They definitely have no idea about what they are looking for when you go in and ask even had the old part with me and still was trying to tell me it was an air conditioning system part that cost 100 bucks I took it off the vehicle and it was a cooling system part better off to go to OReilly or Napa

A quick shout-out to Advance for friendly, helpful, and honest service. I took in a battery that has required a jumpstart twice in the last two months (probably owing largely to sitting idle most of the time), fully ready to purchase a replacement. The staff person tested the battery, reporting that it tested fine, and then gave me advice on how to improve its performance. I know where I’m going when I *do* need to replace the battery.

Truck broke down in the parking lot this week and had to get it towed unfortunately.. But to make things worse someone stole my center cap to my left rear wheel. Not the easiest part to find due to the age of the truck. It is however a very sporty popular truck. So popular that even one of the employees here even has one. Prolly just a rare coincidence but who knows good and ugly people are everywhere. This situation has caused me to question the honesty and reliability of the employees at this current branch. So in the future I will not be taking my business here

This location has always been there friendliest and competent of all the auto parts stores Ive been to in Bloomington. They also have a large well spaced out parking lot to do some repairs if necessary.

It always takes super long to even get anything there. Dont even try calling in because theyll never have it ready. You got four people working there however only one persons running the check out. With six people in line waiting. Then when you go to show up and pick up something that you called in they dont even have it ready. Then youre waiting in mind the whole time to actually find out that they havent even got your stuff yet.

They have vehicle things.

Walked in and saw two employees with masks down so I walked out. Been almost a year, get it together!

Much better experience than my first visit. This gentleman asked if I needed help and didnt ask me to hurry because I was taking to long!!

Would be three stars but given the competition ill give it four. Appears to be an older store since its dimly lit and seems sort of dirty but ultimately they had everything I needed in stock and the employees knew where to find them. At the end of the day, they have the basics that matter.

I was in desperate need of a new battery. Jeff was so nice and so informative. He came out to my car to double-check that I actually needed a battery, and not a new alternator. I ended up needing a new battery. He suggested what kind would work for me. I know its their job there, but he installed it for me. I really appreciated that. He was very fast. He stuck around to make sure that my car started. I recommend this place to everyone and Jeff is super awesome. Always ask for Jeff!

Please keep hiring more people like Mr. Jeff! We came in with either a bad alternator or battery! He gladly tested it out. It was simply a battery. Best place to go!!! Bought a car battery and Jeff was more than happy to take out my old one and put the new one in. And when my car didnt turn over, he checked the battery to see it was charged, it was. But realized my starter was damaged. Jeff hooked me up with an awesome mechanic that came too me and used the part that I bought to replace the old one. THANK YOU JEFF AND EVERYONE ELSE made me feel welcomed while I was waiting

Very helpful staff. I went there for a battery and they walked me right through the whole process and installed the battery right there. They even had the tool to preserve the memory in the ECU while the battery was out of the car. Excellent service!

Right parts for a good price.

Worse place to do business I bought a part online got the wrong part was not given a receipt didnt get a conformation email and when I tried to return it they told me they couldnt help me even though I showed them the copy of my debit card transaction that i used to buy the part. I would suggest that you go to OReilly or AutoZone heck even Napa might cost more but they know how to keep track of there orders and do business the right way.

When I visited this store my hope in humanity was restored there was a gentleman working behind the counter he helped me look for a certain part that I kept running into issues with, wheel in both heard a noise of a loud crash someones will had fallen off their vehicle in the parking lot and we both walked over there checked on the guy made sure he was okay and we both assisted him with his damaged vehicle and helped him find a tow to a shop close to where he lives. Basically what Im saying is the people working behind the counter there are some true-hearted people.

These guys are great! We have basically been rebuilding a 1994 GMC suburban and despite not knowing the sizes or part numbers for most of anything, we were still able to get everything we needed. Even when we had mistaken the manufacturerand had to take parts back. All-in-all it was a good experience.

Not bad.....I usually look on line before I go.

