I brought in my 2004 330ci after being referred by my regular BMW mechanic for a stubborn check engine light. The guys at Import AutoWerks not only found the cause and corrected the issue, but they also gave my convertible a thorough going-over that uncovered some under-carriage problems that had escaped my attention. I was given the complete prioritized list of repairs with their costs so I could make informed decisions going forward. Although Im unhappy about having to shell out more money - not that its IAWs fault - at least I now know whats involved.

I have been bringing my car to Alvin and Russ for several years and trust them implicitly. Extremely professional as well as personable, they have always kept my best interest in mind, guiding and educating me on each problem so I am able to make an informed decision. I recently had an electrical issue. They could have done the work and charged me $700. Instead they let me know that the part was covered under an extended warranty. They could have easily taken my money but they looked out for me. Who does that? They’re simply great people!!

Great german import mechanic. I have them service my 2013 audi Q5. Only gripe is that they have too many customers and scheduling can be difficult with less than a two week lead time.

Russ, Alvin and the team are great and make you feel at ease in the process from start to finish. All the mechanics looks the they enjoy being there, not to mention they work on BMWs all day so if you have one they will likely know what is going on with your car that the shop down the street may not know. Also for the sake of your pockets they will put you on a plan of how to prioritize different fixes to your vehicle over the next 6 months while being proactive so that further issues dont occur if you delay a fix. This is my first car in life and we all know German vehicles could be a pain if you dont have reliable mechanics. These guy take pride in there work and customer service would highly recommend.

I went in for the repair of my daytime running light. Something that if I’d Googled or just opened my hood I could have done myself, but I’m so comfortable with these guys as soon as something goes wrong I call them. I don’t even check it out myself. If you’re a BMW owner and you’re looking for a repair shop, look no more. I live in Brockton and there are local shops, but I don’t feel the same positive energy whenever I’ve entered the room, so I travel to Braintree. If they need to keep my car I Uber home. It’s just that simple. There is nothing like spending your money with people who respect you, that are professional and honest. But the real upside to the whole experience is that if you have to stick around, they’re great conversationalist.

I brought my 2008 BMW to Import Auto Werks, which was recommended by a good friend who has been going there for years. I was extremely satisfied with their customer service and workmanship. They did a better job for less money than I had experienced with other dealerships. Their service was above and beyond the normal. For example, their manager, Alvin, arranged the car rental for my loaner car, but the rental service didn’t deliver. Alvin made alternate arrangements for Uber to transport me to the car rental company. I felt they took very good care of me.

Failed annual state inspection in June, 2021 due to front suspension issues (ball joints). Made appointment with IAW, took it in and drove it out back to inspection station to get renewed sticker. IAW repair was great and I get to continue to enjoy my 2000 e39 with 342k miles.In April, 2021 my 2000 528i e39 developed a terrible squealing noise. Rotational in nature and seemingly coming from left front wheel base. Brakes, bearing, what could it be? IAW to the rescue once again - removal of a hidden rock lodged between the backing plate and the rotor - and I’m back on the road. All for a reasonable price. Wonderful people, excellent knowledge, care and attention. At 341k miles, IAW is what keeps my 21 year old still going.This is an update to the below (Dec 2020): Most recent experience was the replacement of the cooling system thermostat. I had noticed that the temperature gauge was slowly failing to reach “dead” center vertical and, once again, Alvin and Russ and their team to the rescue. A correct diagnosis, professional repair and for a fair price. I continue to trust my 20.5 year old (since new), 340k e39 to them.This an update to the below (Oct 2020): Most recent experience was the replacement of a rotting out part of the fuel line. I trust IAW to find these issues on my 20 year old 340k e39 and make the repair correctly the first time for a fair price. Would not think of going anywhere else. 5+ stars.I own a 2000 BMW 528i (e39) since new. Now have 338k miles on it. Since moving to Boston 7 years ago, I have Import Auto Werks and Alvin and Russ to thank for being able to keep this wonderful car for so long. It’s great engine and manual transmission are the heart and soul of the vehicle. Never-the-less, the years and miles take their toll. Electronic module work, brake lines, torn off idler pulley to springs and struts and tires and brakes. Nothing is easy working on a 15 to 20 year old car. I was referred to Import AutoWerks by a friend after Mercedes in Westwood lost my trust. I am grateful for Import AutoWerk. Alvin & Russell are honest, professional and really nice people. They answer all my questions and address my concerns. I would hang up, realized that I had other question, call back, and they answered my questions with no hesitation. What I like most is that if they do not know the answer, their response were, let me look into it. Alvin or Russell would call be back with an answer. To me that represents professionalism and respect. Most recently, I repaired a crack spring and tension belt. I received an email with the cost and a mini video that explains the purpose of my crack springs. I was impressed! They work with enterprise to help with getting a rental. After, the repairs my car felt amazing to drive. I couldnt believe it. Lastly, during these crazy times of COVID-19 they took the extra step to clean my car before I picked it up. Very thoughtful. My sister will be coming in soon to replace her brakes on her Mercedes. I will continue to be a faithful customer and refer to has many people possible. Excellent! Prompt and courteous service from all staff members. I had the clutch changed on my 04 325xi and some important fluids flushed/refilled (brake/clutch/engine/differential/transmission). The engine on my e46 is now at 107,000 miles and recently, I changed my own spark plugs. Now the engine response is revamped and the car has been revitalized! She drives almost brand new. When I was thinking about buying a used 328xi, all my Beemer friends said that I should go there. And I am 100% happy. Russ was on the phone when my car broke down (yes... I ran out of gas...). Russ has correctly (effortlessly) diagnosed my 328xi over the phone. He is understanding that I am on a budget. He is flexible. He is even CHEERFUL. (Of course I would be cheerful too if every intelligent BMW owner trusted exclusively in me...) Never going back to a dealer again.

