The worst bookstore for any suffolk student. they will rip you off, charge you extra and make it the most money gouging experience ever. very rude staff and will threaten to take you to court for not returning a book during a world crisis. 0/10 do not recommend - former student

Would not recommend. Super high prices and rude staff. Recently, they misplaced one of the books that I ordered and desperately needed for one of my classes. In the actual bookstore, staff was extremely rude. I was asking for a friend if they bought back specific books and they said the needed the book in hand to know. They didn’t bother to check if the book was returnable, and when asked for them to do so they got extremely annoyed. Rude staff, overpriced, and careless. The people running the pick up for textbooks were friendly and understanding, but however the staff in the actual bookstore were indeed the opposite. After I get my book that they lost, I will never buy anything from here again and would advice others to do the same before they have experiences like min and many others among these reviews.

Avoid at all costs. Money hungry conniving thieves who take advantage of their students. All students know to go elsewhere. Fraudulent charges for hundreds of dollars, rude staff, and absurd price mark ups are customary here.

OY. This place always gets me super self-indulgent. The lectures are tops, Ive met some really cool old people in the basement, and its awesome to hang at a locally-owned book store. This place is a cornerstone of Coolidge and a mainstay in my crazy little adventures in that neck of the woods.Several cheers for Suffolk University Bookstore, live long and prosper, stay bantering etc. etc. etc.

Staff is great and helpful but the manager is very rude and gives customers a lot of attitude for no reason. I was embarrassed in front of the store as the manger was highly rude to me when I was just asking questions and was genuinely confused. I try to avoid going to this bookstore as much as possible.

I have never written a review, but this unreasonable attitude towards me just left me angry.Me: Do you still buy back law books?Associate at the desk: YesMe: Could you please check if you buy one of my books?Associate: No. I need the actual book in front of me.Me: It weights a lot, and I do not want to carry it everywhere if you don’t buy this specific edition. I have pictures of its first pages.Associate: I need to see the actual book in front of me so I can check the condition of the book.Me: I understand it, but the condition matters less if you don’t buy that edition.Associate has not moved a single finger: I still need the book.Me: Could you please at least check?Associate: No. I need the book to scan the barcode.Me still being polite: and you can’t check by ISBN number or other information?Associate: No, I need the bar code . This is how the system works.(Note: she did not even try or check or anything. I worked in a book store before and know that any system will allow you to check the book by the author’s name and the name of the book.)Manager next to her: (YELLING AT ME SO EVERYONE AT THE STORE LOOKS AT ME): She told you three times that we need the actual book, so go bring the book!!!Note: It is easy to tell to go bring the book, when you do not have to carry it the whole day around if they refuse to buy it because of its old edition. There was no line behind me, and I was not taking anyone’s time except of these people working at the store refusing to do their job and being very rude to me!

Suffolk University Bookstore brought Derek Smalls to the Coolidge Corner Theater to read from the novel he penned under the pseudonym Harry Shearer. That totally earns Suffolk University Bookstore for stars.THIS REVIEW GOES TO ELEVEN!

This bookstore isn’t only over charging for the books, they also take advantage of their own students. They change the editions they buy back every single semester making it imposible to sell back their very expensive books. They even charged me 300$ for a RENTAL book and when I went there to return it they said they wouldn’t and that it was mine to keep. Long story short, they take advantage of their students. If you like getting ripped off this is th he place to go! (I gave them one star because there is no zero star option available)