Middle of the day on Saturday only two people working and one of those two people wasnt fairly new person who did not know much about Auto parts and the senior person was a lady who probably never touched a wrench or worked on a car ever. And God for forbid that you try to call and ask a question I stood in line for 30 minutes to get waited on and when people called in they just simply got put on hold. drive on down the road to OReillys youll have four guys working the counter who know what theyre doing

I run a small shop here in Bloomington I buy all my parts from advance Auto especially the 3rd Street location. Always have what I need and if not overnight theyll have it usually in the morning. Great staff bunch of great guys and gal. You owe it to yourself to buy your parts here.

Went in to get my battery, starter, and alternator checked. Adam came out and tested them, told me the battery was low but still within manufacturers warranty. Car wouldnt start afterwards because of the low battery, so he helped me tighten the battery in place and jump my car. Adam C. was exceptional and very helpful. Great service from Advance.

A mixed bag.The prices are comparable to the other auto parts stores, except Napa is usually a little more cost effective (cheaper), at least with the parts I need for my 2004 Corolla. The trade off is Napa closes earlier.Customer Service:In my experience, their customer service is a mixed bag. The first time I was there, I needed an adapter so I could attach my spark plug socket to my ¼ inch ratchet. I asked Evan where the sockets were. He was just as helpful as anyone could be! He could have starred in a training video on customer service.I put the 3 parts together, because I wanted to be sure I bought a 3/8 to ¼ adapter, not the other way around. Evan didn’t try to rush me to get to the next customer. Well done, lad!The 2nd time I was there, I bought a can of Turtle Wax soft paste. (The one that is easy to remove later, as the hard shell paste can be difficult to remove when it’s old.) The clerk was an older, heavy set woman. She had Melissa embroidered on her shirt. She spoke so quietly, it was difficult to even understand what she said. She acted so annoyed that I was interrupting her day. She had to reach all of 4 feet away, pick up the Turtle Wax can and hand it over. What an unreasonable imposition! And I had already paid for it. The receipt was taped to the can.Every one of us has talked to a guy or a woman who speaks so slowly, we want to finish his or her sentences. I wanted to finish Melissa’s motions. Just move, look like you’re alive! It’s not that difficult.It’s strange that I experienced the zenith of customer service, as well as the nadir of customer service in just two trips, but that’s the reality of the situation.Other Auto Parts Store:NAPA: The chap there was super helpful! He offered to order any part they didn’t have in stock. Just check their hours, as they close earlier than the other auto parts stores.Auto Zone: The clerks always do their best to be helpful. Some of them don’t know how to tuck in their shirts, but aside from that, no worries.O’Reilly Auto Parts: They do okay, except for one big guy with a beard. He was actually eating a hamburger while he was sort of talking to me! They’re supposed to have a lunch break and 15 minute breaks, plenty of time to eat a hamburger.

Went there this morning around 740am, they advertise battery installation with battery purchase. Went in and ask unfriendly woman behind counter, she said we do but Im the only one here so I cant. The aggravating part is I had to leave car running and she was speaking to a man(that worked there behind the counter) when I arrived. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!Went right down to Auto Zone they had me in and out in less than 10 mins with install. Thank you Auto Zone!!

I went in there needing help with my car and not only did the workers help me get my product, Jeff made sure this is what I needed AND put the power steering fluid in for me!! Amazing service and my car is back to normal!!

Absolutely recommend this store at the 3rd street location!!! Had a Dr appt for my son at the pediatrician on landmark this morning, needless to say I had a dead battery on my gmc terrain and didnt notice until i was trying to head to Bloomington and was already running a little late. I was completely worried that: A) we werent going to make it too the appointment bc I would have to stop and purchase a battery on the way -or- B) I was going to make it to the appointment but when we went to leave, we were going to be stranded in the parking lot without anyone to help get my car battery jumped (for the 2nd time today mind you)I called this store and Jeff was so nice when he told me just to go straight to the appointment for my year and a half old son and that if indeed my battery wouldnt start after the appointment was over, he or asinine from the strike l store would happily come down and help me out. I felt so relieved and reassured that I immediately felt the need to post this review. You guys are awesome and I appreciate you!! Great customer service!!!
