I went in to buy a Keyboard and walked out as a very Happy customer! Customer service was very friendly and knowledgeable as well! Ty Bailey Brothers for making my passion in music become a reality! Highly Recommended!
I had an absolutely great experience in this huge, well-stocked store. Salesperson, Erskine, was awesome. No pressure, very helpful, patiently letting me try out one guitar after another to make sure I was happy with the amp.I could have bought this on-line and had it shipped for free and saved $85 in taxes - but I felt the experience was worth paying a little more, and worth supporting a local (non-chain) business. There are some negative reviews here. I’m sure with doing a lot of sales and service, someone won’t be happy. But I did not experience anything but great gear, and a helpful no-pressure salesman.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Always a great experience!
Good service very knowledgeable and helpful. The had what I needs at a very good price for a recording booth.
Helpful and kind! Will be back to see them soon.
Just bought my dream guitar here. The guitar guy, Erskine Milton, Was very accommodating and patient with me. I played several very nice guitars and he was all too willing to help me in any way. I love my new 58 VOS Les Paul Custom. Thank you Erskine for taking the time to help me pick my perfect guitar!!!!
Great people to do business, they were the only place in Alabama that could fix our churches Roland keyboard. Great service, thank you!!
I was driving back to Franklin Tn today from Ga and stopped in the shop.Everyone was extremely kind and the store looked great!I was super impressed with John in the electric room. Not only did they stock the “must have pedals” they also had pedals that help players find and define their individual sound.John had a thorough knowledge of all the gear in the room. I highly recommend the shop!!Dave
Ok so Im just waiting this a five because I font know yet this is a question for anyone who can awnser. Does this companys guitars come with bags or do you have to buy them separate
I just want to say I am completely blown away by the level of customer service that I received on my last purchase. I didnt really think about writing a review after the first guitar that I bought there, but now that I have another experience from a major purchase I just had to say something to the public.Over the years I have also purchased smaller items because it was convenient to me to stop by and get things like cables, picks, capos, and other little odds and ends for guitar and bass that I use. This time I bought a relatively inexpensive guitar there; an epiphone Les Paul special, in the TV yellow color. I even traded another guitar towards it. I thought they were very fair on their trade value and reasonable in their explanation of how that works. The reason I feel like I had an exceptional experience was they treated me very good even though the $ value I was spending wasnt that high. Looking back I was thinking that I dont think I could have gotten a better experience even if I had been purchasing a $2,500 Gibson! I felt like a valued customer and they answered all of my quirky questions and help me find a hardshell case that was in my budget and I am very happy with the final price and how the deal worked out. Please go patronize this business. They deserve it because they work hard for their customers and they let you know if something is within their ability to produce or not. They have my business from now on because of how I was treated on this deal and looking back on other deals too. I think their prices are fair they are better than retail. Overall, I am super excited about my purchase and very happy with my experience with Bailey Brothers music company.
The best stock in Alabama and possibly the Southeast. Great helpful people who offer installation, rentals and Backline. Ben is GM and Joseph is an incredible luthier. Worth your time to stop and look.
Good selection of musical equipment. Be prepared because they strictly enforce the muzzle mandate inside. They make you wear masks.
I came in here the other day and they were incredibly overbearing and checked in on me every 30 seconds. From the second I walked in they were all up in my face and insisted on providing an address and phone number whenever I paid which I fully expect to be sold somewhere. I don’t know if they’re struggling to keep the lights on or something but the amount of customer service was way too much and came across as pushy and rude. Literally just let me shop.
Waited 15 minutes for someone to help me but instead was ignored. Ended up leaving empty handed. I literally just needed drumsticks and the person at the front was aware. Will never go back.
These guys are the best! Ben is very knowledgable, honest, responsive and personable. He is very easy to talk to and work out any potential sales with. He has helped me out a lot and I have bought a few products with them including a Gibson and some Boss pedals. The customer service experience has been outstanding and the site is also very convenient given it has a live chat agent. Cant recommend enough! Check them out! Thanks Bailey Brothers Music Company!
Usually get good service, but I took my guitar nut to be repaired after my guitar took a spill. I let them know the guitar had fallen and hoped they would fix. The nut was replaced poorly but the guitar had a buzz. Took it back 2 more times. The last visit, the person in charge of the repair (2 weeks later)said I had heavy fingers and raised the stings to a height that made the guitar unplayable. I took to another repair shop and they repaired the nut replaced by Bailey Brothers found a couple of uneven frets repaired the frets adjusted the neck and had to re-setup the guitar from the disaster repair at Bailey Brothers. If in need of repairs I will never return to this store.
