Tuffy Tire really came through for us in a pinch. My daughter was visiting a friend at Illinois State (3hrs from home) and her check engine light started flashing. We had her car towed to Tuffy on Saturday morning thinking we would then have to pick her up on Sunday and drive her back to her college. However, Tuffy was able to get her car in on Saturday, fix the issue, and have her back on the road by Saturday afternoon. We were in a real bad spot where a shop could have said it was anything and jacked up the price and there’s no way I would have known any better. Instead, we received outstanding service with integrity from Tuffy. I am happy to recommend them to anyone. Thanks again Drew and team.

In the process of rotating my tires at a local farm supply store, the technician stated a mounting plate was loose on rear suspension, thus they could not complete the rotation. I declined their offer to fix the problem, and took my vehicle to Tuffys. Although their schedule was full, they managed to look at my vehicle the next day, and did a complete inspection. They found no issues with the rear suspension, and rotated my tires for me at no charge. I very much appreciate their honesty, and that they were able to check my vehicle despite the full work schedule. I have been a customer with them for many years, and recommend them to my friends when they need vehicle maintenance or repair.

Tuffy employees were professional and quick to assist me with my car issue. They were able to diagnose and fix my car same day, when other mechanics said it could be weeks. They kept me informed along the way, and explained the process well. They also offered a warranty with the part they replaced. We will be repeat customers.

I cannot rave enough on the service I received from Tuffy Tire and Auto Service. I went to a dealer to get my oil changed and they flagged needs immediate attention on my driver belt, brakes, and brake fluid and going to charge me over $750. So my husband called over to Tuffy and they could get me in that day to look it over and see what needed to be done. I was greeted right away and treated so nicely. I waited only a little bit before an employee got me and personally took me to look at my car. The two employees Drew and Brian explained everything to me and told me I didnt need to fix them yet. They said I easily had 5,000-6,000 miles left! I was so thankful that they took the time to explain everything to me and tell me to make my moneys worth and come back later. They definitely earned my business from here on out!

I have been coming to Tuffy for several years. Brandon, Russ, and their technicians are great! They are very professional, friendly, and customer oriented. They do quality work! Tuffy Tire and Automotive Service, Bloomington, ILBrandon Newbanks, OwnerDear Mr Newbanks.I visited your place of business for an oil change on August 12, 2021.  My initial conversation was with Tana who was quite cordial and professional in her dealings with me.  Russ was present at the time.That evening, I noticed fresh oil stains on my garage floor. It’s been dripping since August 12th within hours of my oil change…and yet your general Manager offered the following explanations:Could be leaking from another spot and somehow making its way to the bottom of the drain plug. I noted the sheer impossibility of oil flowing upwards. Impossible…oil does not “jump” from one location to the drain plug and start dripping from there.Could be “blowing” back from “somewhere else” and creating stains. Impossible…there is no wind in my garage. I then proceeded to show video of the active drip while parked in my garage and then the explanation changed to…We didn’t provide the drain plug used in the oil change. It must have been the company that provided oil change in February of 2020 based upon your Carfax research. As you saw from the photos/video…the drain plug assembly is as shiny as new penny…no visible deterioration, or dust…anywhere. See photo…I’ve also got video shared with you.I’m quite certain your technician over-torqued the drain plug…stripped the plug threads…causing seepage…and yet you asked me to pay for a “dye” test to determine the source of the leak…which you can clearly see dripping from the drain plug.I don’t take to writing poor reviews…or quite frankly…never written a review…but after the continuous lob of wild theories provided by your operation, I can’t help but believe…i’m not your only customer suffering similar fate. As such, I will work diligently on behalf of my issue and others who feel helpless and hopeless against big corporations/franchisees in which we entrust hard earned dollars and to be caretakers of our property.In fairness, your folks are nice people (Russ and Tanna). In practice, you have an obvious culture that permits this type of ‘inaction’ and deflection at the customers expense. You should know…it’s bad for business and bad for consumers willing to pay what we owe for services rendered. I’m disappointed that you have explored every wild theory imaginable when the answer is so obviously in front of our faces…and recorded on video.Should you respond to this post, I fully expect you to offer alternative theories and deflections; however, nothing changes the fact that my oil was not dripping onto my garage floor until Ihe very hour after you rendered service and continues as of the date of this post. That you would deflect and pivot from such an obvious fact…is disappointing and should be disturbing to anyone who has the same experience.I remain committed to reconciling this matter. Thank you.

