Their staff is consistently welcoming, prompt in assessing, identifying, and problem solving the need, and is very customer driven. For example, I thought my personal information and computer had been compromised when I was out of town and was in a mild freak out today. The technician calmly listened, reviewed my data breach questions (how far they had gotten/ascertained they hadnt gone far enough to be of concern). He then checked it against my Malware (which came to the same conclusion). What a relief!

I needed some quick help on how to format a backup hard drive for my mac - they gave me some instructions over the phone and I was able to fix the problem in less than 5 minutes. Very happy with the service I received.

TL;DR Boulder Mac Repair offered a minimum $95 option and leaving computer for 4-5 days even though they were aware of a free 30 second fix.Two of my 4 USB-C ports on my MacBook Pro stopped working. I brought my laptop to Boulder Mac Repair. Dusty said there was nothing coming out of the two ports and the remaining two were failing as well. He said things like cascading failure and motherboard issue (not as a diagnosis but as possibilities). He said that I could leave the laptop for a minimum $95 diagnostic and then 4-5 day wait time to get my computer back. I wasnt ready yet to take that step as the laptop was essential for my work. I wanted to research alternatives. That evening, as Dusty predicted, the other two ports also died. I could no longer even power up my laptop. I was desperate to get it back to the shop as quickly as I could but first I did a search about the issue. I found that there was a 30 second fix that required resetting the system management controller (SMC). It only required pressing buttons while shutting down and restarting. All my ports are now functioning. I called them back to see if they either were not aware of the SMC reset fix or was something else going on. Dusty reported that he was indeed aware of that fix. He said it does not work 99% of the time.While that may be true - I do not know - I would have expected a service that would have at least attempted the fix before suggesting something that would have been highly costly in money and time.EDIT: If problems return as predicted by owner, I promise to add that information to this review. Owner thinks review is unfair. I did not say anything negative - only shared the facts and my experience. No attribution of ill will. Potential customers can determine what are and are not unfair expectations in this situation. Personally, I would expect, perhaps unfairly, that I would have been advised of this fix if the serviceperson was aware of it. I did confirm that the serviceperson was indeed aware of this. Also, to the point that there are things they cannot do at the front desk due to liability: In my call with Dusty, he said I thought I tried the SMC reset.. Not sure why he would have said that if it is not their practice to try things at the front desk.EDIT2: As of 12/30/2020 the problem described above never returned. The free 30 second fix worked so far. EDIT3: As of 03/21/2021, the problem described above never returned.

Always courteous and prompt. They have helped us out a number of times, sometimes solving an issue on the spot. Otherwise they have quick turnaround and very reasonable prices. Very satisfied very time we have needed them.

Great friendly service. However, they charged me $300 to replace my iPhone Xs Max screen and didnt tell me until after they were done that True Tone would no longer work. The color is awful, super disappointed. Had I known their aftermarket part wouldve caused this ahead of time, I would not have done it.

Needed to fix a MacBook Pro screen. Simple, but, they wont take credit cards over the phone (hard if its work related). In addition, they wont take payments up front (hard if someone else will pick up the computer). I convinced them to take the upfront payment because I was going to take my business elsewhere if not.Two weeks later I get an EXTREMELY RUDE call from Joshua the Im the Manager guy. Told me that someone was there to pick up the computer and that I still needed to pay for it. I respectfully told him I already paid and I could check my CC statement to be sure. Told him Id call back. Called back 5 minutes later and he never picked up and never called me back. Must have realized he made the mistake and gave the computer to my coworker.Will never work with this shop again. Apparently they feel that they are doing you the favor by selling you a service. Joshua needs some customer service training.

I have taken my Mac here twice and the service has been prompt, fair and honest. They replaced my notebook monitor twice after being dropped. Looking forward to doing business again.

I gave them a tough job - water soaked MacBook. They provided the perfect solution design, advised on hardware and then swapped over my data and apps to the new machine. The new machine worked perfectly out of the box with all apps running perfectly. The dreaded process of setting up a new machine was completely avoided. Over the last few years, Ive spent more money here than Id like to admit. Mostly due to broken screens. I feel like they overcharge but what can you do? Last time they added on some BS charge that basically equated to them getting more money from me. They do offer fast service and are usually cheaper and much more convenient than going to the Apple Store. Most of the staff is nice as well.

A level of customer service rarely found in this day and age. Not only was my computer issue diagnosed, it was quickly resolved. I know it might be a rare occurrence, but all while I waited. I want to add; My Technician, (Rebeca, I believe is her name) was friendly, and seemed to have a genuine passion for helping people and their computer machines. I was left astonished, and would highly recommend Boulder Mac Repair.

Just got my computer back a few days ago so will update with any changes BUT... its working so great so far! I didnt feel too confident about paying for repairs after talking to one of the people at the front desk. They replaced the internal antenna on my iPhone a few months ago. When it started experiencing the same problems yesterday, I took it in expecting them to replace the antenna under warranty. The guy said this can’t be the problem, then offered to charge me another $65 to replace the antenna again if I wanted to try it. I won’t be going back here again.

Apple folks are very particular about 2 things. 1) Having a happy apple device AND 2) using our time wisely, where time = income.Do not waste your time, money and happiness finding some neo-apple repair shop or online flight by night gig.Take your device here, where they LOVE LOVE LOVE Apple.

Always quick service. Mac Shack on the hill can have huge delays on when they can get to your computer. The last time I went to Mac Shack I would have had to wait two weeks. These guys have consistently delivered on their promise of 2-3 business days since I started coming to them when I am in need.

