Had a great experience here. We had to wait for a couple seats to open up at the bar. My fiancé ordered a drink to sip on while waiting. After about 5-10 minutes the bartender actually noticed he wasn’t drinking it (because he didn’t really like it) and made him a different drink! That was incredibly thoughtful and perceptive of him, especially since it was so busy. All the dishes we had for dinner were outstanding. Plates are meant to share. We had the broccoli Caesar, tagliatelle, ravioli and pork Milanese. We weren’t in the mood for fish, but a popular item for many people around us was the branzino.
I would give the staff at Fox & Knife all the stars in the sky. They were phenomenal! Michael John or his name could be John Michael was the best. He managed the bar and the seating at the bar flawlessly on a busy Saturday night. He is organized and can multi task. Truly a fantastic employee. The food was so amazing! I tried, with friends, a few apps, 3 kinds of pasta and the pork. Each dish was perfect! I cant wait to go back!
It is truly a privilege to experience a meal here and the long wait for a reservation is not surprising in the least. My partner and I enjoyed a memorable and exquisite anniversary dinner paired with incredible drinks. Everything served was incredibly well-balanced in flavor and clearly made with quality ingredients, including cocktails featuring fresh herbs. It was absolutely delightful to dine here and we look forward to coming back to what might be our new favorite restaurant in Southie.
We celebrated my birthday here last night and the food was fantastic! Every single item we ordered was delicious, and the bottle of wine we got (with helpful advice from our server) paired perfectly with them all. Eva, our waitress, was attentive, kind, and so nice! We loved this place and will definitely be back.
Probably one of THE best meals of my life. And the service was incredible!!!I dined alone and felt so taken care of - this place is an absolute gem!!Cocktail: BuickI needed a moment after my first sip. This is incredibly unique, and requires your full attention to enjoy its complexity. Just…wow.Starter: Broccoli Caesar (+ fried chickpeas)Match made in heaven!!! Seriously, sprinkle the fried chickpeas over the roast broccoli Caesar. Incredible blend of flavors and textures. This will make even the most fervent broccoli hater a convert!Main: Papparadelle d’anatraHoly…wow. Amazing spicing on the duck and the pasta was cooked perfectly. An incredible fall dish.Dessert: Struffoli (doughnut holes)Seriously how was EVERYTHING this good?! Donut holes came out perfectly eggy on the inside and the mascarpone sauce and chocolate chips made it incredibly indulgent, but the donut holes were so fluffy it helped balance it out.And did I mention the service was impeccable?! Fox & The Knife deserves all of the awards it’s received, and more!
The food here is absolutely delicious & fresh. Tiagelle was a great started with a perfect mix of crispiness and softness. The Funghi Fritter is another favorite that has all the perfect flavors & textures - the mind really made all the difference. For the pasta we tried Zafferano con vongole & Pappardelle d’Antra and both were very good. The pappardelle was my favorite 🤩In addition to all of that, the service was excellent & the waiter was very polite & fun - he took the time to explain dishes & make recommendations which made our night a successful one!I would totally come again.
Wow this place was AMAZING! Not only was the food amazing, but the waitstaff was impeccable. Our waiter Michael was incredibly nice and the host Dan was the absolute best!!! This was by far my favorite place I ate at during my weekend trip to Boston. If you love pasta, you have to come. Make sure to make a reservation. The music was also so fun!
Totally lives up to the hype! Incredible, fresh, memorable traditional Italian. The apertivi (and, therefore, spritz!) selection is fantastic, and the frozen espresso martinis were like fancy coffee milkshakes. The fried mushrooms were juicy and crisp; the octopus on the crostini was tender; the raviolo was rich and comforting; and the Milanese was a showstopper with the perfect tangy salad to balance it out. The servers/staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Already excited to go back!
The best dining experience in Boston! Everything was awesome! Alyssa was an awesome guide for dinner! I especially liked recommendations for wine with angry old man and horse.!
Fantastic food and service in a cozy space. We ordered a bunch of things and shared between three people. Servings were great size for this without overstuffing or wasting food. All around a delightful dinner.
