Our transmission went out on our truck in Bloomington. After reading about many mechanics in the area we called Kennedy Transmission. I am glad we did! Although no one ever wants to pay for a transmission re-build, Kennedy is your place if it happens to you! Chris was professional, kind, honest, and quick! They offer a 3 year, 50,000 mile warranty on the transmission rebuild for an added piece of mind. I am sure we will be back even though we dont live in Bloomington - happy to give my business to these guys.

From the initial phone call, to the quote to the pick up this shop is top notch. I brought in a older truck with a bad transmission. The first phone call Chris explained what could be wrong and a rough quote, he professionally explained it’s impossible to diagnose a issue with out the truck in shop. I got it to them same day and by the end of business that day I had a full diagnosis and agree they could do the work. The next morning I had a full quote down to the penny. The work was done the next day. The entire process was done with exceptional professionalism and speed. They listened to my needs a built me a transmission to suit. The knowledge in this shop is very impressive. Each one of the staff I’m came into contact with was polite and professional. The shop was clean and Covid safe. The staff all wore masks and stayed appropriate distance at all times. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Great shop to go to if you need transmission work done. If you have the work done under an extended warranty and the company offers a used replacement or partial payment towards getting it rebuilt by Kennedy get it rebuilt so you have peace of mind that its going to be like new and a warranty to back it up.

A mixed review, Im afraid. I brought in an older car for routine service and was told that I needed a rebuild due to the internal deterioration of my transmission components over time. I approved the service and received the car back about a week later. When the weather became colder, the transmission failed to downshift. I brought the car back and experienced a series of delays on my repair. I cant prove it, but strongly suspect that my car was pushed behind paying jobs that were generating revenue for Kennedy. I understand the difficulty of troubleshooting the problem when the car has to be cold soaked, but it took a month to get my car back. I consider this an excessive amount of time to perform a warranty repair. Additionally, I asked the shop to be careful of my new floor mats, and to please use liners to prevent dirtying them up during the repair. When I got the car back, the drivers mat was very dirty and had a sizeable oil spot on it (see photos). I chose to clean it up myself, as at that point I just wanted to be done with the whole affair. Overall, I was unsatisfied with Kennedy because the original repair failed, the warranty repair took a month to do because other work was put ahead of it, and the shop was careless in protecting my floor mat from dirt and grease. On the basis of this, I cannot recommend them.

This shop has done a number of repairs for a relative and even given them discounts on repair jobs! Other shops would have charged much more and delivered far less.I also work on vehicles and appreciate quality service and work. A chain shop in the same city did horrible work; and broke off bolts on the engine which they tried to hide...and refused to fix.I read some of the reviews on google and they appear to be from picky twits that wouldnt realize a good repair shop if it ran them over...So here is a 5-Star review for a repair shop that seems to deserve it.Keep up the good work.

I badly needed an oil change and my regular places charges $45! I had received a coupon for Kennedy for $17.95 and decided to try them. Not only did they do a great job quickly, but they were very friendly, courteous and professional! They told me my car was in great condition and didnt need anything else! How refreshing that the didnt try to sell me what I did not need! Very honest; and theyve been in business over 50 years!

I was quoted $500 for a front oxygen sensor. I believe this would be the oem part plus labor, but I bought a $27 Denso Oxygen Sensor on Amazon, and a $7 tool, and I was able to replace it myself. Open the hood, and it was there on the exhaust manifold. Pretty much plug and play.

I am extremely thankful to the team at Kennedy Transmission in Bloomington for their honest, extremely affordable and fast service. My parents were visiting from Michigan and their motor home broke down. Eric and Bob worked for hours trying to locate the problem. They gave the motor home a thorough diagnostic inspection and fixed the issue. At any other repair shop the bill would have been several thousand dollars. Kennedy Transmission was fair and honest. Very helpful. The Tranny is Gone! This was my first though when I heard the big clunk on my way to work. I was having trust concerns with my current repair shop so I decided to come here. Looking online I was to expect $2000-$5000 to fix/replace the tranny. So when I got a call the same day and he told me some mischievous rodents had decided to feast on my wires and that the cost for the repair was a few hundred I was elated ... er .. about the cost part, not the rodents. Will definitely be coming back.
