You know, buying a used car is exciting. It can also feel like you’ve been in a fistfight and thinking “was it worth it” in the end. That’s how my life of car purchases had been. Always got to put one over on the dealer, and they have got to put one over on you. I decided that this time I was going to enjoy the process and drive away in a nice car after a nice transaction. I went to Peak Cars because I knew that they were good guys, and they only carry beautiful used cars. Well, to make a long story short, I bought a 2002 Toyota 4runner from California in perfect condition. The transaction went super smooth and Ryan’s suggestion of where to go for a loan ended up with getting a low rate and exactly the terms I was looking for. This probably sounds like a commercial for Peak, but it’s the real deal! It was my best car purchase ever.

Hey, great experience at Peak Cars with Ryan. Recently bought a van there, and pretty soon after we bought it, the check engine light came on. I called, and pretty much expected the usual well, its a used car, too bad and good luck, attitude, but Ryan said to bring it back in. It took a few tries to get it squared away, but they kept on trying, and its good to go now. So A+, nice work, and well come shopping there again for sure. Really pleased.

I sent an email about a car. I gave my budget and made an offer on a lower priced car. I asked if they wouldnt accept my offer if they had other options available to me. The response I received stated We do not have that kind of room in this vehicle That was it. No other options to work with me or see if there was anything they could do. Keep in mind this was one of their lowest priced cars. Its very clear to me that this place is only interested in selling you a car if you are loaded. They are not interested in helping out the whole community of Bozeman.

I always buy used vehicles and I have only ever used big brand name dealerships. Never again! Peak Cars is an asset for Bozeman. They are honest and have deep ties to the community. After a failed deal at a big name dealership, I went to Peak Cars. Ryan L. approached me in the lot and immediately handed me keys to the vehicle I was interested in. After the test drive, we struck a deal on a socially distanced handshake because it was late on Saturday and we didn’t have time to do the paperwork. They offered me a generous trade-in, followed by good local financing. It is critical to note that their vehicles are literally hand-picked. My 9 year old purchase-vehicle is in excellent condition and all of their inventory looked equally clean. With zero pressure, honest appraisal of my trade, great communication in between via phone and text, and with absolutely no hidden charges and the lowest documentation fees in the valley, there is no reason to shop anywhere else for a used vehicle in the Gallatin valley. If you are hesitant to go to a used car lot because of what you know from past knowledge, it is time to change that perception. Visit Peak Cars. I’m a happy costumer and a brand evangelist now. I’ll continue to recommend Peak Cars to friends and family. Thanks Ryan M. and Ryan L. for the great deal and friendly treatment.

My first vehicle was purchased at Peak in 2008 at their asking price. That vehicle was a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner and lasted me 240,000 miles beyond what it came with. I had need to replace it recently and test drove a Honda CR-V, but the model I test drove was beyond my budget. They guys at Peak mentioned another better-priced model was coming soon and showed me pics of the inbound vehicle, so upon a conditional approval, I asked them to hold it. A couple days later it arrived and was what I wanted, at the right price (no haggling needed). Their knowledge of vehicles and the industry is exceptional and willingness to get the right vehicle at the price you want is worth your effort to work with them.

Our experience started with the website. It was well laid out and informative. The best news is that we found our perfect vehicle. The communication between ourselves and Ryan was clear and professional, a handshake sealed the deal. Excellent all around, we have already been recommending Peak to our friends and will continue to do so. Sandi and Larry Brown

Buyers be warned this company is not for you or anyone that wants a car that is worth what they purchased it for... I gave them every opportunity to make things right to no avail. My mechanic found the block test failed immediately. Ryan insisted I buy a 2 year warranty and now we know why, my repair bill for my new car was $ 4407.00. These people can not be trusted!!! I cannot speak highly enough of Peak Cars. I got into an accident that totaled my car and needed to buy a new car as soon as possible. Peak had a couple of vehicles on the lot that I was interested in, and they took the time to let me test drive each one, talk to me about each of my options and help me weigh which vehicle would work best for my lifestyle. I ended up purchasing a 2007 Toyota 4Runner (a car I have always wanted) that was in immaculate condition - Ryan took the time to make it a very seamless and positive experience, and their detailers made the car look like it was brand new. Peak is THE PLACE in Bozeman to go for a high-quality used vehicle! Thanks so much for my amazing new car!

