I ordered on line and ordered from the Blaine store and went through the entire process, including bank payment - and 10 minutes later they cancelled the order - they were out of stock. I checked the stock when I placed the order and they had 1! I am going to another store now, but I feel the timing on this order was not very helpful!

I like shopping at Northern but some of the staff has made me feel like Im steeling even after my purchase. When I purchased my shop heater an employee made me show my receipt to him before I was able to load. He also had to verify price and part number. I just did all that at the register. Same employee followed me around the store after he handed me a tool from a locked cabinet. He could have said he would take it to the register if I had more shopping to do.

Good product selection, found what I needed, surprised (and a little disappointed) that free store pickup no longer seems to be an option. Even though I live close to the Blaine store, and have had orders shipped there before, it wasnt an option with this >$600 order...

It was very easy to shop for the item needed.

A little more expensive than menards or other mainstream stores that carry tools, but the tools northern carries are much higher quality. Basically everything there is high quality, and they have hard to find tools, more specific tools.Need a six point ratchet bit set? Dont bother with places like Menards, they dont have them. Northern has both deep and std. And they wont break with 100ft lbs, like harbor freight bits.We run a maintenance shop and northern has saved us from having to order tools online quite a few times. When a tool breaks and u need. A quality replacement asap, Northern is there.Plus they carry glass beads for sandblasting. Probably the only place in a 20 mile radius that does.

IF YOUR LOOKING TO SPEND MONEY THIS IS WHERE TO COME. THEY CARRY TOP OF THE LINE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT AND THE PRICES SHOW THAT AS WELL. THEY DO HAVE EVERYTHING, BUT NOTHING THAT YOU DONT PAY FOR.

I didnt see anywhere that would let me ship to store for free but thats ok cuz id still have to drive 35 miles to pick it up so home delivery is fine with me

Ordered bike rack on 5/11/2021-says “in stock” estimated delivery 5/18-5/28. 5/28 comes and goes- called to check on status on 6/2, store staff says it’s in their savage warehouse and will arrive Friday 6/11 bc they get their truck deliveries on Fridays. Today (Friday) another store staff says the item is “back ordered” and their truck deliveries “only” comes on Mondays and NEVER on Fridays! WTH! These people obviously don’t know what they are doing!

I have bought online and have experienced the same quality products that I have purchased in the store for immediate convenience.

Asked an employee where something was amd he told me they didnt have any right now. So i asked him to show me where they would be for next time I came in he jused waved his hand in a general direction and said they would be in the safety area. So I wandered around the store and finally found the safety department and what do you know tjere was a whole wall of what i was looking for with multiple varieties to choose from. Avoid this store and there lazy employees.

They admitted that their inventory is not very accurate. So if online it says they have 1 or 2 items left, be sure to check the phone before you drive-in.

I get a why are you bothering me? vibe from some of the store personnel at Blaine. Others have tried to be helpful, but didnt really know anything. Also, when Ive ordered things at the store, it has taken as long as 10 weeks when it was initially promised within 10 days. That was the worst and was for some inexpensive tarps, which I found at the Forest Lake store while I was still waiting for tarps from the Blaine store. From these experiences I take it the management of the Blaine store is just incredibly inept - poor customer service training of store personnel and unable to get stuff customers want. Ive started going to the Forest Lake store where things seem to go much better. Its worth the extra 7 miles of driving.

Went in to buy a DA. Everyone should avoid this guy name JAY.(tall Caucasian guy with glasses). Hes probably in his 50s. He was very rude and didnt want to help me. Saw me 3 time standing at the same spot didnt bother to help and just ignore me. Waited 15 mins and was getting annoyed so I walk around and finally got help from another guy I think his name was Paul. I told Paul about the guy Jay and this other guy was busy fixing this air compressor on the floor. Literally blocking the asle also. Place was nice and clean. Other workers was nice except Jay!

Im done with Northern Tool. I just tried to return an item still in the package just past 30 days, they would only give me in-store credit.. would only refund me for the cost of the item, not including sales tax?? Is that even legal??

Northern Tool has a good selection of items at fair or even darn good prices. However, the Blaine store has a problem with pulling the correct items when I have called ahead and asked for things to be put on hold- despite my giving them the item numbers. I recently also had trouble with being charged the correct price. Be sure to check your receipt before you leave the store. If you use a coupon and they screw something up with the sale, you have to have another coupon to get the discount. Yup. Happened to me.

90% of the time NT has exactly what I need, when I need it. If they dont have it in stock it can usually be shipped to store or to your home in a week or so. Im happy with the service and selection at my local NT store.

The video of the Kindling Cracker showed answers to How does it work, my main question. I ordered an 18 cracker for free shipping to our home at Zimmerman. No picture of the cracker until it arrives and I use it. 5 stars for ease of ordering and free shipping.

Purchased Ultra-toe brand hubs (with new seals)and bearing buddies for a sled trailer. The grease nipple fell off one of the bearing buddies. Also, the springs are too tight and squeeze the grease out in hot summer months. They work fine in the winter. Overall, Northern Tool and Equipment is still a good store, just watch the quality of some of the products they sell.

Northern Tool is a great place to go for all your construction and outdoor work supplies. They have everything. Ive went in there for chainsaws, loppers, and even trailer parts.

