My hair stylists name was Bailey she washed my hair in not only a comfortable chair, but she did a great job ; It felt amazing! Next she trimmed my hair and she did such an awesome job, my hair looks and feels beautiful, chic and wonderful when I left I felt rock on! Now I feel like my hair can take anything! I previously came here for a foil, I had a couple fashion colors and wanted to go back to my original color with some highlights. My appointment was at 10:45 and I didn’t get out of there until 4:30. The stylist had the bleach in my hair for too long (as said by another stylist working that day) and fried my hair and it was over all compromised. As a result they did do an SOS and told me that they would comp my whole service for the day, and then have me come in for 3 more deep conditionings for no charge. Today I came in for one of the deep conditionings and was treated like I was the issue. The stylist I got today was more focused on how she looked and fixing her own hair that she didn’t explain what was goin on, like a stylist usually would. After the deep conditioning she proceeded to dry my hair (which I found out later that she shouldn’t even have done) and didn’t even bother to attempt to make it look presentable in public. I walked out looking like this, my hair was matted in the back and still wet. After I took these pictures I went back in and asked for a brush and confronted them about how they serviced me and let me walk out with hair like this that reflects their company. And the store manager, continued to be rude and act like I was in the wrong for even trying to get my hair done and told me not to come back. I asked him for a higher up contact, that I could speak to and he refused to give that to me and stated that they would contact me. Also to add, I have curly hair, she didn’t even attempt to help my hair not look like a frizzed up mess.. I’m really disappointed in how things were handled at all. There is so much more wrong with this salon, please go anywhere else but here.

Nicole F is fantastic! My 8 year old went to get her hair cut to donate. She ended up deciding on 12” total! Nicole was so patient with her not holding her head up. 😂 I also got a micro foil and it is beautiful!

I LOVE MY HAIR! I needed my greys covered and I wanted ombre. I described to Tifanie (the stylist) what I wanted... I could not be happier!My boyfriend came with me to get a cut and color with Cassie (stylist). He is VERY particular, so I was a little nervous for him.. but his hair looks amazing! Wish we discovered this place a lot sooner, it would have saved us tons of $$. They also have a great line of products. Im sure there are other great stylists at this location, but Tifanie and Cassie are VERY talented and sweet - you will be so happy!😍

I just needed a basic trim, nothing fancy. I was able to book online not too far in advance, but unfortunately the person I booked with was sick. They were still able to get me in though. The adaptability was much appreciated, my trim was exactly as I wanted, took like 20 min and it was extremely affordably priced. Thank you Glo!

My mom and I came here and we got so lucky when we just so happened to pick NICOLE! She is by far the best stylist/coloring job I have ever had before! my color turned out so well that I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. 😊 (Keep getting compliments too so I’ve recommended her to them). she was warm and friendly and she actually seemed to care about my hair. She recommended a treatment and it has been absolutely amazing for my hair. My mom said she will come in to see her and I’ll be back for my touch up! Thank you so much Nicole! ❤️

This is why I never get haircuts. Instead of asking me how I part my hair she parted right down the middle. Wasn’t until the end she noticed I have very hard part very hard part. Got home brushed it out parted the way I always have. I was only suppose to have an inch taken off with long layers. Now it looks like I have two different lengths. Won’t be returning

Very happy with the cut and style I got with Ashley. All the stylists present seemed very professional, friendly, and skilled. I will definitely be back! Only negative was that I did wait almost 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment before being seen, but it seemed to be a one off situation and not a regular thing.

I visited the salon for the first time on March 16, 2021! Karrie did a fabulous job! I have long, thick, curly, frizzy, out of control hair! I came in wanting my highlights redone (they were long overdue) and she tackled my hair head on! She did exactly what I asked her to do and even suggested other treatments that would help my hair and scalp! If she is willing to tackle my hair again in 5-6 weeks, I will definitely be back!!!

I had an appointment with Nicole on July 15th. I had long blonde hair and my roots were really grown out. Im always blonde and I wanted highlights again to brighten it up. Nicole talked me through which color blonde to go with and techniques to bring my existing blonde back to good health. I wasnt totally sure what to do with my hair cut either I wanted to chop some off but Nicole offered suggestions and I love it! She made me feel comfortable and confident with my decisions and Im obsessed with it! Im going back for my next cut/color and requesting her for sure!

I am picky and she is a diamond amongst many average stylistsShe could work anywhere but I am thankful she works at an affordable salon. She had never let me down! I loved my styles but got told one price but got charged another

I had my hair cut the other day by the elderly woman. it was a first for both of us. She even got me to buy shampoo and conditioner that I really did not need I was so happy about my cut and how really good it looked. My wife says it is the best haircut Ive gotten ever. I only paid 18.00 but felt it was a 500.00 style. I no good on names but she was very thin and has short hair. Lynn I think . Well thank you so. I will return and book with you again. she was real fast too.The new receptionist not real tactful. She asked me to give a good tip. I was upset that she would mention it. I do too well but only for those deserving...I wish I had had more cash. but I will return and tip her some more. Was that receptionist making issue of my tip. if was not too bad I did make it back and heard her say it toagal so Im off the hook. She does I think it is way rude!

