Ive been a long-time meal kit purchaser and have tried Blue Apron, Purple Carrot, and Home Chef and Green Chef is one of the best. I like that it is all organic and the meals are absolutely delicious! There is a lot of packaging with any meal kit, but we recycle all the plastic (even the bags - recycle them at your grocery store drop off)! I like that the ingredients are packaged together so its a lot easier to unpack the box into the fridge.

Hi Guys. Ive done Home Chef (theyre good, I did that a while). Ive done Blue Apron (blah, IMHO). Ive done freshly (also blah for me, personally). Green Chef may be more expensive, but the food is absolutely delicious. Really Good. And simple to cook. Granted, this is only my third week, but. Out of (8) meals cooked, (1) remaining, I am thinking: wow. Every one is so good. Granted, I am doing the Keto menu, so its full of savory fats. I did keto on my own successfully a while back, but made it only half way to my goal. This has been a little kickstarter for me. Stoked.
Our family started with Green Chef several months ago, and weve been impressed from the very beginning. Even our 8-year-old daughter likes the meals, though her favorite part is preparing them with my wife. Ingredients are always fresh, and the cuts of meat are high quality. In addition, preparation time is normally no longer than 30 minutes. Portions are generous--we almost always have leftovers. Weve tried other meal delivery services, but Green Chef surpasses them all.
We absolutely love Green Chef. Ive recommended them to many friends who also love them. Healthy, easy to prepare foods that taste amazing. Its easy to cancel for weeks that you dont need them (in advance, beware of the lead-time). Really, really impressed!
I have cancelled the service 3 times now and they keep shipping and billing. I cancelled because the ingredients are no where near the quality or freshness I would expect. Especially the fish and meat. Best part is the recipes and how easy they are to read and do the prep/cooking for.
Tried to change my menu preference to Paleo 5 days before delivery and was told by Jessica it was already packaged (gross)! Instead of changing out one meal out of the 3 for the week, they would rather cancel my order completely and refund my money! As a small business you would think you could try and accommodate a first time buyer. You should be more specific on your website. It states Dont worry, these settings can be CHANGED AT ANYTIME! Guess not....
We have been getting Green Chef meal delivery for a couple of months now and absolutely love it. I stress out hard about eating home cooked healthy meals, meal planning, grocery shopping and recipe hunting. But all that is taken care of by Green Chef. And we now have 3 date nights a week preparing the meal. Its only 8:00 am and I have already checked out the meal for tonight, Philly Chicken Melt and cant wait! Hmmm...what kind of wine goes well with this meal??
We have been getting Green Chef for the past six months and absolutely LOVE the recipes and customer service! Canceling is never a problem if you follow the directions that are given to you when you sign up. The recipes are easy to follow- my son enjoys helping to cook the recipes which also makes him more willing to try new foods:)
They dont offer the interchangeable meals like the other companies do.Once they offer that I will go back. Everything was fresh and will come back once I have a variety.
Ive tried Green Chef, Home Chef, Hello Fresh, Every Plate, Dinnerly, and Plated. Green Chef is the most expensive and the worst by a wide margin.I tried 2 weeks of their $13/serving keto meals...1) They knowingly sent me a punctured package of pork. There was a piece of tape over a cut in the package and it ended up leaking all over my fridge.2) They didnt let me cancel my subscription through their website. Their official process is for you to call them if you want to cancel. This is outrageous. I dont have a Sirius XM subscription because they use the same shady antics.3) Most of the meals tasted terrible.4) They use an excessive amount of plastic packaging.If keto isnt a priority, my recommendation it to use Every Plate or Home Chef.Every Plate is half the price, has best-in-industry packaging, and tastes good most of the time.At $10/serving, Home Chef is decent if you want more variety than Every Plate offers.If keto is a priority, my recommendation is to use Instacart to have groceries delivered and find or make recipes on your own. Bacon, ham, eggs, and cheese taste significantly better than most of the Green Chef meals.

