Seriously the best computer repair shop Ive been too! Dropped my computer off within an hour of closing on Friday and the technician was working on it on Monday afternoon. By Tuesday they had diagnosed the problem and were able to put a new hardrive in for a decent price and its good as new! I will never go anywhere else!

I had a problem with a brand new laptop that I bought at Best Buy. They said my issue wasn’t covered under warranty and the geek squad was going to help me but they wanted to charge me $850 which was the cost of the freaking laptop. Wanted a great honest computer repair company. My niece referred us and I had both of my computers revamped like new. There prices are great and these guys are so nice to work with. Both computers were done in 2 days and are running like brand new. One computer is 10 years old and the other is 5. Just so impressed with their service. Go check them out. Im sure this place is a great place to buy a computer and Im sure if you bought a computer from them that they will be very knowledgeable and helpful in any repairs that you might have to get done. However, if you didnt buy from them and just want to get your laptop fixed, going off of my experience, you are better off going somewhere else. My HP Omen laptop was having problems with the cooling fan causing the computer to be unable to boot up. I took it in to see what it would cost to have them fix it for me. When I went in I said I was hoping you could tell me how much it would cost to fix my laptop. The person who helped me responded I dont know since I dont know what computer it is or what is wrong. You would think they would instead say something like Of course! and then start asking questions to find out what computer it is and what is wrong. I instead had to spoon feed him the laptop model and what problem I was experiencing. He then told me it would cost anywhere from $50-$75 in labor (which I hear is pretty standard for computer repair) and anywhere from $20-$180 for the part since he didnt know what part. (Isnt that their job to find out?) Long story short, left there with the unhelpful information, went home and fixed it myself in about 20 minutes since it turned out to be a cable issue.TL DR: Took my laptop in get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix, left with almost as little information as when I went in, was annoyed enough to fix it myself.

Had cooling fans replaced, they did it fast and way cheaper than I was expecting.

Needed a new power supply and they found problem and fixed it in about 3 hours.

I ordered a brand name part and they gave me a generic. Its been working okay but I paid for a Crucial Memory stick.

My kids broke the screen on my laptop and I didnt want to replace the whole computer since I have all my nursing school documents on it and its less than a year old. Office Depot, (where I bought the computer) said if its not under warranty, it could cost between $300-$600. (Not worth it.) He referred me StarWest Computers and I had a great experience. They replaced the screen for under $200 and were extremely courteous and professional. I will definitely go back if I ever need something like this fixed again and I would definitely not hesitate to refer friends and family!

I had an external hard drive whose port broke off from the board. I called several places that recover hard drives and are hundreds of dollars. Brought the hard drive in to Josh at Starwest and he was able to plug the existing drive into a new shell for a very great deal. Saved me hundreds.Great service. My wife had her iPhone fixed here as well.

I do a lot of photography and have been really busy with some weddings and fall family pictures. I was in the middle of editing photos and backing them up when my hard drive crashed. I thought all hope was lost. I tried everything and a friend that is in IT tried some different software for recovery and nothing. Well Starwest was able to get all of my pictures! I dont know how they did it. It took a couple of days which I was willing to wait a couple of weeks. I am just really really glad they recovered those pictures.

I needed my computer fixed fast. Well they sure did that. Got it back several hours latter. Did everything I asked them to and didn’t try and upsell me when they had a perfect opportunity to. This place exceeded my expectation from the high reviews I saw on google. I brought my computer in for repairs and they finished in just a few hours on the same day. Repairs were also very inexpensive. I cant recommend them enough.

I was really in a bad spot. I needed my computer for the weekend but late Thursday night I bumped my power cord and my laptop fell off of my desk. I brought my computer in early Friday morning and by mid afternoon. When I talked with the techs they were upfront letting me know that it might have to order parts depending on the issues. However they were able to replace my screen and the hinge in the same day. I cant say enough great things about the service and the price was really good.

I stopped by on a Friday. The worker was upfront and said that they wouldnt be able to get to my laptop before they closed for the weekend. He suggested I bring it back on Monday if it was important I used it for the weekend. I told him the problem and he made sure it wasnt something that I could do further damage and suggested I come back next week when it was a better time for me. I came back early in the morning and they fixed it that same day.

I dropped my laptop and it wouldnt boot. I needed it for the weekend so I could stream some Jazz games. I thought I would have to buy a new laptop but they fixed it. I dont know how they did it but it works and I can watch the Jazz this weekend!

