Just a wonderful experience. The atmosphere reminds one of a Seattle or NYC cafe. Hip, energetic, wonderful smells, kind people - just great beginning to end. Food & coffee were perfect. The avocado egg on a homemade biscuit were the perfect accompaniment to the coffee. Lattes and drip coffees were delicious and handmade. Look forward to many more experiences here. Thanks to Jay the owner and to all the staff for a great morning.
This place was wonderful. I had the honey cinnamon latte, the breakfast plate biscuit & gravy with arugula & lemon dressing. The latte was excellent, not overly sweet, just right. The gravy was made with bacon/sausage dripping and it was delicious, it paired nicely with the light, crisp arugula and lemon dressing.
I always get their coffee beans to grind at home, it’s my favorite roaster in Birmingham! They also have an amazing chai tea latte. I love the atmosphere and the workers.
Coffee was ok. They only serve single shots and all their drinks come in one smaller size. It wasnt horrible, but just not up to par with so many other coffee places. If youre looking for better tasting coffee, try filter down the road.
Seeds is a true hidden gem in Birmingham. The coffee is easily one of the best in town, the ingredients they use are carefully chosen and add such an amazing quality to their products, and the staff is so kind and welcoming. Their breakfast menu is also delicious, especially the sausage egg and cheese! If you are looking for a great cup of coffee and are anywhere near Seeds, do yourself a favor and make the trip!
The latte was crafted, in-house vanilla syrup, and delicious. Made me forget I was paying grande price for a tall size in Starbucks lingo. Also got a biscuit that would make grandma approve except for the thick cut bacon. Literal with the singular form (just the one), and metaphorical on the thick cut, maybe compared to a McDonalds strip? Otherwise well worth the cost.
Nice coffee shop with good service. Its a great place to study or work remote. Fast wifi, good air conditioning. Nice comfy outdoor seating as well.
I went here for the first time a year again by pure chance, ordered the Chai latte by recommendation from a lovely barista, and my life was changed forever! The drinks and atmosphere are worth the visit!
Great little spot serving up some hot delicious coffees. Plenty to choose from to each of his/her liking. Some very tasting baked goods to some Steel City ice creams for sell if not in the mood for just coffee. Very relaxed and laid back environment with some board games and some original Nintendo Entertainment Systems in the back for those feeling old school. Seasonal flavors are in such as the pumpkin spice latte. Very rich and smooth and very creaming to the taste and let’s not forgot pumpkin spices, delish. Get them while they’re hot. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs
Coffee is delicious and the food is good. It’s always packed which is a bigger issue in the winter as the inside is pretty small if you were trying to get a table or avoiding tight spaces during the pandemic. They have lots of outdoor seating that’s nice if the weather is good. They do have an online ordering system and outdoor pickup window. Process has always been smooth. Biggest issue I have with Seeds is that they sell out quickly on their food items.
Im not sure how someone can take something intangible like happiness and put it into a coffee cup, but Seeds has done it. The atmosphere is so inviting and relaxing! Turning an old gas station into a patio for a coffee shop is ingenious! The employees are super helpful and friendly, and of course the coffee is delicious! Check this place out if youre in town!
Wonderful coffee and biscuits! I visited this place after listening to my bf talk about it for months and it was worth the wait! I had a sparkling Chai and it was amazing.
Consistently great coffee. Also consistently pretty busy! All of the staff is lovely & very friendly.
Really cool spot with great coffee. Plenty of space indoor and out and friendly staff.
Roasts are on lighter side. Nice flavors lattes. Good biscuits/scones. Friendly staff
Service is excellent. People are very nice. The coffee is consistently good. I have been here several times and its always good.
Staff service is great, coffee are tasty, and everything is just sooo good!!
Stumbled on this place by accident and fell in love. Amazing prices and quality. The venue itself is so cute and repurposed that I would easily pay much more just for the atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff and lots of seating in all forms. If you love a cute coffee shop then this is the place for you. I love it so much!
