I found this site in May 2021 and have found something or things to bid on almost every day. The variety of objects is amazing! As a Collector of 19th century furniture, photographs, books and decorative items, I have bid on and won a number of very special objects. The prices I have bid on things have been very reasonable and, upon arrival, were exactly as described and pictured.The only thing that stops me from bidding on large or heavier objects are the high shipping fees, which have, on occasion, been more than the cost of the object.

I do love allot of the unique items offered on this website and have won several auctions so far. The bulk of my purchases have been jewelry. Have only been disappointed with one purchase of a ring that I think is really not worth what was paid. I also have seen many items come up for auction that I currently owned myself. I love seeing the bids for them and pleasantly surprised on the amount of the winning bid. My major complaint is the shipping! Not only the huge charge for expedited shipping only to finally be received weeks later. The FedEx tracking is incredibly ridiculous and no real indication of when an item will be received. As my purchases have been for items of 100s of dollars, not knowing when it will actually arrive is very stressful, especially with the porch bandits lurking out there. My most recent example is, after days of no updates, I finally see that it will be delivered that same day of the notification and will be received by end of day, well that came and went and no surprise (its happened multiple times), NO delivery. The next morning the status updated back to No pending scheduled delivery date available! its now after 5:00pm of the next day... no delivery and no update either. This is so frustrating especially for the high fees charged for this very slow service. It is also a little disheartening to see ALL the reviews about this issue going months and months back and the responses from EBTH posted, that they are working on improving this issue, but still not seeing any result of that supposed effort.

Although I made this 4 star I wish I could have made it 4.5 stars. Almost every purchase has been exactly as noted in description or better than expected. There are times I have not bid because I felt details could be clearer, but this occurred most often when items are bundled. Only once in about 15 purchases have I been disappointed, but I suspect I didn’t examine the pictures close enough and the contract says “as is”, so it is my problem. I do wish there was a true mechanism to call for more info or a customer service contact mechanism and I have not been able to find one. I recommend you try out this vendor if you are interested in affordable nice quality used items.

There is great variety of items with detailed descriptions assisting buyers with bids. The bidding process is easy to follow with immediate follow up if you are outbid. I love this site! I am very happy with the items I bid and won. They are exactly as described.

A little expensive, items and shipping prices (based on competitive bidding and distance) but some great items! The site has good security and they wrap the items (no matter the size) with bubble wrap, security tape, and fragile markings when needed. I have never had a problem with things arriving damaged. There is great communication regarding the shipment timeline. I highly recommend using this site!

EBTH is the best. Browsing items can be an education and there are always surprising finds. Buying is effortless. The bidding process is easy and your successful bids are handled promptly. Purchases are shipped quickly with the greatest of care. Staff for both buying and selling are experienced and courteous. They make either process easy.

Mostly I find the service at EBTH to be outstanding. As a Canadian, however, it is difficult to check out as you cannot get a shipping quote. Usually I find the support staff to be very quick and accommodating but this particular time, I have sent 6 emails so far and no one has answered. Shipping to Canada needs to be more available online so I can complete the checkout and pay myself without having to involve the support staff every time.

Always fun joining in on their auctions. Sometimes you win, sometimes you dont, but still a good time. I have won some great items. You just have to be aware of the value of the item, then decide how much you are willing to bid. Pick your maximum bid and let them do the bidding for you!

Finding your convenient website was great for me. First the website was easy and accessible. The information you provided on my items was accurate. The photos were clear and obvious, showing any damage or questionable areas. My items arrived carefully packaged and in reasonable time. I will keep checking this site for fun and exciting things.

Good place to buy many things, but wish they had auctions closer to my home. Its the shipping cost that keeps me from buying more. Also would be nice if they would bundle items if theyre small. They say its b/c theyre prepak. Then I see that an item takes special care to pkg so it will take longer to ship? Cant say I would sell with them b/c of their commission prices, but Im sure it can be very convenient for a lot of wealthy people. Will keep an eye on sales.

