Great location across the street from Railroad Park. Veggie Wraps, Frappes and Spanakopita is good for takeout. Had them several times. In the mornings on Sunday they have sweet and savory crepes. I like the Pepper Place building better. A very clean facility. Home made pop tarts are so good. Today I had the salted caramel latte, smoked Gouda grits and chocolate chip cookies. Coffee quality is always top. Peach muffins and Peanut Butter Banana Oat Bars are delicious and are baked from scratch.

Really good coffee, really BAD service! I visited Red Cat this morning at 7:40 am and it was moderately busy with about 10-12 customers. I ordered and paid at 7:44 am (two iced coffees and a breakfast burrito). I received my iced coffees at 7:57am and waited patiently for my burrito. With no check ins from the staff, I continued to wait but became anxious that maybe my burrito was forgotten about. I checked my payment to ensure I paid for a burrito and I did. Around 8:15, I asked a server about my order because I saw others that entered after me receive full orders. The server went to check and returned saying the cook was starting on my order next. That is outrageous to me that a food order was being started on 30 minutes after being ordered. I finally received my order at 8:30am, with no remorse or apology from the staff about the wait. I have visited this location several times and I’ve never experienced anything like this. The nonchalance from the staff was the most disappointing part of the entire experience.

Very busy place which is commendable. Food was good but seems premade or prepped and not fresh. I ordered 2 coffees, one medium and one large. They gave me 2 mediums. I asked and the young lady but she assured me that it was a large even though the cups were the same size. I didnt argue but this has happened to me before at this location. My advice is to double check your order and be very specific with the details. They couldnt get a large black coffee to go correct. Just saying.

Liked the environment. The staff was nice and knowledgeable of the coffee. The coffee is roasted in house and is exceptional. In addition, the prices were very reasonable. I havent tried the espresso there, but its well priced and having discussed the type of beans with the employees, it seems to me like the espresso would be much better than much anywhere else.Edit: I just had the espresso and it was absolutely brilliant. Staff is super nice. 10/10 will return. Cant speak for the pastries or whatever snacks they have though.

Great service, terrible coffee. Half dependent on the barista, but half just bad training/product. My most recent visit, I ordered a chai with an add shot. The flavor is non-existent. I found a literal coffee bean in my drink. It tasted like milk with a sprinkling of cinnamon. I got a chai another time, and it was somewhat better, but not great. Not worth spinning the roulette, go somewhere else and then bring your coffee to the park.

The cafe has a nice vibe to it; great place to get some work done. There was smooth jazz playing in the background. The staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. It got to be uncomfortable because the AC was on really high. It was 54 degrees outside and the temperature inside had to be around 60. I had my jacket and gloves on most of my time there and had to leave because my hands and feet were freezing.

We tried the Hibiscus and Honeybush iced teas. Both were good. My husband got the salami and pickle sandwich, which was delicious. I made the mistake of getting the mozzarella and basil sandwich, which was basically all melted mozzarella and two measly bits of tomato and basil. Won’t be getting that again if I come back. They’re a bit overpriced, IMO. I’ll give this place another shot sometime this summer and hopefully be more impressed.

This place gets a fifth star for essentially being the best cafe/coffee shop in Birmingham. I visited a number of them during my trip and this was the only local one that managed to have good drip coffee. Their espresso drinks were also good - and I appreciated the unique flavor combinations. On top of that they have great food - the breakfast biscuit was delicious as was the spanakopita. The space is really also open and you can hang out and have a conversation. Its right by the park too so you can visit it after.

Red Cat has always been one of my favorite places to go. And with this new location, its hard for me to not be there. It has such a fun vibe, all while being unique to their first location.Their coffees and smoothies will definitely have you addicted, and their menu is so tasty and different. They serve breakfast all day and crepes on the weekend. But the best part of Red Cat, still, is how amazing the people are. They are not pretentious or rude and actually love seeing you come in. Its rare to see people working in an environment like this and still be joyful. You wont leave here unhappy. So go.

My husband and I decided to patronize this business one afternoon after walking in the park across the street. The cashier was not friendly at all, she only greeted us after we spoke to her. I ordered a strawberry/mango smoothie but got a mango smoothie. My husband asked for water and purchased a peanut butter brownie. The cashier never got the water, therefore we had to ask for it again. We do not plan on ever patronizing this cafe again. It’s sad that when you walk into a building you can sense racism.

A feel-at-home friendly beanery with an urban vibe & a view! You can kick back, relax, and sip down a few shots of your preferred java while taking in the scenery of Railroad Park just across the street - or grab & go for a stroll yourself. Also, the coffee isnt the only great thing on the menu. They offer some delectable snacks, soups, and sandwiches as well.

This location is smaller and less cozy than the Pepper Place location, but the customer service is equally good. The superfood smoothie is excellent, as are the flavored lattes. The espresso is not palatable alone, which is why I take one star off. But the pumpkin-chocolate-chip muffins are absolutely my favorite muffin ever.

Always delicious, but my friend and I always seem to have a bad experience here. We waited a good 30 minutes for our two coffees. Understandably, it was busy. But then, the barista informed us that they were making the easier (Black) coffees first. I work in food industry, and making someone wait longer who got there first is unacceptable.

Red Cat is a full service coffee shop. Coffee drinks, fresh breakfast items, fresh lunch items, wi-fi, and a calm environment. Its everything you could want from a coffee shop. I find myself coming here very often for their Bengal Latte (dark chocolate and caramel.) - You can get their lattes hot, over ice, or in a blended frappuccino. Ive recently discovered that their lunch paninis are also quite good, and at a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend this location, especially if you work downtown.