I recently brought my car in for routine tires and brakes. It turned out that my car needed more work than I thought and the bill was going to be substantially more than I had budgeted. Went in for a diagnostics. With a 4 day reservation waited an hour past my time to finally be told that it had to be rescheduled because only one guy could do it and he was helping on something else. Kinda high price rates. Hartnell automotive is half staffed and more on point with times.

Ive been coming here for over a year or so! I cant even begin to say what repairs these guys have done on my car. This is the only place I trust with my vehicle and any future vehicles that i will bring here. Whether its me needing a check up on the vehicle or whether its a lengthy fix, theyre always there! Perfect service that is hard to find with other car shops around. They tell you the price up front and let you know how important a fix might be or whether it is okay to hold off on something rather than just take your money. I’m going to describe 2 experiences I’ve had here so far: the first is why I came back a second time and the second is why I will never go anywhere else.The first time I came for service was about a year ago when I noticed I was smelling gas nearly constantly while driving. I went to another shop who told me they could fix the issue for about $800 so my father recommended I get a second opinion before jumping in. A friend of mine suggested Tuffy and upon inspection (which they did for free!) one of the gentlemen showed me what they found and explained to me that if anyone actually began to work on that area, because of the extensive rusting I would actually wind up easily paying over $2000. He said that he recommended I not allow anyone to fix it because there would be no avoiding the climbing cost. He recommended I buy a new car entirely and that his team would not do it. I was shocked at his honesty and care! They could have easily taken advantage of the situation but not only did they not take advantage, they also empowered me so that no one else could take advantage of me.A year later I still have the same car (still saving for a new one), but when my car suddenly died on me I knew immediately I would take it to Tuffy. And again, they came through. Initially I was told they would fit it in where able as they were down a couple techs, but early the very next morning, I got a call with an update that they had looked at it, what needed to be done, and that it could be done by the end of the day! I called back multiple times with questions and asks and each time the receptionist and techs were professional, patient, caring, and detailed in their explanations. I was able to pick the car up the very next day after having it towed there without an appointment, and even though I was going to be arriving close to closing they said they would wait for me, and they did. The tech even took the time to show me what was wrong, just like my first time there. And another gentleman literally ran to open the door for me when I arrived with my son and his car seat in tow!I paused my Netflix show to write this, lol because I didn’t want to miss a thing. This is an incredible team with an unprecedented level of professionalism and integrity. As a single mother I worry sometimes about “getting got” but I know I don’t ever have to worry here… EVER! They have my complete and total trust. For as long as I live in Blono this will be where my car goes. Thank you so much for all that you do!

The mechanic talks very patiently answers all your equirie and explain it to you and then mention the amount before, get it signed by you. Then they start doing work. So u will know how much it costs before and what they are doing. Nice service.

Really, the best place in town! Russ, Charlie, & the rest of the team have always provided friendly and honest service anytime I’ve needed work done on my car. I’ve gone to Tuffy here in Bloomington multiple times over the years and have never had a negative experience. Pricing is very competitive, they give clear feedback & recommendations regarding service/repairs that need to be done, and get my car back to me quickly (even when they are clearly very busy). It can be hard to find a repair shop to trust but this one is definitely it, I would recommend them to anyone! 5 stars all around.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I live over 2 hours away and was visiting Bloomington briefly when I ran over a screw. I desperately needed to get my tire repaired before going back home and I, by the grace of God, was right down the road from Taffy. I pulled in just before them closing and Russ and Scott were kind enough to stay late and repair it for me. Their selflessness is greatly appreciated. Ive been to many auto shops and Tuffy Tire & Auto Service has so far been the best of them all! I am always welcomed with a smile, reasonable prices and there is a nice waiting area. If by some reason you need to get home, they can either drive you or rent a car to you temporarily. They only ask that you fill up the tank to where it was when you received it. Russ, as well as all of the staff are very inviting and helpful.

