Fantastic little spot in Bloomington. Unique cocktails with lots of unique flavor. Had small bites and highlights were the olives and the fried with the spicy BBQ sauce.

Wow, I was very impressed! The food was absolutely Delicious, service was exceptional and friendly. Who would of thought that bacon wrapped dates would melt in your mouth. Definitely going back. I would not think twice driving from Indy to experience again (even with the crazy construction)!!!

Id like to tell you that its not worth going so that they will have room for us when were back in town in the months to come, but I cant. The four of us enjoyed an absolutely delightful Sunday brunch. The food was outstanding (we had four different items and they were all top notch). The staff was hard working, charming and attentive. My wife has already asked if we can go back on our next trip. Five stars and more to De and her staff!

I have been to Cardinal Distillery twice. Unfortunately the first time they were busy and we were unable to have drinks or food. I did purchase the Strawberry Gimlet mixer set. Cannot say enough about how delicious it was!!!The second time we were able to have drinks and wished we were hungry. The drinks were so surprisingly and incredibly good!!! Absolutely delicious!!What I want to share most is that I have a very sick friend who means the world to me.After a post on Facebook he wanted a water bottle (He’s a huge STL Cardinal fan). I offered any amount of money for the bottle and the manager said take it to him.I am not in Bloomington often enough but I will patronize this place every single time I am there!Thank you for your wonderful and fabulous drinks and your above and beyond kindness!!!!!❤️

I went to this place for my girlfriends birthday dinner and we all absolutely loved it. The staff were all nice and our waitress was very accommodating. If I were you I would try that steak sandwich they have but everything I saw was definitely made with love. Their drinks were out of this world which made it even better with the food. Our group had a blast and our waitress even made us laugh. Shout out to the woman whose name started with “M”! 10/10 would recommend for all groups and gatherings.

It was our first visit. Our server, Susan was amazing. She helped us to choose food and drinks. She was attentive without being overwhelming. The alcohol was delicious. The food totally exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to our next visit.

We ordered takeout and it was definitely one of the better experiences! The food was still fresh and warm by the time we got home. We ordered the chicken and hominy soup which was fire and then an apple and squash soup which was a little meh. The prime rib sandwich, as many have said, is delicious and the bahn mi was delightfully fresh! The meat and cheese board was well worth it and completely demolished. The quantity of food was perfect, overall a great experience!

We left disappointed, a little sad and a little mad. Theyre one of the last places in town to have a mask requirement from door to table. Since were vaccinated, the mask requirement really just feels political at this point and the city doesnt even require it, so we were forced to put it on to walk 20 feet to the table where we took it off. Just felt very silly, really, from a public health stand point. But rules are rules, I guess, so we complied. We had a drink and shared an appetizer. Server was super great and nice. We probably would have tipped over the 20% but for some reason (maybe bc we didnt like wearing the mask?!?) They added in an auto gratuity. We were 2 adults and 2 kids, there was zero reason to do that. It felt very prejudiced and we immediately felt like we should not have dropped the $70 something dollars here, but instead have gone somewhere else. We def wont be back.

Who would have guessed such a simple looking space would produce such amazing food and drink? Everything weve tried has been out of this world. The drinks are delicious, beautiful, and strong. The new food menu is artful and divine. Service is always super friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable considering the very high quality. Dont miss this spot.

