Had the best car repair experience, ever! They are nice, honest, and thorough. I live an hour south of this shop but will make the drive every time because it is so hard to find auto repair shops who are this great. I highly recommend them!

The team here really knows what they were doing and I trusted them with my 2019 Corvette to replace the exhaust with an aftermarket Flowmaster setup. Miller did an incredible job and made sure that everything fit absolutely perfectly before he would take it off the rack. He even spent time making sure the tips out the back lined up... better than the factory! Highly recommend coming here for exhaust work for any vehicle, old or new.

This place was amazing. I called them Saturday morning about getting exhaust work done. Said that they would fit me in. It took me an hour to get there. They took me in and did an amazing job. Would recommend for any of your needs.

I went to this location on Tuesday 4/13 at about 1 to get an oil change . I was told that “they were closing at 3 to get the parking lot fixed” . Even though it was 2 hours till they closed I just said okay & left. Came back the next afternoon at around 1:30 & they said “they were about to start going on lunches” . So I left again .. then TODAY at 10:30 am I show up and the response was “well we’re taking appointments for next week” . Like 3 damn times I’ve tried to come here for a oil change which doesn’t take that long to do!!! Don’t worry I won’t be trying again .

I have been a long time customer of Tom at another shop and have brought my business here because of him. He is trustworthy - if he tells you a repair is needed it truly is needed. If it can be postponed without endangering safety he will make you aware of longer term options. He will do things as economically as possible without compromising safety.

I’m a first time car owner and the people working here are awesome! They did everything they could to fix my car and it’s running perfectly now. They were good on updating me on things and explaining everything to me. This is the only mechanic I’ll go to!

I gave one star because the person behind the desk did greet me. I do understand we must wear mask and I was putting my mask on, looping it on my ear so it was covering my face. I asked while doing so what was the price of an oil change. The person behind the counter response was and I quote “you must have a mask on.” Keep in mind my face is covered. But I quickly look over at the Caucasian gentleman sitting inside. Less than 6 feet from the guy behind the counter, quickly put his mask on. In short I was clearly discriminated against. He did give me a price, however I took my coins and service somewhere else.

Went to the Brandon location on a saturday morning, walked in the office and the older gentlemen behind the counter was rude and unprofessional. Simply took my business elsewhere.

First off, I had a guy knock on my door one day and well, who does that anymore? So it was kinda alarming. I opened the door and rudely said, “what are you selling?” ‘Nothing. I’m just letting people know about Mad Hatter mechanic shop.” Long pause... “Really?” I said. “Mad Hatter?” Well that’s fun, Sorry for my rudeness, do go on sir. And that led to a :30 minute conversation about old school business practices and sales. I never got a sales pitch. It was just in person information. So, I read all these reviews before I found my mechanic, looking through several. Wow. They were right! Tom’s and his crew (shout out to Ben who worked on mine) were fair, honest and most of all, patient. They answered my questions and explained everything easily. Money well spent- I had a lot of stuff done so it was a lot to spend. Can’t recommend Mad Hatter enough. And the work? Super fast and reliable. These guys know their stuff. There were a couple things that needed to be adjusted after pick up. Tom worked w/ my schedule, not the other way around. And he included the fixes as part of my bill already paid and he didn’t have to. My 2010 Tahoe drives like its new. Can’t recommend these guys enough👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They don’t give us a reply button to whoever responds to these reviews but I’m glad they did because I’m not done. Yes i am satisfied with my tips, they look nice and they are up to my standards. You didn’t respond to the the bolts coming loose that they installed from my headers to the exhaust. The men at the shop showed me nothing but respect and that’s what they got in return. They have very nice cars at the shop which i also took a look at and they work speaks for itself. I’m just not understanding why MY truck had to be overpriced and not even finished. I have pics i just took 15 minutes ago of the “hangers” you guys installed both broken. One of them even ripped off a hole in the exhaust smh. And everything i mention i have proof I’m just on a phone right now and can’t upload my photos. So with what i was priced i got “Custom straight pipe lol” idk what’s Custom about straights but that’s what the receipt says and that came with 4 loose bolts and 2 broken hangers. So now since I’m out of state i have to pay to get hangers welded back to the exhaust and here another excuse from whoever it is responding to these reviews. I’ll be posting the pics later on today so I’ll be ready to see what the response is to those. You all have a nice day and may god continue to bless your hearts.

