Went to get new running shoes about two weeks ago. Collin helped me and listened to all of my concerns (I was trying on new shoes after wearing the same brand/model for 15+ years) and spent a lot of time with me figuring out which shoes worked best. Left with two new pairs for both road and trails. Both pairs are working out great so far! Definitely top notch service and my favorite running store. Thank you again!

I had a great experience! I went in to buy my first nice pair of running shoes and was greeted promptly on entering despite how busy the store was. I didnt get the name of the associate who helped me but he listened to what I had to say, answered all of my questions, and I ended up walking out with a pair of Hokas that fit my purposes. He is truly amazing, patient, knowledgeable and all around the best - always a pleasant and exciting experience! For me, its worth a 1+ hr drive to work with the best and walk away happy every time.

I purchased a really expensive pair of shoes here - was not allowed to test them on the treadmill. I ran in them at home and they were painful. I asked to return them and was given a phone number to call. I was told marathon shoes can not be returned.

Boulder Running Company has some of the best shoe staff around. They will take time to listen to what you want, do a walking assessment, and then make fantastic recommendations on a wide variety of shoes. I never feel hastles nor up sold when I come here.

This was my first visit to the store to buy a pair of hiking/running shoes after a long hiatus from exercise after starting my family ... I thought I may have been intimidated by all the high-tech gear, veteran runners and feet assessment devices but it was the absolute opposite ... I received the most outstanding and personalized customer service from Mike who spent an extended amount of time with me to ensure I had the right shoes for my feet and hiking needs ... (what he doesn’t know about running, hiking, shoes and Boulder isn’t worth knowing) ... this is the kind of place you drive across the state for ... it really is the bomb and offers old fashioned service from the good old days that rarely exists in today’s fast world of online retail shopping. It’s such a gem ... I ended up buying a lot more than shoes and picked up a few awesome bargains from the sale racks ... I seriously will not shop anywhere else again ... thank you!

At my last visit Josh helped me find some great shoes for both trail and road that were also on sale. I snagged some great running apparel on a steep sale as well. When their system had an error and charged me full price for one of the sale items, they were quick to fix the issue and refund me the amount I had overpaid. Easy 5/5 rating.

After having a terrible experience with the manager at the Cherry Creek store, I called BRC in Boulder. I initially spoke with Keaton who could not have been nicer and more understanding. I followed up with Jackie a few days later, and purchased my shoes which she shipped to me the same day. In short, these two people were kind, most helpful, and have won my long term business. They clearly know how to treat their customers. I give them 5 Stars(They deserve 10!), and highly recommend you shop at their store. It will be very difficult to find a better one.

I was in the market for new shoes and wanted to do a gait test to get the best fit. I scheduled an appointment for 9 AM, got there shortly after 9 to find the doors locked. An annoyed employee told me they dont open until 10 and when I said I had scheduled a 9 AM appointment, they said I dont know how that could happen. and closed the door. Guess Im getting my shoes elsewhere!

SHAWN provided, hands down, THE BEST running shoe store experience Ive ever had. I feel super fortunate that he happened to be by the front door when I walked in. I came in to try on some less-minimal-style shoes than Im accustomed to because of lingering overuse symptoms in my toes and extensors. He assisted me for well over an hour trying on myriad shoes and explaining salient points on each, as well as referring me to new running resources, books and recovery methods. Hes a USATF-certified coach and Im sure had I encountered him somewhere other than a running store, his services and guidance would have cost an arm and a leg. He was patient, well-listened, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, kind, caring, and absolutely cool as a fan. Shawn is the guy. She brought three options and two insoles and we rotated through ensuring I found the proper fit. She told me what I should feel and how each shoe varied from one another.They also had a good sale in the shop! Would definitely go back for future shoe needs!

I have been coming to this store for years (decades now) starting with High School Cross Country shoes and their expertise, friendliness and selection is still the best worldwide. I’ve fallen into the pit of online sales for shoes but never again, the knowledge every sales person has is excellent and better than any online review of shoes. I have always been happy with my purchases here and feel confident with their evaluation when running on their treadmill. Great store and Matt is also a great source of information for shoes!

Im a retired guy looking for walking shoes since my tennis shoes I had worked for the gym, that I miss terribly. Need a vaccine now. Not much on shoes but decided I needed a good fitting and feeling one for walking. Jackie was very helpful, very efficient, friendly and brought out shoes till we found the perfect one. I bought an arm band to carry my phone and when I went home and tried it on it didn’t fit my phone. When I went back the next day they refused me a refund and only offered store credit despite the seem band not being used.

