This place is great. The receptionist is great, and the mechanics there are trustworthy and great at what they do. Kenny, the guy who owns the shop used to work for the Chrysler Jeep Dealer. Their honest and very friendly, and gives quotes for things you may need fixed in future visits. Also, its clean!
I bought an older vehicle that was in good shape to travel with. (I try to do my own pm work and fix other things as I am able to but sometimes I need a good mechanic. K&M has worked on a couple of vehicles and usually does a good job for me). Shortly after purchasing this older car it developed a failure to engage the starter when the ignition switch was turned to the start position. I had to have it towed and K&M agreed to troubleshoot it. The problem was intermittent and after a week it had worked fine each time they tried it.It was suggested I replace the battery, which I did. I was charged just a half hours labor and was told all battery and starter and ground connections had been inspected and were all ok. When it continued to fail after purchasing the new battery I jacked the car up and got underneath it using jackstands and found the wires to the starter were badly corroded. Since removing and cleaning the connections the issue has been resolved - 2500 miles and running. I took a picture of the corroded starter connections and showed the owner who said if I brought it in they would put it on a lift and spray the now cleaned connections without charge...really?Having spent a couple thousand there over a number of years for repair work (hence the 2 stars) it was disappointing to be misled, intentionally or not. Apparently the 30 or so bucks was more important than admitting a mistake - claiming to have checked the starter connections and saying they were ok while they were not.Overall, the shop has a good reputation for honesty, but it dropped the ball on this one, and given the chance to make it right before this review, would not do so. And thats why it is so difficult to trust repair shops nowadays.
A few years ago we had trouble with our Avalanche. The owner and workers went out of their way to help us. We are from PA and was headed to Gatlinburg, TN. They fixed the problem in a few hours so we could get back on the road and to our vacation. The owner also told us a few places to be sure to hit once we got there. Very professional shop and highly recommended. The owner, Kenny, was a very nice and helpful. Too bad there arent more Kennys out there! Thanks again for all your help. God bless you!!