Awesome service experience! We went in knowing we needed brakes, but we also needed a few other things which extended our time there. We enjoyed great conversation with the owner while we waited, which really made us feel the personal touch of that establishment.Since being in Tampa for the last 2 years, this is the only place we trust to service our car - they are friendly, and the pricing is fair. Okay so where do I begin. Well I have a Camaro that I wanted to start with small muffler work and these guys here took great care of my pride and joy. Ben was the one who work on my car he is great. Now the man behind the counter delivered great customer service and I very customer service centric that is the MAIN thing I go off of and they did it here and the owner great person. I can’t say enough about this place but the fact that I will be BACK for more work. And to the people who are reading this review don’t believe all that mess on those one to two starts cause no joke these guys are awesome.

My brakes were squeaking the next day; mind you Ive had four cars and I have never had that happen. I bought a Groupon for this business and my name is definitely in their system because they had me fill out paperwork and its on a copy of the receipt that they gave me. I was forewarned by Groupon reviews there is an upcharge if your car uses brake shoes rather than brake pads. So I went ahead and brought bought my own brake shoes from Auto Zone and because of that there is conveniently no warranty on the job. In addition to that, they made me wait for about 2 hours, with no type of update. And they told me when I came in that my car will be finished shortly, but they didnt even pull my car in until after a hour.Response: What service the Groupon covers is not the issue. I bought a Groupon for my brakes to be changed and that was done, poorly. If Drum brakes also takes longer to replace, let the customer know that rather than lying to them and saying it will be out shortly and then having sit unaware. Being sorry that I feel that way doesnt address anything and its almost been a year, you guys provided bad service, period.

These people are honest and fair! I had front and rear brakes as well as rear rotors and an oil change done today. The waiting room is nice and clean with free coffee, a tv and a soda machine. But, I told him what I needed to have done, he gave me a time frame for the job, I asked what time they closed, he tells me, and I thank him and walk out. I used to deliver parts to this location so I was fairly Familiar with the staff so I decided to take my Project car there for some repairs. This is the only Automotive repair shop I use when in Brandon. I have an older truck and routinely pull a trailer from Connecticut to Brandon. Management is always helpful in accommodating my schedule and offering advice on repairs. Their technicians are excellent and have always done the job correctly the first time. Pricing is extremely fair. I have been with this shop for the last three years and have no reason to go anywhere else. Thank you for the excellent service.

My break lights wouldnt turn off, even when the car was off, with no key in the ignition. I know very little about car problems, but I know that a lot of places rip you off. So I carefully went through the Google reviews, and found that the Mad Hatter is nearly 5 stars, with only a couple of bad reviews, with the owner putting up good counterstrikes for them. They were pretty much just people being mad, and trying to give the business a bad name. I was told on the phone that it would probably be about $60. When I got there, the gentleman at the desk, was busy with another customer, and had to make a quick phone call, and he nicely told me that, Ill be with you in just a moment sir. The mechanic asked me what the problem was, I told him, he took my keys, and literally had it done within 5 minutes, not even exaggerating. He politely gave me my keys back and told me what was wrong. The man at the desk was just finishing up what he had to do, as the mechanic was giving me my keys back. I was a first time customer, so he had to put everything in the computer. He was nice, quick, and it ending up only costing me $25. I will definitely be going back here to get my breaks replaced and probably to get my oil leak fixed as well. Thanks a lot for your friendly and quick service.

As a woman who knows nothing of cars I would not recommend this place at all !!!! For the record I did not add any oil to my vehicle. I went to get an oil change where they denied to do it because the car was leaking oil so I went to this shop because it was the closest one to me, well the price was over $600 to fix. So if you are a woman and reviewing this shop and don’t know much about cars I suggest you go somewhere else because they will try to rip you off. When I decided to get a second opinion I walked into the shop and asked if they started working on my car yet and they said no so I walked in the shop where the shop manager threw my keys at me. So immediately knowing that some shops over charge young women such as myself I called my step dad and he said that I should get a second opinion which saved me $500. When I took my car to a different repair shop they laughed at how Mad Hatter said they would probably need to buy a new coil because it would break in disattachment.

