Earlier this week I brought them my R32 Skyline GT-R to get some suspension components replaced. I usually work on my own cars, but I currently live on an off campus apartment and I dont have access to a lift. So I took a chance with High Speed Tire and Auto and I am so happy that I did. They completely exceeded my expectations with the quality of their work, knowledgeable techs, and shockingly reasonable prices.My car is a little weird as its 30 years old and from Japan, our local Nissan dealer wouldnt touch it. But High Speed Tire and Auto know what they are doing and are able to perform quality work, even with a lack of available information on an obscure car. They took really good care of the car, and to my surprise had no difficulty moving the car even with its twin disk clutch (trust me it takes a little getting used to).So if you are thinking about using High Speed Tire and Auto to do to any repair to your car, stop thinking and go there. I could not recommend them enough.

My go to for tires and brakes. Honest and trustworthy. I had an issue with abs brake lights and 4wd lights coming on and during a routine oil change at the southside Toyota dealership they charged me $98 for diagnostics on the issue and couldnt even tell me what was wrong, THEN suggested I needed 3-4 more hours of diagnostic work @98-124 an hr just to tell me what the problem was.... I immediately told them I was taking my car back to high speed where they diagnosed the issue within 20mins of having my car on the lift, ordered the $178 speed sensor harness part in a day and had me on my way. I called Toyota back and got my $98 for nothing refunded. Thank you John and team for always taking care of me!

Today I was scheduled at a fancy new tire shop in Bloomington. I had ordered tires earlier in the week and was scheduled for early Friday morning to have them installed because the vehicle was leaving on a trip mid morning. When I got there I was informed that my tires were not there after being ordered from another one of the chain stores locations 4 days earlier. I called High Speed Tire and they did an amazing job locating tires for me and getting them installed in record time. It was service I havent seen in years. They will definitely get my business from now on. Great guys.

The best place in town to get tires.

I have utmost faith in their honesty, but to me, Scott doesnt always make it clear what things will cost. Be very inquisitive and make certain it is final cost that includes both labor and parts. Burned me badly on that one. Although, I accept some responsibility for not being a wiser consumer. He may have been having a bad day, but his attitude left a little to be desired. I may still give them another try after I have a chance to mellow out a bit.

By far my favorite tire shop in town. Fast, reliable, affordable and dependable. These guys get high marks across the board. New location on west side but same great service.

Good service, well priced as well. Went in for an alternator replacement without an appointment. Dropped my car off Late-morning on Friday. They said it’d be done that day, but called me to let me know they wouldn’t be able to get to it. Thankfully they’re one of the only places in town open on Saturday, which is one of the reasons I went to them in the first place. It was finished Saturday morning with great work!

Ive been taking my vehicles here for two years now and have always been very happy with both price and service. I wont go anywhere else and always suggest them to others. The staff is friendly and reliable. Once, my jeep required work on the transmission. I was quoted a price for parts and labor, and given a time frame for pick up. The fix took twice as long for reasons beyond their control, but they kept me updated and didnt charge a cent extra. The mechanic worked diligently on my vehicle so i could have it in time for holiday travels. There is a reason this family run shop has been in business for so long!

High Speed Tire has zero respect for their community neighbors and for their customers.Ever since they moved to their new location on the west side, they have been using residents parking at their old location as a free advertising space to park their truck with a big sign announcing their new address. Now I can understand this of they had left the truck with the sign on the street for a few weeks. But it has been over three months and they are continuing to disrespect the people who pay rent to live on this street. We deserve access to safe parking and they are limiting that. It should be illegal to use a pickup truck permanently parked on the street as your free advertising spot. Multiple residents on this street have kindly asked them to move the truck since its been 3+ months but they continue to be rude and disrespectful of multiple members of this community.In addition, back when they were here here at the old location, they were downright rude to me as a customer. I came in one Saturday morning around 10:30am to ask about a getting break check and the tall blonde woman behind the counter rolled her eyes and huffed that I should know that it was too late in the day for them to fit me in. She treated me like I was stupid and wasting her time rather than being polite and explaining to me that they fill up fast and its best to try again early. I would have come back the next week but the terrible customer service experience I had just walking in was enough to keep me from ever returning. There are plenty of better options in town where you wont get treated like youre stupid.