Customer service was good, but I had to work a bit harder than I should have to initiate it. I did very much appreciate the work of the cashier employee, as she was informative and polite.However, it’s the second to last day of June. It’s well known that masks are a must during these times. So why do their employees not wear them? I think it’s senseless, and disrespectful and dangerous for their customers. It’s the only store I’ve been to in the last month to month and a half that hasn’t had their employees wear masks. Therefore with my visit today being the first time I’ve ever visited a Northern Tool, it will be my last. I can’t support a company who doesn’t seem to care about the safety of their customers.

Walked in to buy some tools on 6/16/20. I stood by Milwaukee tools aisle for more then a half hour. 2 sales associates walked by I tried getting their attention for assistance neither of them stopped to help me, so I left. Now knowing there is a sale on the tools I want, and having a coupon as well. I figured alright they must have had brake/lunch or helping anther customer. I realized it was about 1 o’clock give them some slack. Thought I’ll call see if they even have the tool in stock the phone rang and rang no one even an answered the phone not even a ”can you hold please I am dealing with a customer.” nothing so I am going else where I am sure anyone else would feel the same.

The store manager Steve did an absolutely incredible job explaining every detail about the STIHL MS 170 chainsaw recently purchased.Steve patiently, walked me through all the nuances of the saw, the blade, the chain, the fuel and maintenance of all the parts. Also if there were problems what to look for. I highly recommend buying STIHL chainsaws from the business.

I will never buy Northern Tool equipment again. I dropped off a North Star Gas pressure washer for Service (pressure was low) I was told it will be look at in 1 to 2 days it’s been 7 days now and have still not heard from them. I call service department spoke with JAKE he said “I will look at it when I get to it” after 8 days I went to the store. I spoke with JAKE from service and asked him if they had a chance to look at it. He said “ He hasn’t had time to look at it” he handed me a piece of paper and told me go to the front counter and get your $40 dollars that you payed when you drop off the machine. I spoke with the Manager Brad from Northern tool and asked why hasn’t my machine been looked at, so he went to ask Jake. I guess Jake was too busy on the phone the manager couldn’t ask, so he gave me a 1-800 number to call and ask where else I can get my pressure washer serviced. I spent $2600 on a pressure washer less then a year old. $250 dollars or so on insurance and they can’t even look at it.

Service department is awful and very rude. Claimed generator needed new engine. Brought elsewhere and found oil was low killing the ignition and rocker arm had backed our bending a valve. Completely fixable.

Nice store and nice employees. I got a pair of steel toed boots, a pair of shoelaces, and inserts. I was impressed that they not only had the boots, but also the accoutrements. They were all reasonably priced also. They seemed to have that approach with all their products.

It is always a treat looking around NT. It is different this time. My wife and 2 grown sons came with to help me shop for a chainsaw. My wife says weeks ago you should get yourself a chainsaw. But try not to spend more than 500 bucks. Customer service was the BEST and customer Care Fantastic beyond expectation! Chainsaw was fueled and chain oil sump filled. That NT Employee (Brad) started it and made certain all was running tops before bringing it to the cashier for me. Brad filled out the warranty papers and made sure I was happy with everything. Asked first guy where to find a item he leaded me to the wrong area. 2nd guy didnt know where it was instructed me to ask another guy which was with another customer. Asked another guy which didnt want take the time to show me so he just pointed inthe area.never did finethw items. Left without it

The employees had a big smile and so personable and knowledgeable I will go back and just buy some more tools. They also have the greatest LED flash lights available from $1 On up to so bright it will melt the paint off a car a mile away.

We went to the Northern Tool in Blaine to purchase a Stihl weed whip. We had a $20 off coupon. The woman rung up our stuff and we swiped our card. It said approved, but would not print a receipt. She urged us to swipe again. We explained that it said approved. She said, “I understand that, but you weren’t charged” so we swiped it and it didn’t work again. She called the help desk and they then told her that coupons cannot be used on Stihl products. She said, “oh I forgot to tell you that” So we just decided to leave at that point. Well, we just got a notification now from our credit card company that we were charged twice, almost $400. Thanks a lot Northern Tool.

I strongly suggest avoiding this store while COVID is with us. I was in there on June 10 and none of the employees were wearing masks, almost none of the shoppers were and nobody was maintaining social distancing. I called to talk with the manager who said he didn’t believe that masks were important and they have no intention of changing their policy in any of their stores. This is an unsafe practice and they were quite resistant to accepting any responsibility for their employees or shoppers.

Lots of great funds here for decent prices. Always check out the clearance area, get some even better prices on some unique things.Always clean store and mostly nice staff, although they seem a little stressed and maybe short handed at times.

They had just what I was looking for, a utility cart that was reasonably priced, easy to assemble, made of sturdy material. I just got it yesterday. I hope it will last for years for our purpose. After I assembled it, I was very pleased with the stability.

A step up from harbor freight. So you should expect to take your chances on anything purchased there. Ive had good luck on the stuff Ive bought there. Others havent. They have a large parking lot and the store is well stocked and organized. Employees are hit or miss.

If you need something fixed dont take it here. They only have one mechanic and he likes to take a lot of time off. I took my chaninsaw in almost 3 weeks ago they said it would take maybe a week at most still havent heard anything yet. Get another mechanic so you can stay on schedule
