Getting meat from walden is one of the best things we have done so far when it comes to quality, price and service. We started with the basic order and after few months we increased to something unique to what we really need. The eggs are the freaking best but also the beef stock, hearts, livers and tongue if you feel like experimenting with textures and flavors profiles . Or the chicken taste like a chicken should taste like...I cant buy meat at the regular stores now since the color and flavor of walden is just the closest thing I had to when I use to raise my own cows, chicken and pigs. Thank you for creating something very well needed and I will support you business and send more people your way. Cheers. I am hungry now.

Freshest and tastiest meat around. The quality is far superior to any other option and the ability to pre-order custom cuts is awesome. I won’t be going anywhere else.

Best quality and prices in the Boston area. They were super helpful in making sure I got exactly what I needed, and had a pretty great wine and beer pairing section as well. It’s so refreshing to see a whole animal butcher, feels like the meat is respected and extremely high quality. For such a great service, the prices are also similar if not lower than at chain supermarkets. There’s no where else I am going to be buying my meat from now on.

I used to be part of their monthly subscription option, which is how I got introduced to them, and was super excited to hear theyre opening a brick-and-mortar location! They have fabulous cuts, always super-seasonal (which is their whole thing, keeping it local and sustainable). They also have eggs, sausages, condiments and jams, all great, local New England stuff. You always get inspired when you go there, and the people behind the counter are very helpful with suggestions, advice, and recipe ideas.

Visited the store and found the jowl and pig cheek. The guys are very knowledgeable and meat are super fresh. I cant wait to taste. So glad it is in south end!

We are thinking of joining the share program and want to try the meat first, so took the 45 mile trip this morning to South Boston and visited the butcher shop. We bought quite a bit and had the best beef jerky we ever had on our way home. Havent cooked up any of the meat yet, but we are excited! The guys in the shop were very helpful and knowledgeable. I have been a vegetarian since March for the simple reason I dont want to participate in the industrial farming/slaughter of unhealthy animals. I had beef today and am looking forward to trying the chicken.

First, I reserved a specific piece of meat that was then given to someone else. Then reserved a second piece of meat that was not ready by the time initially promised to me. Not sure what the hype is about this place, but go elsewhere! Better meat and service is close by.

I am so happy we finally have a local butcher shop in the south end. They have the best selection and great quality meat! Highly recommended.