We needed an oil change and headlight bulb replaced. We recently moved across town and needed somewhere new since the place that was doing our oil changes doesnt really do things like that. (You have to take apart the front end to replace it). We had a great experience and feel it was a great value; especially since we got a bonus repair. Come to find out the oil change place we had gone to made a simple mistake while checking the power steering fluid (this is my guess at least) and when they checked somehow fixed whatever it was. We now have power steering after going without for two years....We got new tires and an alignment today and will be scheduling soon for brake pads. My 2007 drives almost like new ;)

Im a software consultant. I go to very big companies and help them build good web sites and web apps. The difference between a developer and a consultant is whether they take your money and do what you asked, or give you advice and ask if you want it.Tuffy has very good, professional mechanics who are consultants. Theyre not just gonna take your money.I had a truck with an aftermarket muffler that could wake the dead in Wisconsin. Fearing frozen, plague infested cheese curds, I went to Tuffy. They reviewed my situation, gave me an estimate, we talked about it, and then they did it.They were communicative the whole time. They told me when theyd order parts, then the parts were late, even reviewed the work.I asked them if they would be willing to do some other, cosmetic work for me, and they suggested that they werent the best ones to do it, and gave me a good referral to someone who could.Thats how I know I can trust Tuffy. They want to be good consultants.

I needed a new thermostat installed and the dealership wanted to charge me WAY more than Tuffy did, along with making me wait longer for the service. Everyone at Tuffy was so friendly and accommodating!! They even loaned me a car for the day since my husband wouldnt be able to pick me up and drop me off. My car has been running great since. Will definitely be coming back!! :)

Honestly if I could give more stars, I would. I was in a bind this week, and Tuffy saved the day. They worked me in despite being overbooked, gave me a FREE rental car to use while they worked, and still had my car done in only about 4 hours. Their price was also very reasonable. More than that, though, their service is personal. I was an anxious mess when I went in (car trouble was the straw that broke me) and Russ was incredible—he was patient and friendly, and he made me feel calm and reassured. They also give you a digital report of your car for full transparency, so if (like me) you don’t know anything about cars, you can still trust that they are being honest about what you need. I’m sad that I’ve lived in Bloomington for four years and I only just found them. 10/10 would recommend.

These guys take good care of my car.

I moved here a few months ago and had no idea where to take my car for oil changes and repairs. I received Tuffy coupons in the mail so I decided to try them out. My first time was for an oil change. It was reasonably priced and the mechanic was very friendly. Then just a few days ago I took my Kia into Tuffy for an A/C problem. I feared it may be an expensive repair but it was only a plugged drain tube. Russ the general manager showed me a picture of the problem area on his PC (part of the Digital Inspection System they use) and also showed there was no other damage done by the water draining improperly. Then he said since it only took a few minutes to repair there was no charge!! That has never happened to me before. Russ and I ended up talking for a while and I left feeling like I just made a new friend.

My Buick needed a major repair which required removing the engine. Tuffy gave me a fair bid and did a great job on the repair. The staff was super friendly and did exactly what they said they would do. They even gave me a courtesy ride. On inspection they sent a picture report to my phone showing issues and recommendations, and then they talked through it all with me -- that was a really cool service. I would highly recommend Tuffy in Bloomington IL.

He was talking with me personally about everything and letting me know all that I needed to know about what was being done with my car. We were traveling from Michigans Upper Peninsula to NE Arkansas when our truck overheated in the middle of the night Friday. I stopped at Tuffy Saturday mourning needing a new radiator. They worked me into their schedule, did the work more quickly than expected and got us back on the road. I would like to recommend Tuffy Auto Center of Bloomington for your auto repairs. I stopped to get an estimate for a brake job and I was pleasantly surprised with the estimate. It was much less expensive than a couple others that I had done. They were able to get my car in that day and even gave me a car to use while my car was being serviced. I asked the office manager about coupons that were available for additional savings and she told me that there were some on their web site that I could print for additional savings. I had a very good experience and will definitely return for my car repair needs.