I think that EBTH is a good venue, i have bought things from them in the past and will continue to do so in the future and recommend them to friends. i make that recommendation with a major caveat, that is their shipping charges are crazy, it seems that only those who live within driving distance should bid for larger items as their shipping costs are totally prohibitive. i have seen paintings with similar sizes going for wildly different shipping charges. their shipping charges totally influence my purchases and should be considered by anyone using their services

So happy I found this site! So far, sellers have given accurate descriptions and answered any Qs promptly. My most recent purchase was an 18 Italian gold necklace sent via FedEx with tracking. It was nicely packaged and arrived as promised. Thats better than most major retailers!

The idea is great, the items are varied and real nice, payments are easy, checkouts are easy. Condition of items indicate the inspectors and evaluators are dead on. Thats the pros.The cons are very high shipping, very slow delivery and some dubious bidding to just bid up people.Shipping charges restrict my willingness to buy bigger items. A desk could be bought for $40, but shipping could be $1000.High shipping on jewelry should indicate next day delivery, however I had 4 jewelry items take two weeks to get to me.

I have enjoyed Everything But the House and have purchased some valuable items that I cherish here. My only complaint is with the $1000s of dollars that I have spent here, EBTH would not take back an item that was misrepresented in my opinion and therefore I paid way too much for it. Consider your regular customers…i bought a VERY FLIMSY gold chain for $600. It may be worth $60 at the most. They could have accepted it back, instead of putting a sour taste in my mouth about what used to be my favorite auction site. Now I have found others with better buys! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise 🤷🏽‍♀️

What could make them 5 stars, a better working relationship with their shipper FedEx, late packages and rude drivers. I got one broken item, and I’ve bought many. I didn’t even contact them as after my first experience with their CS regarding a lost package was a nightmare. The CS was like a robot, just kept repeating the script. Their response time with shipping is excellent as far as getting them out of their warehouse, and I’ve had 99.9% positive experience with products, and I’ve spent over 30k on some relics, beautiful jewelry etc. all was exactly as represented. Do your research before you buy, camera angles often are deceiving so understand exactly what your buying. I don’t think the camera is meant to deceive, it’s just the perception of the lense.

I Love EBTH. I have made several Jewelry purchases. The magnifying viewer is great for that close up. Items have always been as described and shipped quickly. They have a very good selection of unique items in all categories. The only complaint I have is that shipping is a bit high.

I’ve purchased many items through this site. While the items are generally nice (I had one problem before with a description of an outdoor fire pit omitting the fact the knob was missing, that they resolved with a 10% refund), the shipping through FedEx is usually a nightmare. With the shipping being quite high (on top of a rather high tax percentage for every single item, that, together, dilute most “deals”), I would expect that a good FedEx shipping option be used, however it seems that they use an odd method which has, for me, resulted in misdirected and lost packages a number of times. Other than that, the general ease of use of the site and the ability to save and follow items is good.

Many unique items! Easy to bid.Be careful not to get caught up in the bidding. Do your research & dont over pay. Be aware that shipping is much much more expensive than on other sites. Often items are sent in boxes that are way too large for item you purchased.Recent changes to site seems to have deleted Ending soon option. I miss that choice.

The descriptions and photos, are comprehensive and helpful. On two occasions, I won two jewelry items on the same night - but was not given the option of shipping the two items together. Seems like a waste of my money - and EBTHs packing materials.On the television show (hosted by Lara Spencer), last minute bids did not cause the time to be extended by up to 5 minutes. Why the difference in bidding policies??

I have ordered over 15 pieces and the quality is genuine and the pieces are so beautiful.The communication with the business is o.k, sometimes they take long to respond and they dont always have the complete information about the pieces they are selling. I used to buy boatloads of vintage clothing on EBTH but there doesnt seem to be much anymore and whats there is mostly really trashed. Disappointing. Shipping prices remain high. HOWEVER, there are still wonderful jewelry options--just wish there was more detail about size and condition.

Ive bought & sold numerous items through EBTH as I downsized & bought a new home. While my experience is good and one I continue, they are a very specific market. For those looking for things upscale, unique or special, theyre great. Many of their huge following are deep pocket collectors, so prices are often very high. As a seller of things I no longer need, their services are great. I choose items, run them by my account rep, pack & drop them off & they do absolutely everything else. That worked well with their old fee structure. Since they substantially increased their fees on lower priced items recently, Ill see whether it continues to work for me. I do find their website search feature a little unhelpful, but am mostly very satisfied.