This is definitely a nice place to check out and have a few cocktails. We did The Distillery tour and while The Distillery itself is not very large the tour was very informative and enjoyable. The staff seems very knowledgeable on what they make and the ingredients they use. It seems like they have a different type of spirit for every taste. The place is clean and folks are friendly. We did not eat there this time but when we come back down to Bloomington we will certainly make it one of our stops. Enjoyed the desperate housewife. Thats one of the best drinks Ive had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Wow! We just visited Cardinal Spirits for the first time. I’m sad it’s only our first time! We had three different cocktails, 1) 1979 2) Botanica G&T and last but definitely NOT least 3)Dry Spell! They were all amazing, but the Dry Spell was our favorite...it’s a ginger lovers cocktail, absolutely delicious!The chef also stopped by our table to explain the menu and point out his favorites...he mentioned he tries to stop by any newcomers table if he is able. He was very welcoming and helpful! I am vegetarian and he recommended several items including the dessert Dark Matter (chocolate ganache and a praline mousse with chocolate cake pieces garnishing the top; heaven in a bowl!) which I had first because I couldn’t help myself! I followed it up with and the Autumn Risotto Dish which was incredible...perhaps life changing if you love risotto.The ambiance was that of a craft brewery...all in all the whole experience was lovely! We can’t wait to go back!

We love Cardinal spirits. I did like the food better pre-pandemic though. I havent tried anything I like yet.

The cocktails are good but a little pricey. The drink menu rotates seasonally. They also just opened their own kitchen, but it was a little sad to see the partnership with the food truck end. Overall, this is a great place. The Moscow mules are one of my favorites and you can always order standard cocktails off menu. And, if the weather is nice you can bring your dog and sit outside!

As someone who is not a big drinker I was shocked at how much I enjoyed my cocktail with brunch. We were outside on the patio and the staff was very friendly. Lots of options for food and drink.

We were super excited to try it out, since we both turned 21 recently, and definitely wanted to first try it out when we could sample their house spirits.We were sat promptly to our table. Our server was quick to get drink and food orders. The food was super great-some of the best we have had in Bloomington.Review would have been five stars, but something another waitress said put me off. My fiance ordered a well done burger with cheese (important to know). We get our food, and everything looks great. A waitress for another table that was directly next to us started chatting up her customers. One of the customers orders a burger. The waitress asks her how she wants it done, and the customer says medium of course. The waitress then says well of course. I dont know how else you would want it. Another customer ordered a well done burger with cheese. I dont know how they are going to eat that hockey puck.Its bad enough to say that to your table about another customer, but little did she know we were sitting right next to them, and could hear the waitress make that comment. It put me off the rest of the meal. My fiance didnt want me to say anything to the manager, or the waitress, as she does not like confrontation.Might return in the future to try again, and will hopefully be able to update review with a better rating.

Update: Brunch is the bees knees. Spice up your hopscotch coffee with a little song bird liquor. Iced Hopscotch they say; Ice It I say. Also, inside is nice too. Honestly the simple drinks are just as good as the fancier ones. Because they are all made with high quality ingredients. Mozzarella and lamb were perfect. Risotto was a little overpowered but ny hat is off for the effort. Will be coming back so save us a table.

Fell in love with this place! Perfect place for a quiet relaxing afternoon with a friend. Not much of a liquor person, but their cocktails are satisfying to all types of taste buds. Mature relaxed crowd. Their menu offers yummy and unique appetizers and a variety of cocktails. Cant wait to go back to do the VIP tour of the distillery as well as hear the live music they offer from time to time!

I’ve only been here for drinks and a cheese board, but the brunch menu looked so appetizing that I’m sure I’ll be back to try that. I had the Queen Beryl which was incredibly delicious. My table split the cheese board which was also very good. We did have to wait a little for a table, but it was understandable since we were there on a Saturday night. Our waitress was very nice. I’m excited to come back.

Fantastic flavoring of main dish with accompaniments. Very good drinks. Service was fine but would have improved drink sales with more attention. Concrete and wood building seemed loud with a small crowd.

Their spirits are very smooth, craft distillery is a good idea. That said, food was extremely good, poblano potato hash was the winner against their burger and pastries. I wanted to try the pork ribs, but they were not on the brunch menu. Next time. Eager to come in for their Thai dishes.

