A really excellent experience. My sons catalytic converter was stolen while in Bloomington visiting a friend. We found Meineke through Google and called based on other positive reviews. We were not disappointed! EJ, the Manager, did a stellar job interfacing with State Farm for us. He provided a clear estimate that we were able to easily access by text and once authorized, ordered parts and performed the repair faster than anticipated. State Farm communicated directly with the shop and the payments were all handled for us effortlessly.100% would recommend this shop.

Great customer service and fast turn around time. Plus, because I had recently been in for a related problem, they didn’t charge me for the diagnostics and labor on my second visit. I only had to pay for the part, which was great.

Junior scheduled my oil change so I could be in and out quickly. I dropped off my car, headed out to grab some lunch with a friend, and shortly after I returned my car was ready. They noticed my air filter was ready for replacement and asked before changing it. They also did a full car inspection to make sure everything else was in good working order. Im very pleased with the service and professionalism at Meineke and would recommend them to anyone.

I dont usually make an effort to repair shops, but I gotta say, from the moment I made the phone call to the moment I picked up the car when it was ready, JUNIOR at Mieneke was friendly, professional, and efficient. They didn’t gouge me or try to up sell, they worked me in without an appointment, finished 2 hours earlier than they said they could, and the bill was less than I expected. So yeah, five stars and Ill be going back!

Service was fine, only complaint was the scheduling system. Made an appointment online, but when I got there was told that that time was only the “drop off” time. Since I came by myself and was planning on just waiting, ended up having to wait almost an hour until they could even look at my car, and then another 20-30 minutes for the repair. I’ll probably use them again, just something to be aware of.

They always are good and honest with me with any car I take in. Had them check for oil leak. They did not keep my car all day got to it within a couple hours after drop off.

I needed Meineke to replace my battery with a new one and replace the terminals on the battery as well. They told me it would be $391, with over $200 of that being labor cost. I refused that price and asked for my car back so that I could explore other options. It was only then that lowered the price to $265, which is what the cost should have been around in the first place. I paid the second price, and they fixed my car in about 10 minutes. I feel like this company tried to scam me in a way because the first price did not add up to time time it took to fix my car and the pieces I needed. I’m very disappointed that this happened, however they did end up fixing my car perfectly at a decent price. I just wish they didn’t add extra stress with the first price they came up with.

I took my car in for a second opinion after the dealership looked at it, and not only did it save me (literally) thousands of dollars, but I really appreciated the summary of the repair order they texted me, complete with photos of the concerned areas. So far, theyve been great and easy to work with. Ill definitely be returning!

Great service and staff. I’ve gone to them for oil changes and services for a couple of years now. They have gone above and beyond for me. I had a not-so-fun sound coming from my front suspension some time ago. They turned it inside out, rode with me to replicate the sound, and worked hard to fix it without charging me (we are talking several weeks). I’ve never had to have any high-level repairs since going to them, so I can’t speak to that. But, I certainly recommend them for servicing.

As a college student with minimal car knowledge and having used the services of multiple car services in Bloomington, Meineke has been the most trustworthy. They provide great and punctual service and are very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend bringing your car for any variety of issues!

Signed up for complete service including tire rotation. At pickup I asked the service manager to sign off in my maintenance book for tasks performed. He indicated he had never done that before. He then signed off and only checked that an oil change had been performed at which time I asked why he didnt check off that the fluids had been checked and that the tires had been rotated. He responded that they did not actually rotate the tires and if they did anything with the fluids it was only a minor top off ( which means they should have checked off the box).So, it was only through this process that I found out that they did not actually rotate the tires that I was paying for. I asked why and he said that they felt the tread was too worn.I checked the tread according to the old method of using Washingtons head on a quarter and they all passed. Anyway, the point is that I was not advised the tires were not rotated but was still being charged for the full service. I feel like I was being deceived. I told him he should not charge me for the full service if they didnt do it. (No tire rotation and refusal to sign off/note fluid top off on my maintenance record).I showed him an oil change coupon and got him to change the pricing to align with the work performed.This car has been maintained at thus store for the last 6 years. This was the first time I had such an issue, but it will not be forgotten.

We chose them to replace our battery mostly because they quoted the lowest price. I was impressed with their level of service. Very professional staff, they listened attentively, were upfront about costs, timing, and other expectations. Also, were pleasantly surprised that they have a system to send a detailed report -with photos- by email to describe any additional work they suggest. We loved that. Overall, a very positive experience.

