This is one of the best speakeasy cafes in Bloomington. Super under rated in my opinion! They have just enough food and drink items in the menu that you could go there everyday if the week and still have options left and their food and drink choices are amazing in themselves. I had the breakfast burrito and it was amazing! Try the greasy goodness of McDonalds breakfast except less grease and better ingredients. I also had the Nutella latte which is a must even if you dont like mocha (I dont). Theyre open 6:30-8pm right now but the lobby adjoined to the cafe stays open much longer (not sure it actually closes). They also have a grab and go food thats way better than anything on campus! I think my total came out to around 9 dollars before the tip for a full burrito (large) and small delicious latte. Service was also amazing and the baristas seem genuinely caring when asking how you like things. Theres also abundant seating here! Overall 10/10
Great place to grab a coffee and study! They keep the music down pretty low so it’s easy to concentrate. Also loved all the cookie jars, mixed match furniture, and wall art!5/5 recommend going there!!
Ignore the 2 random people posting about “slow” service. 5-10 minutes for tea is average when it’s being seeped fresh. 10 minutes for hot food is not slow when it’s being made by hand. If you want a 4 minute burger go to McDonald’s. If you want good coffee and good food, and would like to enjoy if in a fantastic environment come here.Great seating and service, Nya - thanks for great service!I am bothered these other reviewers who are also “local guides” have such illogical stipulations for service time at a coffee shop.I would assume those would be the same people telling the pilot to “fly faster” when they’re on a cross country flight.Ignore the haters and come enjoy and amazing local business!
Service was way too slow. I had to wait 10 or 15 minutes just for a cup of green tea
The Poindexter is a lovely quiet place to grab a bite and study or have a date with a friend. The overall decor is adorable and the vintage cookie jars are so interesting to look at! I had the Butternut Cortado which was delicious. This is definitely being added to the list of date spots for Bloomington!
Love this place. Very quiet today as students are home for the holidays. Got my stand-by comfort lunch, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. As always, fabulous.Stop by when you are on town especially if you love collections. There are walls of great cookie jars, walk around and check them out, bet you will find some you remember from when you were a kid.Great place to just chill for a bit.
If you go to this establishment, call 911 youre having a stroke, and your brain is shutting down
Nice spot, but very slow service. Ordered tea and an egg sandwich for a breakfast on the go. Took 10 min for the cup of tea, and over 20 min for the sandwich. I almost left before food came - I had a flight to catch! Food was good, but be warned.
I had a nice nitro brewed coffee that I sipped on a lovely walk around town. The service was great and the cookie jar collection was intriguing. I will definitely be back!
Great staff. The most amazing eggs were on my delicious bacon egg cheese sandwich I had with a side of 2 beautiful hash browns and lemonade. Ill be back for those eggs.
Excellent coffee, good soup and burger. I like their interior! Really love this place.
It is temporarily closed right now.
Service is SLOW if you order food. It took more than 30 minutes for a just a sandwich, even at lunchtime with few people in the cafe.
Friendly, warm, bright atmosphere
