The kitchen smelled amazing! Omggg! I love cooking and we decided to check this place out, but our attention was stolen immediately at the cooking classes in the next room! It smelled awesome and the group taking the class looked like they were having great fun! Definitely trying the experience! On the meantime I leave here the flyer in case someone might be interested!
Great store! Love their new coffee mugs!!
My wife and I have taken several cooking classes over the years. We did this one as a fun date night kinda thing. Although we had a good time. I felt a little crowed an we both felt like the groups were to big. Two groups of four were trying to share a mixer. One Chef 👩🍳 was trying to guide the whole class when on a occasion another chef pop in but wasn’t really helping. When we’re trying to learn how to sear the scallops. The chef wouldn’t let us do it for fear of being burnt and scallops were still really to frozen to properly seat. I know part of job is to have a safe fun class. But if we don’t do it then we cannot learn. Larger classes should have two chefs an please let the people do all “ cooking”. We did pay 💰 for class.
I NEVER leave reviews and I worked in the service industry for many years so I tend to be very understanding of situations that are out of a persons control. I attended their cooking class this past Sunday, May 30th. When you are paying $80/person for a very small meal you would expect the price tag to be more about the experience than the food itself. I have taken many classes at this location in the past and know what to expect, but the previous classes have always been very enjoyable. This time was a COMPLETELY different experience. I am not a sensitive person in the least bit and at first thought it was all in my mind, but the instructor was blatantly picking on me aloud in front of the entire class of strangers. The other couple I invited to join my boyfriend and I even stated, Wow she clearly does not like you for some reason. I found the instructor to be completely disrespectful towards me the entire time and made my experience very uncomfortable. Next time I want to take a cooking class I will be sure to pick another location.
We had taken a cooking class a couple years ago here and loved it but it was when I called back two years later to get the recipe from that class was where the service was amazing. They took the time to go back into their archives to find the specific recipe of the class we took and email it to me. I know it was no easy task for them to locate it but was very appreciative.
Today my boyfriend and I had a private cooking class with Destane for my boyfriends 26th birthday! Not only did she let us do everything on our own but she was so quick to help us when she saw us struggling! Destane was so amazing and so helpful I would recommend her to any of my friends and family who wanted to do the same for any occasion! Will definitely be back soon!
I took the fried Chicken cooking class last night with two of my girlfriends. It was a small class of 4 people. The chef was so friendly and gave us great tips on cooking. Was a fantastic experience. Can’t say enough about the Chef. We loved her. We made coleslaw and biscuits with the friend Chicken and everything was so delicious.
I bought a Jura z8 coffee machine from here and the customer service was amazing. I called ahead and Devyn made sure to hold the product for me until I got there. James was so nice and went over the product with me before he checked me out and helped carry it to my car. Everyone there was super friendly! They have a bunch of cute and interesting kitchen gadgets that I will definitely be back for !
I took a cooking class on Oct 22, 2020 called A Cozy Autumn Meal with MaryAnnG. I cannot say enough great things about the class and Instructor. It was one the very best cooking classes I have taken, including those I have taken in Italy. I would encourage others to sign up for future cooking classes for a wonderful experience.
Treated horribly by employee named James! Truly terrible experience, will definitely be finding another kitchen store
My Fiance Kat and I were on our Bi-Annual cannot say no day where we plan activities which the other cannot refuse. Our final activity for the day was a cooking class at Sur La Table, called The Coast of Italy. We were greeted by Sioux Chef Nancy who instantly made us feel at home. She told us we were lucky enough to be the only two people who booked the class. Chef Mary Anne got us started on dessert where we made a delicious blueberry rustic tart. She was very patient and thorough with helping us navigate the several steps it took to construct the pie crust as well as the filling. She put the same amount of care into helping us with the homemade pasta and vegetables that followed. Everyone in the store, from Phillip and the manager on duty, went above and beyond to make our experience exactly what we needed to end what was a day we will never forget. We will most certainly recommend Sur La Table to all of our friends . Thank you very much to Chef Mary Anne and Nancy!
My wife purchased us a cooking class for my birthday that we were very excited about. We live in Ft. Lauderdale and should take about 20 min to get to the Boca location but we left 35 min before just to be sure to get there in time. While on the way there was a crash on I95 that closed all the northbound lanes of travel which left us stuck on I95 at a standstill for over an hour. Approximately 20 min before the class was about to start we called Sur La Table and informed them of our status and the fact that we would not be able to make the class due to the accident and the fact that I95 was a parking lot. The first employee my wife spoke to immediately stated that they do not offer refunds under any circumstance within 48 hours. My wife did not even ask for or mention a refund at that point so it was off putting. My wife then requested to speak with a manager to discus the issue. The manager who answered rudely stated, as the employee did, that they do not offer refunds. My wife again has yet to even ask for a refund (we really just wanted to reschedule for another class) so this again was off putting. When my wife stated that we just wished to reschedule the manager said that they would not reschedule but they now could offer a 50% refund which is outrageous because we had zero control over the circumstance we were in. When my wife said that 50% was not acceptable the manager said that “that was their policy” and it was “the best she could do” but for some reason gave the National customer service number for Sur La Table. Obviously confused by what was going on we called the customer service number and spoke with a very nice employee. After we told her about our situation she immediately offered a 100% refund and apologized. Unfortunately the very helpful employee who actually knows customer service will not be saving my family or I from ever doing business at any Sur La Tables again in my lifetime. I will also express my opinions to anyone in my social group and colleagues. In a day and age when customer service should be excellent, it does not make sense to try and scam a first time client out of money. I just wish I had more hands to give this more than two thumbs down.