Tl;dr do not go here unless you enjoy dealing with sketchy, condescending people who like to rip you off, take short cuts, and dismiss you.Within 5 minutes of walking into this shop, my gut told me to walk away. I should have listened. The mechanic I initially spoke with dismissed my concerns about a rattling noise in the engine area simply because I couldnt replicate the problem on-site (I later discovered that the sound was coming from worn-out engine mounts, so I wasnt imagining things). A few days later, the shop called to say that over $500 in repairs (front rotor and brake pad replacements, oil change) had already been completed. A mechanic should inform you of needed repairs BEFORE completing them. I asked why these parts needed to be replaced, and the mechanic reassured me that they were worn out due to age.Two months later, my brakes started making the exact same noise, so I brought my car in again. A few days later, a mechanic informed me that the shop had completed the exact same repairs. What a joke. Brake pads dont wear out in two months. They couldnt be bothered to take a more in-depth look at the brakes/wheels even though my car was showing signs of something more problematic than worn out pads. This time they replaced the parts at no charge but, surprise surprise, the same noises reappeared within a few months.

They were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so nice to talk with and they took care of my car with ease. Pricing is more than reasonable. I will be going back if my car needs anything.

Brought my truck into High Speed, this week because the A/C stopped blowing cold air. They diagnosed the problem quickly and called me the cost estimate. The service tech was very friendly and courteous over the phone and had all the details to what happend and what it would cost to repair. Im not sure whats changed since all of these positive reviews below but my experience at this shop has been nothing but that of a typical of a shady car repair shop.The final bill was over $600, when other shops in the area estimated $450 maximum. I only agreed to this price because they (originally) said they would have it done sooner than the other shops I received quotes from- which didnt end up happening.Hi-Speed ended up keeping my car 4 days on for a simple brake job. Let alone the fact that I had to return a week later (and wait another 2 hours) to fix a mistake THEY made during the original repair.In short, save your time and your money- go somewhere else.

98 Buick was taken in because the rear driver side wheel caught on fire. They fixed it by replacing emergency brake cables and wheel cylinders. When we picked it up, we asked will it catch on fire again? they promised it would not. Within 2 weeks, the exact same wheel caught on fire again. Took the vehicle to Midas - where they actually fixed the problem - and asked for a refund from High Speed. They refused. Entered a dispute with Chase credit. Midas stated what was wrong with the repairs, but High Speed sent a letter to Chase with MULTIPLE outright lies and refused to give a refund. STAY AWAY from these CROOKS!!!

I needed an oil change quickly because of my procrastination and I called a few other places before giving you guys a call. Your service guy was very helpful and unlike the other businesses that I called sounded like he wanted my business. I came in about 15 minutes later and waited about 30 minutes for the oil to be changed. While I was waiting, one of the service employees there even gave me a magic show. Haha... I am thankful for this place this Thanksgiving. My Intrepid is running even better than before my power steering hose clamp broke. I was convinced more was broken, but they discovered it was a simple fix and didnt take advantage of me. When I called they were helpful, the job was finished before I expected. Dont worry how place looks, Im completely satisfied.

Contacted store via email for a price quote for tires on my truck, and was given a response within hours. After doing some shopping around they had the lowest price. Even beating out big chains like Walmart and Tire Barn. I went in the following day to set up an appointment and Jeff the counter representative was friendly and very helpful. The tires werent at the location so he had them over-nighted. He then gave me a call the following day to confirm that the tires had shown up. I wasnt expecting that. Great customer service. Most places just dont care. But these guys were awesome! My tire replacement literally took less than 30 minutes. I inspected my rims and truck prior-to and after the install especially due to the speed of the change and everything looked perfect! Ive already recommended them to a friend. I also JUST created this Google account just to show how really great they were.

