Pictures preloaded into the text-web based system U-Haul has available for the convenience of customers is in need of constant updating as the trucks wear and tear or as accidents happens with prior customers depending on where the truck got impacted specifically, should be a requirement that a new picture image is uploaded again for updating old one taken another complete full assessment of the truck needs to be conducted to continuously maintain the truck as its shown in the already outdated preloaded images in their system. I had to actually take pictures of my own in order to feel safe/secured that I would not get charged for everything or something that was already present fue example such as trash, dents, scratches broken parts or faulty equipment the check in built system only allows for only 1 picture which is limited should you need to take additional. Also, the only $19.99 sale pitch should be more specific. It doesnt state per hour, nor for the whole rental time frame, nor for the day it doesnt say much other than purl its only $19.99 this doesnt say much to the customer and it could potentially pose represents as false advertisement since it could lead anyone to think likewise. Nobody explained this to be at all in the store nor promote it at all. It would be nice to know what youre beguiling into but at that at least you know that youre about to get into a craapy truck to begin with so that nobody unnecessary has you spend the extra additional time after paying documenting it. Again, you wanted feed back, I was honest enough to give it to you..now its up to the company if whether they really care about the business quality and convenience that they are offering to their customer really matters or not but most of all whether the Uhaul company actually values their returning customers at all. If the business quality and convenience it offers disappears and does not remain persistent as it should then allot of customer will be lost in no time. Has been twice I rented from Uhaul 1 time at the Truman Highway, Hyde Park, MA location site and second time at the one on Mass Ave Uhaul, Boston, MA location site within a month time frame and so far what I got to say is your vehicles need allot of help. Specially your 10 cubic trucks and vans to point some out.Good luck with implementing this in the future in a timely fashion before you lose many good loyal customers.

Make sure your vehicles are clean first off. The van was nasty there were stains all over the windows like dirty hands food wipes across the windows, seats were sticky, the passenger mirror was broken. I was also charged double due to someone not checking the vehicle back in in a timely manner and they tried to charge for gas even though the vehicle came back with gas in it. The issue was resolved however it should have never happened if people were doing their jobs PROPERLY. So no I would not recommend this location nor will I be using it ever again I don’t care how close it is to me I will drive the extra miles to go to a location that has their act together.

I rented four Uboxes from UHaul and stored them in Boston for almost three months. Had them delivered on Monday and three of them were bolted shut with metal brackets and lag bolts (not shown in the photo). I then spent three hours on hold, finally got someone who called the manager in Boston. Got a request for a photo of the bracket which I sent and then never heard back from them...ever. I ended up driving 25 minutes one way to the hardware store to buy $40 worth of tools (mine were locked inside the Uboxes) and then spent over two hours prying multiple brackets off and removing lag bolts. Uhaul is extremely prompt to bill you for services rendered but do you think they could be bothered to call to apologize or offer to compensate me for my time and expense of doing their job...not. Buyer Beware! Uhaul has terrible customer service and unless they make it right I will gladly give anyone and everyone my opinion of their service (or lack thereof).

Terrible customer service and extremely impatient staff behind the desk. The lady working there was insufferable and extremely rude to my family. She began arguing with us and even yelling at us. She kept saying we were wasting her time. I fear she may have forgotten she was getting paid to be there. Consequently, she was wasting OUR time by yelling at paying customers instead of providing the service required of her.Patience and customer care are ancient concepts long lost on this pathetic establishment. It is baffling that U-Haul would let a location like this go unchecked. Long lines, terrible service, and a run down facility. Avoid at all cost unless you fancy being yelled at by an incompetent oaf.

The U-Haul attendant Shatora was so helpful! Make sure you reserve days ahead because same day rentals reservations aren’t always guaranteed. Shatora was able to work things out and was able to get me a rental. She definitely deserves a raise or a promotion because she’s amazing!

