A great place to get your tacos if you’re someone that understands Taco Momma is not a taco. πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Great tacos, tortas, etc.

Gordos has the absolute best authentic Mexican food in Birmingham! Everything on the taqueria menu is delicious. On the weekends they also serve up authentic Tacos Al Pastor sliced fresh off of the meat tornado. The market has a huge selection of great Mexican products and fresh produce. The bakery has tons of delicious pastries. If I could pick one place to eat and eat until I exploded this would be the place! What a way to go!

It’s been a while since I’ve left a review anywhere, but this place was definitely an exception. The food is so flavorful, and filling that it’s easy to eat it all in one sitting, but get any more than one thing, and you’ll have some difficulty putting it all down because you end up as Gordo β€œFat” and Happy really quick, after the first, second, third, etc. bite!I’m from Arizona, and it’s not often you find a place within a location that serves as authentic, cuisine from as close to home as you can, all the way out here in Birmingham, AL.I may not visit B’Ham often, but next time I stop through, you know where to find me!Kudos to all of you at Gordos!

Best, authentic tacos ever, especially al pastor (Saturdays only). Tortas and burritos are ridiculously generous and you have to stop in the bakery after your main course. Staff is friendly and service is quick but be warned this place is usually busy! Staff is bilingual so if you don’t speak Spanish, don’t let that stop you from going to Gordo’s.

I went in on a sat morning, there was a line but worth the wait, took less than 5mins to place my order. I ordered the small posole and a large togo, bill came out to right under $20. The posole itself was great, a tad bit salty for my taste but after adding lime and toppings, balanced out. Staff was very friendly, I speak Spanish so everything was ordered in Spanish, Im sure they speak English. Definitely going back to try their tacos, they looked incredibly good. Very authentic mexican vibes, highly recommend!

What a pleasant and much needed surprise Gordos has been. From my first phone conversation they were welcoming and accommodating and eager to serve their customer in any way they could. When I visited their store front to pick up my order every employee greeted me and welcomed me to their place. It was clean and fresh and felt like a village grocery store with its glass front meat display, fresh produce and shelves lined with provisions. I even received a follow up phone call yesterday asking how I enjoyed my order of breakfast tacos. This is the kind of business you want to see prosper and grow. Thanks for brightening my day.

Counter service but excellent food. This mom and pop grocery offers a good selection of traditional south of the border eats. The counter service is no frills but the servings are substantial. The only reason this isnt 5 stars is the limited seating and no water available on the day we visited. I would happily return it despite this.

Bakery, Market, and Grill - This place has a very high reputation with my friends and me. Food from the grill is genuine Mexican cuisine that will make your mouth water the second you walk through the door. Staff is polite and kind, food is ready at taco truck speeds, and the place is kept pretty clean. The Bakery is a delight too: competitively priced goods that taste so good you feel like a kid in a sweetshop. Cant speak for the Market section of the place too much as I mainly go for the Bakery and Grill. Bakery Items are paid for in the Market. Overall I really love this place and I eat here whenever Im in the area.Steak Tortas are to die for!

Gordos is an amazing authentic taqueria and carniceria with some of the most meats for tacos and tortas. Barbacoa, pastor, lengua, it has it all. The staff are so amazing and kind it feels like youre at a family gathering. When youve had your taco craving filled, you go up stairs to the panaderia and get some awesome chores or other pan dulce. Prices are very affordable and its all very filling. All in all, one of the best taco spots in Alabama