Cardinal spirits is a wonderful place to stop in for a drink, or grab a bottle for the house. Just tried their honey schnapps, and the flavor of the honey/mead just floats to the top. The drinks are great, but I have had two visits in a row that have resulted in poor, slow service. During the first trip two weeks ago it took roughly 40 minutes to receive our drinks. The second visit resulted in a similar situation. Upon being seated, it took approximately 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Once a waiter came, we received our drinks very quickly. Then our waitress disappeared for an extremely long time (at least 45 minutes...) and we had to stop another worker to place our second drink order. Again, I love the drinks here but the service is putting me off from coming back for a little while.

We went their to celebrate a masters degree from IU. Great food, good spirits on the balcony. The standout was the food and the service. Food was delicious and creative. The staff was excellent. It was a busy night so there were some waits but we were in no rush and with such a nice staff it was not an issue.

Like spirits? Like different? If you do, check this place out! Locally produced, fermented and distilled is this places claim to fame, and they do it well. You have never had a cocktail like these folks make them and like I said, its all local. Thier spirits are available in most liquor stores, but the prices are usually best here, but you cannot get the atmosphere or the signature cocktails anywhere else.

Cardinal is where we take out-of-town visitors to introduce them to Bloomington. Phenomenal spirits. The Songbird Coffee and Flora liqueurs are staples in my house, but we usually have a few other bottles knocking around. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the seasonal cocktails have never disappointed.

Interesting place. I am not a mixed drink guy, but they had some really good drinks on the menu. I was very surprised. The staff was extremely friendly and there is a food truck right on the premises. Definitely worth trying.

We go here for the cocktails, but the food is never bad either! We had a risotto that we wanted to try since it sounded different, and it was delicious!!The refreshing drinks were delicious, but my friend has the amaro. The amaro mixed drink tasted like just hard liquor, so I could not drink it and my friend struggled. Mine was the sunbeam, and it was amazing!

Look, the liquor is excellent, cocktails are amazing, and the location is lovely. The issue every time Ive been is the service. I know these cocktails arent made like a rum and Coke. I know they take time. But 20 minutes, on a day when there are only three other tables with two people each? I never did get my drink; I gave up and went home.The slowness of the service has been a problem each time that Ive been, and friends have remarked the same thing to me.

The alcohol was great. The service excellent. My Saturday brunch was too sweet for my taste. So, 5, 5, 4. Cant give a fraction though.

Some of the best gin Ive ever had. The rest of the spirits hold up quite well, though Im not the biggest fan of the rum. However, where Cardinal stands out is in the mixed drinks it provides. Innovative, and continually coming up with new drinks, they have produced some of the best balanced spiced cocktails Ive ever had. The only thing that is better than the mixed drinks is the attitude of the staff. It is Bloomingtons best placed for mixed drinks.

The bartenders here are extremely charismatic and helpful. They jump on any opportunity to help you choose a drink or sample different liquors. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and the place is clean as a whistle. I highly recommend coming on a weekend morning from 10-2 for the brunch. Its one of the best things about this place. They also utilize a local food truck and the coffee shop down the street for some of their food and drinks. Great local place to come hang with your friends.

We stopped there mid-bike ride for some cocktails, and the server and manager found out we were visiting from out of town. She then brought us free appetizers and samples of their liquor. Not sure Im qualified to review the spirits and cocktails, but they seem awesome.If it served none of these, Id still give it 5 stars, or more. Spectacular food. The worst thing I ate there this trip was (otherwise) the best thing Ill have all month. Try everything, then go back for more.Okay, if one improvement, the waitstaff is a bit too agreeable. Hard to get them to give recommendations, like what drink goes with a meal.

Its clear that these drinks are carefully crafted. They take pride in their liquors and thoughtfully choose mixers for each cocktail. The menu rotates seasonally, so its hard to get bored with this place (but also hard to keep ordering a drink you love).

Have a variety of delicious cocktails and liquors you can buy to take home. The bramble mule is my favorite. A cute little place with a nice outdoor area to go with friends after work.