The whole facility of staff was unprofessional. The staff members were talking to each other the entire time while dealing with customers. Theyre language was unprofessional. A lot of them were loud talking and making jokes. The line of customers was very long due to how slow they were moving due talking with each other too much. The manager was just as lax as the workers. This location needs a mobile pickup option because I got there 25 min earlier than my pickup time and left 40 min later. All of them need to be more focused on their customers and not each other

Worst customer service ever in a Uhaul.The only place where a reservation is a false advertising. You reserved but when you arrive they say is a request that is not active until you show up and is not reserved they offer what they have left... Surprise!!! only a bigger and expensive unit is available.... the parking staff was rude and didnt even stop to listen for a simple question before pushing you out, rude.Im a 20 year client that will use your services as a last resort or never again.

I was ripped off for fraudulent gas charges.Rented a van to pick up some furniture. Drove a total of 9 miles, which was clearly visible on the odometer. When I went to return it, I waited 20 minutes for someone at the return station before the person working the front desk told me to just leave the keys in it and go. Half an hour later I received a receipt online, where they charged me for 6 gallons of gas.This is far more than a simple clerical error. DO NOT leave without checking in your vehicle personally. DO NOT return it after hours. Make sure youre there when the check it in and verify that everything theyre recording is correct & accurate.Positives? The van was clean & in good repair. Thats about it, though.

My parents rented a truck from this location. It was old and dirty, which we tried not to notice too much hoping we could just get the moving job done. My parents were driving it on the highway when something inside the hood exploded and released smoke that filled up the road. We had to call the police and firefighters to help and get the truck towed. When we called the store, they were extremely apathetic and made the process of getting a refund difficult; they told us we had to call customer service and that they couldn’t do anything until they had information about the tow truck company. We had to get that information from the police officers, who were held up with something. We asked the person at the store to hold on just a moment, and they told us we would have to call back. When we called back, they didn’t pick up. Needless to say, my parents are traumatized and felt they could have been seriously injured. Worst experience ever.

Got chased by a screaming person when trying to drop my truck off. Got charged a fee as a result. Customer service women was also condescending and rude. 0 stars, the one in Cambridge is much better run even if its a little bit further.Update: After this experience, the U-Haul didnt end up charging me like they said they would, but they DID just randomly start charging my card for small amounts as other people on here have described. I called my bank to contest the charge and they told me it looked like straight up fraud. So, I revise my score to -1 stars.

I had a very poor experience at this Uhaul. I had made a reservation a month in advance. I had the equipment in hand. I ended up waiting 35 minutes to be finally served by a really rude receptionist and her manager. Receptionist wanted to find a reason to cancel my appointment. The place is obviously under staffed and staffed with under qualified people.Enoc Ayuso cancelled my reservation because I asked him how long it would take to install a hitch and he said he could take a day even though I had a reservation for a specific time. I heard on the talkie that their installation technician had left cause the previous customer had cancelled his hitch installation.Enoc Ayuso then refused to answer my questions and proceeded with canceling my reservation because I asked him a question and without my consent. The staff ended up yelling and screaming profanities at me while laughing. My only comfort is knowing that I will never go to that U-Haul location again.It is sad that the customer service has to fall so low in this country.

Went in to have hitch installed with confirmed appointment. Got there and they said you need to get a call to confirm and then talked to manager and they said have no idea where the part is. I understand Covid delays but they dropped the ball numerous times. Don’t bother with this place.

Absolutely nobody in the entire store besides one employee behind the counter was wearing a mask. The trucks windows were down and there was snow inside the truck. Along with that, there was so much snow on top that it was barely drive-able without snow falling off as you went covering the windshield and hitting cars behind. Terrible experience, by far the worst Ive ever had with U-Haul.

Customer service was pretty rude. I booked a dolly and when I came to pick it up they told me they didn’t have it. The rude customer service ladies told me repeatedly at least 10 times, if I didn’t like it I could go somewhere else.

Shut this location down or start completely over. Rude, unprofessional, belligerent service is the norm after three experiences in the last year. Theres a reason why this location has an unimpressive 3.1 stars on Google, 2.8 stars on Womply, a measly 2 stars on Yelp, and ONE POINT FIVE stars on Angies List. Thats an average of 2.35. Out of 5. Thats 47%. Cut the mess. Be better. Its exhausting.