I made my first and only visit ever here during the last week of March 2019. I needed BRCs help either repairing or replacing a pair of running shoes that would be needed on the journey home for a full marathon on 3/30/19 (Wamego, KS - Wicked Marathon). Who knew that running shoes might not be the best shoes for travelling up and down the Manitou Incline and the Flatirons? (I had a pair of Salomon Mens Speedcross 4 CS Trail Runner in one of my travel bags - but strangely decided against using them - a decision for which Im still shaking my head in disbelief.)Annnnywayyyy, the sales person (twenty-ish female) who helped me was very knowledgeable and direct. So welcomed - to not have to struggle through terms and specifications and confusion (as you are likely to encounter at a large general sporting goods store.) No, Boulder Running Company seems to know, at least with my quick interaction and purchase here, their running shoes! Beautiful! Competency. Love it!And, to my great delight, they not only had my shoe (Saucony Ride ISO) and my size, which is always challenging (12.5 mens) they also had the color I like and get this - it was on sale - equal to or less than a stinkin online price. Amazing.My salesperson was quick, professional, educated on my purchase and needs and hooked me up. She solved the problem for me while I was on vacation, and far from home base, and I was able to complete my marathon in comfort and style. (These shoes are amazing - Im a 225lb guy, and only had 48 hours of sightseeing/walking to break them in before putting them to the test of 26.2 miles of snow and rain - but my dogs were quite happy - no foot issues whatsoever - in basically a completely new pair of shoes. Thats a testimony to Saucony, I realize, but the nice people at Boulder Running Company had EXACTLY what I needed, when I needed it. BLAM! In a Universe that seems to trick you every time you turn around, its nice to have someone getting your back once in awhile. Thanks BRC!

We stopped here during a day trip to Boulder while on vacation in the greater Denver area and really liked the stores product selection! We ended up buying a shirt and some hydration tablets, so cant say how the shoe purchase experience is but overall this store had a really good variety of running gear and related supplies.

Needed some new running shoes as my current ones hurt my feet everytime I went out. Super friendly and helpful staff, the lady who looked after us (unfortunately didnt catch her name, but if she sees this we are the couple from Sweden). Very knowledgeable and understanding of my needs, in fact so much so both me and the husband bought a new pair 😂. We even went out on our first run the same day and its like we were brand new runners. Sadly only visiting Boulder for a few weeks else I imagine we would be buying from there more often!!

Always buy our shoes here and replace them often to support our feet. The staff is excellent and helps with any type of problems you have with fitting shoes. The treadmill is a bonus for videoing you walking or running to see how your feet land.

Great running shoe store with friendly staff. They had every option for my favorite brand, Altra, At the lowest prices. I bought a pair and when I took it home it was causing a pain on one of my feet (on top of all places) I think it was defective sewing. They exchanged it for another pair with no problem. Awesome place!

Perhaps it was the end of the day (on Memorial Day weekend), but the checkout staff were not particularly pleasant when questioned about a sale price that did not ring up as advertised on a tent table with just that model of shoe. They did honor the price after taking a photo and asking someone else behind the counter; however, there was no sense that they were happy to help out a customer. As a customer of many years, having brought family members here for the right fit, I am questioning the sense of supporting a store that does not value customer service. Seems easier to use Amazon!

While the staff member we worked with was patient with us, we werent able to get as much insight from him as wed hoped. Came here instead of buying online/elsewhere so someone knowledgeable could lay out the basics for us on finding a proper fit for our shoes/ the mechanics behind our different options but we left feeling like wed learned nothing new and resorted to buying online.

Its the kind of customer service that one doesnt receive very often these days. Very impressive selection of footwear and sportswear. It pains me to write a mediocre review after years of going to BRC and getting good service. But, unfortunately, our last trip was disappointing. Both my wife and I went in looking for new running shoes. Neither of us were even given the offer to get a fit or get on the treadmill. We were simply shown a few pairs of shoes and didn’t feel that the salesperson really listened to our needs. I, particularly was clear that I felt I was in need of advice on my pronation but again, really no input or offer to help me assess my stride on the treadmill.My wife did end up buying a pair of shoes (basically the same as what she had previously had and now regrets it). I did not and ended up getting better service and a fit at a local competitor. So it worked out.I can say that their prices were not too bad compared to the competition and not too much more than online although with Boulder tax that certainly is part of the equation.Anyway, I hope this was a rare experience and again we have had plenty of previous experiences that were great.

They have a good selection of running shoes and apparel as well as a large selection of accessories. The staff are generally runners that are knowledgeable and helpful about the products they sell. They have a treadmill in store so you can try out the shoes. They know how to fit you properly and which shoes are suitable for the way you run or walk and your width needs. Prices are in line with anywhere Ive bought running gear and I have gotten some good sales deals. They have a loyalty program that earns you 10% of your purchases on the Jack Rabbit web site. I believe it can be applied in store as well.