Before the mid of 2012, this shop was a charm, 5 star. Friendly environment, fair prices and studious works. BUt... it is very sad to see this place go south since the mid of 2012, their quality of work, price reasonableness all going south.For the quality of work, Id say that the simple and basic jobs didnt pose a problem. And most GOOD reviews about them since 2012 falls into this category. But anything beyond simple, like aftermarket or custom job, they start to mess up, mess up small, or mess up BIG TIME. They made 4 mistakes in a big project on my car... I used to be a loyal customer but now, i would avoid this place if you are doing serious stuff

Went in to get an oil leak fixed.--Charged for oil, yet dip stick was completely dry when I checked the oil after getting it back.--Car received 2 days later than previously told it would be finished.--Tracked a bunch of mud into the car which is pretty unprofessional.--Charged the industry standard of $80/hour at a hole in the wall shop where you would expect by the job rates or $40-60/hour.--Car mysteriously developed an ABS/Traction Control/Power Steering problem the day after receiving it. (Source is a wheel bearing or wheel speed sensor wire harness).Took a chance on this place because of comparatively higher ratings than other shops, but now I know it was a mistake. Shop gets 2 stars because at least the job was done or at least the problem went away for the time being.

If you are going to replace your tires, order online yourself and let them set up.I knew it will cost me more unless ordering online, But I had to go for it because I was rushed. So, I bought 2 tires from High Speed and replaced. There was about $30 difference plus tax for each. I paid $490, and 2 tires, the same size, brand, item, are $400 online include shipping. It means I paid $45 for setting each tire. But their retail price for setting a new tire customer supplied is $30.Thus, seeing the possibility that you can get better brand better performance tires for the cheaper price online, buying tires from HS is your last choice.

Everything was terrible. My van wasnt starting, and I was pretty sure the starter needed to be replaced. I called here and got a quote for replacing the starter, but was also told they would need to do a $70 electrical inspection to find out what was really wrong. Having called around to a few shops this seemed a little expensive but close to standard. So I took it in, told them what I thought it was and let them inspect it. They said it was the starter, and replaced it. The next day they called me and said something along the lines of, someone has messed up these wires in here and were gonna have to replace them. So I said, ok thats fine. Thinking that since I had over 300 dollars worth of work done they would replace some wires and it would be part of the service. When I went to pay for the service they had tacked on an extra 130 dollars, and told me they replaced the solenoid. This is a 15-20 dollar part that takes about 10 minutes to replace. Also I can do it myself and would have if they had said this needs to be replaced (which is what I paid $70 for in the first place). So I asked to see the broken parts they replaced, and they said they didnt have them. I asked how I could have been driving the van around if one of those parts was broken and the other wasnt, not possible. So they told me with a straight face they must have broken at the same time. Everyone was extremely condescending in the situation, and was clearly running me for my money. So I pay because I have to if I want my van. Then within a week it isnt starting right again. I call them to tell them whats happening, and they tell me I can bring it in again...yeah sure. Then I ask if they put a new starter on or a rebuilt starter, because on the bill it said new starter and was the price of a new starter. Its a rebuilt starter they say... Never going back here, and I hope you dont make the same mistakes as me. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Was in from out of town and had a wheel overheating. They took the car and found it was only grease build up and not a bad bearing or caliper. I got my car back in a day and there was no charge.Honesty and integrity. These guys have it.

I went to High Speed Tire on Christmas Eve without an appointment, and they fixed my tire (it had a nail in it) in 30 minutes. The bill was modest.

High Speed improperly installed a new TPMS sensor, charged me more than Tire Barn would have, and failed to fix the improper installation after I visited three additional times. The fourth time my TPMS light came on, I took my car to Tire Barn and they quickly fixed High Speeds mistake. Save your time and money and go to Tire Barn instead.