We enjoyed our experience here so much, I already can’t wait to return. The food here was phenomenal as well as the service we received from the waitstaff and bartenders. Recommendations were spot on: the soups, pastas, and desserts were al unlike anything I’ve had elsewhere. The cocktail menu is also very diverse. A great place for visitors and locals. The price is justified by the quality of the food.
Hands-down my favorite spot in Boston during my short trip. Your time at the restaurant is limited to 90 min due to the pandemic but we had plenty of time to eat all of our food. The service was phenomenal. We had two servers who explained the menu, provided recommendations, drink pairings and were very nice. The food tasted fantastic. The tigelle bread was warm and buttery. The bietola and burrata was so good. Spaghetti con Vongole was great but the ravioli carbonara took home the prize. Definitely try this place out!
What a terrific restaurant! I started with the tequila rosemary paloma. Top notch. Then my husband and I tried all the breads and the ricotta. Ricotta is a must as is the foccacia. Not all are pictured because I was starving. Then we tried the raviolo and torelli verdi. I did not understand the rosemary with the carbonara raviolo. The tortelli verdi was my favorite dish of the night! Skipped dessert... because that was a carbo-load...but well be back!!
Delicious food dine in a tapas style which is great as you get to taste different things! Our server was great and provided wonderful recommendations. Do yourself a favor and order at least two pasta dishes. All fresh made pasta and you can really tell. Yum.
Visited Fox and the Knife during the summer and it was a 10/10. The service and outdoor set up were tremendous and the food on another level. The chef and founder, Karen Akunowicz, was on the latest season of Top Chef, and when we told the waitress we were big fans of her and the chef, she came out and spoke to us for 5 minutes! A really incredible experience and I can’t recommend Fox and the Knife highly enough!
Fish had a ton of bones. Pastas and bread were great. Really nice atmosphere. Would go again for the pastas. Liked this spot more than Chickadee.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston! The atmosphere is great - love sitting at the bar or by the front windows. The bartenders are so nice and helpful. Highly recommend the ricotta and chickpeas to start - we get them every time we go. Pasta dishes are small but very very good. Drinks are also great - the aperol spritz is extremely well done. Definitely make reservations in advance as it is always busy.
Absolutely beautiful food. Innovative, but utilizing classic flavor profiles and simple, fresh ingredients. The desserts were probably the best I have ever had in Boston. The double chocolate sorbet is an absolute must.
Amazing food, tried things I never knew that would be good together!
The food was fantastic - the chicken was moist and flavorful, the bufala with greens was the perfect texture, and the spaghetti was very saffron-forward. But my favorite part was the escarole under the chicken. I like greens, but I didn’t know greens could be THAT good, it was so delicious. The only complaint I have is that the panzanella wasn’t moist enough, but if you like croutons you’ll enjoy it. Oh and the olive oil cake is heavy, so just be aware.
Very good food. Service was fair. Dinner without desert should not take almost 2 hours on a Sunday night. Kitchen needs help. They had to buy us drinks because they knew there were issues
Love the fact that there was hand sanitizer at each table! Our waitress wore her mask at all times. The weather was nice out so we were able to sit inside at the front by the open window. Loved it! The food was nice. We did a tapas style and tried several dishes and shared them. The decor is cute and stylish. The grapefruit mocktail was tasty. Not sugary. It was a great night catching up with a dear friend.
Slow service and salty food. Also didn’t appreciate the “4% kitchen appreciation fee” hidden amongst the food items, and not on the 2nd slip where you sign for the tip. If you’re going to add an automatic gratuity, just be upfront about it.
Our server was extremely insightful, food is outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who wants to have an amazing date night or celebration. My girlfriend and I will 100% be back. Definitely a must hit restaurant in Boston!
Excellent spot for modern Italian cuisine. High quality, seasonal ingredients make up a well rounded menu that brings out the simplicity and elegance which is so necessary in Italian cooking. Have been multiple times and have not had anything I did not absolutely love!
Broccoli Caesar salad and the carbonara were both delicious. Excellent wine pairing and a delicious blueberry 🫐 hand pie for dessert!
