Best coffee shop in Birmingham. They have the best coffee and kindest workers. I love to study and catch up with friends here. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and fun. It’s the best! I crave Baba Java coffee!

Baba Java Coffee shop is a wonderful new coffee shop. They call it a Roaster and Cafe. They source and roast their own coffee beans. In addition to excellent coffee there is a variety of baked goods and other foods available. I must say it is an excellent cup of java and the apple strudel was very good as well. This was my first visit and I love the place. The store is a clean well lighted place. The service is friendly and ready to serve you with a smile I highly recommend Baba Java!

Best Iced Latte Ive ever had. I drink alot, I mean ALOT, of coffee. The quality, flavor, and freshness of the espresso they use is second to none. I strongly recommend giving Baba Java a try. Will continue to go back!!

Came by our neighborhood and have $1 drip coffees! Cutest little airstream set up and very friendly people! Oat milk cappuccino was heavenly:)

Lovely little coffee shop with friendly staff, clean atmosphere, fair prices, and a great product. Id recommend a Cortado or their Turkish coffee, which is a unique experience you wont find at many other places!

Oh how I love this place!! Great coffee and I heard they have a great brownie. People are SUPER friendly and there is even a couch if you want to chill and enjoy your coffee.

Between the fantastic coffee equipment, friendly, talented staff, and tasty food, its hard to be disappointed here, unless you exclusively love very light or dark roasts. The Turkish coffee is excellent and the prices are extremely reasonable. Love the atmosphere too!

I had no idea this place was here and I have lived here for 8 years. It is a great coffee shop with real coffee! You have to trythis place. It is right next door to 5 guys burgers in Hoover.

I’ve ridden by Baba Java so many times and kept thinking I needed to go there next time I wanted a specialty coffee. I finally went and wish I had gone sooner! It’s a great place to get a regular coffee, tea or specialty coffee and juices and other choices too. They have a pastry/bakery menu as well with muffins, scones (plain and different flavors like hame & cheese-yummy) and other treats. I like that they have a chart which explains the difference between espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, etc - very helpful although staff very knowledgeable and ready to describe. Staff was very friendly and sincere. The decor is trendy yet cozy, although we sat outside; they do have tables outside. I’ll be back - I really like Baba Java!

Just the FRIENDLIEST service, so helpful and informative! A fantastic selection of fresh baked goods and accompaniments- the lemon bar and baked donuts were yummy. I was excited to try their Turkish coffee, served traditionally with a date. I was delighted! The flavors of the coffees and teas that they are skillfully roasting are enhanced by their drink crafters who know the proper times to steap tea leaves and how to make the most flavorful coffees!! I am so thrilled to find this gem!! Please go experience Baba Javas lovely flavors for yourself!!!

I really like this coffee shop. Clean space with good coffee. The high rating comes from the quality coffee and the always (in my experience) friendly staff. The only reason it didnt have 5 stars is due to the seating/chill space. Just doesnt fully capture that coffee house ambiance that makes me want to stay there for hours on end. I will continue to frequent vigorously.

I’m a coffee nut, recently had to move on from being a barista, and now I’m visiting home from Seattle.It’s legit. They also have Turkish coffee which is super rare in the South :)Teas are from Piper and Leaf and Chai is from Sachai, very well known and delicious tea makers! Just go.

Great local coffee shop. They roast coffee beans in house. Super comfy and cozy inside if you want to hang out to work, study, or just relax with friends. The prices are comparable to Starbucks prices. They also offer baked goods and some other small food items from local restaurants and bakeries.

Best coffee shop in Birmingham period! The staff is always so friendly, and coupled with a cozy atmosphere, you feel right at home. The lattes are excellent. They always have fun specials for the different seasons. In the summer, I love their orange latte, iced. For something a little different, try their honey habenero latte!

Beautiful little shop. The Turkish coffee and the pimento savory scone were delicious. If you are visiting oak mountain state park this is a good little place for coffee!

This is an absolutely awesome coffee shop with a great variety of brews and brewing styles as well as a great selection of some hard to find (and standard) coffee home brewing equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It is a nice place to relax and have some excellent coffee.

Nice independent coffee shop. I drove past this place for a few months before I went in. Glad I did. We go at least once a week now. My husband loves the Turkish coffee and I am trying the different lattes. Honey Habenero and Orange Apel are my favorites so far. Love that they serve desserts from local businesses. Nice people and nice space.