Such a great place for everything related to running! they have all the latest styles of shoes, clothing, and gear for runners and athletes. super great selection, great deals/sales, and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I didn’t buy anything, but I would come here first if I ever needed running shoes! they have an extensive selection of Hoka one one, some Nike, New Balance, and more niche brands. they even have treadmills to try the shoes out before you buy them. they carry theraguns and recovery equipment as well.

I could not find anywhere to try on shoes I could wear for cross fit. I didnt want to purchase online. I needed to try them on to get the right fit. This store is a running store so I want too sure what Id find. They had a decent selection of shoes and they carried all sizes! I could actually try on shoes and get ones that fit me best. Caitlin was awesome! Spent at least 1.5 hours with us. Hubby has very bad knees to the point that walking and getting up has become hard, falls A LOT! She evaluated, ask lots of question, and actually listened. She considered numerous options did not hesitate to give her honest opinion yet let him make up his mind on his own. Best. Purchase. EVER. With his new Hokas He walked around almost pain free, could get immediately up and out of the car without balancing and flopping back down. Got some inserts for the work shoes too and that has seemed to help so far as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you have any special needs to gain better gait, balance, and stability! We did spend more then expected but only because of inserts and some moisture resistant socks which help as well! Thank you Caitlin you have made his life much easier! So happy we came in!

When I arrived at the store I was greeted by an associate named Mike. When I told him I was looking for new running shoes he was very patient and helpful. He asked lots of good questions to find out my needs, and recommended shoes that he thought would fit what I was looking for. He brought out 5 sets of shoes and explained every pair in a way I could understand. He took his time and let me try as many pairs on as I wanted, even letting me run on the treadmill multiple times and using his iPad to analyze each shoe and help me pick the best pair. He assisted me for over an hour before I finally chose the shoe I wanted. After my first run in my new shoes I can’t be happier, even set a PR! I will definitely be returning as this was one of the most positive customer service experiences I have had.

I was only there to buy a gift card for a sports person in my life. As a large woman, I felt a bit out of place, though folks often dont realize that large folks need good running shoes also.

Three salespeople joked and watched from across the store as my daughter and I looked at shoes for fifteen minutes. When I approached them they seemed offended that I was interrupting them. Finally, the store manager asked if we needed help. He was very helpful. Very strange. Seems like the store is staffed with runners. NOT sales people.

Needed to get good shoes fast. I have a back injury so its important to get the right ones. Got half-informed service. Ended up with a good pair of asics that do the job. They had a good selection, and even shoes in my size, but I ended up with one of those pink/purple shoes that they were stuck with.

I have been using boulder running company for at least ten years. I bought new shoes at BRC about two months ago and soon after developed shin splits and a possible stress fracture. I went back in to the store to see if they could help fix the situation but all they offered was to sell me another pair of shoes. I really liked BRC but I think I am done spending my money there.

This store is absolutely great. I went in looking for running shoes which needed to be very specific because I had multiple hip surgeries. One of the employees Mike spent over an hour and a half with me trying to find me the perfect shoe which we found. Their prices were the best I have seen as well but with that customer service I would have paid more for those shoes. I will be going back for all and any of my running needs.

After having a bad experience at another running shoe company in town I decided to try Boulder Running Company off of Pearl St.I had a wonderful experience with Matt who helped me find the best choice of shoes for me. The other people working there were friendly as well and interested in how I was liking the shoe etc.!!I did not feel rushed, Matt was very patient with me and answered all my questions happily as he is very knowledgeable.One of the nice things is if I wear them for 30 days and find they do not work good for me I can bring them back. This is the best running store Im aware of. Ive tried a couple others (including some of BRCs other locations) and I always come back to this store even though its an hour drive for me. The other places have employees. This place has runners who are passionate about it, friendly and genuinely helpful.

Jim really took the time to help me fit into a great shoe that already has my low back and knee feeling better. I feel like Im moving taller and stronger. He recorded how my feet move on the treadmill with my old shoes to help analyze my step and did the same with the new shoes to see if the correction was good. I feel so much better.

Terrible Place!!!! They used to return shoes. But now they wont if it was only worn one time!! I wore the shoes only twice before my feet hurt so bad I couldnt walk on them (which was only an hour). Also wish they had told me about and the return policy when I had bought the shoes. The service sucks. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I used to love Boulder Running company. The employees actually new a lot about fitting you for running shoes, and I got great individualized service. Since being bought out, they have gone totally downhill. The staff turnover seems higher, employees feel less knowledgeable, and I get poor service. Using up my rewards points on a new pair of shoes and then I am completely done with BRC. So sad.