This place is amazing for date night.Cocktails were amazing, I recommend you go on a night that the Bartender Kelly is working, he made the best Tarragon Gimelt I’ve ever had!We had Focaccia to start with, delicious and cheesy, had all the herbs in the bread! Bietola & Burrata as well, the mozzarella was seasoned perfectly. For our main courses, Tagliatelle Bolognese, the boar was cooked very well and there was a ton of it mixed in with the tagliatelle, I had the Pollo al mattone, the chicken was juicy and stayed warm even after cutting into it and talking in between bites, the escarole was delicious for my first time having this vegetable! (Didn’t get to take a pic because I dug right in) Our waiter was great, our service couldn’t have been better. He gave us great recommendations and was thorough with answering any questions we had. We even had the manger check in on how everything was and he was super polite and nice. Would definitely come back here and recommend to anyone who likes Italian Foods!
Phoebe our waitress was excellent. The pasta was the best Ive ever had. Maybe I got caught in tourist traps in Italy but the pasta here blew Italy out of the water. My family was talking about it for 2 days after our dinner. So glad we came here even though getting there was not the easiest.
Fabulous service, listened to our preferences and gave great suggestions. Best fish Ive eaten in years if not ever.
Really good experience in many ways. The pasta is indeed of very good quality, the service was extremely pleasant, and everything was clearly made from very good ingredients. The execution of the dishes left more to be desired relative to the hype about this place online. My favorite flavor flavor was fresh mint added to the charred Brussels sprouts. The pasta texture was really quite lovely, but the tomato butter and Pepe e cacio both had flavor profiles that were not my favorite. They were very well executed but perhaps I just did not like them. The chicken was very well cooked but did not feel so special to me.An example that stands out as what I think can be improved… and I really think it can be… is the focaccia. I was excited to have focaccia as a bread option and I was disappointed for a restaurant at this price point to offer a very simple, quick-yeast focaccia with very little flavor. It is served with cheese sandwiched in a cut focaccia and no amount of cheese will hide that this bread is very similar to a pan pizza from one of many chains. I think rising this dough overnight in a refrigerator would make it infinitely more tasty.
Overly creative misses. Also super noisy place by design. Too bad; they try hard but blow it.
I expect this dinner to be a very memorable one. Every dish was better than the other, from appetizers to desserts - my favorite was the bolognese. The staff was also lovely; even though we had to wait to get to our table, the team definitely made up for it with their service and complimentary dishes.Easily one of the top spots in Boston!
Great atmosphere, loved being able to see the staff at work. Attentive, fun, overall wonderful folks working here. Everything was amazing, the ricotta, the asparagus, all the pastas, the steak. The creamsicle inspired dessert was dreamy! Cant wait to go back and see what is in season on my next visit!
Great drinks, food, and service. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and seeing the cooks work was really fun.
Oh so good. Food was fantastic and The training that the team has undergone is very evident. Ginny was so impressive as a server and if you are luck enough to get her, you are in luck! Wish we lived in town so we could frequent this awesome restaurant. Nice vibe and relaxed setting. This is a must if you are in Boston.
This place is so cute and has great food! When they opened we could barely ever get a table, a few years later and it’s still pretty booked up! My fave dish is the bolognese! Also, you have to try the fried chickpeas! They’re definitely a must have. We never eat here without ordering the chickpeas. All in all a great place for authentic Italian food. The pasta is so fresh.
Absolutely everything we tried was delicious! The waitstaff was very attentive and kind. The ambiance was wonderful. It was really a lovely evening. I could not recommend this restaurant enough!