Leave the local BMW dealership and dont look back. This IS the place to have your BMW serviced. I have been several times and only come home happy with the work and the bill. This is my first BMW and now that I have a great garage I will be buying another certified per-owned car and after my warranty runs out I will only have them service the car.

Alvin is the most genuine and honest mechanic I know, which is why I go to him. I was driving my car one day and it began to sporadically stall. I had it towed out to Alvin, and it was diagnosed as a water damaged ECU. He replaced it, and the car ran great. Fast forward two weeks, the same issue began happening again. I called up Alvin and he had the car towed back out to his shop. He covered the tow cost as well as the new ECU and fixed the oversight from the first repair.I know that this is what you should expect given the situation, but I feel that most mechanics would find some way to charge me for something the second time around. This isnt the case with Alvin, hes a honest guy and truly cares about his customers. Highly recommended.

Stopped in to have TPMS issue resolved They found a bad sensor and replaced all four sensors with sensors that I had previously purchased..Also had them install the active Autowerks tune on my BMW 328I everything they told me about it was 100% true the tune worked perfect no more Throttle lag the shop is great.Alvin does excellent work

I stopped going to these guys about over a year now because of the distance I had to travel to go to them. The reason I decided to go see them was because they specialized in BMW and they had good reviews on yelp. I had a few things done from them like oil change, spark plugs, oil leaks etc. I’m disappointed to say that a few days ago my check engine light came on and my car starting making this whistling sound, that was coming from the engine. After doin my research and taking my car to Herb Chamber of BMW and other mechanics that specialized in German vehicles I was told I needed a new “valve cover gasket” which I had already replaced with Import AutoWerks back in August of 2016. Luckily I still had the receipt for the work they SAID they did that date. I called and spoke to RUSS whose the secretary there and was told that my warranty of a year had expired and they couldn’t do anything to help me after spending $563 on a NEW “valve cover gasket” Russ told me they buy their parts directly from BMW so it makes no sense to me how a part that’s made for your vehicle couldn’t last more than a year and a half especially that I only put 15k miles on it since they last replaced it. Russ gave me the run around and told me that there’s a cheat they can do but wouldn’t guaranteed that it will resolve my problem. I told him why do I have to pay twice and do a “cheat” to fix the very same problem I paid them to do less than two years ago. He said “there’s nothing I can do for you buddy, hahaha sorry” In a very sarcastic way. He said to fix the problem I needed to pay them another $563. He knows the job they did was not done correctly. At this point I don’t know if they even replaced the part. You’ve been warned! Don’t let the good reviews fool you.

I use to go to the dealer for repairs but their labor hours are too much and I feel like a second-class citizen at the dealer. Alvin and Russel are friendly and honest businessmen. After waiting for response about car. 2 hours after opening for business, called and said he could get the hood open and in order to do so.....500.00!???? I declined. However, a spray of wd40 on latch....and its open. However, the fact that he told me to get my car out of here. Rather than explaning why I need to pay 500.00. I all got was mumble mumble all parts need to be replaced. I guess life is good when you can tell someone to pay and not a exact reason to why.....Im shocked that this place has 5 star rating. Went up the street to the dealership on route 3, no 1 week wait. 2 hours later my car is in shop and expected to be picked up tomorrow. Call them now, Id bet they tell you 1 week.