This place is awesome. Great products but even more so GREAT staff.It is a rare thing to find a specialty store where the staff are not only super knowledgeable and eager to take the time to educate you but are NOT condescending IN THE LEAST (to less knowledgeable people like myself), which makes for a very comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience even if you are new to it all.

I came here as a beginner runner looking for supportive shoes because I was struggling with shin splints and blisters. I was helped by a young gentleman named Andrew who was amazing. He clearly knew what he was doing and recommended a great pair of shoes, insoles, and socks. There was no pressure to buy add-ons or more expensive items and the customer service was impeccable!

Im pretty frustrated with my experience here.I was recently diagnosed with a foot issue and came looking a supportive pair of shoes. I would later learn from my podiatrist that the zero-drop, wide toe box shoe I was sold was a poor choice. No worries, I thought, the salesman told me the return policy was that as long as I came back within 30 days, I could exchange my shoes for store credit, and if they were still sellable, I could even get my money back. Cool!I went in tonight and had a great experience with a knowledgeable salesmen, but when I went pay, I was informed that I had been communicated the return policy incorrectly. They simply cited company policy.Turns out they will only take shoes in sellable condition. Mine, unfortunately, had a visible scuff on the bottom from 2 weeks of ware and were not returnable. They gave me a 20% discount on my new shoes as a consolation, but Im overall pretty perturbed that Im stuck with a $150 pair of shoes that arent right for my footNext time Ill just buy my shoes on Sierra for half the price.

Helped me find a great pair of running shoes

Staff was more than helpful, they measured my foot and brought out 20+ pairs, but many they supplied did not work because my instep is larger than normal. After experiencing another stores care in understanding what pinched, areas that are tight, and skip lacings to prevent pressure. I probably wont go back to Boulder Running Co.They have a wide selection, but the team wasnt knowledgeable enough for large feet or unique. The experience became a, here try this one.

I’ve bought shoes for myself and two kids here for six years. Went in the other day and tried on a pair of shoes that had obviously been used. I asked for a new pair, salesman said they didn’t have others in my size so I said I’d pass... he yelled “AWESOME” right in my face, grabbed the shoes and walked away. That’s not normal or ok on any level. Unbelievable. Last time I’ll ever shop there and will encourage others to avoid as well.

My favorite running store

I am torn in writing this review because the positive experiences I have had in this store have been very positive, but the negative experiences have been very negative.On the positive, the retail associates are mostly very friendly and excited to help.However, on my last visit I was looking for the New Balance 1500T2. The Manager told me that they only had one left, and even though the pair in stock was 2 sizes too big for me, he suggested that it would ..probably be ok.When I mentioned that it would probably not be ok and that I was concerned that a serious running store would recommend an unsafe product he began laughing at me.My second negative experience happened today with who I can only assume is the same laughing manager. I purchased a Garmin Fenix 6X from the store after it first came out and have had nothing but problems with it since purchase (not the stores fault.)In working with Garmin technical support, I was issued a return authorization, and asked to return to the point of purchase with the watch and RA so that they retailer could replace the product and process the return back to Garmin.When I presented this information to the store manager he laughed at me and said ..we dont do that..; he again laughed at me when I suggested he contact his Garmin rep for clarification because ..we dont have a Garmin rep.I hate to say it because I have had some great experiences at this store, but because of laughing manager, I will not be back.

Looking at other reviews, there is clearly a common thread regarding your customer service. It’s much easier these days to just order shoes on amazon or wherever and do a painless return with them. To be competitive, your type of store has to be top notch in customer service. And it’s plainly not.

Very friendly staff and really helpful. Quick to help you when you walk in the door or leave you alone.

I received an UD pack for my birthday in July. After only a couple wears, the right zipper fell off and the seams came undone. I brought back to BRC and the initial interaction was great. They told me this was the first they’d seen of this, so I exchanged. After only two uses with the second vest, the same thing happened—same side, same issue. I brought it back super disappointed and wanted to do a full return. I didn’t take the bottles in bc honesty I didn’t think about it—I had two defective vests and had to visit the store related to the issue more than I should have. The first team member told me I needed to work it out with UD, or exchange for another of the vests, and there was nothing the store could do...for a product they sold me. Then the manager told me it was because I didn’t have the bottles. I told them I’d drop off the bottles but I at least wanted store credit at this time. The manager then told me “well, those bottles are worth like $27 so we can do anything without the bottles.” Oh my. I realize the issue is related to quality of UD but the fact that the store is the one selling it and where we bought it I expected better customer service given the repeat issue. They can easily work this out with UD, rather than the customer being the in between. Wouldn’t recommend BRC based on the customer service and limited willingness to help...only going back so I can bring the (critical $27) bottles and get a refund.