When we first rented the truck, there was a lock on the truck and one of the tires was flat. We didnt notice until we got to my apartment. We had to go back. The UHaul team member that unlocked the lock and aired up the tire was very friendly and knowledgeable.

-Very crowded pickup and loading area. No room for cars. I had to back up into the the loading bay from a busy street. This may be done better by managing the flow of traffic better.-Explain the Auto transport process more. Including asking if I need assistance with vehicle loading on the day of pick up- Provide more assistance with the vehicle loading process and do so generously given I had paid for it anyway. Communicate among employees so that I do not gave to re-explain my request to interior and exterior associates.-Be generally more helpful and show willingness to work. The associates kept complaining (out loud in fact) about how they dislike doing Auto transport loading.-Agents can be more courteous. One was especially rude to me.Honestly I will have to be most desperate if I were to return to this location again

Would give 0 stars if possible. Returned truck on time, but then on the final receipt, it was shown that we had returned it 17 minutes after the due time, which meant that U-Haul charged us A WHOLE EXTRA DAY of everything on our bill. When I reached out to customer support, I was met by the most condescending, rude and unprofessional excuse for customer service Ive had the misfortune of dealing with. I thought that the negative reviews were perhaps due to the busy nature of moving and the stresses related to it, but please know that they are really quite true.

The appointment was 8:30 am in the morning on May 29th 2021, but the mechanic hadnt arrived to work on it after 12 pm. Its finished after 3 pm in the afternoon. The waiting time was over 6 hours.

Make sure to ask about and sign up for mobile check-ins when scheduling reservations in-person. I almost lost my reservation because I did not sign up for this and got stuck in traffic while driving to pick up the van. I only barely arrived in time before the location was closed. I wouldve been in a really tough spot with my stuff out on the street overnight on move-in day.Other than this, service at this U-Haul location was friendly and efficient.

Their parking lot is not secure. I found myself in an unsafe situation after dropping off the car. While removing myself from the situation I, apparently, did not put the keys in the correct area. They are charging me $100 for a new key even though it is their fault that their lot is unsafe and unmonitored in an area with one of, if not the highest crime rates in Boston. I will never be returning to this location and highly recommend you don’t either.

The contact-less pickup did NOT work at this location so ended up having to stand in line. The employees were more concerned with chatting and laughing with each other than getting customers processed - loooooong line OUT the door. Then we were told the equipment we paid for online was not available because they just rented out the last ones. We literally reserved and paid online but then waiting in line watching the equipment leave the store. Since I paid online for it I was expecting my $20 back. Bought 2 small boxes and a roll of tape.... somehow was CHARGED $21. Then when we got to truck - noticed the clerk charged us $28 for the insurance we WAIVED. Complete HORRIBLE experience. Go to another location to rent a truck unless you want to waste your morning and be frustrated and over-charged.

Truck rental pick-up was efficient and well run. Truck actually ended up breaking down which would usually lead to a horrible review but the customer service was great. The roadside assistance showed up in reasonable time and getting a refund was quick and hassle free.

I couldnt schedule a reservation other than 7am today.My reservation was cancelled because I couldnt be there in time and I had to reserve the van again. I have to drop off my son at camp and due to covid drop offs are delayed.The attitude because they couldnt pick up when I called to push back my pick up time...I was then charged twice for the rental.Charged for gas when I returned it more than what it had. A bill that should have been $70ish dollars became $180.On top of all that the last at the counter was to busy texting on her phone and joking around on her walkie talkie.One person inside has a mask on.One person outside had a mask on.

I have waited a week to voice a concern since I thought my feelings may change but they have not. When reaching the front of the line to pick up the van I asked the staff member to put a mask on. This person refused. (The employee to his left was wearing a mask.) I asked for his last initial but he assured me hes the only one by that name. He immediately volunteered to get his manager but I didnt take him up on the offer, partially to avoid holding up the line behind me. This is the first time in an indoor setting that I have experienced an employee of a company without a mask, and certainly the first who refused to put one. There is enough uncertainty with cleanliness/safety of a rental vehicle, so this additional blatant disregard was shocking. I have since rented vehicles from both Waltham and Danvers, and everyone at those locations had masks on, even those working outside.