We were traveling by Bloomington, IN in our 1996 Roadtrek Class-B RV when we had trouble with the right-front wheel. For what seemed forever we tried to find someone to help. We limped into Meineke on South Walnut in Bloomington, IN. They worked us in and found that bolts had not been torqued properly on a brake repair and our spindle was damaged. They started making calls without success. A spindle was finally located in Wisconsin ten days after we first took it in, and two weeks to the day they had it fixed and ready to roll. Throughout the entire ordeal they were friendly and helpful, calling us or taking our calls. They were determined to succeed, and they did. We felt that their charges were quite reasonable in light of the time they spent making calls, following leads, exchanging pictures, etc. Kudos and our appreciation go out to Chris, Junior and the entire crew at Meineke #639 in Bloomington, Indiana.

Ive always been dubious about places like Meineke, Midas, etc. As a whole, these places have a poor reputation...just check the web. Whats important to remember though is that most of these shops are franchises, with local owners and managers making their own choices about how to run their shops. With that in mind I tried this Meineke, on South Walnut in Bloomington Indiana, for my most recent oil change, and was pleasantly surprised.They used a quality brand of synthetic oil (Chevron Havoline), unlike some other local quickie change places. I was able to make and get confirmation of my appointment online, far better than Firestone and Midas so-called online appointments, which are nothing more than a time to bring your car in for them to assess it and offer you an actual appointment...or you can leave it. Manager EJ was friendly and professional, compared to the barely-verbal personnel at other auto shops Ive visited in Bloomington.I received a detailed report, complete with photos, of some issues with my car that needed to be addressed. There was no pressure to have this work performed at the shop, though that was an option. The work was completed on time, while I waited.Everything about my oil change at Meineke 639 went as it should which really shouldnt be a big deal, but is because so many of these places offer substandard service. Im glad to report that my experience with this particular Meineke shop was just about perfect, and that Ill be back.

Well I had to get home to Chicago that night, and These guys got it repaired for cheap in 1 hour!! Can’t say enough good stuff about them. Professional, friendly, personable and extremely generous. Have had two bad experiences here now. The first was to check a check engine light for which they replaced a corroded engine mount. When I popped the hood later to check on something, I found they had left a loose wrench just kinda rattling around in there, luckily it didnt fall into something while driving.The most recent experience I had an emergency electrical issue with the driver window motor and when I received my fixed car, the power steering wasnt working anymore and the steering wheel really needed some work to make a simple turn. When I went in to complain that something was off, they sent out a unmasked employee to check my fluids, drive it around the block, and then bring it back with a shrug and I guess it could just be coldWould not recommend

I would never recommend this scam shop. I had gone to them for a vehicle check for a used car I had purchased, and they gave me a list of things they said was wrong with it. Including an 800$ strut job that they told me was DANGEROUS to drive on. I knew something was fishy and took it to THREE different shops for their opinions. I was confirmed in my suspicions when I was told by ALL THREE that my struts were in good condition, and only a couple MINOR things from the meineke list needed fixed.Long story short, they LIE AND SCAM people to get more jobs. Do not trust this meineke or ANY of their shops, they are proven liars and by extention, bad people.

My car overheated on a Saturday afternoon coming into Bloomington Indiana. I called Meineke and they said they could get me in first thing Monday morning. Being very familiar with our mobile repairs I shared with them that the car is overheating and that there’s water coming out of a couple radiator hoses. They did their assessment and told me that the radiator hoses were cracked need to be replaced. I told him that I also wanted the thermostat replaced at the same time. The Office person convey that message to the tech into the manager. Upon picking up my car they said they took it for a test drive and it did not overheat and that it was ready to go. They did not change out the thermostat like I had requested. They said there’s no need for it since the car did not overheat. By the way I live in Florida which is 12 to 13 hours away from Bloomigton Indiana. I went to get gas in the car after picking it up and before I got to the gas station about 3 miles away, the car was overheating again. I let it cool down and drove back to the Meineke service repair Center. They said that they would not be able to get to it that night because the car was still too hot. It is now 930 the next morning I have still not heard from them.

Had Midas quote me an absurd amount for a third coil replacement, after paying for a diagnostic. Took it to Meineke and they ran a free code check notifying it was the fourth coil, which was a much cheaper option. Was done super quick the next day after I had dropped my car off close to closing time.

I had a strange sound from underneath my car. They found it was a piece of plastic stuck underneath and fixed it for free!

The work was good and for a decent price.When I called to make an appointment, I was told I could drop it off early Saturday morning. I asked how long the work usually takes, and they said ideally 2 hours. In my mind, that meant because I was making an appointment, I could count on getting my car back within 3-3.5 hours. Well, no. I called 3 hours after dropping the car off and was told that it would be done by 6:00pm. I had appointments to get to, so I was pretty frustrated. Miscommunication for sure, but still frustrating.

