Awesomely good!! Real people lots of live bait and plenty of small town charm right off the hwy! The BEST place for bait!!

They have the best live bait in the area, they clean the tanks and change the water so the bait lives and the water isn’t slimy. Unlike every gas station that has a grandfathered in bait station which the employees had to deal with.They also have a good selection of common tackle for year around fishing. Plus, they are open more hours than I’m awake in a day.

Tim took us out fishing today, and it was so amazing! Great lake, really comfortable boat, and Tim is a really friendly, helpful guide, and knows where to find the fish. I think the other reviewer thought they were reviewing a different business, because this is 6 stars out of 5!!!!

Not polite/poor customer service. No knowledge of baits especially when they claim to be the biggest bait shop in town. Dont even know what mayfly larvae are. Dont waste your time there.

I am not the most experienced ice fisherman in the world but I appreciate help where I can find it. We planned a 2 week trip to a resort in the Brainard area. Called in to s&w twice to get a bearing on what they had for bait, grocery, tackle and the second for thoughts on ice condition before we left (a group of 12 people). The woman that answered the phone made me feel so stupid... She was pompous and extremely rude. Really sounded like she could have gave 2 sh!#s less. I called a local establishment 2 minutes later to find a different place to go and they told me that this place has a reputation for being unkind and self centered.

I have been dealing with the United States Post Office in respect to this tackle shop since 2015. Yes, its been 3 years now. I bought a scale from this place in December of 2015. They mailed it to me dead on arrival. When I shipped it back, they never got it.The post office in Brainerd, MN later found the box I sent torn open with the scale missing. The postal service thought as I did, they did not want to refund me so like scumbags, they just took out the scale and threw the box back in the box.It took three years, but I got paid by USPS. As an added bonus, a friend who is an FLW fisherman moved to nearby St. Mathias, MN last year and has been absolutely DESTROYING this tackle shop to other FLW guys who otherwise would have ended up there, and locals.Disgrace of a business.PS - Even if I got a working scale, it would have been a 2 star. The female owner is one of the ruder people Ive ever talked to, and Im from Philadelphia. Think about that for a minute. Seriously lady, remove the stick. Even the other girls there were completely unprofessional.

Very convenient late night stop...Open till 10pm 365 days a year. Service is hit or miss and some of the inventory has seemingly been there for years.

Horrible rooms there at the motel, lots of spiders. And plenty of black mold. Connie there likes to harass customers and be very rude and steals your belongings. They will go into your hotel room when you leave and take whatever They please. Hp
