We called and checked the prices this morning before we left the house and they were paying $7.50 on a 100. 20 cents for electric motors number one copper was 320 number two copper was $3 insulated with 75 cents aluminum cans it was 50 cents clean sheet aluminum was 50 cents they paid me $0.70 for insulated wire 45 cents for cans 45 cents for clean sheet. All total its only $3.50 youre going to say oh thats not nothing well $3.50 everybody that comes through that gate during the day thats $1,000 extra a day or more and theyre saying that my van slammed full only waiting 900 pounds and just to back seat of a Chevy Malibu weighed 120 I dont buy that so whats it standard is another scrap yard that will rip you off every chance they get so before they get you get them

Best scrap yard in the ham by far . Fair prices nice staff and the cleanest yard Ive ever been on absolutely no chance of getting a flat. You just may have to go around the train tracks right b4 you get to there yard but its always worth a little extra drive if necessary .

I have over the last couple days scrapped several cars and different things to get some of my property cleaned up and I had trouble with the place across the street because I had several cars stacked on top of each other n they wanted to see the vin numbers before I could unload them but they didn’t have any way to look at the vin’s while the cars were stacked on top of each other and just basically turned me away ... I went to standard and they helped me unload and take pictures of all the vin’s and gave me a better price... they will get all my business from now on

This place is THE scrap yard for Birmingham and surrounding areas and the ONLY place Ill go! Aside from paying top market $ for your scrap, they are extremely nice, knowledgeable and will explain anything you dont understand. I have been to other scrap yards and have felt burned after leaving and left wondering how much I would have got back if i had just waited and went to Standard. I took too many metals about a trailer load, after I finished dumping my metals, all I received 48$. They are not honest and play with your weights, and they cheat on the scale.I mentioned to my friend and he also experience the same problem.Take your business to SMA or brothers, so you wont get cheat on from standard.

When I showed up, they didnt give me a hard time about not knowing the routine with weighing and where to pull to unload the stuff. They were very helpful. I was in and out in no time. They even gave my kids suckers.

Called ahead, described what I had and the guy I talked to came out when I got there . he verified what I told him to be true and gave me exactly what we agreed upon. Honest folks and I even verified that the scales were correct by weighing before i went and weighing the pallets and barrels when I got back.