I have had 3 iPhone screens repaired here and each time has been a great success! The employees are so friendly and helpful. They fix my phone in an hour or less..... compared to a 4-5 hour wait at the Apple store. Not to mention the cost for a screen repair is $40 less than at Apple. I will use them for any and all of my future technology malfunctions!

They dont charge you an arm and a leg to fix things like Apple would. They have kept my 2011 MAC going despite my doing stupid things to it, just spilled syrup on the keyboard and heading down there (again) this morning. In addition to all the accidents my laptop has suffered they replaced the hard drive (which failed) and the battery. I think I should get a repeat customer discount. Always prompt and courteous although they are probably making fun of me in the back room.

I was a happy camper before. Now Im even happier. My iPhone S6 battery was slowly failing after 2-3 years, which is normal. So I brought it in to be replaced. The price was fair and the turn-around quick.But then, less than 3 months later, the battery started draining faster than a whirlpool. At first I thought it was the fault of the new iOS 12.1.4, but my diagnostic test showed it was the battery. So I brought it back, thinking it was under warranty. Turns out I misread the warranty. There is a 3 month warranty for Mac parts and labor, but iPhones only have a 1 month warranty. I didnt even realize my error until I picked the phone up. But Mac Repair replaced it for free because . . . well, because they know how to make customers happy. Now they have one for life. Thanks!

The guy that works the front desk during the week is really nice and creates a friendly work environment. BMR is amazing. I brought in an eBay iPhone 5s that arrived with very short battery life. They replaced the battery, and the new battery also drained quickly. I went back, and Brandon offered to put another replacement battery in, no charge. The second battery also drained quickly, and we concluded the phones power management was broken. To my surprise, Brandon then offered to put an old battery back in the phone so I could return it to the seller, and on top of that, he refunded the price I paid for the replacement battery. All this with a smile.These guys know their stuff, and the prices are great. Best customer experience Ive had with any repair shop, and with a house full of Apple gear, I will definitely be back.

I bring my iPhone here every time it breaks (once every 4-8 months it seems). They are approachable & are very ready to help & on a quick turnaround (1 hour typically quoted but usually less) moreso than the folks at the Apple store in Boulder ever seem to be able to do.Also, I was looking for a great Mac laptop for my daughter that was less than list price. They had a return/refurbished one that I purchased eight months ago. I was a tiny bit hesitant to purchase a refurbished device, but it gets used hours every day and it’s been fantastic... and I saved a couple hundred bucks that buying it from Apple directly.Highly recommend this store.

Dropped off computer for repair - service estimate was $80, technician said it was a common fix, and that it would be done in 2-3 days. 9 days, three phone calls later they still havent repaired it, claim they cant figure it out. So I go to pick it up and they try to stick me with a $90 diagnostic fee. For telling me they cant figure out whats wrong with it! Does that mean Im entitled to $90 as well? Cause I surely dont know whats wrong with it.I understand paying a professional to diagnose and FIX a problem. This is what professionals are for, fixing things I dont have the knowledge to repair. However, I find it insulting that someone could waste my time, then on top of that try to charge me a fee for doing absolutely nothing, except tell me what I already know.Theres an Apple Store in boulder for a reason. Go there first.

Boulder Mac Repair does great work! I spilled a cup of water on my Macbook Air and it wouldnt charge and would die within minutes of turning it on (even though it was plugged in.) Apple wanted to charge me over 700 dollars to send it in with no guarantees it would work. I took it to Boulder Mac Repair and they cleaned it and determined it simply needed a new battery. The whole repair cost a little over 300 dollars and my computer runs better than it did before! I would highly recomend them if you have any problems with your Mac. One note, it did take 4 business days for them to fix so make sure you have a backup plan for work/school.

I purchased a refurbished 15 MacBook Pro for $500 from this company in May of 2013 after Id had my own Mac worked on and repaired by them. As theyd done a decent job repairing my computer and because theyre a local Boulder company, I thought for sure that I could trust them to sell a working computer, albeit refurbished. I bought it for my husband whos in a PhD program, and only needed it for writing papers and lectures, doing research, and using PowerPoint. He barely used the computer until August of 2013 as he had the summer off. In late September the computer started having some issues, and finally crashed completely. We took it back to the store in early October 2013, only to hear that because we were outside the 3 month warranty they wouldnt do anything about it, and that it was totally unrepairable. I explained to them that wed hardly even used it for 3 of the 5 months and that even though it was 2 months outside of their warranty it is totally unacceptable that they sold us a computer that we cant even have fixed. The very least they could have done is to give us a partial refund or purchased it back for parts. To top it off, the owner tried to blame the issue on a small dent in the back of the computer, which had been there from the get go. I will NEVER recommend that anyone bring business to Boulder Mac Repair, and will in fact recommend that they dont.

Horrible service. I came in trying to find 2 screws that I had stripped when trying to do some repairs on my laptop. I was considered a waste of time and was just told to leave. I then went to Experimac and they gladly helped me out and we found the screws I needed in less than 5 minutes.

I called up got a quote and shared with Rebecca that this was urgent. I will need my computer for a presentation the following Monday. I dropped it off Thurday evening and received a call at 7:52pm that she was done, and that I could pick it up Friday anytime. Rebecca is awesome with a one-day turnaround on repairing my cracked MacBook Pro screen and a tune up. I have good and bad experiences with BMR. A few years ago, BMR changed my iPhone battery and it worked great. Recently, they replaced battery of another iPhone. Battery drained quickly after a charge. When I took back, they again replaced the battery for no additional cost. However, the issue persisted. I fed up with this and got battery + tools from Amazon and changed it myself. It works great.