These guys are coffee extraction experts. Thier method making iced coffee is genius. They get the strength of traditional iced coffee with the smoothness of a coldbrew. Head to this place now, chill hipster coffee shop. The outdoor seating setup is perfect for social distancing and getting some work done. Cha latte is good too. Great friendly staff. Will be stopping here again soon
I had the best pourover here! It was the Colombia natural process. Highly recommend!!
Excellent coffee, excellent staff, excellent food.I’ve been a regular for over a year now and the quality has been consistently exceptional every time. They keep adding new items and the recent remodel is so cozy and warm.Go to order? Iced oat milk cappuccino and a biscuit with honey butter 😋
Coffee is tremendous. The breakfast though is a hidden gem. Nothing here I wouldnt recommend 100 times over!
Hands down best coffee shop in town! Some of the absolute best people who work there!
Stopped here passing through the city. Cappuccino was very nice and they sell beans from Laos as well! Really interesting and unique. The barista said that the shop has a family relationship with the farmer there. Very cool stuff. The beans brewed up nicely in an aeropress.
Wow, best Americano I have ever had and I consider myself a coffee fanatic! This is one of the best coffee houses I have ever been to and I travel extensively. Super impressed and cannot wait to go back on my next trip to Birmingham!
I liked the atmosphere and the space created for people who wanted to study or work on whatever project they had to do.
Enjoyable food, great coffee. Best to avoid rush hour, but thats the same just about everywhere.Ive heavily edited this review. I went some time ago and had a poor experience, and I think that was largely due to rush hour. For example, I asked for pourover drinks but got batch-brews, and that may have been due to my mask muffling my voice and lots of background noise. After the owners feedback, I decided to go back when it was less busy and the baristas had adequate time. Wow. Best espressos Ive had in years, good Kalita Wave brews, and honestly very enjoyable food. I noticed their water system, too. Good stuff.
Amazing staff. Their biscuits are THE best.
Best coffee in Birmingham! Seeds has a great, affordable menu with a kind and helpful staff. It also is a great stop for breakfast - the biscuits are out of this world!
Cozy Coffee Spot Serving Tasty Hancrafted Hot or Cold Java.Great Place To Visit, Work or Study!
This place absolutely rules. Best coffee in town, scones are out of this world and the owners and staff are so pleasant and probably some of the best in Birmingham. Love seeds!!
Very nice outdoor seating. The coffee tasted amazing. They were really busy when I went.
Lovely atmosphere and iced coffee!
Why plastic for dining in?? Its not sustainable. Maybe the name should be trash or landfill rather than Seeds.
The honey cinnamon latte was really, really good. The pumpkin spice scone was decent. The service was mediocre, however the employee was quick to fix an error with the change she gave me. The atmosphere was noisy at the time I was in there, but had a family-friendly bohemian vibe. Based on the coffee alone it’s definitely 5 stars worthy, and that’s primarily why I went.
Seeds is a great place to relax while doing work the coffee is perfectly brewed I just love the seasonal scones they are perfect w avocado and eggs will go back
Best Coffee and People. Love this place.
We had a wonderful lunch/dinner at this location.
Very accommodating with COVID restrictions. Love the giant covering for outside seating. Cortado milk was a bit too hot and bit too foamy, but their coffee still has great taste. Sister had a specialty latte that she enjoyed.
Lovely staff, great atmosphere, and above all else, great coffee!
Love their iced coffee. Cute little shop. Great service.
The food is fabulous and I’ve never been disappointed.
Seeds is perfect for meetings and studying. No one bothers you for staying an extended time. Nevertheless, this causes me to spend more. Seeds has great coffee and pasties. What I really appreciate is the unlimited self-serve water. There is a side patio and front, intimate tables and a few huge tables, if you don’t mind sharing your space.Nice place to meet someone new. However, each time I have been there...I’ve been quite focused, as well as others. All this place needs is more parking.
I was doing a delivery there.
Literally stop what you are doing and get some coffee here. Take one look at there in-house, reverse osmosis water purification system and never get coffee anywhere else again.