Baba Java has by far been my favorite coffee shop in Hoover pretty much since it opened. I love the atmosphere, it’s well lit and comfy, and the camel decor is 👌🏻. All the baristas are just such friendly and enjoyable people. Seriously. In this regard, it tops any other coffee shop I’ve been to by a mile. They also roast their own coffee in house, and let me tell you, it is delicious. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Love this place, these people, and their coffee. Will continue to go here for the foreseeable future and would recommend it to anyone and everyone else! You won’t be disappointed.

This has been the best tasting coffee Ive had in the last few years. Ultra smooth and flavorful. Not too bitter and not too sweet. An absolutely enjoyable coffee and experience in store. I especially loved the honey habanero. You wont regret coming here.

Was in the area this morning, so glad I chose to stop here. They were very nice and the savory roll I had was amazing. They made a great mocha for me as well. A bit far from home, but will find a way to visit again.

They offer roast their own coffee from multiple countries to medium roast. They offer drip and pour overs as well as other drinks. Definitely a third wave coffee shop.Their service is very friendly and they have plenty of seating options. Parking is also not an issue.

This is honestly my favorite coffee shop in Birmingham --- the team there is absolutely fabulous and their brews are delicious (seriously, Ive tried 4 different featured drinks, and theyve all been amazing). If youre looking for a place to work, the atmosphere here is comfortable, wifi is great, & there are plenty of places to plug in your laptop. My husband and I are both small business owners, so the fact that they are also so big on supporting other small businesses means a lot!

They always make my visit enjoyable and are very knowledgeable in explaining their coffee options and roasts to me. I had a Nitro today and it was the frothiest, smoothest coffee I’ve ever had. Their bagged coffee is also great for brewing at home. I have brewed it fresh for events at my church and at home. They are the only coffee shop in Birmingham that does Turkish coffee (to my knowledge) and they’re worth checking out for that alone!

From the perspective of COVID, my wife is pregnant so we are taking every precaution. While the store was a little bit busy with lots of patrons not wearing masks, the moment the employees saw us walk in wearing masks, they put on masks themselves which helped us feel much more at ease and really honored.The store and bathrooms are very nice and clean.Apart from COVID: The employees were super friendly and knowledgeable about their drink selections, and, Ill be honest, we absolutely loved the drinks. Some of the best London fog teas and dirty chai lattes we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Wow It’s hard to know where to begin.The atmosphere is beautiful and comfortable. Just makes you want to sit down with a good book and sip on coffee all day. I had the Yemen pour over and it was probably THE most delicious and flavorful black cup of coffee I’ve ever had and I have tried all of the roasters in Birmingham. I didn’t get the pastries this time but they looked amazing.Talked with Brad the owner and he is a great guy who is passionate about quality of product and service, so I know they will go far.Keep it up guys. You will see me again.

Internet, some tables and chairs some sofas. Selection of snacks limited, setup a bit weird since the order here is in the far corner with little space to stand in line. All smiles barristas make ordering and picking up enjoyable but a 12 oz Latte for $4.75 is too high to put this on my list.

Great staff, I described the flavor profile I wanted, and they steered me towards the iced vanilla latte, it’s been my favorite drink since!Edit: 2 years on from the original review, this shop and the people who work there have been amazing, I have not ever had a bad experience at Baba Java. The people who work there are exceedingly good at what they do and the coffee is excellent. I’m looking forward to many more years of great coffee and impossibly good service.

Just paid $9 for two large(these are medium size at best) coffees. The coffee is not great or good. I feel like I just got ripped off.......UPDATE....after my Wife yelled at my for buying nasty and over priced coffee and taking this down to one star.

I was referred to this cafe by a custom cafe. I came here on the weekends. Super quite in the morning but as afternoon rolled in, it got busy. This place is big, with open space compare to Starbucks, and very cozy environment. The coffee here is great and so are their pastries. The prices are within range, comparable to other coffee shops. They do have free wifi. I would definitely recommend this place.

Wow!!! What a wonderful staff and incredible coffee. It is truly a different environment and it is not your typical every day coffee like most options within a 5-10 mile radius. I highly suggest you pay them a visit and try out the various organic, delicious options they have. Support local businesses!!!

Went 3 days in a row during their soft launch week and it was fantastic. Brad, Wendi, and the whole crew are fantastic! The coffee is consistent and delicious. I highly recommend the Yemen and Ethiopia roasts. The location is super inviting and comfortable. Also, as someone who works remotely, I really appreciate the adequate WiFi and the abundance of power outlets and USB A and C outlets for device charging. A very nice touch!