I like this company. Upon opening the door to their store, I was greeted by multiple employees. They were prompt and courteous, and listened to what I wanted done to my computer. Their pricing was very reasonable. Upon receiving my computer back, they were quick to help me out and got me checked out quick as well. I shopped around, for quite some time I might add, but after all was said and done I realize now I could have appropriated that time elsewhere and called it productive. I have been in the market for a new laptop, years now really, and finally decided to try something different. I wanted something besides the cookie-cutter impersonal buy it over the internet variety experience with this. Why? Because I dont have a clue when it comes to computers. Furthermore, I want it custom built, and by someone close like a neighbor so I can yell across the street when I hit print and the printer just says, error.Enter Starwest Computers, and more importantly, Sean, Josh and from what I can see and tell, dedicated staff. And they really are just around the corner from where I live. Their staff appeared smiling and happy, the techs working diligently, yammering on in some form of verbal code Im sure Ill never come to understand. Yes, I paid close attention to what the techs were doing the whole time I was lurking at their Layton location and I can assure you they are on task.I sent an email to this place of business this morning at about 10 AM, expressing my interest in a custom built laptop and that I would be gauging their customer service based on their response time to my email request. At exactly 10:10 I received a return call. 10 minutes to get a call back after sending an email request for inquiry...EXCEPTIONAL RESPONSE TIME!At this point Im excited, and quite honestly I cant tell you the last time it was that I got all worked up over a computer. I think that would have been when IBM came out with the fastest processing laptop of all time. The 386, and that was back in the days of DOS. There, I said it, DOS! I think we had all died and gone to heaven too, having just upgraded to the Motorola half-brick. Oh, and 20 minutes of cell time cost you like $400.00.The bottom line is this. If you want exceptional customer service, high quality products and the right products to fit your needs, I quickly came to understand they hold customer service in high regard, then you wont find a better establishment to fill your computing needs. They are fair and honest at Starwest, and I can live with that!Oh, I almost forgot, two things they did that won me over immediately. The 10 minute return call was first. The second item. Josh actually jogged back and forth from his stock room when showing me numerous items to make sure I was fully informed. HE HUSTLED AND I MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT EXPECT THAT.Josh, your dedication to the customer is second to none. I can see now why you folks have been in business for decades. I needed to recover what I remembered as a single file from a computer which I hadnt used in five years. Not only did StarWest recover my file but showed me that there were multiple smaller files saved on the hard-drive of my old computer. I asked him to recover them if possible, which he did. When I asked the cost of his work and his agreement to clean offany other remaining files and dispose of the old computer, he said there were such small files to copy to my thumb-drive that he would not charge me for his time and effort. I certainly will return to StarWest Computers when I need additional help. And I would recommend their services to any of you.

Got a PSU and GPU tested by Travis, was fast, polite, and easy. Would definitely recommend for any service.

My computer was running extremely hot, would not turn off and after I unplugged it, would not boot back up. StarWest could have told me anything and could have cost me hundreds. But, they cleaned it, re-positioned some wiring and re-install the latest windows update. Total cost was $ 106.00. Took them less Than and day to repair. Totally made my day. Awesome company. I’m a very happy customer.

Great team. These people have built complex servers for a public company I ran to quickly repairing our 14 year olds dropped laptop. They have ALWAYS done an awesome and thorough job for us. Rarely do I give five stars for anything. StarWest is the exception.

Gave a good diagnostic of the pc in under 12 hours. They included some screws and cords which was awesome and a big help. I would say this is probably the best pc shop in bountiful and if your computer has a problem there gonna be a big help.

Great service at reasonable prices. They have repaired computers for my business and home with excellent results. My only suggestion for them would be to have an automated door so when you have to carry in a heavy desktop computer youre not trying to do a balancing act. Also a ramp up to the door would be nice for safety reasons.

Im really happy with the quality and service, plus fair prices here. When my laptop was too expensive to repair I bought a new one from them. They loaded all of my files and most of my programs onto the new machine. I have to get Windows 8 but they configured it so it works just like Windows 7. They spend a lot of time talking to me to find the right blend of speed and storage for the price. I love working with people who really know the product and care.

(It was my phone line)He did not charge me for the time spent on it. They could have made up a reason to charge me, since I did not know.I very much appreciate the honesty!! Had a Lenovo that decided to die after only 7 months. They did diagnostics and figured it was the motherboard. They did all the work with Lenovo and the warranty to get it replaced. 7 months later the motherboard died again, and because it was now just passed the 1 year warranty Lenovo wouldnt replace the 7 month old motherboard.Despite my own frustration and waiting as they looked for secondary market parts, they returned the computer as unfixable and refunded me what I had paid for their labor.We both lost out, but they were sympathetic and kind and fair about my loss, and I figured Id show my gratitude for they way they attempted to conduct business.

I was very happy with the service and price on my laptop. It was a relief to have fixed what my campus bookstore and Best Buy couldnt. Only complaint was that they took a long time to complete things, but then it was a time consuming issue they were dealing with.

Garbage, bought a simple USB motherboard adapter took their experienced employees about 30 minutes to figure out what i was talking about, even after i showed them pretty pictures of what the item was. Finally a guy from the back comes up front and actually realizes what i was talking about in like .002 seconds, He got the 3 stars the rest of the store got it a 0. oh and because the cable didnt work......