Went to look for Double bass drum pedals. The initial phone call, drums guy was polite, explained and answered questions in a manner that didnt feel rushed or annoyed. Off to the store. The Drums guy showed me their selection and prices, explained a little about each set then backed off and let me make a decision without the classic Guitar Center upsell attempt just buy this one because [ insert cheesy sell line here] . Dude that spoke volumes about this store, they werent watching people like police, *cough* Guitar center *cough* they have a better product than other stores in particular the Mapex $119 double bass set has better reviews and looks more sturdy than the Mapex double bass pedals sold at GC for $129 on sale at time of this review for $119. Then on to sticks, again took time to understand what i wanted and what i was desiring to recommend the right product and not the top dollar one! Now off to the front counter, set my stuff down at the reg and told them i was going to wait because i also needed guitar strings. I naturally went for Ernie Ball, but the cashier guy began to tell me about different brand he uses, explained why and also hit all the issues with strings i was having on the head. Its nice to go to music store where people are actually musicians and know what theyre talking about and selling. I definitely will be back. AND i definitely will tell anyone who asks about a music store about them!
I have bought a LOT of equipment from these guys over the years. They have the best brands at good prices. Always super nice and knowledgeable about their products. My go to music store in central Alabama. They are like family. We are lucky to have them here.
Best guitar store in Alabama! Took my Les Paul in for a pickup swap and they fixed three other problems with it and didnt even charge me for it! I was so impressed that I bought an amp the same day! Thanks guys!
Recently brought a used instrument to these guys to be cleaned and conditioned. They charged $230 and Im not really sure what they did beyond $40 worth of repairing. I even priced the individual parts myself and they cost a total of $23. The instrument was very dirty and they didnt even do a good or complete job of wiping it down. We didnt get any paperwork explicitly stating what they were going to do so we cant really argue the point. The inside of the instrument wasnt even touched during cleaning because there is obvious dust and grime that was there when we gave it to these guys.We also bought a mouthpiece for the instrument, I previously priced it at $10 online and it was $35 at this place. An outrageous markup. All of this was after agreeing to a monthly payment for an instrument only to be informed the day before it was needed that they didnt have any in stock so we had to scramble to find a different option. Because of this, they also didnt send us a cleaning kit for the instrument that had been fully paid for.I will be looking for another place for any other instrument needs.
This place is as good as, if not better than, Guitar Center. But this one man that works there is not the friendliest and makes me and my music buddy never wanna come again... I was gonna buy at least $20-$60 of stuff, and my buddy was gonna get his guitar worked on, but we decided against it after our experience today. My friend and I were playing our guitars together at moderate volumes. No louder than the other customers that passed through. Our volume knobs probably were set around 1. This rude clerk guy came up to us and told us turn it down, there are customers in here. When there was maybe 1 other guy in the guitar room at most. What are we, trash? Are we not customers?Though to be fair, there was a little kid who sat behind us who was louder than both of us combined, and he was tremolo picking the most random nonsensical annoying noise (future shredder?), but he shouldve told the kid to turn down—not us. We both turned our amps off because he was rude the last time we were in the store and we were pretty annoyed at this point. But the kid turned his amp down and continued the random picking and the dude immediately came back and said hey, okay, turn it off, thats enough for today and took the guitar from the kid. The rudest music store clerk weve ever encountered. Theres another guy who is super nice that works there who let us turn the volume up—at least 2 or 3 times what we did today—and test every amp in the store. We bought a $2,000 setup from the nice guy in the past, but this rude guy would probably kick us out of the store before we could make a purchase. I didnt catch his name, but hes average height, blondish, his hair is thinning, and he had a short beard. A nicer worker told us hes been there 3 years, though Im not sure how hes lasted that long. Hell probably follow you around like youre a thief and ask if he can help you 8 times like he did to us the last time we came in the store simply to buy a cable.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Very helpful staff. My two kids want to start playing guitar and violin. The salesperson was patient in helping the kids and was not condescending at all. He was patient and even helped my left handed child decide if she needed a right or left handed guitar. Turns out that even though she is very left handed the right handed guitar felt better. Also their stick was very impressive. Lots and lots of stuff everywhere.
Bought a Takamine in the Montgomery BBM store 1995, and recently had some fret work. It plays like new. Thanks Clay, for the great customer service, and putting me on a guitar to suit my playing needs 👍
Do NOT trust for online sales. I found a guitar in their website, comminucated back and forth for a few days. Decided to pull the trigger and put a deposit down while I waited on a new card. Received a call 5 days after I paid that the item hadnt been sold but was promised to an employee and even though I paid they would not offer the transaction. S H A D Y business.
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
Easily the best music store in Bham. Great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Always have what I need!
Amazing selection. Employees were really helpful in finding the right guitar for me.