Words cannot express how amazing this class was! Greg Is an awesome chef and great teacher! He knows his stuff! He was absolutely phenomenal! And so was Nancy and the other chefs assistant! Just amazing he taught us tips and tricks! That we can actually use daily! I would recommend Sur La Table hands down without hesitation! Want an experience you will never forget....Sur La Table is a memorable one!
The cooking class quality at Sur La Table in Mizner is always top-notch. My husband and I frequently take classes, and I recently celebrated my birthday here, and we have never been disappointed. Its an interactive experience to share as a couple, with friends, or as a way to meet new people. The class allows participants to BYOB (which is a plus) and is conveniently located across from the Dubliner that offers bottles of wine for purchase. The Chefs are friendly, highly experienced, and give each student an opportunity to participate. A+ Experience, ambiance/location, and service. Oh and you get to take home a print-out of the recipes to re-create your meal at home!!
Myself and 2 friends went to a class yesterday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.. J’elesa our chef was fantastic, she made her way around to everyone, answering questions and helping with our techniques. Would definitely recommend, what a fun and enjoyable evening!
They simply amazing store and experience. James the store manager has been so kind to me as I had some trouble with a very high end coffee maker. James has given me great advice through my purchase and handled the subsequent troubles that with the utmost of professionalism. James is an asset to any organization and Im so happy that store of this caliber has someone like that. Coincidentally I just had my severe -year-old daughters birthday party here last week where they cooked pizzas and all the children absolutely loved it. Great store. Great people.
A bunch of cute kitchen items, some things are overpriced, but you will finds items that make you smile.
Made reservations to be with 6 friends @ 7pm. Was bumped to 4pm without our knowledge. Would not change or refund.(Invoice did not specify time, only the date).Local store person answering the phone was snotty. 800-number youre on hold forever cause your call is important to them ... The local store doesnt book the foodie events. Not a logical policy to talk to a call-center for booking. Theres no coordination.
My husband and I went to the store with the intention of purchasing two mason jars. My husband has his credit card in hand and we went to the cashier to pay. We were the only two customers in the store. There were two cashiers, a young man and a young woman. The woman was on the phone apparently making a reservation for a class. The young man was doing something on the computer. Neither glanced an eye at us. After standing there for several minutes, I asked the young man if he could check us out. He still did not look at us, he continued doing something on the computer. His reply was something like, “I trying to put this in.” We left the two jars on the counter and ledt.
Great Selection, Products, & Services. After leaving youre going to have no choice but to hide your credit cards, debit cards, maybe even your wallet. Im telling you, this place is dangerous.Jokes aside, Sur La Table is great. If youre looking for some new kitchen gadgets or just replacing some basics, they have it.Employees are very helpful, theyll get you in and out.
We took a Christmas cookie baking class today and it was the worst baking class I’ve ever taken and way too expensive. We were there early but the class started at least 15 min late. 4 people were assigned to 1 mixer, which is way too crowded. About half an hour after we got in there the chef said we needed to be out soon for another class and we werent going to have time for all of the cookies we were supposed to make (as advertised). And instead of actually baking cookies, they spent way too long advertising egglands best eggs at us. I don’t want to pay to be advertised to. We got through 1 of the 4 cookies, which weren’t even the baked cookies, just peanut butter balls. They said we should dip them in chocolate but we don’t have enough chocolate today so we’ll just drizzle a little on top. The sugar cookies got baked but we didn’t even get to decorate them - they just told everyone to do it at home. For the linzer cookies, they literally just gave us dough and said to look at the recipe to make them. I don’t even know what a linzer cookie looks like after taking that class. And honestly I don’t even remember what the fourth cookie we were supposed to make was, because we didn’t even have time to talk about it. As far as baking the cookies at home, the point of the class is to learn hands-on, that there would be no cleanup for us and that the kitchen at sur la table actually has the tools we need to make the cookies. I do not. The chef kept saying “sorry we don’t have time to do everything; it’s corporate’s fault because they run the test kitchens with way fewer people.” This was a ridiculous experience and made me angry.
Fun little kitchen store. Wonderful selection of fun and practical items as well as offered cooking classes. They had a few specials going and well as sale items when I shopped there.
HORRIBLE customer service. Ive been trying to get a hold of the sales department to book a corporate team building event now for nearly three weeks. The event was supposed to be for this upcoming Friday and of course we cant get a private event...why? Because they cant return a phone call. When I did speak to someone, they said they would call me back and sure enough, they didnt. Too bad, it looked like they had potential too.
If you want to learn how to cook and be a chef this is the place to go
Love the selection of great kitchen gagets and dinning supplies galore! Great customer service and attention. Offered us cappaciono or expresso. They offer fun informative cooking classes. Plus other events. Staff A+, Environment A+ and what they offer in product selection and events selection A+! Cant wait to go back!
The Complete Culinary ExperienceWhat an awesome way to celebrate a special event or occasion at the Sur La Table Cooking Classes!Side note: I have experienced the cooking classes there before, attended a private business event, and brought my young grandson to a holiday cookie decorating class, so I knew I wanted to plan a private party there. We were 18 celebrators for my birthday, ages 25-67. Chef Michael and his friendly team provided us with the ultimate culinary experience; making it easy and fun for the novice and well versed in the kitchen to enjoy the experience.Chef Michael and Chef Tom were very helpful in planning the menu. When we entered, everything was ready and set for us to begin. By my choice, the appetizers were ready for us upon arrival. We started with preparing a sinfully light and fluffy Raspberry Grand Mariner Soufflé, set that aside and got busy creating our crispy flatbreads. While they were baking, we chopped, diced, and added what we needed for our very a tasty Chicken, Shrimp and Chorizo Paella. While that was simmering we made dressing for our salad. What a delicious meal! Just writing this makes my mouth water. The evening was everything I had envisioned and more. THANK YOU Chef Michael and your efficient and ever smiling team for a fabulous evening!