This place is fantastic and everything is delicious. Fox & Knife is a lively new spot in Southie serving light and tasty Italian cuisine. Everything in the menu is prepared to perfection and I would highly recommend the pesto pasta with pistachio.I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Service was absolutely incredible. And the food was spectacular, desert was exquisite 👌😋😍
After all the hype I was expecting it to be better than it was. The prices match the hype and not the quality. If prices matched better then I would have given 4 stars
Lovely with a capital L . We were fortunate to receive a dinner for 2 w wine pairing over our donation to the local college and it was stellar. The amazing Alexandra, the manager took care of every detail and they prepared a greatest hits menu for us that we loved. Can i admit right here and now that I am in love w Spaghetti!? Its a delicious pasta w some nice heat on it which was suprising but welcome. We really enjoyed the opening biscuit? W prosciutto and butter. Its incredible as well. We also thought the wine pairings and cocktails were really well put together w the meal presented. I am 100% returning as I want to try more of the pasta and the Branzino, which really caught my attention. The server, Tori was flatout incredible as was the hostess. Everyone is working hard to attend to everyone and make sure theyre being constantly attended to . Highly recommend
Amazing food and service, absolutely loved it. Fried mushrooms are a must, freshly made pasta was really good too.
A great spot in South Boston. Atmosphere is energetic and friendly. Food was cooked to perfection, I had the Bronzino and it went very well with their house pickled fennel. The Focaccia as an app was really great too!Certainly will be back!
I was so excited to eat at the Fox & The Knife. I had heard the buzz, was excited and booked a far-out reservation. The location is very cool, tight, social bar up front with a surprising amount of seating in the back.I really wanted to like my time at the Fox, however, I was left feeling unsure. The service was ok. We were encouraged to order everything upfront so the kitchen could pace our orders. This was fine, however, we were planning on spending quite a bit of time dining, so we felt a bit rushed to get our entire evenings meal placed. The food was good and pretty well paced. We ordered the olives (a must), the chickpeas (an absolute must), the focaccia bread (good, but heavy and cheesy, and the butter.. We had heard great things about the focaccia, so we ordered what we thought would be homemade butter to go along with it, but it was two puck shaped pieces of bread with a smear of butter. I wish we were told this and I wish we didnt order it.Our entrees consisted of the mushroom truffle pasta, the bolognese and the chicken. All were good, all were over seasoned and very heavy. We had originally ordered the broccoli salad as an appetizer, but it came out with our entree, which was fine. We were happy we ordered it because it was really the only vegetable on our table. The reason for the 3/5 is based off a few reasons. The entire night we felt pressured to continue to order more drinks; I finally had to say that I was just going to drink water. For majority our time, we felt suffocated by the open concept kitchen and the smell of burnt rosemary, sage and butter. Dont get me wrong, those ingredients in combination are amazing, but by the end of the night all we wanted to do was leave, walk outside and take a breath of fresh air. Finally, with the lack of vegetables on the menu, the heavy dishes, and the smell of the kitchen, we couldnt help feel that this is a restaurant that you eat at in the winter. I will be back I am sure, but for now, I have no burning desire to go back to the Fox & the Knife.
Fantastic food! Fantastic drinks! This restaurant is consistently considered one of the best in Boston and once you try it you’ll realize why!
Great food and experience. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Food is excellent and drinks are very good
The workers are the nicest, the food is also good just a very very small plates for the expensive prices... but it was nice!
Several weeks into the lockdown, I wanted something special, a really nice dinner date for myself and my husband, and turned to Fox & the Knife delivery- it was a fantastic idea! We had a wonderful date night, and all the food arrived perfectly and tasted amazing. The focaccia was absolutely out of this world: so moist and flavorful (not to mention how amazing it smelled) and with a delicious cheese! Honestly I would have ordered two of these. The brussels and burrata appetizers were also so good. For entrees, the pork milanesa came with an incredible sauce and salad, and the combination was way better than I expected. The pasta with boar Bolognese was quite light on the sauce, but still very tasty. Overall, such an delightful evening, Im definitely coming back in person!
Fantastic service. Though I forget our servers name he was cordial, knowledgeable and very open about the negatives of some dishes in comparison to others.