I love shopping at Bailey Bros on 280. The sales staff is great, especially one of the guys named Sammy. He is always very helpful and knowledgeable. He always helps me find the perfect gear for me. Good prices and excellent service. Over all, I always have a great experience shopping there.
Bought two instruments here an epiphone Sheraton and a epiphone eb 3 and a fender rumble 40. They were very patient and worked out a great deal and didnt rush or push me. 10/10 definitely shop here again
Very friendly customer service, and they worked extremely quickly to get my order shipped. Definitely recommend using them!
It was my first time in here recently and I had a pleasant experience. David made sure I felt welcomed and was very helpful in answering any questions I had. Overall they have a great selection and friendly staff.
My daughter has taken drum lessons at Bailey Brothers for over nine months now. We could not be happier. The customer service we receive from the front desk is wonderful, and her teacher, Leif, is so nice and is an excellent drummer and instructor. The price for their lessons is very competitive, and they are conveniently located. I couldnt ask for more!
Kevin was very helpful in fixing my guitar I purchased over a year ago. Was having some issues with my saddle and strings breaking every show for the last few weeks. Fixed it in just a few minutes and restrung my instrument for a Very affordable price. Love the guys at bailey brothers.
Great people, great deals, great customer service! Whether you’re buying online or in person, you’ll be glad you shopped with these guys. I have done business with them for a long time, just bought a new Fender Strat and couldn’t be more pleased with the product and the service, they always go above and beyond. I will definitely return, like I always have.
Super nice store full of super helpful people. I visited this location three times in one day, as I was undecided and trying to deal with the idiots at Guitar Center, and each time, a really nice gentleman, Erskine, helped me. He went back, spent the time finding the guitar I was after, took it out of the box even when I wasnt for sure on buying it, and tuned it for me. Ultimately, his attitude, kindness, and knowledge was what sold me on my guitar. After the run around at Guitar Center, he was just what I needed. Thank you so much!
This full service family owned music store is the best I have ever shopped at. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products and that is rare in this market of corporate box stores. Do yourself a favor and go see them before you make a purchase....Its well worth the drive.Dr. Mark PyleFlorence, AL
Great selection of quality guitars and a staff that is knowledgeable about what they sell.
Love the products and love the service
Kindest and most knowledgeable employees I’ve experienced. They deserve anyone’s business who is interested in learning more about music or getting their gear improved. Todd particularly is super nice and helpful.
This place has always been good to me.
We always go here for our musical needs. I love the place. They are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend any musician to this place.
I cant speak for the rest of the people who work there but I spoke to a man about selling a saxophone and he was the rudest clerk I have ever encountered. If you need a music store, try Arts! Theyre right across the street and are actually nice to their customers.
It was really nice and organized. The people who helped me where real nice and even tho my age they still talked to me in a professional tone.
These guys are always super helpful.
This place is awesome, need customer service? DONE! Need a repair? DONE! Need to place an order? DONE! The only thing I did not like was the lack of extended range instruments. You will not be finding fanned fret, 28 fret, tap guitar, etc. You want those go to WARR guitars or order them off of a musicians website.
I needed 2 wireless mics for our churchs old PA system. They are so helpful! They want to make sure that what you purchase from them will work! Nothing like good customer service!
Purchased a Les Paul Bass here years ago-- still enjoying it.Thank you BB Music.
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.
Great staff, prices and awesome selection in stock! Been buying gear from them for over 20 years. Always happy!
I have done business with these guys from day one in downtown Montgomery. I now live in Gadsden drive over an hour to their store. Always a good time and worth the drive to find what I need!
Always very friendly and service oriented.
Dishonest, and disrespectful. While Im aware they have an all sales final on used gear policy, it is their responsibility to properly inspect the gear they take in and not sell something that is damaged internally (in my case, a guitar amp). Idiot salesman also had a smug grin on his face the whole time my brother and I were having to deal with it (all 5-6 hours) and was making snooty comments back and forth. In a nut shell they sold me a dead amp and then laughed in my face about it. If this is how your business treats customers, dont expect to be a business for long. I attempted a purchase with Bailey Brothers about 8 years ago. Was not a pleasant experience. This one wasnt either. Rest assured, thats it. I will not be back.Update: Hey the owner called me just to prove they really do not care about customers. Tried to minimize what happened, and basically acted exactly like Keith did. Also a robotic I apologize but were not going to do anything to fix it does not count as rectifying anything. Gee wonder why the Southside store closed! Oh yeah and if you have a bad experience with them and they dont own up to it theyll do like any typical teenager does and tries to badmouth you on Facebook, then stalk your page. Very mature. Screenshots are great though arent they?PS: Oh and buddy, if I were mad and desperate to pay my rent, then why in the heck did I buy a $700 amp from you? Nice try.