Great attitude. My car completely silent now. Gave me a free loaner car while my car was in the shop. The 0 percent finance option is for real and up to 6 months. Honestly probably my best experience with a mechanic shop. Also the work done has a 2 year, 24,000 more warranty. And on their website are easily printable coupons. Oh and my muffler inspection was free.

We have only ever had the best experience at Tuffy. Their service is fantastic--everyone is always friendly, knowledgeable, and treats us with such respect. Any work that we have had done on our vehicles has been great! Their waiting room is very welcoming and pleasant, and we love that they send coupons and have great deals. The flower waiting in our car after service is the icing on the cake. We have used other auto service centers in town before finding Tuffy, but now that we are customers there, we will never use another in town again!

I could hear that my muffler had a hole in it. I googled muffler repair and many repair shops came up. The only one that had consistently happy reviews was Tuffy. In addition, I saw that the owner responded personally to many of the google reviews just to say thanks. I was impressed and scheduled an appointment. The manager took me out to review the estimate with me under my car so I could see what needed to be done. They also noticed a maintenance issue that needed to be fixed, but there was no pressure on me to fix it. I said yes. Im glad I did because not only is the rumble gone from the muffler, but the other rattle I was hearing while driving was also gone. I didnt think of Tuffy as more than a muffler/tire shop, but now I will. The staff was friendly and they were proud of their excellent customer service reputation. Ill go there first from now on.

The experience we had at Tuffy of Bloomington, IL was amazing. As soon as I walked in I saw all of their certificates on the wall and that made my decision to use them to fix my car easy. The other thing they did was when they called me they explained to me what was going on in terms that I could understand and didnt need to look them up. If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. I feel completely taken advantage of. I’m a college student, who is also a young female and they tried to act on it. I waited over two hours to even get my car looked over. Then I was told that my car needed over $1,300 in repairs because of the lower arm control, and the wheel bearing. Even Midas (a pretty expensive place) told me that $720 was the total for all the work needed. That seemed insane to me, and the owner probably knew that it was bs.. which is why he kept trying to pressure me to call my insurance company then and there and let them keep my car and work on it. Anyways..I got it examined at multiple other car places in town, and was told by ALL of those places that my car didn’t need a wheel bearing at all.. its in perfect condition, my lower arm control was just bent. If this is how you guys treat your customers, especially women, then you should be out of business. I was told that you guys were good people.. don’t waste your money here. They’re scammers.

This was my first time visiting this service center. In a 24-hour period, I called about possible brake issues, was booked an appointment for a free brake inspection the next morning, easily dropped my car off to a very nice woman at their front desk, got a call within a few hours about my brake issues, was provided 2 options for fixes (both of which were very reasonably priced), and a few hours later got a call that my car was done! When I picked up my car, I had a super helpful conversation with Mike about which services they provided and my routine maintenance schedule for my specific vehicle (he actually printed a schedule for me and highlighted which services I needed to get done). And my brakes no longer squeak! Overall great experience! Will definitely be going back there when I need more work and for my maintenance services.

I am very pleased with the Bloomington Tuffy Shop. The first time I visited to get some repairs done, I was greeted and checked in, and shortly a mechanic took me out to the shop. He showed me on my car and explained what was wrong and what needed to be done. I appreciated all of this so that I could understand what exactly needed to be done to my vehicle and why. They got my car repairs completed as quickly as possible and they were also very helpful discussing payment options with me. I was pleased with my first visit to this establishment.The next time I visited for work, again someone took the time to explain in detail what was going on with my car and what needed to be done. Later on, when it turned out that a part needed to be shipped in to complete my repairs (so the car wouldnt be done until the next day), before I could even ask about options, for my inconvenience the guy offered me a loaner vehicle to use until the next day. They had my car finished bright and early the next morning, and my car has been great ever since I picked it up.I really appreciated the great, professional, friendly service I got from the staff at Tuffy :)

We were traveling and our air conditioning went out. Great service. Good price, got us on our way with air. Yeah!