Its been over a year since I purchased my 2010 Forster, and Ive driven over 10,000 miles. I did not feel pressure to purchase. I had looked at many different dealers and individual sellers. Matt was very patient with my slow process, and answered so many questions, about the carfax report as well. For example, it looked like a water mark on the ceiling. When I asked about it, they immediately took it apart in front of me because Matt wanted to see, too. The mark was not on the other side, there was no leak. I took it on several test drives, including to my own mechanic. After I purchased it, they called to let me know a small cosmetic part had arrived, which they installed for me. I recently took it to my mechanic for routine maintenance, was told it looked great. I rarely write reviews, but since shopping for a used car was challenging at times, I am writing this one. I recommend Peak to my friends and family.

Best used vehicle purchase experience ever! This one has been around for a long, long time. I like used vehicles, have had many over the years and too many have been unfortunate experiences. This place had just what I was looking for, in superb condition (brought from CA), lower mileage, up-to-date on all maintenance with quality service. The price was fair, there was no hassle. I had it looked at when I got home (I am 3 hours away) to see if it needed anything else; my mechanic, a specialist gave me a glowing report. It did need one thing, though-- a replacement hood prop rod! ($15)! I would go there again and again, but I need to sell some of the other used vehicles I have collected, plus this car will likely last so long it may outlive me. Thanks to Peak Cars for this unusual experience!

I dont normally write reviews but I believe that this one is worthy of a review for everyone out there considering buying a car from Peak Cars. I found a vehicle on craigslist that they were selling and the title of the ad claimed the vehicle was a 2006, however in the description the vehicle was listed as a 2005. So I went to their actual website and it was listed as a 2006 and the description also said it was a 2006. So I figured no big deal it was just a typo. So I called and talked to a salesman and asked him about the year and told him what his ads said and he said that it was indeed a 2005, not a 2006. After trying to ask him a few questions I finally gave up because I was not getting much information from the gentleman. The ad further claimed that the vehicle had power windows, power locks, and only 2 owners. However about a week later I had a family member look at the vehicle for me since I am out of town and he found out that the vehicle did not have power windows, or power locks, and it had 4 previous owners, not 2. My family member asked about the year of the vehicle and the gentleman said that it was a 2005 and that they may have made a typo on the ads, granted this was a week after I had already called them and told them their ad was incorrect. I am trying to be as polite and honest about this review as possible. I do not appreciate the fact that the vehicle was not as described and would not consider these mistakes in their ads to be typos. For these reasons I will not be doing business with Peak Cars.

I recently bought a truck from Peak Cars and had a great experience there. The owners were friendly and there was no sales pressure or repeated follow up dealership phone calls after the test drive. You could tell they are confident in their product and are committed to customer satisfaction. They did everything opposite of the stereotypical dealership, which allowed me to make an informed, no pressure decision on the purchase I made there. There were a few issues with the truck as could be expected with any used vehicle, but they fixed them promptly without a hassle. Very professional, honest, and straight forward. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a reliable used car, and Ill be going back to them for all of my business and personal car needs in the future. Well done, Peak Cars!

Hello everyone who might be reading this, I have a couple words for the review and quality that Peak Cars of Bozeman Montana has to offer. In short, buying my vehicle from Peak Cars was simple. Ryan and Matt made the whole experience pleasurable and easy. Had my car detailed and ready upon pick up, smiles on faces, keys in hand. Most importantly why one should look into Peak Cars for their new vehicle is simply these guys are with you the whole time, backing there vehicles to the highest standard of quality. In other words, you are not alone in the car buying experience. It can be very scary because these cars are used, and thats just the fact. I had some very heart breaking/bad troubles with my vehicle shortly after purchasing it. I went to Peak Cars explaining the situation. Without hesitation Ryan and Matt said to bring it in that following Tuesday to they could have their personal mechanic look at it. I did as such. It turned out the Transmission was going out at 116,000 miles, which is very usual for the kind of vehicle I purchased. They gave me a couple options and did not leave me out to dry. We, together, came up with an option that left me (the customer) extremely satisfied even though having a transmission go is never a good situation. These guys at Peak Cars are doing things right! Thanks again Ryan! Best of luck and Happy Holidays!

Bought a vehicle. Lots of pressure to get things done. Did their own work on the vehicle. Turns out it leaked oil from the beginning, dry rotted tires, split timing belt, blown radiator, bad brakes, and a motor that the shop said was most likely replaced. Apparently all this was missed in their inspection. I guess I understand now why they were in such a hurry to underline the AS IS on the contract. I learned my lesson on trusting people....the extra cost of buying at a dealer is not worth it here. Will not buy here again and I suggest you do not either.