If I could give this place ZERO or negative stars, I really would! Horrible customer service and I got charged for 47 extra miles that I didnt even use!!! They charged me $143 extra for things that has nothing to do with me. I used the 10 truck to move a 3 piece sectional and never even left Boston. I went from this U-Haul location to downtown Boston and back. I didnt know that from Roxbury/Dorchester to downtown Boston is 64 miles! Matter of fact, Boston isnt even 64 miles big!!! I also got charged for an extra day when I only had the truck for about 2-3 hours AT MOST!!!! Im so tired of this place over charging people for things they didnt do or use. Please do NOT go to this location! Go anywhere else but here! Please do yourself that favor so you dont have to deal with the aggravation of the unprofessionalism of this place!

Recently rented a U-Haul van from here to move apartments. I used their online system to make a reservation. It was much easier to drive inside the city and just required an extra trip, which could be a deal breaker, but wasnt in my case.For add-on purchases, I recommend getting a packet or two of blankets for your furniture. They come in handy and prevent scratches or other damage to everything. The insurance is also honesty worth the peace of mind given youre driving and parking on tight streets in Boston.The service overall was great. Theyre not the warmest crew, but the quality of service and help was better than I expected. Even at the end, when I returned the van, the gentleman told me I needed to fold the blankets next time and said he would handle it for me this time.Overall I had a pretty good experience. Definitely will come back here when I need to rent a U-Haul again.

Rented a 15 truck from them about a month ago. Perfectly a fine experience.Over the past month Ive received a number of small dollar charges to this U-Haul Center. Its very clear that an employee stole my credit card information and has been making purchases. Ive had to cancel the card and reset a number of billing accounts.Would not trust your business to this place.

Poor customer care, the from desk guy is very rude and not helpful at all. the truck has a filthy cigarette smell! the cargo area was dirty with streaks of fluid spill, I ordered a dolly rent and I had to come back to ask for it as I didnt find it in the truck at the time of pick up.and finally why do I have to waste my time at the pick up to fill up gas ?? the gas level was less than 25%!!!!!!I think Penske is doing a better Job than yours!

Honesty, this is my favorite location. They treat like they already know you and its very welcoming. This time was the best because I didnt have to wait in line, I was in and out in 5 minutes. This place is so poorly managed. Im standing in line to pick up a can I reserved online. My reservation started at 9:30. Im standing in line at 9:50. If you have the ability to do mobile check in at ANY other location, do so. Not worth it.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this was beyond a horrible experience. We opened the truck to find alcohol bottles, cigarette cartons, NEEDLE cases from drug use, CHICKEN TENDERS, tons of garbage, and dirty clothes. It was incredibly disturbing, and unacceptable. We had to spend a half an hour cleaning out and sanitizing the truck. When renting, we expect an empty and clean truck, we should not have to touch drug paraphernalia, old food and garbage. :(

Used this place out of convenience because it was so close to my moving destination. The truck I got was dirty and there was food left from the pervious renter, popsicle sticks on the window and fast food trash. Not to mention the manager of this location is complete trash. He’s rude and he refused to wear a mask during covid-19. He also permitted other workers to work in close contact to customers without masks.

The equipment I ordered (2 regular dollies and 2 furniture dollies) was not provided to me in my vehicle. Instead only one regular dolly was in the back of the van at pick up. I asked an associate for the rest of my equipment and they apparently ran out of inventory at my location. I was given one appliance dolly instead of my 3 other items.Due to the current pandemic, and among other things, I chose to do a mobile pick up so I didnt have to have contact with anyone. Turns out I still needed to get my keys from inside the office and speak to an associate to get substitute equipment. The associate was also wearing his mask improperly by only having it cover his mouth and not his nose. All in all, I would rate this experience as pretty awful. No one enjoys moving, but the people working at this U-haul location were sassy and not kind even though I tried to be polite considering I wasnt too pleased either.

Having used many U-Haul locations in the area and dealing with the rudeness in the Quincy locations, I decided to try the Dorchester branch. The staff was absolutely amazing. The women Julie and someone who begins with a T were probably the nicest, most helpful customer service reps I have dealt with in a long time. They were efficient and professional. I will only be using this location from this point forward. The staff who checked my truck out were wonderful as well.