I’ve ordered several pieces of jewelry and every piece has been advertised as promised. Description was as stated. EBTH has special pieces that you can’t find anywhere else.Only con is if the package is very small it seems to get lost during delivery, arrives later than expected. So happy with everything I ordered and will order again.

Fabulous online auction house often featuring higher end, desirable items. My taste runs towards the vintage selections that seem featured regularly. Bidders seem willing to pay more than face value for most pieces or lots so its often frustrating and sometimes costly to try and be the highest bidder. They began offering curbside pickup during the Covid-19 pandemic which they handled very efficiently when I retrieved my recent purchases. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

FedEx shipping is the absolute worst! My package always takes more than 2 weeks. FedEx will post a delivery date that is reasonable, then on that date, the package status goes to Pending, and there the status stays for 2 weeks or more. And one day all the sudden, the package will just be delivered without notice. These items are WAY too expensive for me not to receive them in a timely manner. To be delivered while Im not home because I had no notice of a delivery date is unacceptable. EBTH charges WAY too many fees for me to have to put up with this incredibly horrible shipping service!

I found everything to be super transparent until I posted a winning bid. I received the email with the breakdown of fees and what “ u agreed to pay” when bidding was now more. I don’t recall reading about expedited shipping. I don’t need expedited shipping, give me my $4 back LOL. Other than that, I appreciate that the photos posted show you all the details to include the good and the bad (scratches, dents, etc) and that when items arrived they were exactly as described. This website is a great option for high end items that are attainable at a great price!

The process is very user friendly and I greatly appreciate the email/text follow-ups: especially when being outbid for an item. The overall quality of the items listed for auction is very good and the descriptions are usually in depth, sufficient enough to make a serious judgement whether to bid or not. I recently purchased multiple small items and my only complaint is that EBTH does combine shipping. With multiple purchases this can amount to a large sum of $, and I strongly feel that a large % of the excess shipping charged should be re-imbursed to the purchaser.

I love checking in with EBTH, always something new, unique, and fun things to bid on! I am enjoying all of my “won items” as well. However, I am not overjoyed with my shipping experience. Items take longer and longer to arrive and often are listed as out for delivery and arrive days later. This makes it impossible to accurately gauge when a purchase is received, and if going out of town cumbersome when ordering

Good stuff at reasonable price, accurate description, nice photos, I only buy when the price make sense, sometimes bidding can take price to unrealistic level, in that case I usually pass.

I love this site. Often you find things youve never seen before but want to bid on them immediately. They stand behind their shipping. If it comes broken they will fix it. I both sell and buy on this site. Youd be surprised what some of your items are worth. And they pay for shipping on intakes and that saves so much money for the seller. They pay right away for your sales. I would gives this auction house a big thumbs up and recommend to anyone who has items to sell.

I was ripped off by this company, Buyer beware. The necklace I bid on was a choker and the material said sterling sliver only half of the choker was, the chain part. I tried to resolved this problem but could not and when I called they never return my calls..I wasted almost 500 dollars on a choker ( which was stated as a necklace) which was costume jewelry. Also they make the jewelry look bigger then it is so be aware of this.

I love the site, and I am so happy with the app. My only complaint is, like others, the shipping. It’s $11+ through FedEx and takes so long to arrive. My items always get held up in various locations for days. What’s cute is the tracking is always so optimistic and initially says an anticipated delivery date two days out, but then it ends up taking 10 days or so. So, I hate to complain because I really do love EBTH, but please improve the shipping!

I purchased an item and the description noted a size larger than I received. I have left them a message with my issue and have not received a response! This is a terrible customer service experience! I will not be using this site again since they do not feel it is proper to take care of problems !

I really love the merchandise and auctions like these are addicting.I find that some people will pay more for an item than it’s worth. You can look the item up and see no one else is paying that price for the identical merchandise. But that’s the beauty of auctions. You have to know your prices. The vintage items here are to die for and most reasonably priced. Shipping prices though are too high.