Hmmm. Im not sure what to say about these reviews. Ill say a few things and then I will relate my own experiences. First, time and time again Ive seen these guys bring in great car after great car and they ALWAYS seem to make sure that all the service gets done, that the tires are good, etc. Second, I feel that NO company can always foresee all the possible problems a car can have. When you buy any car you take a chance. I bought four 3/4 ton Ford trucks in about 10 years and 3 were not great... but I am mechanically inclined and felt that the fact that I had bought cheaper older trucks and early diesels at that, was in the end my own problem. Now fast forward to Ryan at Peak Cars. I had finally decided I had enough of old trucks and wanted a Toyota 4Runner. I looked at a lot but the best two or three I found were at Peak Cars. I bought a 1998 4runner with 152,000 miles on it from Ryan. Id guess that was about 12 Years ago. Within a week or two I had a problem. I took it to Ressler and they called me 4 hours later saying I owed them $150.00 and it was still not fixed. At this point they said I would have to bring it back and they would just start replacing parts. I called Ryan and he felt bad but told me to call Keith at Rising Sun Toyota. Keith immediately knew what the problem was after I explained the symptoms. He charged me $35.00 to fix it two days later after he got the part. A simple switch in the back door was causing it. I still have that 4Runner, but it now has 338,000 miles on it. $8500.00 for almost 200,000 miles. What a deal! The car would still sell for over $4000.00 Im sure but its worth more than that to me.Then we went to see Ryan about a Volvo XC70 in 2012. We bought that car and have had some minor issues but all in all simple maintenance type work and replacements is all. We have put just about 100,000 miles on that car and it is still a good car. So now we are ready for another vehicle. Where would you go? Yes. We are buying an awesome 2006 Lexus GX470 from Ryan. Who else! These experiences are the only way I know Ryan but the integrity he has shown me over the years and the great car buys Ive gotten have made a believer out of me! I never have any trouble getting ahold of these guys. Oh and their mechanic is awesome. He has always given me great advice! One last thing. These guys dont build a lot of profit into their deals. They will usually deal a little but they will be honest and up front and you dont have to play games. The price they ask is fair and they are usually willing to deal just a little. If you feel the need to wheel and deal and play games go somewhere else. Peak cars is there to offer a good car at a decent price. They dont play those games and Im happy about that. If you are looking for a good car at a fair price go see the guys at Peak Cars. One last thing. Unfortunately, the prices listed in the blue books are intended mostly for banks to easily value a vehicle. In many cases they will be accurate but for instance if you want a low mileage Toyota 4Runner or Land Cruiser or such, in a place like Bozeman, where these vehicles are in huge demand, the blue book price may not buy that car. The guys at Peak are not buying flooded, rusted cars at a bargain. They are buying top grade used vehicles from places with good lasting potential and the going price in this area, for those kinds of cars are a bit higher. It doesn’t mean they are trying to rip you off. You can trust these guys but do YOUR due diligence as well. Good Luck!Dan Roberts

My husband and I purchased a vehicle at Peak Cars about 6 months ago. We bought it based on the awesome carfax report they were not hesitate to show us, it appeared to be very clean and taken care of, and what we thought was great customer service from the owner, Ryan, who sold it to us. In the six months of owning it, we’ve put in over $2,000.00 in repairs. The first repair was a thermostat that they had told us their mechanic had replaced but after a few weeks we noticed it leaking and took it in. Our shop mechanic then told us it was the original thermostat and it looked like someone had just used a silicone sealant to stop the leaking from before. This is when we realized that Peak Cars had not been totally honest with us. Our next problem we ran into a few weeks after that was that the oil pressure gauge kept dropping; the oil pump was going out and so we called Ryan at Peak Cars, even though we knew there was no warranty on it, and asked him if he could help us out and make it right. He was nice about it at first and said he would chip in $100 for the $500-600.00 repair at his mechanics shop, when we called about it the second time to get a time set up, he chewed out my husband and said it wasn’t his problem. He didn’t care about our problem, just that he had made a sale. Other repairs since then, replaced the oil pinion seal, new gas tank because old one was warped and leaking fumes (reason the check engine light kept coming on), and sunroof seal (found out it leaking after snow started melting in). And the repairs we still need to make; air conditioner that we thought was working until the warmer temperatures came around, broken driver mirror that we found someone had shoved a piece of foam in to keep it in place that had fallen out and now mirror swings in and out, and a bad heater core that leaves a sweet coolant smell in the vehicle and fogs up the window when the heats on. I would not recommend anyone buying a vehicle from Peak Cars. They are dishonest and only care about the sale. We are not impressed with the vehicle we’ve bought from them; it has been nothing but a headache!! If you plan buying from them anyways, I would recommend taking it in for an inspection at a different mechanic shop then theirs. That was our first mistake.