Staff here is very friendly and provides great customer service. Unfortunately, I havent gotten the haircut I desired at my last two visits here, with two different stylists.Ive shown a picture of my hair from before and explained how I want a little bit off the top and have it short on the sides (even giving the guard number). But both times, the stylist has taken WAY too much off the top to where its nearly a buzz cut. At least the hair will grow back.Edit: So ownership did reach out to me by phone (I was expecting an email since I had used online booking for my appointments) and offered to rectify the situation. I do appreciate that from them and will look at giving the place another chance in the future.

It’s clean, it’s safe .. you can make an appointment on line (easy). Friendly, caring atmosphere. Bustle and fun chatter with phone ringing and customers in & out .... all extraordinary ✋🏻🛑Covid safe. The energy is cool 😎 the prices are fair ... all is well for me. Giving it 5 stars because of their continuity and fresh atmosphere... cut color (detailed and fabulous) & highlights are wonderful.

The stylists are professional and understanding I went in to have a previous salons highlights fixed, the color I received was beautiful and the overall atmosphere of the salon is welcoming and comfortable. Plus they support local artist and environmental friendly products.

Unfortunately there has been a gap in the understanding of how phones work. I was asked if I could be put on hold. The lady then did not maybe know how to put the phone on hold and co tonued a conversation with fellow stylists. After nearly 6 minutes, I became curious if she would remember that there was someone on the phone. Someone did pick the phone back up and asked if I needed help. As I started asking to set up an appt, the person on the otherside may have put the phone back down. I elected to hanng up and try calling back. 9 minutes later, I continue to get a busy signal (indicating to me that they still have not hung up the phone).

All my nerves about venturing out into the Covid-19 stratosphere for a haircut were quelled upon entering this location.they asked questions to make sure I was not presenting a risk of carrying, wore gloves and masks the whole time, and spaced out the patrons will over 10 feet apart. There was only one other stylist the entire time I was there so I never felt like I was breathing somebody elses air. Was given a great cut as well by Berenice who was celebrating a year of service!

I have been a life long customer of one of your competitors. For the last decade I have had relatively the same hair style which multiple competitor locations in the tri-state area could provide. Wanting to try something new, I was referred to Fantastic Sams as having quality in mind as well as affordability. Based on my location, I looked at reviews from multiple F.S. in the area and ended up choosing the Bloomington location for their glowing reviews and ownership response to feedback showing they are engaged. Though apparently accuracy is not in their services portfolio. I might be the one-off poor review, it could have been my bad day or the stylist I was given, though it is safe to say there is a stark difference in what I ended up leaving the store with. I presented the stylist a photo of what I wanted, and had more than enough hair to work with to achieve the requested style. I even asked the stylist if she wanted to keep the photo open to revert back to, which she responded confidently she is good to go. Luckily, the cut I received ended up being the decade old style (by chance and not changing the stylists plans since presenting the photo) though I am confident I will not be going back to F.S.

Do you even have your employees trained? I will never get a haircut in you shop ever again! 2nd time not being happy with the results of your services! I could give a five yr old clippers and come out with a better haircut! Fml

Was just here for an eyebrow wax. Tanya waxed a huge hole in my left eyebrow. I get it, stuff happens, but wow. I now have to go out and buy an eyebrow pencil and figure how to draw one on. Ive never been so embarrassed. The only saving grace was that Brandon came over to salvage the other one. Ive come here before and never had an issue, but Ive never met this stylist. I dont think I can ever come back in good conscience if this is the quality of work they provide.UPDATE (10/11/18 @4pm) changing my rating to two stars instead of one for the prompt phone call from management. I let it go to voicemail. Not their fault for what happened, but they offered me a complimentary eye brow wax to keep my business...😒 Really?Ive learned my lesson. You get what you pay for. Im not going to come back here, especially for another eye brow wax. I appreciate the follow up, but thats a no for me.

I will never go back. I have been growing out my hair for months from an asymmetrical pixie and had been going through various lengths of an asymmetrical a line bob. The shorter side was finally long enough that I could even out both sides. I made it clear I wanted no length taken off the shorter side and the stylist even repeated that I wanted that side to stay its length and just even the longer side with it. I also said multiple times i wanted lots of texture as my hair is very thick and straight so otherwise it lays very flat and be very heavy at the bottom .When she was done the longer side was over an inch shorter from than the side that had originally been shorter. I could see even with my glasses off (Im extremely nearsighted), so honestly its a little concerning I had to point it out. Even after telling her the sides were uneven and she cut the length off the side I had explicitly told her I wanted as the length for both sides, it was still longer. To top it off she put no layers in my hair so the shape of my hair was awful. Either this stylist is incapable of listening or shouldnt be doing hair and if shes a representative if this salon I wont be spending my money there. I told her before she started I was getting it cleaned up as Im graduating from college and wanted to look nice and she totally butchered my hair. So glad this awful style will be commemorated in photos for one of the biggest moments in my life. Thanks for nothing.