Good service but they are definitely milking customers. There are better options out there. If you do use their service you wont be disappointed but definitely need to know about cars and have critical thinking to evaluate what they are saying.

Had my vehicle at the dealership for a recall. When finished they told me that my back brakes were critical and the front rotors were grooved. I left and brought my car straight here and agreed to hundreds of dollars worth of work to replace everything. While waiting they came out to tell me I dont need brakes that everything is fine and even showed me. Thank God for honest technicians.

The owners are very involved in the community which says a lot about a shop. Our first trip there was for two vehicles to have their oil changed. Front counter girl was so kind. After changing my coolant at their place, my car got overheated the same day it was “fixed” !! Then when I gave the car back I was told they don’t know what’s wrong and everything was perfectly fine so I took the car back and it over heated again !! Then when I gave the care back they said they need more money to see what’s wrong with it. Afterwards I was told I needed to fix the car for 2000$ so I took the car from them and fixed at world wide for half the price ! I was told a manager was gonna call me but ofc no one did ! I truly believe the ruined the car in the first place so I can spend more money there. Very sketchy place and unprofessional. Never ever again !!!

When we need our cars serviced, I always know that we are going to be treated like family here. We have been taking our cars to both Bloomington locations for 15 years. Now that our daughters are grown and on their own, it gives me peace of mind to know they will be in good hands when they need car service. The owners, the Dorsey’s, are very generous in the community and in taking care of veterans.

I came into this Meineke location recently to get my brake pads replaced. I knew this was the only service I needed (and NOTHING ELSE) because I had been to my dealership the day before and was told I needed to have this done. I opted out because I thought the quote they gave me was exorbitantly inflated, and I could find somewhere else to perform the same service for a more reasonable price. I dropped my car off at this Meineke and was hours later quoted at an estimate that was shockingly even more expensive than the dealership told me. In addition, I was told that I needed all of this other work done (in complicated, confusing jargon) that my dealership MADE NO MENTION OF. If something truly needed fixed, at the very least my dealership would have told me because its just another reason to increase my bill. I also utilized this Meinekes shuttle service and when I requested a pick up so that I could take my vehicle elsewhere (after declining their services) I was told that it would be at least another hour before someone could come get me. At this point, they had had three hours to do an inspection. I found a ride anyway and lo and behold, there were three employees behind the counter available to drive a vehicle. I was patronized and Im sure profiled and discriminated against because I am a young woman and I dont know much about vehicles. I was absolutely taken advantage of and I would steer clear from this place. I will additionally actively discourage anyone I know and remotely care about to get work done here. Avoid at all costs.

Im the typical woman who doesnt really know about cars and they have never up charged me or tried to pull anything like that. They are so nice and will to explain things to you. I just had one of the guys show me where my steering fluid is so I can put it in myself next time. Very nice and very understanding. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

I had a 10-12 hour drive back home and they were quite accommodating from start to finish. No unnecessary repairs, no underhanded attempts to take more of my money. Honest and straight forward as well as reasonable prices. Will come back here.

I don’t know how well they provide other kinds of service here. However, I did a paid presale inspection here at about 80$ and it was useless. I don’t know how carefully the mechanic Ian had checked the car but the person who called me back was only saying everything is good. I asked him if everything functions well and he said everything is good. I knew the side view cameras failed because the dealer told me. However, the representative at Meineke told me they checked all the buttons and they functioned well.Now that I have also found out that the front passenger seat heating does not function the button doesn’t even light up.“We checked all the buttons and they are all good”I guess they checked if the buttons are pressable.Very disappointed. Totally useless presale inspection. I feel like throwing my 80 bucks in the river.

We have nothing but awesome service and high class quality work from these guys. Tom, Sam, Ernest, everyone there is just plain great. They are very honest about repairs needed and charge what is needed where. For the people who find the parts expensive they need to understand that you also have to pay for the labor to get those parts installed ($75/hr).We wont go anywhere else unless we have to. These guys are just awesome!!

I went into Meineke south for an oil change and tire rotation.Pros: The service was friendly and fast (about 40 minutes).Cons: They came out about halfway through to show me a printed up estimate for license plate lights which were out. For just 2 tiny bulbs, it would cost an extra $28 (I later found multiple prices for the bulbs for an average of $5). I told them to just stick with the oil change and tire rotation, which they did without trying to sell me more on the bulbs.Over 3 hours after I left, they called me to say I needed to come back in because the mechanic who worked on my car didnt double check the drain plug. I was the next town over visiting with family, so I had my dad check it out. He found that they had barely put the drain plug back on so it had been leaking oil since I left. Also, when I asked the Meineke employee if I could bring my car in the next day he said it would be fine until then. My dad expressed that no, it was not good to drive with a lose drain plug.I will not being doing repeat business with Meineke.