My wife and I had dinner and drinks at the distillery. We were very happy everything and will return soon. Tera gin was that best gin Ive ever had. Ill buy a case on my next visit.

We love their Brunch. The cocktails are good but not too strong. The food quality is high and quite tasty, but the portions arent all that large.

Food was good, cocktails were excellent. I was a little disappointed in the very limited menu. Only three/four entrees to choose from (if you count vegetarian versus beef burger) and two were beef.

Stopped for brunch before an IU game. There were more drink choices than food choices but we found our choice tasty. I had a coffee drink and followed it with plain coffee and both were excellent. The food prices were a little high particularly for Bloomington or Id give it another star. If you arent drinkers, there are better choices, but if you want some food with excellent drinks and want to support local business, try Cardinal Distillery.

I had a chance to do a tour at Cardinal Spirits over the weekend and I left very impressed. Logan did a great job going over distillation and how they make their liquor. By taking a higher quality cut from the process, the alcohol has a better finish and cleaner experience. This was confirmed when we got to sample just about everything they produce and I was pleasantly surprised just how good it is... the cocktails too. The fact they are moving into single malt territory is awesome and I can hardly wait. The only problem is picking which bottle to drink. I totally recommend a tour here.

The location is almost too convenient for me to stop in for an after-work cocktail! The taco truck is a nice touch as well! Im not a liquor aficionado, but thankfully the first time I came in here, the bartender helped me out and let me sample a couple things before choosing a drink. I also love supporting a local spot!

Theyre not going to make everything you want, but the things they do make, they make great. All liquors are made in house in Bloomington Indiana. The old fashion was done right with a decent whiskey, but not a quality Bourbon...they are still working on that.

What a great find! While walking the B-Line trail in Bloomington, my wife and I needed a restroom and a drink. We found this little neighborhood place and were pleasantly surprised. They have some great mixed drinks and some very cool appetizers. We didnt eat a full meal, we just had the meat plate and it was perfect for a late evening snack with our refreshments. They dont serve beer, only mixed drinks with their own spirits, but they were so good we ended up buying a couple bottles to use at home. Well worth the time!

The host ignored us and struggled to help the people in front of us. He simply sauntered around while we, and two other groups waited for about two minutes.Then, we sat down on the patio and were ignored. After 12 minutes, we left. This is not the first time. 6pm on a Saturday night can be kind of busy, but they were by no means packed.I hate that their service is bad, I think their spirits are quite good.

My wife and I took my IU L2 daughter and her boyfriend her for a Sunday brunch. Wow, just wow. The pablano hash with over easy eggs and a spicy Bloody Mary were both phenomenally good. All the other meals and drinks were equally good. A sample of their coffee spirits resulted in a purchase of one bottle and the reviews of the Terra gin of another. The gin and tonic Im sipping now has a floral, juniper back nose and taste. Two thumbs way up.

Will definitely come back when Im next in Bloomington and stock up.Edit: since there doesnt seem to be a reply option to comments on reviews I will respond to the owner here.I believe I have had three different cocktails at Cardinal Spirits and have never left unsatisfied. My favorite so far is the Terra Old Fashioned. Made with their craft terra gin and liqueur called flora, which is every bit as floral as it sounds, this cocktail is fresh and herbaceous and merits its spot on the permanent menu. Bravo to the team of distillery craftspeople, cocktail makers, and excellent waitstaff all around.

L-O-V-E-D it here! This place was unlike any bar Ive ever been to in Bloomington. The mood here is chill, the drinks are scrumptious, and the staff is very accommodating. I sometimes dream about their spirited ice creams and tacos from the nearby food truck. If I still lived in Bloomington, Id go there every day.

Another server, male, we had 2 days before- Monday, when we chose Cardinals for our Irish Wake - about 4:30 pm- aft we had had to out down our beloved black lab down- and felt Cardnals would be the most comforting bar to go to... to begin healing process.