Hands down my favorite store in the Birmingham area. Great staff, and good selection.
Over the years I habe purchased thousands of dollarsof gear from Bailey Brothers. I have always found the owner and staff to be knowledgeable and courteous. I have found their prices to be competitive with national big box stores, but they offer personalized service as a family owned business that the chain stores cant. They will stand behind their product.
Had a pretty poor experience the one time I went to Bailey Brothers Music.I went there to trade in a partscaster tele for a guitar pedal. I started looking at some envelope filters and some guy came out of the back trying to tell me that envelope filters are only for bass players. Told him about the dead and others, and he changed his stance from “auto wahs are for bass only” to “well the mu-trons are for bass and the Q-trons are for guitar”.First of all, Jerry Garcia, Trey Anastasio, Keller Williams and countless others use mu trons in their guitar rigs. Second, the Q-tron is just a pedal made by EHX that’s also an envelope filter. Hell people use MXR’s bass envelope filters on their guitar rigs. So the overall musical knowledge when it came to pedals wasn’t very high in my experience. Also, when I went to trade my partscaster in, the guy offered me $125 for it. I later learned that this was a pretty bad lowball, as I got offered $200 at a much smaller guitar store. At first I said $125 was fine, if he would bring the price on a boss envelope filter down from $130 to $125. The guy said no, on a five dollar difference. I ended up taking my guitar somewhere else and (thank god) getting $200 for it.I’m giving this place two stars because they did have a large selection. Not a super interesting selection, but large. Also the staff was friendly, although not as knowledgeable as I’d hoped. Sadly I will not be going back to Bailey Brothers.
Good staff well organize not bad products
Great place for all my music needs. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Great place for electric & acoustic guitars with huge selection of amps also.Kevin is a wizard with guitars.Shop here before buying
I frequently shop at this store and have always been treated well. The workers know my name and are consistently friendly and helpful with great product knowledge.
Awesome place. Feels like a real music store. Great customer service.
I explained to them thoroughly what I needed and they sold me the opposite! It all about sells and f**k the customers needs! Stay away from the southside location!
I needed to buy instruments for my Middle School kids. They were very upfront with their prices and seemed to have the best deals.
No stars really. Not a very good merchant. Let someone use my credit card number without the card! Be careful!
Good service. Knowledgeable staff. Wish there was one closer to us!
Bought a pop filter and its freaking amazing! Helpful and friendly Customer Service.
I would use profane language, but it would not adequately describe the crap this company pulled. Basically, I took my brother to trade a PRISTINE first-owner amp, and we could prove it, in for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, used, which is of equal value....and my brother coughed up $100.I took off work to take him to initially buy the thing. I took off work to bring it in for repair when we discovered sticky crap on the power tubes, and I ended up working until 10PM thanks to these guys. They wanted me to take off work again, after having spent 5 hours in their store. I basically spoke up and said, he might be the customer, but Im the wheelman, and Im furious. I mentioned the fact of the wasted gas, wasted trips, and the at least 6 hours of driving they were expecting of me.They checked OUR amp out very thoroughly, and even treated my brother like a criminal, saying they are getting his DL in case he stole it. SERIOUSLY people....I tried to talk some business sense with them, asking them to do something for the trouble, and it would not have taken much. They said no. Then I asked if they can just reverse everything since ALL of the stuff was still in the store.... The guy made up a story of a law, which actually doesnt exist, then claiming he has to charge extra to reverse it all. Guitar Center evidently doesnt know about this (fake) law.Not ONLY that, but the smug, d-bag attitude that the guy gave me when pushing my brother, his CUSTOMER aside to say you dont think were trying to rip you off do you? He did this to put me on the spot, and tried to make me look like the bad guy.In the end, my brother spent another $170 to get a new model. In the end, he got what he wanted, but we are both appalled by how the guy behaved to our faces. Beware, their used gear has NO warranty, but they represented at sale that they would ensure the gear works if something went wrong like the day we get it... Well... it did.You dont take someones $700 amp + $100 and then give them junk, and not try to do something proper after dragging someone thru hell. Thats the bottom line. I tried more than the guy at this store. You wont catch us in that place again.Considering the tens of thousands that my brother spent with other companies, Bailey Brothers missed an opportunity... Not good business. Dishonest, rude, and outright condescending. Smiled at us when we expressed our frustration with the runaround....
Awesome store and great customer service.
Always has anything i need for backline company--lewis is best drum guy in town !!!!
This is the only location in alabama that sells Fretlight guitars. They range from beginner to pro.and the whole neck lights up with leds to teach you how to play.
Always tough to leave this place without bringing something home. Great selection, awesome staff.
Great experience at Bailey Brothers Music. Highly recommended.
A man asked for cheese
