I cannot say enough about the staff that works for Thayer Honda! From the service department, parts or sales, I have never felt so respected and informed. As a woman, I have had many negative experiences with gentleman in the automotive places either talking down to me, laughing at questions I had or telling me a million things were wrong with my car that werent. I very much regret that I ever went to another area Honda dealer! I had one of them, for example, tell me that my warranty on my dead battery ran out three days previous, in which I called Honda direct and found out I still in fact had 2 more months on it. Even Honda direct recommended Thayer to help me instead, which obviously became an incredible blessing! My husband used to get so frustrated when I would take my car in to other dealers here as they always seemed to try and talk me into a major repair that I never needed. Our favorite was a Catalytic converter replacement recommendation on my 3 year old Civic! I had that car many many years after that recommendation and never ever had an issue. My husband was furious that they tried to take advantage of me like that. Not once have I had anything crazy like that from Thayer. A matter of fact, they seem to always help in any way they can to prevent problems or help me understand why something would need done. This past week I have spoken many times to the gentleman in parts and service and they have been beyond wonderful to deal with.

I had an appointment yesterday, 8/2/2021, to have door sill protectors put on my new HR-V. They had to order the parts and they arrived quickly. They then called to set up the appointment and at that time no installation price was discussed. I had previously shopped for the parts at the Honda eStore and the website gave an installed price. I made the assumption they would be in the neighborhood price wise.Upon arriving for my appointment I asked the service rep if he could tell me what it was going to cost for installation. He looked at his screen a shrugged that there was no quote given and he really wasnt sure. I then showed him the price that the eStore had given and he began to inform me that they dont honor prices from third party websites. I and the Honda employee standing next to him explained that the Honda eStore was indeed a genuine Honda entity and the price quote was legit. He then took my paper and huffed off to talk to someone about it. He returned to say they would honor the price.After the car returned from getting serviced I looked at the sill protectors and found that they werent adhering to the sills properly. They were coming up where they bend down over the outer edge of the sill and when push back in place they popped right back up. When I asked about it is when it got insulting.The first rep tried to tell me that when the car heated up, after I left with it, that the film would soften and mold itself to the sill. ( I didnt think to ask what would happen if it were January and not August.) I told him I disagreed and that I was not happy with them not adhering properly. He contended that it was normal for them to not stick right away the same as when you install window tint. Having lived in Phoenix for awhile and having a few cars tinted I questioned that.Thats when the first rep went and got someone else to talk to me. This guy was a treat. More excuses and the whole you dont understand condescending attitude. Even went so far as to say they were “just stickers” and implied I my expectations might be a little high. (Shouldnt stickers actually stick?) After a few back and forth moments he did agree to remove them, quite hastily and with great disregard for my vehicle, and sent me on my way.Perhaps if I wouldn’t have questioned the installation cost and blindly let them overcharge me I could have avoided this treatment. They may, in my opinion, actually have taken the time to install them correctly instead of doing a quick and shoddy job of it just because they weren’t going to make enough money.I won’t return and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them.

Being a relatively new service tech myself and having seen some of the questionable practices at other repair shops, Ive always been very careful about who services my car, often choosing to do so myself. I found myself without a trustworthy tech after everything thats happened recently and came here on the recommendation of a friend. Who has his supercar serviced there. I was impressed to say the least. My car is my world and I was anxious to leave her there, but the tech made sure to take proper care and even brought a few things to my attention that I was unaware of so that I can fix them. In the future, they can expect more visits from me, and I would be comfortable knowing my car is in good hands there.

