit desperate, due to the fact that she had planned to make a big batch of spring rolls for our familys upcoming Christmas gathering. Her usual supplier of spring roll wrappers in Bangor had sold out, so I gave Tiller & Rye a call. Sure enough, they had plenty.Out of gratitude, I also picked up some of the Cafes offerings -- the Sesame Noodles and the Curry Chicken, which I am about to enjoy. Also, just want to mention that the staff was cheerful and friendly. This was my first visit to Tiller & Rye, but it wont be my last.

Tiller and Rye brings grocery shopping to a refreshingly new high. What keeps me crossing the bridge to this up scale market is the joyful congeniality and quality of customer service matched with product variety and many locally sourced ... such as the bread.. made by a wonderful baker in Bangor.....Biggi’s organic bread .I found my favorite Brooklyn made sesame / chocolate candy on the shelves when I thought I would never again find this treat from the 1950s I enjoyed as a kid.I love their chicken salad, curry salad, potato salad and broccoli salad.... only 7.50 a pound.I could go on... the pleasant scent, the unique greeting cards...It’s like a cross between Whole Foods and a local country store.... a positive delight!Thank you Tiller and Rye!