Great finds but there shipping is so whack! You pay for 3 day shipping and I have had items arrive 2 weeks later (after shipped) through FED EX. I’m not sure what the deal is but the average ship time is 1 week and half to 2 weeks for it to get to you (i purchase a lot). only one item has ever come in on time. I’m not sure if it is Fed Ex or them but I purchase other items on eBay or other stores using Fed Ex and never an issue…so maybe their contract with Fed Ex sucks or they just charge a lot for shipping but put you on the lower end of Fed Ex packages hence why taking forever. I dont know.

Old things and new, classic and rare, it’s not a bad way to pass the time and it’s fun seeing the objects get bid on. Sometimes it’s even you who wins.

Won a few items and received them pretty quickly. The most recent item was won on 3/2/21 and I haven’t received it and no one has responded to any of my questions on where my items are. Pretty disappointing to spend money on an item I probably won’t be receiving.Update:Just received a call from Marie and it sounds as though the shipment was lost and they will be refunding the money I spent plus a little gift for the inconvenience. I do feel much better now!

Unique items for your home. The Wall Street Journal suggested them for bath rugs. I have beautiful natural fiber rugs that enhance my bathrooms. Then I found the jewelry…

Im new to EBTH and have become addicted! Everything Ive won has turned out better than the photos. The whole process of buying is quick and easy and they package items beautifully.

On My first auction, I bought 7 items, 4 of those items were sent FedEx ground and took 6 weeks to arrive.On my second auction, I bought a Breitling watch for several thousand dollars and it arrived with a stem that had been snapped off internally, and so it slid out when I pulled on it to set the watch. I immediately filed a report including a photo of the watch with the stem out 3/4”, to which they responded with a request for photos of the shipping box. I told them that the box is in good shape- the “watch expert” obviously did not inspect the item before it went up for auction.It has been a week since that email and no response…..- It seemed like a good company when I looked at them online and watched their tv show, but my experiences have been bad.I’ll update this review if I get satisfaction from EBTH.

As a buyer you need to know that they charge you 3% for using a charge card. They add the tax and they add shipping. I bought an item for $3150 but when I got the bill to pay for it it was $3463.76. What I didn’t expect was the $95 for the 3% charge for using the credit card. They deny that it’s for the credit card. They say that is so they can hurry and send it to you. Don’t believe it. They do send it to you in a good order. But 3% is what they’re charged for credit card use also. They told me if I tied my bank account directly to them then there won’t be any charge. And I and I told them, “no you cannot have direct access to my bank account.” You, as a customer, need to think about that when you’re doing that. Purchasing lower cost items, the 3% would be insignificant. But purchasing even $1000 for an item makes you pay $30 to use a credit card.They tell you all of those disclaimers are on their website. And if you dig around deeply and click on things all of a sudden there’s some thing that alludes to the fact that you’re going to pay that 3%.So I guess what I want to say is the item I received was exactly like it was shown online. Possibly even better looking than their pictures. But I do not like businesses that charge you to do business with them. Referring to the 3%. So as the old saying goes “buyer beware”. I’ll just say, buyer beware of the fine print.

I purchased several items and have found EBTH to ship items quickly and safely. Items are as shown and described and I have added several beautiful things to my collection. I most assuredly will be bidding again. This is a great way to find unique and beautiful items. I will also be selling some things at some point when I have time to go to storage.

Mostly positive though often the shipping charges are so out of line that you won’t bid on items. 200$ to ship a dresser, correct. 200$ to ship 3 vases, no way! The Logarithm needs fine tuning.

I bought earrings for my daughter which are lovely. There was a glitch in the payment process and the customer service rep helped me to remedy it and was gracious and patient. Quality and many one of a kind items in a fun auction setting that is very safe.