This is my favorite coffee shop in Birmingham. It is a great place for studying or for catching up with a friend over coffee. Plenty of seating ranging from tables, high top tables, couches, etc. They even have outdoor seating.Coffee is great. All is made to order and pour over. Only downside to that is there is only 1 size (12 oz)
I like their theme and coffee seeds.
Seeds is my go-to coffee shop. Everyone there is so kind & chill & the atmosphere is perfect. Wish I could find their playlist on Spotify!! The vibe is almost as good as the coffee, & I genuinely couldn’t ask for a more favorite coffee shop to choose for the past 5 years I’ve lived in BHam for! Also : the toast with goat cheese & pepper jelly is to *die* for!
Fantastically delicious coffee! You cant order bad coffee here, its just impossible. Good prices and quality service (shout-out to Ethan for makin my cup o joe) 🤙🏼Currently remodeling the inside, lookin real nice!
Fantastic single origin pour over coffee.
Coffee aficionados, look no further than Birminghams own seeds coffee. This place is crawling with culture and good company. The coffee here is stellar and on point each time I taste it. Espresso, pour-over, latte, or whatever you desire, they will make it taste great with a great attitude
The best coffee in Birmingham!
It was roasting day so they were all out of bags of coffee for sale. They also dont use vanilla, but maple brown sugar which turned out to be pretty delicious. Prices were right on and the baristas were really friendly.
A very laid back coffee shop. They have a lot of different options for breakfast. Biscuits, scones, cookies, muffins, cereal, yogurt etc. and the coffee is high quality. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Their staff are very friendly and welcoming. This is my new go-to place!
This cool little hipster coffee bar is tucked in just the right location. You can pop into here for a quick study break or meeting and be back on the interstate without any fuss. The coffee is all named after the village or place it comes from and the staff are super helpful in picking the right Cortado. The vibe is exactly what you should expect too. Theres even an old school Super Nintendo for the kiddos (or adults) to play.
Great place to work or meet friends. Love the vibe! Good to know--all expressos are double shots, so dont order a double unless you want a quadruple! 😵The staff is friendly and courteous.
Plenty of space and places to park. The staff are really cool and nice. The whole place feels like it is serving a real purpose rather than being fake. There are bookshelves with books to read and there are cool local items for sale too. Coffee is very good. I dont even have a sufficiently developed palate to appreciate the different brews. Its pretty cool.
Great chill atmosphere. My caramel latte with oat milk was phenomenal. Great place to study or for impromptu meetings
One of the best cups of coffee Ive had in Birmingham. I asked what their seasonal coffee was and went with their recommendation (honey and cinnamon latte). Great call. They have a unique location and environment, and they have plenty of seating. They also have a good nitro cold brew available. Definitely worth dropping by and giving a try.
Good coffee, good people, chill vibes! I like Seeds a lot, if I lived nearer to it, Id frequent more often. I met there for a small writers club and it was the perfect place that. Also perfect for some reading or writing.
Great looking place! Lots of support for local music! Its a real community spot. The place was pretty full but not obnoxiously so. My coffee was great. Only downside is, with such a focus on quality they slow drip every cup. Thats great, but it took a while to get a cup of coffee. I wont go here if Im ever on a hurry. But i will come back if I have the time to spend. Thanks Seeds!
One of my favorite places to get some reading done! I dont live nearby but I cant find any comfortable places to read without being pressured to leave or order more. I wish Seeds had more options other than coffee/tea but love them regardless!
Good coffee. Weve been buying their beans for espresso at home for a while now.
Honey Cinnamon Latte was spectacular and the guys were so Awesome, cant wait to back!
This place is amazing. We stopped here on our road trip and had the best Alabama hospitality. All of the staff were extremely friendly and genuine people. The Uganda coffee was delicious along with the chocolate mint tea latte. The beans are freshly roasted in house. They also have a cool outdoor patio and a lounge area to play video games.
I look forward to stopping here once a year when we are traveling on vacation. I wish I lived closer. Generous with coffee knowledge, and gave some excellent recommendations for other premium coffee shops along our route. And of course we got to enjoy some fantastic coffee as well.