I am giving this a 5 but there was room for improvement with our experience. We had a 9:15pm reservation on a Saturday night and it took us until 9:50pm before we were sat at our table. After waiting for almost 30 minutes we were taken to a hightop cocktail table in the front which was surrounded by other bar guests and not nearly large enough to accommodate all the dishes we planned to order and share. I realize that it was also the 1 year anniversary so they were probably busy but still. I think after the first 10min we should have been offered drinks on the house while we wait. So eventually we are at the table. There were 4 of us and we ordered 11 dishes plus the restaurant comped us the Burrata which was appreciated.Starting with the bread, I was really surprised by the focaccia that was warm and crispy and cheesy, what a delight. The brussels and broccoli were both delicious but I think the burrata ended up being my #1.As a group we decided that the Orecchiette was the favorite pasta. The flavors were unique and interesting and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Next, I loved the Luna followed by the Pepe E Cacio. There was nothing wrong with the Bolognese but compared to the others, this was our least favorite. The entrees were both good, the carrot polenta was specifically interesting but I preferred the crispy pork.At $206.00, I thought the service was good (outside of the reservation thing) and the meal was a good value. I would absolutely come back. Since there are appropriately generous portions, on my return, I would not order a 4th pasta and a second entree, it was too much food.
We had the best experience, and it was the best meal we have had in recent history (even pre-covid). We flew in from DC and this was our first stop in town, and it was all we talked about the rest of the weekend!I seriously cannot say enough good things. The food was incredible and we are still talking about the chickpeas (and every other dish). The service was also amazing and their recommendations were great. We were the last reservation, and to be expected last people in the restaurant, but we never felt rushed to leave and the service was amazing all the way through.Thank you all for a wonderful experience! Telling everyone we know to go to Boston just for this meal alone, its that good
Really enjoyed a majority of the dishes and the cocktails. Our server, Tori was a delight. I reccomend ordering alot of the pasta dishes as they really shine here. The food is designed family style so the portion of pasta are designed for and supports 2 people easily. The prosciutto and bread is incredible truly. Get 2 of those if you can,its that good. Overall, the dishes were all good (werent thrilled over the brocolli salad. It was okay.) The afyer dinner aperitif bar cart is fun and adds a nice layer to the restaurant.
Absolutely incredible food, great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Cant recommend this place enough! The food was absolutely mind blowing: so flavorful and balanced and interesting. Clearly, a lot of thought was put into every element of every dish.
Very good although I found every dish too salty. Service was fantastic
Small portions. Ordered this for delivery - it was $24. Pictured below is before I took one bite. I called the restaurant to make sure it was correct and they told me the portions and undersized to share. I cant imagine sharing this with anyone else. With only 6 agnolottis, it ends up being $4 per agnolotti.
Incredibly warm staff; food that is at once hearty and delicate; each plate is like a small work of art you almost dont want to eat it, but then you do and it is next level deliciousness, the likes of which may be unparalleled in our fair city. If there were a 6th star l, I would give it whole heartedly. From the rosemary in my Paloma to the color choice for the bathroom stalls (and beautiful bathroom floor!) every detail is imbued with love and mindfulness. 🦊🔪❤️
Well deserving of the Best New Restaurant by Food and Wine mag. the saffron spaghetti and clams, homemade ricotta, and especially the broccoli Caesar were real standouts. The staff makes everything perfect, from cocktails suggestions to seating and there is a lot of love put in to the food. A great neighborhood spot in Southie - but make sure you make a reservation, or you may be out of luck getting in on the weekend
What a delightful addition to Bostons Italian restaurants! Chef Karen Akunowicz has created a beautiful, intimate, lively spot great for groups or dates. The food was divine. The focaccia is a MUST have. Our pasta was perfectly cooked. Broccoli Caesar was innovative and delicious. Truly cannot wait to go back and bring everyone I know!
Absolutely delicious pasta, recommend them all!
Amazing staff, food and service will for sure be going back some day!
As a kid I remember reading about the glutinous romans. The conquering Italians that invented barbarian entertainment via the colosseum. In theatre, the entrances through the audience to the stage are named still named from Roman heritage as “vomitorium.” These Italians ate so much, they ate until they threw up, just so they could eat more. It never made sense to me; that is, until I took my wife here. The food was so delicious; the flavors so playful and bountiful, that we could not help but keep eating and ordering. I now understand why the Italians would eat. Throw up, and eat. This is the place. Eat here
The service here was absolutely excellent, as was the food. Our waitress let us know that there was a large group and that we should probably put our entire order in instead of ordering entrees and dessert separately, and she was very helpful with any questions we had. The brussels sprouts were the best Ive ever had; they had a unique sweet and umami flavor. The focaccia was pretty good, too, and the balance of cheese and bread was just right. The ice cream sandwich was a little too salty but otherwise great.