I contracted for summer storage and for a moving truck to move my daughter at the end of the summer. I talked to a manager prior to purchasing, whether or not we would get one month of free storage since I was originally told that the storage had to be after the equipment rental. I explained this to the manager who assured me that one month of the storage could be credited at the time that I picked up the truck even if I was renting storage before the equipment. I explained this to the woman at the counter but was told that I was given incorrect information. Ive left messages for the store manager and Ive not received any phone calls in response. Im very disappointed and I feel cheated.Since I was not given an emailed receipt after purchasing online, there was also no record of my small packing and moving purchases so it took even longer to get checked out. I told them what I thought I purchased and fortunately, it matched the invoice total so they let me have my items after quite a long look up since it had been months since I reserved equipment and made purchases. When I purchased the items, there should have been a receipt emailed to me so that I could recall my purchases and so the personnel at the counter could also.Also the line at the counter was ridiculous. They need to have an express check out line for people who use the online check out option and for things like purchasing packing materials, locks, etc. To add insult to injury, my daughter was sold a lock that would not work on the truck (a big round one) and we were not about to wait in line for an hour or more to exchange it for the right size....so we drove to a hardware store to get one.When I first reserved the equipment (early in the year), I also purchased moving services for both a move out and a move in. The movers were fine but my daughter and I ended up moving all but the heaviest items ourselves since the timing was all messed up by the more than hour long wait at the counter.The only nice thing I have to say is that the employees in the storage area were very nice to my daughter when she was putting her items in there at the beginning of the summer.

The staff here are so sweet and so helpful! I came in stressed out about my move, so hot from the 95 degree weather and they made everything really easy and even got me a bottle of water that saved me! I’m really grateful for how patient, quick and positive they were. So when I first attempted reservation I was trying to rent a 26 foot truck. I couldnt find any so I called uhaul. The uhaul representative found a 26 foot truck in Norwood, MA. We made the reservation and prepaid in full. The day of our rental we called uhaul to confirm our reservation and that the location was open. Parts of Norwood, MA had substantial flooding. We were told everything was fine. When we arrived in the location we were informed they did not have any 26 foot trucks available and no one in 200 miles did. He then smirkly asked if anyone called to confirm reservation. No one called to tell us reservation could not be fulfilled or to confirm. The representative found a 20 foot truck in Boston, MA. Norwood, MA was 30 minutes from our location. Boston, MA was another 25 minutes away. We picked up the truck in Boston. When we got back to moving location we realized they had forgotten one of pieces of equipment, a utility dolly.The only saving grace was the moving helpers we had hired. They were able to professionally pack the truck and fit everything. Items were double stacked and went all the way to the truck door crevice.We had an overall terrible experience with Uhaul this trip. We also had requested Web Share. We were told the were able to make our reservation available for pick up in the app. Upon arrival in Norwood and Boston the reservation stated we had to use counter help. A simple courtesy phone call would have saved us a lot of stress and and frustration.The issues we had were with Uhaul Corporate and the Norwood, MA location. The pickup and drop off location were not at fault for our terrible experience. Uhaul added a lot of undue and unnecessary stress to an already emotional situation of cleaning out my grandparents estate and family home.

Not very educated staff. No one wanted to help and also overheard racial comments made towards a middle eastern man that was in line. Everyone in the area knows what to expect with the staff here though nothing will change nor will they ever be properly trained by Uhaul

One of the employees treated me horribly and did not even know u-haul’s prices and discounts. She would yell at me, then when I was answering she would turn around and start talking to someone else, ignoring me. Extremely rude. U-haul has a deal of 214 miles and 24 hours for $85 and she said I was making it up. When I told her to look at the confirmation email I got from u-haul so she could understand the situation better she refused; instead of trying to help and fix the situation she was just standing there saying she didn’t understand my reservation (which was simply getting a truck and dropping it off in the same place). I asked her to look at the email since all the information was there and she treated me like I was stupid saying that the email did not say that (without reading it). So rude, such a waste of time, last time I ever rent from u-haul.