My wife and I have been servicing our three vehicles with Tuffy Auto (Walled Lake, MI) for the past 5 years and were extremely pleased. It was only expected that we would do the same when we moved here to Bloomington. We have had both of our vehicles serviced since our move in July and we are just as pleased. The one thing I like, in addition to the great customer service, is that they perform a detailed look over the vehicle as a courtesy. I recently brought in a vehicle for a wiring issue knowing full well of a couple other issues with the car and their team noticed it as well and brought it to my attention with no pressure to have it service. Ill only take our vehicles to Tuffy!

Professional and Courteous and YES! Worth the Price!!! Best Warranty in town. Plus the Customer Service was very friendly and accommodating. They explained everything. And showed me what I needed to get done. And the difference between Safety and Non Safety items. Also the Financing Options. Were Very Helpfull. So, Thank You RUSS WOLF and Everyone at TUFFY AUTO SERVICE!! Ill Definitely be back.

I LOVE this service center. You walk in to a clean, pleasant waiting room that is very inviting. The personnel greet you warmly, The rest room is beautifully decorated and CLEAN! But most importantly, the employees are knowledgeable and very professional. They take a lot of time to explain what needs (or doesnt need) to be done. I trust their judgement implicitly. And the final kicker is the flower on the dashboard when they bring you your car. As a single woman who has been responsible for car maintenance 50+ years I cant begin to tell you how happy I am to have found Tuffy!!!

Never had any problems with them. They are fantastic and my car always runs great after being serviced here. They always have coupons out and will explain everything in detail to you. They will physically show you what’s wrong with your car as well. The team is amazing and I love going there! I have been a customer since 2011.

My band was on tour this last week and a half, and unfortunately we had to drive through a pretty intense snowstorm, resulting in us sliding into a guardrail. We popped into these guys on that Saturday (1/12) just to make sure we didnt suffer anything more than body damage. Certainly glad we did. Not only did they make time for us when they didnt necessarily have it, but they did a once over and blew out all of the packed in snow in the wheel wells- all at no charge whatsoever. Super standup guys, highly recommend.

Always get great service here and staff is super friendly. I have been back many times for oil changes and service. Definitely my go to place. Very trustworthy in my book.

Overall great service! Staff was very helpful in explaining what needed fixing and the payment plan options. We got a loaner car for the night and my car was fixed the next day. Everything was super easy which was great since this was not a planned visit. Definitely will return for future fixes. :)

Honest place to take your car to. I had nothing but a great experience with those guys. After being taken advantage of at different car place, I took my car to Tuffy and they were amazing, figured out what was REALLY wrong with it and got it fixed in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

Friendliest staff Ive ever dealt with, and owning an older car, Ive dealt with plenty of auto service centers. Definitely will go here again during my time in Blono, highly recommend

Best service I have ever received from an auto repair shop. I am a student in the area and had an issue with my car that, if home, I would have handled by myself. I am always hesitant to give my lexus to anyone else, but a misfiring issue while Im 150 miles from home was out of my hands. I came into Tuffys and explained my situation. The techs looked through every aspect of my car and told me they could not find any issue with my ignition. They ran every test they could, and explained the situation to me. After spending approximately 45 minutes on my car, they told me there were no issues they could find and that my car was in proper running condition. They did not even charge me for their thorough and exceptional service because they said they could not find a reason to. These mechanics are honest and extremely friendly. Absolutely my go to place for my car while in Bloomington/Normal. I wouldnt trust anyone else.

I had a very good experience with Tuffy in Bloomington. One of the technicians walked me through everything that needed to be fixed and showed me each part on my car. The price was very reasonable. They got my car in the shop and completed all repairs the next day after I came in for an inspection and also provided me with a free loaner vehicle for the day. The car runs well. Honest, reliable and good people at this auto shop. I highly recommend it!!

We are fortunate enough to have Tuffy be close to our home. Brandon, Russ and Katie always know me by name when I call or come in. They take great care of our vehicles, and give sound advice on how to keep them running. I have no intention of taking our vehicle anywhere else for service. Thanks for everything!