Can I give 6 stars?I live in Toledo, so when I heard there was a recall on my 2016 Civic I went to the closest Honda to check out why my AC wasn’t working. The closest dealership landed me at BROWN Honda – which was a mistake that I will never make again. Brown wanted to charge me $1,795 to fix my AC – ultimately a part that was under recall. Since I do not have $1,795 I called up my buddy, Tony in sales from Thayer who sold me my car in 2016… the most genuine man, ever! Tony was shocked and got me in to see Brad and Peyton in service ASAP! Well of course, Thayer found that the issue with my car was indeed covered under recall. After researching and test driving dozens of cars we decided on getting a Rav4. Being particularly picky people we wanted a certain color and interior with the Limited package. After searching high and low we found the right one at the right price, but guess what? It was over 1600 miles away at Thayer of Honda in Bowling Green, OH. Now some of you may call us crazy for doing this, but I am a sucker for a good deal, and NO one locally was even close to price as Thayer. In fact after all our expenses of flight and travel we saved over $1500. Tony made the purchasing process very easy. We flew out and they delivered the car to us at the airport and we proceeded to drive home. After surviving lighting, heavy rain, wind and a tornado in Nebraska we made it back home and the car drove wonderfully though it all! If you like to play the game and lose, this is the place to buy your next car! The car started out at 10.2k we had a trade in = final asking price 9.7? Seriously? Retail price for the car on Edmunds was 8.9k (highest price) Edmunds priced out Trade in at $800.00 (lowest price).Its okay though ... We walked.Im sure they will make a lot of money with cars sitting on the lot.

Salesman was great. The price was better than the other 2 local dealers to include costco pricing. After the sale is when everything went down hill. We purchased the vehicle late at night and the end of the month. We waited 2 hours to get to the finace department. They had a porter clean the vehicle and it looked like hell. They later agreed to have it detailed. When the vehicle was returned to us it looked worse than it did the night we bought it. There was armour all on the windows, still had plastic film on the grill and fender, and sticker adhesive on mirror and side window. They clearly did not detail the vehicle.

In 2003, we traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Bowling Green to pick up our Honda Odyssey. Today it has 304,644 miles on it. Our van took many a road trip to NC and to all sorts of events with our four children. She still runs great and we took her for one last ride today. This is the first place Id go to buy a vehicle. Service department seems good. Id rate it 5 stars but they want you to talk to their insurance representative right after you make the purchase.

Usually have Thayer perform large maintenance jobs like water pumps and timing belts. Brakes and O2 sensors I generally take care of. On one occasion I took the wifes 2007 Pilot in because it was experiencing bump steer badly. Thayer performed an alignment and told me that the condition was due to the fact the tires had 35psi instead of 32psi?! Bump steer still evident, I took the vehicle to a mechanic I knew from a friend. He drove the car 200 feet, and said you have at least 1 broken front strut. How do you perform an alignment and not see a broken strut? Hmmm..... Turns out I had 1 broken front strut and 1 broken rear shock assembly.

The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. This was my first time buying a car and they were great about answering my many questions. They were also super patient and flexible when my cosigners schedule didnt line up with mine or the dealerships hours. As a woman I noticed a lack of sexism; they delt with me instead of the male friend I brought for back up. I appreciated their honesty and forthrightness.

I bought a used car online sight unseen from Thayer this summer. I was promptly contacted by Travis after an online inquiry . He was great and we reach and agreement quickly. I flew in a week later and completed the sale then drove home 600 miles. Everything was as described with the car. The dealership was great and everyone was friendly. I had a car reserved through Carvana, financing was already lined up and had a scheduled pickup time to go get the car in Indy to avoid a $400 delivery fee.My wife was concerned she would not be comfortable in the car as I wanted a very specific car with very specific options (a late model but not 2020 Civic with the Honda Sensing package as I wanted to add a full self driving system to the car)> I suggested we go to our local dealership so she could test drive one.I let the salesman that greeted us, Ron Restuccio, know that we were only there to let my wife sit in a civic and that we already had a car lined up for purchase through Carvan. He was still very pleasant and listened to what I was looking for.They had one used Civic with the sensing package but it was half way through a sale to someone else. After confirming it would be sold Ron took the initiative to find out if the dealership would be willing to sell there extremely low mileage 2018 Civic touring edition that they used as a customer loaner car. After getting approval we were offered an amazing price on the vehicle with far better financing than Carvana was offering (our credit is weighed down substantially with student loan debt, despite a very healthy income). So I called and canceled our car through Carvan saving a 6 hour round trip and drove home with a better car for a better price with better financing.Going back in the following Monday to get the navigation system updated and a oil change done (turns out it wasnt needed as the oil had been done under 200 miles ago) I mentioned to Ron that I had found a very small paint chip on the car to which he immediately gave me a touch up paint pen at no charge.Amazing service, amazing people....from sales, financing, service and management. Would and will happily recommend them to everyone.