This place does not even deserve a star I made a review about this place 3 years ago and it looks like my post was removed because I was warning all not to go here and get your car done .i had brought my car in to get my transmission replaced due that my car would only go in reverse the owner told me he would charge me $500 and some change to do so well I ended up bringing my car to them to do the job and was only supposed to be a few days before it had got fixed but three days went by and still no work then on a Saturday i noticed my car was not in the spot I had backed it into so I assumed it was in the shop getting ready for the trans swapwell then I drive by on a Sunday cause it was a easy route to go where I was going and there is my car parked by two trucks so I went to look at it to make sure no damage had occurred to the new body parts I had put on and then I noticed my driver door ajar and then I start looking closer and my entire stereo system was ripped out without even having a face plate on it so I called the police to make a report and subs amps mids and highs was all ripped off then I came back in the next day to talk to porter about my stuff along with a police officer and the owner was very nervous he had my only way in the car due to no door keys he had my driver key and key fob and he said no one in his shop could have touched it that my key and fob was in his office and I said no someone there had done this he kept denying it then he said it was in his office the entire time so then after are conversation I said I want to go back down and make sure there wasnt anything I didnt look over then he pulls my keys out of a little sliding glass window to the garage and then I was like wait a minute I thought you said there was no way anyone could have had access to my key And then he got real nervous he had his son come with him outside prob thought I was going to attack him or something yes I was very angry and upset about what happend then a few days later he called me and said I had to pick my car up and take my car someplace else for the work I filed a law suit called the bbb and Indiana attorney generals office and they made high speed pay theft cost of what had been ripped off but didnt pay for the electronic problems that happend from my dash being ripped open who ever done the job had plenty of time to do the theft job but then they called me and said I had to have my trans done someplace else .so I done that had another shop do it and they charged me two hundred dollars less then high speed was going to charge me and I was able to replace my stuff that was ripped off but be aware of this shady place they will do you dirty every which way they can you have been warned even the city has a report about this on file to who does not believe this happend shady owner john porter and his crew are not to be trusted and half of them are thieves September 2015 now September 2018 I will make sure everyone knows what crooks these people are

They torqued my tire on so tight that I had to be towed when I got a flat!! I couldnt get it off... Even the tow truck I called couldnt get it off. What a waste of money!!!Plus the owner talked my ear off about creationism the whole time. Keep it to yourself dude. No one cares.

This was the only place that would look at and fix my car on the same day..i took it to one shop they kept it 3 days and could not tell me what was wrong with it..hell i dont think they even looked at it..my best friend said take it to high speed ..they good..i said ok but i am not leaving my car there..took it in on a sat..i told them i wanted a aliment ..the tec told me we got to make sure every thing is secure under neath the car..as they looked they came back told me it needs a sway bar and wheel hub ..i didnt know if they would have enough time to do it..the mechanic said we will make time if we have to stay over..they got my car fixed and i am riding and back on the road we talked about cars and the cars of the past i am from a big city and i worked on cars and i felt better because just what i thought was wrong with my car they confirmed it fixed it ..best place i have found in bloomington!!

I would definitely recommend High Speed Tire and Automotive! I had a unusual situation. I live in Evansville, IN while my son lives in Bloomington. He was preparing for a move to Seattle, WA, and his car was not in condition for this long trip. After doing some research over the internet for prospective auto repair shops, I was impressed with the reviews for High Speed. Since I do not live in Bloomington, it was important for me to find a shop I could trust. I called them, arranged for them to tow my sons car to their shop so they could inspect it, and communicate their concerns with me. This was completed, promptly, and they provided a detailed list and cost of repairs. On a Friday, I gave them the approval to complete the repairs...and the next day, I received a call informing me the car was ready to be picked up. I was able to get all necessary repairs completed at one shop (tires, brakes, wipers, oil change, etc) and in super-fast time. Ty and Tim were great, they treated me very well, and I highly recommend them!

PARENTS OF INDIANA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS - YOU CAN TRUST THIS BUSINESS! My son is an IU-Bloomington student and his car developed problems with the power steering. We live over four hours away, which normally, meant wed be stuck guessing on where he should take his car for repair. However, we knew this family-owned company from a prior repair and felt completely comfortable having our sons car worked on at this place. John Porter (owner) and Jeff French (service manager) were excellent to deal with and they kept me completely in the loop as to what was wrong and was needed to make repairs. The car was dropped off on a Tuesday morning. That afternoon Jeff advised me of the issues and sent an estimate via email (at my request). I authorized the work that day and by Wednesday afternoon my son was able to pick up his car. I was able to pay for the repairs using my credit card over the phone with no problem but the best part is that the actual cost of the work was less than the estimate! It is so refreshing and comforting to be able to do business with a company that places such a high value on honesty and integrity! To their credit, when my son picked up the car, they spent some extra time going over the repairs with him and advising him as to what to keep his eyes on to make sure everything was okay. They really go the extra mile because they really care! Thats what you get when you when you deal with a family-owned business... people who care! I highly recommend any parent of an IU student to place their trust in this company if your childs car needs work!