I got my haircut from this location a few days ago and I’m still extremely happy. My hair stylist was Brandon and he’s simply the best. I unfortunately had to change my hairstylists a few times since I moved to Bloomington because they werent that good, but it seems like I’ve found my favorite hairstylist. Brandon took time to listen to my concern about my hair and he recommended what would be best for my hair. I left the salon with a new hairstyle and so far I have received many compliments from my coworkers, I just cant be happier.

Second terrible cut at this location. Staff was angry we came, terrible experience. Be forewarned.

I shouldve read all their reviews. Same complaints.So disappointed with the staffs and my cut. I was quoted the wait time would be about an hour so I come back at the time they said it would be about (2:30 PM). Nearly 2 hours later I get helped and was then rushed as I got my haircut. I was asked 3-4 times how I wanted it cut. Already annoyed because I waited so long..did not get an apology or anything. It would be nice to let your customers know if it will be passed quoted time and that you know were there. My cut is also uneven.. I will never come back or recommend this place.

I legitimately just asked her what her name is and I already forgot it like a fool haha she has awesomely dyed pink and blue hair (right now anyway). By far the best hair cutting experience Ive had. She paid excellent attention to detail, was fully cooperative, had great conversation, and a great smile! Hope to get her next time I come back.P.s. sorry again for forgetting your name Im horrible when it comes to them, Ive always been more of a face person.

So many times over the years they have said 30 minute wait when I visit, and it ends up well over an hour to get service. Today was the last time, and I had to walk out after waiting/wasting 70 minutes of my day off hanging around the haircut place. I have never seen any business care so little about wasting their customers time with false promises. I tip $5 every time, but in retrospect my hair has generally looked worse over the years versus other places I went to at my past addresses. If you are a guy just looking for a simple decent haircut, seriously, any other place does it better and faster.

I would give a 0 star review if I could. I have been a fantastic sams customer for probably 8 years now, going in twice a month to keep my hair very professional looking for work. I will not be going back to fantastic sams after my recent experience. I have been told by several stylists at fantastic sams: “that’ll be an easy cut to do, no problem.”, and it has always looked great when they got done. The stylist today did not listen one bit, and was going so incredibly fast with the buzzer, she clipped part of my beard off as well. She buzzed off half my head before I could tell her to stop, and then proceeded to say: “sorry, I thought u told me something different”. I didn’t catch the ladies name, but she was probably 45 years old, short hair, and sounded like she smoked a pack a day. Very very disappointed fantastic sams. U just lost a customer for good.

I’ve always had a great experience and haircut from Brandon! He takes his time, is very thorough, gets to know you, and treats you like a friend. Won’t go to anyone else to cut or color my hair, check him out :)

I was told that I would have to wait 20 to 30 minutes when making the walk-in appointment. After 45 minutes of waiting, I was told that I might be able to get be the hair cut within 15 minutes, if the next person doesnt show up. Whats the point of making an appointment? I visited Fantastic Sams for hair styling the day of my daughters wedding. My hair withstood the heat and humidity and looked amazing all day and night! Received tons of compliments!

(Quick Update about this review 12/20/20, since then NO manager or anyone has reached out to me for a refund or anything!)I came here about two weeks ago to get a caramel color balayage, I showed the Spanish lady (forgot her name) a picture I really wanted she told me she could do it. Four hours in the process and it was Nothing like the picture, it wasnt even a balayage, she just gave me highlights everywhere left some highlights in definitely past 45mins! And she brushed my curly hair quite agressively, the color was more of red and mixture of unprocessed color! . I could say I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for professional color I left with very damaged hair and a hair color I never wanted. I paid too much for such disappoinment!

DO NOT GO HERE! I went in with pictures of a lovely Julianne Moore Red color, and no kidding came out looking like Ronald McDonald! CLEARLY no one knows color at this salon as even the owner consulted with the stylist. To add insult to injury, I was charged extra for long hair even though my hair is shoulder length!Even after a second visit and color they STILL didnt get it right. No offer of a refund... just an offer to color it a THIRD time. NO THANKS!

Received haircut in May, but had to go back next day since it was uneven. Received $ 2 off on next service per receipt with no other restrictions noted, but when I came on senior day in July they wouldnt honor on senior price. I consider this false advertising! They even had a no restricted coupon on sign in rewards plan which they wouldnt let me use on senior day price either. Again false advertising. Im checking with Attorney General on this practice.

I went there for about a year, and I never had the same gal twice they would always say “she no longer works here”, then I received the worst haircut that I have ever gotten, it was on a Saturday and the stylist mentioned that they would be closed on Sunday because they did not have enough staff. I went back on Monday and had it re-cut. I will never go back there again.