Meineke of Bloomington is the very best! There is no other place I would take my care for service. The owners, Joy and Brian Dorsey have the highest of integrity and that is hard to come by in their industry. Their community service and dedication to the Bloomington community is extraordinary. Their service is unmatched!

Although the staff here is really friendly and the repairs are well-done, this shop has consistently quoted outrageously high prices and suggested unnecessary repairs. Ive returned only because the honest shops close on the weekends. A shop two blocks away just charged me $350 for a repair that would have been between 1-2K here. There are other examples. I had my fuel filter replaced somewhere else, then took the same car here two weeks later for a flat tire, and they suggested a replacement fuel filter at an additional charge (it seems like they might try to get everyone with an old car to do this repair every time they bring the car in for anything, regardless of the filters actual condition). Im sure a chain like this one has certain rules and rates that this individual shop cant really control, but why should the customer get ripped off as a result? Their point system and free towing service is basically the only incentive to go here, and this convenience is actually just a trap to take advantage of customers emergencies, and get people to return who never otherwise would. Skip this place! There are good honest options nearby!

Took my car in for work on my brakes and returned the next day to pick up my car. The price and service were quite good and my car has been running smoothly since the work was completed. I would definitely return here to have work done again.

Tried to scam me on wheel alignment and made an unauthorized tire rotation that almost ruined my car.They refused to redo the service or refund my money. Called corporate with invoices from other companies...they finally gave in.

I took my wifes car in because the ac wasnt working, when I dropped it off I specifically said weve had some electrical issues with the car in the past. I get a call later in the day saying its just low on freon and required an evacuation and fill. I said ok lets do it. 15 minutes till closing I had to call them back to see if my car was done because we needed it back that day. They said when they hooked it up to the machine it wasnt low at all, it was actually a little over full. When I got there I was expecting to pay some sort of diagnostic fee but nope they went ahead and did the evacuation and full knowing full well that wasnt going to fix the problem. 135 bucks later Ive got fresh freon and still no ac. They said they would be happy to set up another appointment to do more diagnostics on it for an additional 105 dollars. Thats why I brought it to them that day was to get the problem fixed, not do unnecessary repairs. I feel they dont care about fixing problems, they just care about doing as much service as possible whether it fixes the problem or not. I hope they enjoy the money they got from me, because I will never spend another dime with them.

They are too exspensive i went in for a oil change and they wanted to me i needed things fixed that wasnt needed to be fixed and they got my car locked in theft mode and tried to say it was my fault i will never go there again the service is terrible

BEWARE!!! This place is a scam, they mark up parts outrageously! They tricked my wife into buying their super expensive air filter with a 500% markup! Then if you come in for an oil change they try to convince you that it will be two weeks before they can get to it. I will never go there again and will post this on Facebook, Instagram and let anyone I speak to know how shady this place is.

Ive been bringing my car here for oil changes since I moved to Bloomington 5 years ago. They are friendly, they have a shuttle service if you have things to do while they work on your car. They inform you of everything they notice while working on your car but they are not pushy and do not try to force you to get things done. Instead they inform you of problems that will need to be addressed and allow the customer to decide when they can take care of the issue. They also have coffee available while you wait.

The customer service wows me every time I go. I’m sometimes nervous about car places because of upcharges.. but the Meineke staff tell me if anything is wrong with my car but are also HONEST about cost to fix it and how urgent it is. They even work hard to find the best value for my dollar for parts. Being new to Bloomington, this helps SO MUCH. Highly recommend Meineke.

My abs and engine lights were on. So I took it to get it diagnosed. Meineke was going to charge me two separate diagnostic fees to tell me what was wrong with my vehicle. One for the abs light and one for the engine light. The guy behind the counter liken them to a dr. Office, you pay your regular Dr to tell you whats wrong then he sends you to a specialist and you pay him also. So tell me Meineke what is it you specialize in? Brakes? Please let me know so if Im having engine trouble Ill take my vehicle to an AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP who will charge one fee to tell me whats wrong with my ENTIRE vehicle. People they advertise one stop shop! Take it somewhere else to get it diagnosed. So you dont have to get charged 2 and 3x before any work is done. Meineke is like the Dr office they only specialize in certain areas!

I’ve been going to the Southside Meineke for 6 years now, and they’ve always done well for me and even charged me nothing to pull some rocks out of my brakes.
