This store is my favorite. The manager Bryan is by far the best employee this company has. He is very friendly and has a great staff working for him. This store is always very clean and tidy. They are always having food sales. When I bought my kayak and trailer here Dan and Bryan even helped me hook up the trailer to my vehicle ever since then every time I come in I have great conversations with them. Over the years me and Bryan have build a great friendship and I always shop here because him and his employees are always so helpful and they go out of their way to make sure you have a good shopping experience!

Great Place to buy A Kayak, Camping Needs, A great selection of Yeti. Its wear I buy my Carhartt Cloths.

Came in to buy a couple of tents and wraps for them. Hanging lights for them, plus accessories with it to do Kraft services for behind the scenes of a movie being filmed in town.The cashier asked to fill out a application for credit and would receive $15 off the purchases today. I took an app it states the same on the paper application. She took my Drivers License for my information then stated that it would be a week before I knew the results of my application.I asked, what do I do. She told me, nothing.I stated to the 2 cashiers after spending over $400 today that the credit app was FRAUD and the Academy Sports and Outdoor needed to throw away these applications.

Staff was very helpful and the store was clean. The merchandise was very organized.

The gentleman at the register was great! Made everything easy and quick! Mr. Rock greeted us at the door with a smile on his face and energy reflecting his enjoyment for working with the company!! Rock also made sure we got what we needed and thanked us on the way out. Id rather go out my way for the Bossier store than the Shreveport store ALL DAY just cause the customer experience!!

Friendly staff, and if they dont have what your looking for outdoor, camping, hunting, or fishing wise they will get it for you. Highly recommended.

Nice, clean store, employees were helpful, everything was well organised so you could find things very easily. The only complaint was it was just a tad to hot in there for me. They also have a very large selection of tennis shoes, work shoes & boots, casual shoes, flats, hiking boots, and slides.

My wife tried to do an online order and there was no way for her to add me as an alternate for pickup. The manager was very rude and did not attempt to suggest any solution. I told him my wife would cancel the order and I would just purchase it in store. Once he agreed to them it took less than 10 minutes. Seems like he could have suggested that right away if he really wanted to demonstrate appropriate customer service.

Great place for rain jackets, grilling, active wear, tennis shoes, all types of equipment and sports gear to keep you in shape and or to get you started on your fitness journey, they also have everything you need to have a great fishing weekend and everything you need for hunting season.

I was looking for uniforms. I happened to fine some returns. Checkout person was delightful.

This location gets two stars because they had what my husband needed. 9mm ammo. However, my husband is upset that he was walked to the register with his ammo…. but another guy was given his and was able to walk away. We probably won’t be back due to my husband feeling racially uncomfortable.

Went to buy some tennis shoes. There were very only a couple of the smaller sizes. A sales person asked if they could check in the back and then stated they dont carry half sizes much. I pointed out all the half sizes in the larger range and she went back to work. She was polite and helpful but inventory was in very short supply

Selection is huge. A bit pricey in my opinion though. But if youre looking for outdoor gear or whatnot this is your place. Dont waste your time going to other stores if your looking for something specific. Academy has it.

I went to Academy to look at boots, and black jeans for my boys. There wasnt a large supply of size 14 boots and only one pair of black jeans size 46×32. I bought the jeans, but no boots. The service was friendly and the store neatly arranged. I was not happy to have to look elsewhere.

We were there to buy a handgun. Everything in order on a Friday.The man at the counter did not care that we were there, or that anyone was there.Yet, it cannot be denied the store is awesome and worth a stop for any sports shopper. Please avoid the late afternoon Friday.He doesnt care about customers.Hopefully you have more luck on the new gun market.

Not a pleasant experience at all. Was treated like I was lying about where I purchased my Bates boots. Nobody else in town carrys Bates.All I wanted was a replacement not a refund. Their manager,if thats what you would call her was awful,not very personable and not very good at her job. Will not be visiting Academy Bossier City again any time soon. April needs some people skills.

I was checking out last tuesday 01/12/21 there was one cash register lady standing at cash register. I asked her if she could check me out she rudely said no go to customer service so i went and stood in line for awhile 2 people were at each register well then the line backed up and then the one guy at register left, so I started to cash register and then another employee stopped me and told me someone was here to return an item that is more important than me checking out ! The employee at the register then asked the guy behind me to cone over there and checked thet completely ignored me and was very rude about it !!!I was there to buy shoes, i was in excruciating pain from plantar facsitis i needed the shoes or would have just left. I was like really i had to stand there tears in my eyes and they ignored everything i said this is not right and very mean and rude . They saw me barely walking by and in pain and then did that to me awful !!!! If i could i would give yall a 0. Academy one store I have always shopped at but now I will go somewhere else hopefully be treated better as a loyal customer. Sooooo Disappointed in yall !!!!

Love the selection on shoes and sunglasses little expensive but theyre not having a sale but you can always count on Academy.

As always, they were well-stocked, but understaffed. There was no one on the floor where we were shopping to ask questions of and there was only one check-out lane open.

I was told they would not sell school clothes anymore couldnt find what l wanted and prices are too high.

They have lots of nice stuff. No ammo though....

I was looking for a rain jacket and athletic apparel and Hunter really helped me out to find everything easily, and he had a really positive attitude!

I asked a saleslady about having any mens Navy jackets. She explained that they didnt have any left. I was trying to find one for my son in which Navy jackets are required for school. She said all the jackets were sold out. I surprisingly asked, All jackets are sold out? She said yes, but you can go back and look for yourself at the other colored jackets that might be left. Im glad I did because if I had listened to her when she said all the Navy jackets were sold out, I would have missed my purchase. Lo and behold, I saw a row of puffy Columbia jackets. I ended up buying a Navy and light blue Magellan thermal heavy jacket! Perfect for the 30 degree weather! She apparently was misinformed about the merchandise and her store would have missed my money! I love the jacket! The store just need more plus sizes like 2x, 3x, and 4x sizes especially in ladies! Everyone is not a size small,medium, a or large!

Needed work boots, bought two pairs and a knee brace then out the door .

This is a pretty decent size Academy. They have pretty much anything youd need as far as sporting goods, hunting, and fishing stuff goes. They also have a pretty good selection of shoes and boots for kids and adults. I got both of my sons (2 & 5) some boots here for a pretty good deal.

I have bought guns, kayaks, clothes, shoes, backpacks, knives, fishing stuff, punching bag, and a lot of other items from here and i have had no issues with any of those items.
