Excellent service and great atmosphere, but the food prices are simply outrageous. For what I paid for a small sandwich without any chips, sides or a drink, I could have gotten a full nap-worthy meal at the place across the street.

Food & drinks were great. Location was very clean & had a 100 health score posted. Workers were nice & helpful. We had the waffle omelet, waffle biscuits with sausage, white chocolate hot chocolate, Java Chip Jtizpuccino & Ashunti Way Smoothie. Id recommend any of these & Im looking forward to my next trip.

Found this gem by word of mouth then saw some deals on Groupo which really piqued my interest. I am not a fan of the large coffee corporations so this local shop sounded like a good place to try. We had the vanilla latte with a shot of caramel and the Jtizpuccino which were both very good. The owners were both very personable and they showed how much they cared about their craft. I will definitely be going back to try the pastries and food cause it all looked great but whenever I want some coffee in Birmingham, Jtiz will be towards the top of the list.

Pretty sure the owner took my order when I visited for the first time today and she was kind and RADIANT! The place has a good menu (lots of stuff) and my white chocolate caramel latte was yummy. Boyfriend liked his coffee drink too and the care both ladies took to make the drinks was really nice, dont always see that. Fun space too -- if our pups werent in the car, would have played a game of chess! Going to try the Groovy Louy smoothie out next time, sounds great. Go visit!

I dropped i to this Gem and boii was i amazed and so happi to see a black owned coffee and Smoothie bar in Tarrant.. i ordered the Early bird gets the worm and sweet baby moses.. yep thats the one.. they also serve sammiches and waffles and pastries.. the cutest thing tho is the build in chess tables.. yea.. i could eat here daily!!

Whew!! I loooove this place. I stopped in to grab some something to eat before my appointment at NailToepia. I had the Cuban sandwich and I was concerned about that honey mustard at first. When I took a bite into that sandwich I closed my eyes so tight that sandwich was GOOOOD! The bread was fluffy, the meat was nicely heated. It was really good and the atmosphere was clean, everyone was friendly. I’ll definitely be back!!

Stopped by for lunch and was challenged to a game of chess by a staff member that along with the kindness of the rest of the staff makes this a place I would eat at every day of I lived in the area

Very nice place. Chessboards on every table (tournament standard sets, no less). Smoothies good, a bit on the icy side. Have to go back for coffee, a waffle and a pickup game.

Pretty good food. You can tell its a startup business and its trying to get its feet under it. Staffing is very minimal and so there is a little bit of a wait.They need to get a system down that is repetitive and I think the more they repeat it, the better they will get and the more efficient they will be.

Sandwich and smoothies were delicious but boba was way underdone and not good.

Super friendly staff. Very clean interior with comfy booths and tables. Currently, the shop is a bit hard to find because there’s not a large sign outside, but if you go to the address it’s definitely there. 😉 My smoothie was very satisfying, not too sweet or too fruity at all, which I like. Next time I might try a coffee and/or waffle.

My husband and I started our Sunday off with breakfast and smoothies. He had a delicious waffle with bacon inside and I had the veggie tortilla wrap accompanied with a peanut butter chocolate smoothie and a groovy mango smoothie. The taste was very satisfying to our taste buds. So take a drive over to Tarrant and enjoy a game of Chess while sipping on a smoothie.

Always look forward going here because of the friendly staff, delicious food, and fun atmosphere. The owner of J ti`z loves a good game of chess and has various boards throughout the tables to pass the time and have some fun.Their menu is pretty expansive too and features all kinds of drinks from teas and smoothies to coffees and jti`zpaccinos. They also have a good selection of sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. My personal favorite is the Summer Time smoothie, but it wouldnt surprise me if they added something new to the menu.As a resident, J ti`z is a great addition to Tarrant and much needed in the city. Happy to have them!