4 1/2 stars --- I am hooked on ebth.com! i love to look, I probably buy entirely too often. item descriptions are usually very appropriate and accurate, the extra information in the descriptions is always useful!however, the expedited fee for deliveries is silly - nothing arrives expedited! fedex has extremely slow drivers :)update 8/14/21 - sadly, the honeymoon is over. two stars, tops.in the last few weeks, new bulk bidders at ebth.com have taken over, they snatch up all the sought-after popular pieces, outbidding and/or up-bidding to the point that its not fun or exciting, and there are no deals to be had unless you overbid on less desirable brand-name items, or settle for lower quality knock offs. its been easier to find what I like at regular retailers and wait for sales.Im done bidding - and the FedEx issue is consistently bad. 2 weeks minimum to deliver, even with an expedited fee. not sure what a non-expedited delivery would look like.

EBTH has been a wonderful experience bidding on many different types of categories. The descriptions of my purchases were accurate. The photographs were able to show the items that may have been previously used to various degrees. It was hard to be patient waiting for the deliveries.🥺🙁🙃. Everything came securely packaged and the metric system was a little hard to determine actual sizes regarding loose stones. I love the clothing, and I wish I had home renovations because of the selections are amazing. Stupendous estate sale items, for entertaining, literature, art... On average it takes 2 weeks for things to be shipped 2 states away. Also, my last purchase arrived with a missing piece. I have called repeatedly and left messages but havent reached an actual person yet and no call backs. And as another person pointed out, why cant things be shipped together to keep everyones cost down??

The written descriptions of the jewelry I purchased was limited and I should have taken that as a warning. Gem quality was not discussed or the actual size given. I should have just become engaged with one auction as my first experience. I will not do it again.

I really enjoy the process EBTH has with their online auctions. There are times when descriptions could be a bit better, especially with gemstone jewelry. The size of the stone(s) is not always provided. There is always a picture include with a ruler, but attention is not paid to the location of the stone in relation to the measuring scale on the ruler. The bottom point of the stone should line up with the first ruler marker.The shipping costs are also rather outrageous. I am not local to Cincinnati so I have to have items shipped. There are always several items I would continue bidding on if the shipping charges werent so inflated.I will continue to review the auctions each day and bid on items I feel are appropriate to their value and cost of shipping. I have learned quite a bit about art and artists and various antique items.

I had never any issues that could not be resolved by the team. Very rarely was there an issue. Items are described clearly and they are careful in describing the item especially jewelry. Additional info is available from them. I trust them and continue to purchase as something catches my eye to add to my collection. Better than buying at auction and paying over 20% commission.

This is such an easy way to find good and rare items. Shipping cost up front, no surprises later. I do understand they cant possibly combine shipping on everything, although of course that would have been an appreciated feature. Everything I have ordered has been accurate in their description. I avoid things that aren’t described well.

Items are properly and accurately described allowing an informed virtual bidding experience. Also shipping is quick reasonably priced and care packaging.

No rime or reason on how things get shipped out. I have been waiting on a shippment from the beginning of june. Not sure of who is responsible for it but needs to be worked on.

I enjoy EBTH because of the huge variety of used goods sold and how I can find that really great item as a special gift ! They handle shipping very well and I can always expect to get my items in a reasonable amount of time. They get 5 stars !

I got bids on two items and one came fairly soon and the other one took much longer time to get here.

The descriptions provided by EBTH are terrific. Its especially useful to have them tell you, if purchasing jewelry, the condition of the jewelry (e.g. chipped stones, color/clarity of diamonds, etc.). Delivery is quick.

EBETH has the most gorgeous jewelry I’ve seen. Because it’s a bidding site, the final price is determined by the highest bidder at the end of the auction. You would never be able to buy many of these items even at the highest end bid at any jewelry store. I would have given them five stars except for the shipping fees, they’re extremely high. A better option would be to have the winner choose (like Amazon) how they want their item(s) shipped and mail them together instead of being charged shipping for each item that is won. I will continue to use EBETH and recommend it highly.

Love EBTH, I have been buying at the auctions for a few years now and it never dissappoints. Quality items at great prices.

We were told numerous times by the owner that they would be sending someone to our house to pick up items. We had received a visit and discussed what we would like to auction and were told someone would be down in May. We went through the trouble of gathering and packing items, only to never have anyone come to gather the items. Finally, after contacting them today, we were told just to make arrangements with another company. What kind of business handles themselves in this way!?!? Very poor communication from them from the start...and now this. Very disappointing.