I really enjoyed talking Mr. Blanchard. He was very welcoming, and friendly. I was there for an oil change, they got me in and out. I plan on going back in the future. I would definitely recommend their services.

I took my vehicle there on Saturday 8-18-2018 For some exhaust work to be done. Everybody there was very personable and professional. His prices were very reasonable and the work was done in a very timely manner. I have dealt with a lot of mechanics and auto service centers in the Brandon area and I have to say hands down, Mad Hatter is one of the best. My family owns six vehicles and I would now rather take them to Mad Hatter versus the local dealerships. I couldn’t be happier with the way I was treated there. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Great place in an equally great location in Brandon. They found out my problem in less than ten minutes (cracked Exhaust Manifold), brought me in the shop and showed me my problem from under the car. They researched a new manifold, gave me the labor cost and did it within their quoted price the next day. They are a knowledgeable, friendly group of straight shooters. I would send my wife there by herself and feel confident they will never try to take advantage of her lack of vehicle knowledge. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

The best mechanic shop with the best prices on Brandon Blvd. I recently moved to Brandon, Fl about a 1 1/2 years ago. I’ve shopped around for a mechanic all up and down Brandon Blvd and I’m glad I stopped at Mad Hatter. I’ve never been to a mechanic where I haven’t been upsold for other things. The team at Mad Hatter, is always professional and treats you like a family. I’ve had my brakes and rotors, tune up and oil change done and I’ve always left very satisfied. I don’t think I’ll trust another mechanic like I trust these guys.

After days of reading reviews I’ve decided to chime in. I was looking up exhaust shops to get some “Straight Pipes” done that’s it. I drive a 93 f150 lifted and it means a lot to me, in the restoring process. The two pipes were “Custom” well one pipe was “Custom” because it ran from the header on one side and had to cross to the other side because i wanted to avoid coming close to the front gas tank. The other pipe went straight back no problem. I won’t say won’t the price was because i was quoted pricing from 3 other shops that were half the price smfh. But i chose them simply because they were up the street and i rushed through the reviews. So the actual finishing job was pretty clean i thought when i looked under the truck at the shop. When i got home i noticed they ran out of pipe for the side that had to cross over so they welded like an extra foot of pipe at the end to make both the same length. Only problem is one side was clean all the way through and the other side had the weld markings on the end of the pipes. I went back to see what can be done about since I’m guessing no one would want a “Custom exhaust” looking not custom. I was charged to add tips but no the labor so i guess it kinda was deal since i didn’t get what i wanted in the first place a “custom exhaust”. Also my bolts from the headers to the exhaust wasn’t tighten and came off, luckily when i drove my truck out of town i washed it and seen that my clamps were dangling with no screws. I called the shop they said bring it by lol not to mention I’m 7 hours away. So i just went to Home Depot and bought me some screws, washers, and nuts.

They are very good friendly respectful and very professional they took care of my car and fixed it without any problems everything was good the car was running beautiful day on time and a very quick to attend you you don’t have to have a long wait and they even asked if I wanted to leave the car overnight so I didn’t have to take it back on and take a risk of driving it and I recommend him to everybody who needs a mechanic they are very reasonable prices I would say that the cheapest prices I have any mechanic I’ve been to

Great service! I took my newly bought used car in to make sure it was safe for my 10 month old. They did an excellent job with the breaks, replacing control arm, installing a new battery, oil change, new tire, in a timely manner. You get what you pay for. I don’t mind paying for quality!

I had found out about this place when I was looking for lift kits I did not end up buying one then. When I saw they opened a location near me and after hearing a lot of good things I decided to try it out. 11.99 oil change you cant bear it. The people I interacted with where all professional. I will definitely be back for other things besides oil changes.

