Neat little store... friendly owner.. would have given 5 stars.. but, inventory is eclectic due to an impending retirement...
The owner is helpful and nice. Very talkative if you are a musician. Very open to suggest open mic nights that are available if youre looking.
It was great, found what I was looking for.
Smaller store, has knowledgeable staff, would come back to buy again
Danny is a genuine cool guy, but to be fair I can see why some people might be put off by him. Just think of him like Yoda. You go to listen, and you go with an open mind. You dont seek Yoda unless you are humble, and if he tells you something you dont like to hear, its probably because its the truth and the truth hurts. I caught him as he was closing up, but he let me in and let me check out his guitars. He offered a world of knowledge and was very pleasant to talk with. I ended up staying there for almost 2 hours past his closing time. His conversation was very enlightening, and much appreciated. Give this man your business, and dont let his Yoda like aura upset you. I think hes that way because he actually gives a fawk about music and the products he sells.
Kitsaps hometown, homegrown, music store. Dan is super knowledgeable and is always happy to see you come in. Better service and friendlier than the chain store guys.
Super knowledgeable owner, walked us through everything needed for a first electric guitar for our son. Really wonderful experience
The only real music store in kitsap. The place is an institution it has a history
Dan is a musician, which to me makes him a real, and down to earth store owner. If you need it and its available, there you are. Also with information on how the sales industry is moving, giving you an opportunity to make a sound decision on your purchase. Very, very, knowledgeable staff, attentive and willing too meet your needs. And,I always get some of the most, well balanced 🥁 sticks there.
Left feeling like you were trying to make us feel inferior on purpose... Good luck with that. I see why you have bad reviews.
Great customer service!
Every time we have shopped here we have received excellent service. My son wanted to buy a guitar but needed to earn the money for it first. He went in several times to look at the guitars and always he was treated kindly and was offered excellent advice. The owner gave freely of his time and expertise. I highly recommend this shop.
Wonderful, informative place. Went in looking to branch out musically and was given a wealth of information so that I could make the most informed decision. As a seasoned musician and teacher, I would highly recommend going here. They are only here to help you out. An instrument is an investment and they definitely will help you make the best choice.
I normally dont write reviews but I was so overwhelmed by the unkindness of the store owner and the coldness of the workers there... I brought some younger children with me check out some instruments that they were interested in, and as soon as they began touching instruments they were yelled at... Ive been playing music for almost 25 years, been to music stores all over the country, and I have never been in a more constricted, overpriced, cold, inhospitable, uninviting environment before in my life!
Sold me many years ago, the most gorgeous sounding guitar Ive ever owned! This guy knows his stuff! And not just guitars, but almost ANYTHING musical! He knows it!
This place is incredible. The owner is genuine and isnt condescending when asking any type of questions. Hes very informative. I went in there to look at their amps, I walked out 2 hours later with a wealth of knowledge. He took the time to explain the ins and outs of all the amps on the floor, differences between solid state and tube. From the new models to old styles. Down to the differences in the circuitry. I was amazed that he didnt try to sell me on the gear, but listened to what I wanted and helped me understand how to obtain the sound that I would like. Kitsap music will always have my business. The best part? He did all that after I said that I was just looking and not in the position to buy.
Nicest guy helped me buy a music stand, a cool Ukelele, and a book w/DVD on how to play. Ill be back. Plus he carried my stuff out for me to my Jeep and let me use the potty. As long as I put the seat back UP! HA.
Great customer support and knowledgeable employees. Only complaint is the lack of brands, but if thats an issue, theres always online
Just called to ask about music in the community and the person who answered the phone was incredibly helpful! They went out of their way to provide assistance for my question, even though it was a bit strange. :-)
Was looking for a bass guitar fir my grandson. Went there 3 times and never open. Went some were else and got one.
Shop was closed but he opened up shop to let me buy a guitar
I really dont understand why this store is getting bad reviews! Every time we go in, the guy working there is super friendly. He is very knowledgeable and supportive of local musicians. Even on the few occasions where we didnt end up buying anything, he gave us advice or recommended another local artist for us to listen to. Sometimes, we go in just to chat with him or for something as simple as cables we could have bought for cheaper elsewhere. It may not be the best place if you are looking for cheap products or if you are a new musician that has no idea what you are looking for, but I would highly recommend it for established musicians and/or people looking for high quality instruments.
A very special thanks to Kitsap Music for making some combat luthiery possible. Fresh strings and a hardwired Planet Waves cable and were back to a duet.Cant thank you enough! Good vibes coming to you from Bremerton!Dr. Craig Walker2Mile ProjectKalispell, Montana
I have two small children who I would like to expose to music and see if either of them had a liking for playing an instrument.Rather than buying an affordable guitar online, my husband and I decided that we would like to support local business and make our purchase in town. The first company that came to mind was Kitsap Music. We have never been in the store but have driven by many times and when the little ones expressed interest in musical instruments it seemed like the right place to start. Our mistake was quickly relized with one call to the store!!! My husband inquired about a starter instrument that would be affordable....say around $50.00 (my kids are 7 & 8 after all!!). The person on the other end of the phone was just plain rude!! Basically telling us that if we purchased a $50 guitar it would be crap. That our kids would never learn anything on them and that we would never be able to find an instrument in that price range and that he only sells new stuff....to which my husband responded Im looking at a bunch affordable new guitars online right now. After the person on the other end of the phone heard that he immediately said Good luck with that, thanks for the call and hung up!!!I like to shop local...but this was just offensive and rude. I will never shop here and will never recommend anyone I know shop here....which is sad...cause like I said...I like to support local business! :(
If I could give its zero Stars I would. I went in today looking to get an A String on my daughters guitar. The guy behind the register said he didnt have any A strings. I said youre kidding with a smile on my face. The guy behind the register said no Im not kidding would you like me to say it again slower? in an exceptionally condescending voice. I told him to give me the guitar back and that I would never shop there again; he came really close to eating a guitar....
So i know that this place has gotten a few bad reviews, but I can tell you why. The guy that runs it ( or at least the one who was working that day) is not looking for customers. Now I know that sounds odd, but hear me out. Hes looking for musicians. Remember working at Mcdonalds, or whatever retail place you start out at? People come in, and they dont know the menu, or the selection, and they just ask for whatever theyre looking for. The first few times, it makes sense, its like, okay I understand, youre wanting a digital piano, but you went for the synthesizer first. Its like asking for a Whopper at Mcdonalds. The first few times, you can be nice, but after a while it gets old. Thats this guy. After a few too many people coming in and asking for just guitar strings, it eats you. This man loves music, and thusly, musicians. Its more than appropriate service for the customer that knows what theyre looking for. 5 stars.
My son plays tenor sax and always runs out reeds last minute and they are always so nice to him in there!
Great service from a guy that lives for music
Dan rocks he knows music
Kind and helpful.