Terrible customer service and communication at the propane fill-up station, I stood in a line with 8 or so other people to fill our propane tanks and when I was next in line the employee handling the customers walked off for his break or something and said someone will be out soon, for the next hour and 15 min. other customers piled in line and also left for waiting so long. Several people asked employees to find someone to assist us in line and nobody ever showed up. Waste of my time and the other 20 or so customers waiting so patiently. Borderline disrespectful.

Great selection of trucks! The service was great and the managers are knowledgeable about the trucking business as well as safety. The staff was very helpful and knew what type of truck should be hitched to a type of trailer. The staff took time to train you on how to unhitch and hitch the trailer towing an SUV and how to use the mirrors and lights. The trip went very smooth. Thank you for your help!

Excellent service! We were moving from Boston to California with my SUV and a UHaul trailer. We found out the day of our move the Ford dealership had neglected to install the brake light wiring. Jorge stayed late to find the part and install it for us before noon! Really friendly and helpful staff. Thank you again!

BE AWARE OF THE RIDICULOUS FEES!! I used less than 2 gallons of gas and figured they would just charge me like $4 a gallon to profit a little. Instead they charged me $30 and a ton of other little fees. They arent up front about it and if you ask, the employees have no idea how to explain it. It is so much cheaper to hire through Bungii, Dolly or even Takl.

Not satisfied at all. It took forever to get my rental. There was no parking and some staff were helpful while others were very rude. I recieved a 60 dollar ticket after being forced to park on the street where I double checked to make sure I was not going to get a ticket and still did. There was food all over the truck and was not clean at all. This experience will make me question as to whether I use Uhaul again. And to top it all off to go 10 miles it cost me close to $50. Do better Uhaul. I know you can.

They are literal thieves. Tried telling me I turned my truck in two days after I did. Charged my card for it then refused to refund it. I filed complaint after complaint and they just kept saying the general manager Luis Cardona would contact me to rectify. When you call the office number its not actually anyone on site that answers, its some sort of answering service that passes on messages. So I never actually talked to a single person on site. I filed two formal complaints with the person from the answering service, to no avail. Two months later after calling over and over again I gave up. Uhaul straight up stole almost $200 from me. Utterly disgusting.

Ive been to this location quite a few times for different reasons. The wait can be a bit long since there isnt much room in the office to help many people at one time, but theyre fair, courteous and answer any questions one may have to clarify the contract that is being signed. This location has a propane refill station as well where they also sell tanks. Parking may be an issue. Because of the location, the spots on the street are usually taken and theres only a very limited amount of spots for customer parking in the parking lot as the rest is reserved for the work trucks and vans.

Rented a cargo truck from this location Sunday... DeSean Clare was the receptionist he was extremely helpful and courteous. I also appreciated his problem solving skills; I paid online for 4 medium boxes but the location was all out. Not to worry he offered me the choice of refund, or large boxes instead.Give this man a raise!

Be prepared to do your own self-check in when returning after hours, with a smart phone, or pay a small service fee. Returning during open hours is fastest, and least effort for tired folk who just spent days moving their stuff.

I called U Haul Storage a week before I was moving and reserved a 3 bedroom unit. Long story short, I hired movers to take all my items to the storage facility and when we got there the unit had been canceled. I had to pay out over $580 to store my stuff with another storage company and an additional mover when it got to the new facility. I call U Storage the day after, and have gotten no response.........They drop the ball and I had to pay for it.#ShameOnUStorage

Not organized and minimal customer parking. Call ahead to make sure your equipment is there even if you have reserved it ahead of time as they will not notify you if its not until you show up. Ill never use u haul again. Budget truck and home Depot tend to be cheaper and more reliable for rentals.