Had front suspension with a knocking noise on my 2004 Ford FX4, they were able to locate the noise and fix quickly and fairly priced. I had this truck at 2 other shops for the same problem and was told by 1 of them I needed all of the front end parts replaced. Mad Hatter found out is was just 1 lower ball joint causing the issue and replaced it for me. No more noise now, and very happy with the repair that was done

I was so stressed out leaving my dealership where I bought my car and they were saying I needed all kinds on repairs on my car, I was in the Brandon area and happened to call MadHatter and they agreed to service me right away, even though they were busy on a Saturday morning. The service was exceptional and he was very honest about what I needed and didn’t need and as a woman that is a HUGE deal. I will be back for sure!

Was riding on 4th of July and I just happen to notice they were open. Stopped in to get my a/c checked out and the owners customer service was amazing! Took the time to investigate the issue and provided me with a very fair quote for repairs. They gained a new customer just off their customer service alone

I used a Groupon as synthetic oil isnt cheap! I got a good deal here. The wait was very long and when I left, my tire indicator came on that the tires were low in air. They didnt check them but were supposed to as part of the deal. My Dad had to take care of it. I will go elsewhere next time. PLUS Fox news was on in the waiting room. I wanted to rip my ears off! 1.5 hrs. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

I was in need in getting my AC repair on my truck. I went to the Mad Hatter they worked prompt on my truck. When my husband told them the AC still not working properly, the mechanic did not get upset they understood our concern and re check it again and even gave us discount. We are a happy customer.

Showed up for a simple quote that would take absolutely no time at all at 1130am and front desk guy showed no efforts and interest in helping cuz they close at 2pm. I was not trying to get the job done today at all. Took my money and business to another shop.

I went there to have a catalytic converter replaced and also a tank vent solenoid on my 2003 Silverado. After having to keep my vehicle there for the weekend due to inability to get the parts my truck was finished promptly on a Monday midday. Picked the truck up and after filling the gas tank the truck stops running. The main fuel supply line became disconnected from the fuel tank. Gasoline sprayed all over the bottom of my truck as well as the street. Had AAA tow me back. Manager had the same technician that worked on it go outside and work on it again. After putting the gas feed line back on I drove home only to have the back gas tank strap come loose and dislodge my tank. I had to drain 25 gallons of gas out of my truck so I could use a ratchet strap to get the tank back up in the truck. In fairness to the shop, the manager offered to reimburse the cost of any fuel lost and to call him if he could further help me. Although I have never used this shop before the staff is friendly, the shop is clean and I do feel the manager and staff will help the customer should any problems arise.

They treated me like they wanted to keep me as a customer. They took the time necessary to ensure I was satisfied. They made sure the job I needed done was completed properly.

Im looking for a reliable honest place to take my cars. Mad Hatter sold me a discount card that includes several free oil changes and other free or discounted services. It was supposed to be a great deal, and I had hopes that Mad Hatter would be honest and reliable. However they are not. My free oil change ended up costing an extra $23 which is almost as much as the Kia dealer charges. I realized now that I got scammed by them and their discount card.Also, many of the 5-star reviews for Mad Hatter look fake. There are services where you can buy fake reviews, and many of the positive reviews here look suspicious.I dont know of any good honest auto repair shops in Brandon, but Ive learned from experience that these guys are not.

As much as I enjoy the customer service over at mad hatter the most recent exhaust work completed was just unacceptable. They have done excellent work in the past..but just wasnt impressed with the outcome this time.

I went there for Oil change, did they do good/okay job ? Yes, however their customer service sucks. Man on counter had so bad attitude and tone.I dont feel like going back there ever again. I asked few questions and he answered like it cost him money to answer that. He answered in nesty n authoritytion tone. Need to learn customer service.

Amazing service and amazing customer service and even better rates, has become my entire families ONLY mechanic shop and will continue to be as long as Shawn and Tom keep doing what there doing there ....i HIGHLY recommend this auto shop .

Tom and the crew at Mad Hatter saved me!One day, the brakes on my Jeep started making a horrible noise. I went to a big chain repair place, where they proceeded to tell me that I needed hundreds of dollars of repair work. I dont know a lot about cars, but I didnt trust what the salesman was telling me.I took my car to Tom.