5 stars! You know theres got to be a reason why this place is so hard to get a normal dinner reservation for even on a weekday. The food was amazing but I really want to start by mentioning how awesome the service was! Our server Alyssa B. (according to the receipt) was very attentive and made us feel like we were her only table. When I mentioned I wanted to try an amaro flight she personalized a great flight for me and boy she was spot on with all of her suggestions! Honestly, she made the night for us!We started with the focaccia and the broccoli caesar which was definitely a great choice. The focaccia was the most delicious olive-oily, cheesy but still light bread. The broccoli was a bit lemony for our taste but it was still quite delicious, I just think next time Ill get a different choice. For dinner we got the tagliatelle and the scallops which were solid choices; my wife even commented that the pasta was better than she had in Italy. The scallops had a wonderful sear on them and were nice and crisp but still not overcooked. There was just so much flavor coming from these dishes, every bite was something new and exciting. We finished our meal with a latte for my wife and yet another perfect amaro choice for me along with a chocolate mousse and the apple torta. The mousse was very chocolatey without being too sweet and it was served with a coffee mousse among other chocolate garnishes which provided a great variety of textures. The torta was served with a ginger whipped cream and salted caramel sauce which was an excellent combination. With every bite you would get a nice hit of ginger followed with a cakey-buttery apple taste and finally a salty caramel finish. It was perfect!Seriously, every aspect of this meal was absolutely amazing and I WILL be back again. I thought this place was a lot of hype but Chef Karen really put something special together here.
Sooo disappointed. We were all looking forward to going here to celebrate a special occasion... my older son and DIL became home owners!!! We decided to dine at The Fox and Knife for a memorable experience and well, we certainly did get that!We were seated outside on the patio (5 or 6 tables on the sidewalk). It was about 88 degrees, abundant sunshine, and the umbrella to shade our table was broken. One of the staff came over and said, well the good news is the sun will go down, and then youll have shade. Um, its 5:45pm...the sun isnt going down for 2+ hours (yes, she really said that)...and so it began. Eventually they did find another umbrella somewhere that my husband had to drag around and open. (truth)Before I say anything else I would like to give a shoutout to our waitress (Eva). She was fun, efficient and knowledgeable! We got started with drinks and the fried chick peas. Drinks were terrific and the chick peas were quite yummy! It spiraled downward from here. Our meal began with the artichoke app and the burrata app. Both were pretty ok and were very small portions (there were 5 of us in total). We had the focaccia bread which looked good in photos, but ours looked nothing like that. It was greasy, had NO seasonings AT ALL on it (as focaccia ordinarily does and as shown in photos) and the cheese inside tasted like someone took 2 slices of kraft cheese, and melted that in the bread.Next course, 2 orders tortelli, 1 wild boar bolognese, and an order of the spaghetti with clams. Tortelli was pretty to look at it...yeah, thats about it. Very very bland. It sounded so good on the menu, but it did not deliver. Plain, no seasoning in the middle of the torelli or in the dish at all. Not to mention, there were approx 6 of them in each order at $23 a piece. Let down big time. The wild boar... My younger son said (and I hate to even write this) it tasted like dog food. The rest of us felt that might have been a little harsh, but the end result was not good. The spaghetti and clams in tomato butter was terrible. So buttery, (slimy, greasy). It did have some seasoning, but something about the dish was off, and both sons did not feel well later (I will spare you those details) and we attributed it to that dish.On a side note, I want to again mention that the waitress did bring us the tigelle to make up for the sad focaccia, but that was not much of a consolation. We also did tell her along the way about a couple disappointing dishes, but we didnt want to keep complaining all dinner.Final dishes, hanger steak and pork milanese. The pork milanese was an average dish. Not bad. The steak was 5 tiny bites of absolute rubber. It was awful...AWFUL. At $39 it was a cruel joke. The final straw was when my DIL and I went to use the ladies room. We went downstairs to find both the ladies and mens room had backed up. While I know this is probably not their fault, maybe have a sign at the TOP of the stairs. They brought us to the restaurant next door to use their bathroom. Awkward. We dine at some really fabulous restaurants with equal price points and have had wonderful experiences. TFAK is overpriced and underwhelming. When the $3 fried chickpeas is the star of dinner...theres a problem. Im completely puzzled after having read so many good reviews.