You would think buying boxes and moving supplies would be simple enough. Theres only one checkout line, and the line didnt seem to move for awhile. Theres about four staff, so you would think the line should move along. I didnt hear any employee say next in line or greet any customer, even though I noticed at least one of them (in a light green polo, fourth one from the left) just sitting there talking and laughing with her colleagues. So eventually, when Im finally first in line, (at that point its been over 15 minutes), I went up to one (third one from left) because anyone would be tired of waiting - talked to the older (50s) African American man would wore a different colored polo (darker green - a driver, Im guessing). I asked if I could check out there, he goes nope, its just these two ladies here. So I point out how there are no signs - how would anyone know that? This is a mess.Understand that when someone has been in line with NO movement with NO ONE moving it along or saying anything BUT YOU CLEARLY SEE STAFF SITTING AND LAUGHING, customers will be impatient.So how are WE supposed to know who to check out with? Why dont you guys create some structure so that thered be efficiency? Because frankly you were all just busy chatting with one another.He actually had the ego to call me rude - sir, Id call you out, but you dont even carry a name tag. What kind of customer-facing position doesnt wear a name tag?? Clearly you dont care about your customers.And I was not the only one in line with this opinion - I just voiced it. But this employee continued to call me out for being rude - while another customer had a question for him, he responded by throwing shade my way, pointing out how hes working but theres rude customers like me making work difficult for him (???). So now youre hurt and have to call me out? How professional are you? Youre mad because Im pointing out how you guys arent working?? Rented a storage unit and my husband left for the weekend with the key. I called and explained the situation, asked if it was possible to cut the lock off since the unit is in my name. The woman on the phone said yes, definitely.I arrived and went to the desk and was told that they never cut locks - and that it was illegal for me to get bolt cutters and do it myself. Legally they had to insist on a locksmith. The manager said that his employees would NEVER saw that it was possible to cut the lock off. Uhaul records all calls - I encourage the manager to review that recording.Cost for locksmith $110. Silly, avoidable and expensive.

This location is horrible and the customer service is even worse. I used after hours pick-up and it took 10 minutes to find the truck. It was not where it was supposed to be and I had to walk around this lovely area of Boston in the dark reading every truck number till I found mine. Once I got to my location to do the move I found the box locked and the key that came with the truck did not fit. Luckily I had an alternative way of opening the lock. The truck was a 2007 with over 140,000 miles and highly beat-up. When I returned the truck they tried charging me and extra $8.08 for fuel. I called up and got an extremely rude employee who thought he was god of U-Haul and doing me a favor. Stay away from this place

They had a very small number of one-way rentals. The pricing schedule and pitches pushed you towards higher-priced services. The $20 lead in price quickly became $120. The quality of service was low. We signed up for a 10 a.m. pick up, they expected us there at 7 a.m. We ordered a 10-foot truck which they verbally committed to and then they gave us a 15-foot truck which made the move into Boston much more difficult. There was no apologies for the mistakes. The attitude was take it or leave it.Am definitely looking elsewhere next time I need to rent a truck

Gets the job done. I used this place about 3-4 times. My reservations were always honored. The registration at the place is fairly quick: 5-10 minutes when there are no lines. They also never tried to upsell me on items that they sell in the store (this is something that I liked), but they have enough moving gear in case you need some.

We had booked a cargo van 2 months in advance for 24 hours (guaranteed), only to receive an email on the day of the move out that said that the van would be available the next day for 7 hours. The thing is that they dont do 24 hours but there was no heads up and the online reservation guaranteed 24 hours. Finally, when we went over there to see what happened, the lady on the desk was very indifferent and rude. The only explanation was a plain we dont do 24 hours and she dismissed us. It was a terrible experience and I would recommend renting from outside of Massachusetts if you dont want any surprises. Thats what we ended up doing ourselves.

Beware. Unacceptable customer service and failure to provide pre-booked and pre-paid-for services. Terrible experience. I booked an appointment online for a trailer hitch installation on our car one week in advance. I dropped off car and keys at approximately 7:15 a.m. on August 29th in accordance with schedule. No one called during the day to report on progress of work. I called location after 4 p.m. to confirm work was done. Representative called me back to say the trailer hitch had not been installed. All parts were at the store, but the store was unaware my car was there and work could not be completed that day. So, in the end, I had to pick up my car without any of the work being completed. A total zero. How can store not know my car is there after I signed paperwork, delivered keys and communicated with a representative in the morning? Unfathomable.