These folks know coffee. Its one of the few places around town where I truly feel like they have trained and studied the art of roasting, brewing, and pouring coffee. Milk is always steamed properly (a rarity around here). Regular coffee is made to order. Each shot of espresso is pulled meticulously.
Extremely nice staff. Very chill atmosphere. Lots of tables/seating and plenty of wall jacks to plug your laptops in. They also have outdoor seating, too! Coffee is also outstanding. My new favorite coffee shop in Birmingham.
Seeds is unique. I love how it tries to be itself but it is basically the embodiment of a millennial coffee shop. Opens late and stays open late. Sometimes the Baristas are fast. Sometimes they get overwhelmed.Music at night is usually fairly Open Mic level but it is a fun environment if that is your thing. Very college-age crowd. The coffee is good but you can get good coffee for less money at other places in town at other snazzy coffee shops. This place gets a lot of people in and out for business but the truth is its a great place to make your regular stop.Since it is a retrofitted gas station the seating outside is awesome assuming the weather is good.
Great cool atmosphere. My pumpkin latte with goat milk was fantastic. Great place to read or for spur-of-the-moment meetings
Seeds has a welcoming, laid back atmosphere in a beautiful setting. If you look around, you see people from all walks of life studying, reading, chatting with friends, or taking in the music playing and the wonderful smell of coffee while enjoying their drinks and snacks. Their coffee is ethically sourced, roasted on site, and absolutely wonderful. Their teas are delicious, too. The staff is helpful and cheery. And the brown butter donuts are worth every calorie. My favorites are the Chocolate Mint Tea Latte and the traditional Latte. For just coffee, the Brazilian and Ethiopian blends come highly recommend. And I plan to try the Nitro Cold Brew on my next visit. I wish I lived close to Seeds, because I would make it a regular part of my weekdays I if I did.
Seeds has an incredible staff and great coffee!
Excellent locally owned and roasted coffee. The quality of the coffee and attention to detail is evident. Be prepared to wait a bit for your coffee, especially if you choose a more involved brewing method...but thats half the fun. Plenty of seating and even an NES with a lot of old school games to play in a comfortable corner of the shop.
Seeds is one of my favorite places to meet up with my adult children in Birmingham. We love stopping here to fuel up on delicious drinks as we are passing through. Its so convenient to I-65...easy to find.
This place has really good coffee and very chill service. For those coffee nerds out there, it is what is considered third wave coffee. For their manual brews they currently do pour overs with a Kalita Wave. And they have 3-4 single origins for you to choose from.
Staff is always inviting and relaxed. The living music is always excellent. Coffee is consistent and high quality. Price is average for a coffee house. Environment is relaxed and peaceful.
Great coffee
Visiting from out of town I saw this was a favorite. Coffee was outstanding... But unfortunately the service was not great. I got a dumb look and a sarcastic response when I asked what their most popular drink was. Another employee gave me a hard time when I was trying to find the bus bin. Not worth $6 and the grief for a coffee. Wont go back nor recommend it.
Awesome place! One of the guys who helped start the shop was serving us, and he was really helpful, knowledgeable, and made a great latte. Their whole process of making coffee, from sourcing beans, to roasting, to brewing, seems well thought through and intentional. The vibe is great too.
The coffee is amazing. The staff was super friendly. The place is beautiful, with one o the best patios in the entire city. Its close to a beautiful park. Give it a shot. Great place for studying, one-on-one meetings, relaxing, and most of all, enjoying fantastic coffee.
Friendly staff, excellent drinks and pastries, and they support the coffee farmers in a really incredible way.
Friendly service. Laidback atmosphere—good for studying or working alone or with a group. There is also a semi-separate room that is more kid-friendly. The coffee is consistently good.
The coffee is outstanding. The staff are very kind and considerate, and they truly care about every drink they make. Great place to meet good people. Excellent place to study. Always improving. Love it.
Their espresso is great. Very flavorful. Wish it had been served with sparkling water though. The drip was probably the best Ive had in bham so far. Feel of the place seems a little outdated, but the outdoor seating is great and abundant.
Really like their coffee and friendly service. Had a very tasty blueberry scone today. Plan to try their teas soon, they have a large selection.
