I decided to go through Wilsons for my first ever commuter/cruiser hybrid bike purchase. (This was also my first time ever spending more money than what would buy an all-too-common piece of Walmart junk. Glad I did!)The folks at Wilsons have been incredibly accommodating every step of the way, and there was a great variety to choose from. I am currently waiting for my bike to get into the shop, since I needed an XL frame ordered. Ill update with more perspective once Ive been able to ride off with my awesome bike.

I relocated from California to Bloomington 2 years ago. When I arrived in town I was interested in upgrading my bike. I shopped all 3 bike shops in the twin cities. In the end I made the decision to purchase my bike from Wilsons. I was looking for an unconventional gearing system that only Wilsons could provide. But aside from ordering exactly the bike configuration I wanted their interest in me as a cyclist and a person was unique compared to other shops who seemed JUST focused on selling. Mike and Cody are personable, low key guys. There is absolutely no pressure. They are informed and generous with their time and vast knowledge. Their service area is top rate and they are always willing to tweak and make the required adjustments to my bike usually while I wait. Additionally they offer a 20% discount on accessories if a customer purchases a bike from their store which is a nice perk. I really like the fact that Mike and his Dad run the show and have for decades. These guys are the best. As a result I have now purchased two bikes from Wilsons. I look forward to having an ongoing relationship with this hometown, family business.

I have purchased two bikes from them, and am thinking about a third! Michael at Wilsons Cycles had always done great by me. When ever I have had questions about a bike, or needed a tune up, he has taken care of me swiftly. The staff is very friendly but not pushy, and knowledgeable. Family owned business, so great to shop and support local business. Members of Bike Blono get a 10% discount here. Also, they do sell fat tire bikes, and as I recently found out, unicycles! So they pretty much have any kind of bike out there, and if they dont, they will get one in for you! See you on the trail!

Brought my jalopy of a bike in after Id dusted it of from years of sitting in the garage, and thought theyd try to hard-sell me on something newer. But they, with a twinkle in their eye, told me not to worry, that there was still plenty of life left in my bike. I had my bike disassemble and packed so it could be shipped. It was well wrapped, everything was done neatly and my bike arrived with no damage. Mike was very accommodating as I had to have it done within a few hours. Great service and quality!

I needed an inter tube for a 20 inch bike. Apparently its not the normal type. They are going to try and order one for me. I was relieved that they ar least spent some time determining that they could order. I had gone to another place and they didnt even try to assist me. My business will go to Wilsons whether they can get the tube or not. Customer service is everything, at least to me.

Terrible customer service! I brought in a small wheel that needed a tube replacement. Michael damaged the wheel during the replacement. Instead of apologizing for damaging my property, he blamed the wheel for being faulty. I sat there for about 45 minutes while he looked on his computer before he took my information down and said he would order a new wheel for me and that he would be able to get it in a couple days. A week later and I havent hear anything so I continue to call and keep being told he was trying to look for the correct wheel. I am finally contacted by Michael only to tell me he has the wrong wheel. By this point, it has been a week and a half and I cannot use or move my cart due to not having a wheel. He stated he would order another wheel and let me know the tracking info as soon as he gets it. Another week goes by and I have to call again and I am told that the wheel came in the previous day. I had not received a call or text stating that. When I go to pick up the wheel I am still charged for labor and the price of the tube that was supposed to be put in over 2 weeks ago. Customer service from Michael was the worst Ive dealt with in a long time and I will NEVER spend another $1 at this establishment.

They had quite a selection of bicycles and accessories. Their bicycles ranged from $275 to $3,000. The staff that worked there was patient with me as I was shown around and they excellently answered all of my questions. I would like to rate as a five star, but the average price of thier stock leaned closer to the expensive side.

My boyfriend and I were in search of some mountain bikes, and had looked around the various shops in the Blo-No area. Wilsons came through, not only finding us the right bikes, but taking the time to answer our long list if questions. They also gave us a deal for buying a pair, and let us make payments. Great father-son team.

I was looking for platform pedals for my sons bike. My son picked out the color he wanted Black Ops color changing pedals, he digs them.Chatted with a couple of older gentlemen who were working there, very knowledgeable.

I came in for service on my bike. I spoke with an associate who quoted me on service, we agreed on what needed to be serviced on the bike and I even purchased a new seat. I was told the service would be done either by end of that day or the following. I called on the third day to check and they told me service had been completed and that they closed at 4:30 pm. I arrived and looked at the bill. This is where my experience went down hill. There were additional charges that werent discussed and a price variance on brake adjustment (which very well could have been a miscommunication). When I brought this up I was told we cant really tell you what services we will need to do untill we do them. Which made me feel like either way my bike would be held hostage untill I ponied up the money. Long story short I am VERY upset about the dissonance on my bill. HOWEVER! When I rode the bike away I could tell the difference in the work done. I think that they are some great craftsmen, but after this experience I unfortunately have to question the transparency and integrity of their billing. I hope that my isolated experience is NOT an overall reflection of this long standing small family owned buisiness.

I havent rode a bicycle in decades. I dont exercise and have wanted a bicycle for years. For my birthday, my boyfriend, Jan Nussbaum, got me a gift certificate to go in and pick me out one. He has been a long time customer. He always purchased bicycles for his children when they were growing up. Needless 2 say, this family owned establishment is in business for a reason as my experience today and exceeded my expectations in the following ways: 1) Greeted at the door immediately with enthusiasm. 2) Listened 2 my needs and patiently allowed me 2 give her my bicycle history . 3) Led me 2 the bicycles that met my needs WITHOUT trying 2 sell me a high dollar model or push me onto something that I may like just 2 make a sale. 4) Answered my questions thoroughly while gaining knowledge about bicycles in general based on my needs.Although Melissa called upon Mike Wilson for some assistance, she was the kindest young lady, not 2 mention, when I went 2 get on a particular bicycle I swayed 2 the otherside, hit the wall and took out the bike next 2 it and she immediately asked if I was OK. As I laughed it off she began laughing with me. I had so much fun with her and Mike! They would like 2 think it was my Cub shirt that made me fall...HA...they threatened 2 put Cardinal stickers on my bike. Whatever...lolTo conclude my experience, the father, Jack Wilson and his wife came in as I was checking out. What a hoot they were. Jack said I was good being a Cub fan, wifey on the other hand, not so much..lol. However, she did tell me to go 2 Gordmans and get me Cub flip flops 2 complete my outfit.Overall, the most enjoyable experience and the CUSTOMER SERVICE was phenomenal!!! I left there feeling like family. I am thinking I may get invited 2 their family reunion next year...lolNow I know why this establishment has been in business for so long.