Ive tried multiple meal kits and Green Chef has won my heart. They have the most USDA organic ingredients, the freshest produce, the highest quality meats and their meals are delicious!
Unhappy! Poor customer service, really expensive and read the fine print! I wanted to give it a try, some of the ingredients were starting to wilt and go bad. When I called customer service to cancel, they already charged me (same day as my delivery date) for the following weeks delivery and I was stuck with the bill, she would not work with me at all. Hopefully I can get a less smashed/ruined delivery as my final delivery. Needless to say I will not be getting this again.
Used them for a bit. Decided to cancel since you can’t pick our meals from any choices. It’s set. After cancelling, they sent me a box and won’t refund me. They said I reactivated. And I didn’t. Have proof of emails. Going through a dispute through my bank right now since their customer service blows. So frustrating. Chose a different food delivery service!!!
Really poor customer service. I work hard and have no time to prep food, but I like healthy organic vegetarian food. This isnt it. Theres dodgy stuff in the ingredients like modified corn starch and yeast extract. The items are often damaged and missing things. Youre better off at Trader Joes and WholeFoods and a decent food plan. Cancelled and wont be ordering again.
In addition to their dynamite customer service (thanks, Katie!), their recipes are super intuitive, with plans that are personalized to your tastes and/or dietary wishes. Dont even get me started on the Green packaging...LOVE IT!
Great recipes, lots of variety. Whenever I have encountered an issue - once a missing ingredient and other times with UPS they were quick to rectify it and offered full refunds.
I really wanted to the like the food from this place. I am moving from vegetarian to vegan and am doing my best to also be gluten free. I buy organic if at all possible and I love cooking, but I am very busy doing my doctoral studies and my husband is busy supporting me! I am a certified nutritionist and I tried these meals because I thought theyd meet all my criteria for non processed whole foods vegan diet.The one good thing I can say is they use safflower oil. I cant tell if it is the mono or polyunsaturated type, but it does well at high heat and so youre not likely to get an oil thats broken down poorly in cooking, which would be bad for you.Unfortunately not only are some of the ingredients used are very questionable (i.e. yeast extract in stock, modified corn starch (not regular organic corn starch used as a thickner) and extra sugar added to dishes), but their customer service is non-existent.We cancelled after our first order well before the required time and then they wouldnt not charge us or not ship out the next order. They insisted we had to wait to cancel even though we told them we would be away on holiday and unable to have internet access at the time they were asking us to cancel again! So we had to ask our credit card to dispute the transaction and refund us. What a waste of food (the delivery arrived and no-one was here to take it) and our time and energy, Id have been better off spending that time doing my own food prep like usual. *sigh* So disappointing.
HORRID SERVICE: One of the worst experiences weve had in our lives. My wife registered and tried this service for us in Denver. Were sticking with HELLOFRESH from now on. The company seems to be run by arrogant people incapable of listening or hearing what customers really want. Friendliness and a helpful attitude go a long way. After talking to one their employees, it sounds like the attitude of arrogance and a pure lack of humility comes from the very top. Its how the Founder wants it; she said. Its always a bad sign to hear an employee speak poorly of the founders of the company for which they work, especially when the employee says; the people who created this company dont know how to listen, engage or self-reflect. Whoa! Bad sign. HELLOFRESH - you didnt lose us to GreenChef, we only want more of what you have to offer now. There are loads of options for folks so go elsewhere, dont waste your money on foolish corporate behavior.
I love the recipes, meal prep directions, the meal prep itself, flavors and packaging. I am on the Paleo now - have tried most of the them - did Gluten Free for about a year.I have had a few interactions with the company - ranging from negative to ok. They do tend come across as hard line and arrogant.I stay with them because I do love the flavors and I am use to their system.But I really wish they would take the time to look at and redevelop the customer service side. It is sad to like a company and wish they had it together. I hope they start to understand that bad CS and bad reviews are a real turn off for your loyal customers!
Logged on to see their meals, never intended on placing an order, and was charged for one and was going to be sent box of meals for the week. Luckily I caught it in time, though when I first called customer service the guy said there wasnt anything he could do. I called back 5 minutes later, I spoke to Ryan and he said he could cancel the order and refund me. Its obnoxious and frustrating that two people told me the exact opposite things, but just glad I got my money back from something I didnt even purchase.

They withdrew money from my account without permission after they sent an email saying unable to process due the info on my card not being correct. Like the expiration date. Almost put me in the negative. Their customer service sucks so badly i filed claim in with bbb.... What a joke. The bbb tpok their side. Green chef is a rip off. Their customer service simply repeated their email a dz times never changing a word like an automatic response. Falsely drummed up confirmation emails saying they sent out my box. When the only email i got was cannot process at this time. They are rude disrespectful. I can go to the store and buy their meals 4xs over for the price of 2 they send. I will never use them again. And i am going to find every write a review and post this every where i can. What a crappy company. Wish i could cuss on these cuz thats how pissed i am right now.

There are way too many options for companies in this space to waste your time with Green Chef and their horrible customer service. I tried to cancel my weekly order because I was going to be on vacation for two weeks and wont be home to receive the food, however, they have a very strict 7 day cancellation policy that they are unwilling to work with their customers on. The result is that their food is going to sit on my porch for 2 weeks and rot for all of my neighbors to see and smell. I will be sure to let everyone know that it was Green Chef.
Lousy customer service and extremely deceptive cancellation policies! You must cancel on the day you sign up for the free trial! Be prepared to hope thru several hoops in order to cancel - Im on my third set on instructions from the company and the instructions change every time. The volume of wasted packaging is insane as well - there is nothing green about this company except for whats in your wallet!