I would sit in an actual snow bank on the side of West Broadway for even a sniff of Chef Karen Aukunowiczs cooking. This is among the very best restaurants in Boston, and definitely my favorite.
This was my first visit, very easy to get on public transportation coz its right in front of Broadway station. We had an 8 pm reservation and when we reached it was fully packed, so definitely recommend reservation. I want to state first that the service was outstanding. I think our server was Warren ( unless I heard wrong coz there was loud music, not complaining), she did a great job of explaining all the courses and the dishes. We ordered the burrata for the antipasti which was pretty good, the vinaigrette was a bit on the saltier side but fine. For mains, we ordered the spaghetti con Volgone(clams) and the medium rare steak to be shared between two, the dish sizes were decent, we didnt want to eat too many carbs for dinner so had only the single pasta dish. But wow that pasta was the best pasta I have had in a long time . The saffron was well Infused into the pasta and it was perfectly Al dente suited to my taste. I am going next time just for that. The steak was delicious as well and came with broccolini . We had multiple drinks and they were made well, I loved their amaro and recommend trying it. Its pricey but at least it lived up to the expectations. Recommend it if your are around Broadway and your budget allows it!
The service, food and workers were top notch. Thank you for a great night
Food was delicious but I wouldnt return. They have a 90 minute limit on the table and they are very vocal about it. This totally killed my experience. They made an exception so we could order dessert but if we wanted another bottle of wine it had to be to go (??). To me dining out is an experience that shouldnt be stressed nor time capped.
DINNER REVIEWWOW! Just WOW! I had heard good things about Fox & The Knife but I’ve also heard good things about other new restaurants and I’ve been disappointed. Not here! This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Boston and I can’t wait to come back.WAIT: We went right when it opened and beware that the bar before the dining room does so we had to wait about 15 minutes. No big deal and I imagine that many of you will not be going right when it opens so check with others about prime time wait. Also something to consider: it’s kind of isolated so if you don’t have a reservation and don’t want to wait, not the best area to come for restaurantsFOOD: This is what we came for...when I took a look at the menu, it was short, especially for an Italian restaurant, but I LOVE short menus (I always do). It means they specialize and focus on making a few good things really good. That said, I think I could have ordered every thing on the menu and been very happy...each element of each dish was clearly intentional and there for a reason. It was only two of us so we didn’t order too much but here is what we got:Focaccia Taleggio - “$12 for focaccia?!” you’re probably thinking. But this isn’t just homemade buttery focaccia (which alone would be worth it!). This is a FANCY grilled cheese with amazing melted cheese in the middle. This is a must-get! Better yet, get a couple!Harissa Braised Agnello - I am not a big pasta person so I went with this. This was a beautiful, tender, fall off the bone lamb shank over some delicious carrot polenta and top with mint gremolata. My only wish: That I ordered another.Pistachio Ice Cream Sandwich - My goodness, this off-menu dessert item is a MUST GET. I mean, you have to like pistachio but even if you do a little, GET IT. It’s pistachio ice cream between these thin waffle cookies and then dipped in chocolate that has hardened and is drizzled with pistachios. It all held together really well which makes me think they assembled it beforehand. I think it’s better that way because it’s not too messy.Run, do not walk, to Fox & The Knife!
Great staff and service, the drinks were fantastic. All of the staff were wearing Masks, Pasta i ordered was to die for and super delicious
Karen is nothing without Joanne. Below expectations and unfortunately poor service - exceedingly long wait times in between primi and secondi ~40mins :-/
Warm and friendly staff. Very welcoming.
Such great cocktails and incredible pasta!
I expect anyone who enjoys going out with there significant other.Would find this place totally awesome to go to. Everythings superb atmosphere, food and staff
The drinks are ok. The staff is pretentious and food is midocre at best.
