I have been taking my cars here for years now. I live in North Shelby County and its worth it to me to make the drive to Element to get things taken care of. Ed and the crew do high-quality work. They dont do anything unnecessary and they dont cost an arm and a leg. Ill always take any automotive work to these folks.

I’ve looked for years to find a place in Birmingham (much less anywhere) that takes care of your car and that would be willing to work on my 2010 Subaru Outback. Edwin took out and put back a VBA 3 times to make sure it was the correct fix since my car was throwing some arbitrary codes. It’s been a year and no problems shifting! These people are awesome. Yvonne at the front desk even knows her cars and is very nice. I would highly recommend this shop. They’re extremely honest, to the point where i trust them completely and will DEFINITELY be taking my car back when it needs more work done. Thank you so much!

Best car repair shop. Edwin cares about your issues and repair it with reasonable price. I couldn’t find any shop in BHM to repair my front end issue, spent about $3K in 2 yrs, maybe 7 garage repair shops. Edwin figured it out in couple of days and fixed it next day.

Folks are just great. Always very competent, quick, and reasonable. Great to have them in town, too, since they specialize in a lot of random cars (Saab, Volvo, Subaru, etc.) that have brand-specific tools.

Edwin & Drew educate you when they repair your vehicle. If they tell you something needs to be replaced. Then it is necessary, they dont tell you something is wrong when it isnt.

Edwin did great work on my van. Affordable and quick. When another unrelated issue cropped up a couple of years later I called him and discussed my problem. Instead of having me come in he recommended a simple repair I do myself. He was dead on and saved me the wad of cash I’d have paid for the tow and the repair. Thanks man.

I almost never write reviews but felt compelled after my fantastic experience with Edwin and Element Garage. When I called Edwin spent 20 minutes over the phone trying to help me diagnose the problem with my Saab 9-3 and giving tips on things to try on my own. He then quoted me over the phone about what it might cost depending on the actual issue. He offered that if I could find cheaper parts online that hed use those. He said hed rather take a look first to see what was really needed. Once he looked at the car he suggested that we do a very inexpensive repair and the car has been great since. I told him I often work on the car myself and he said I could call him any time if I ran into trouble and hed do what he could to help over the phone. I have NEVER been shown this kind of attention at an auto shop. Prices were totally reasonable and I will be taking all my cars to Element garage as long as I live in Bham.

I cant sing Edwins praises loudly enough. Finding someone who knows their way around a Subaru in the south (without paying dealership prices) is like finding water in the desert. Add in that hes honest about the difference between what you need right now and what you might need later, his prices are great, and hes just a really nice dude--it doesnt get much better.Even though the secret is apparently out on how awesome Edwin is, and he was booked solid for weeks when my Forester recently decided not to start anymore, he went out of his way to squeeze me into his busy schedule. Hes done quite a few repairs at this point, and they have all been complete successes. Im a customer for life.

Told me 1 yr ago (20k miles ago)that head gaskets on my Saab were blown needed replacing $3500 repair job. Took it to another shop who replaced my water pump . Car runs fine. I forgot when you replace the head gaskets on a Saab you also replace the water pump as part of the job

Too bad there isnt 10 stars. Edwin and Element Garage is a place where you can trust that your car will be repaired correctly at a very fair price. I drive a 1974 BMW 2002 and I have never brought it to a garage before until I had something I couldnt fix myself. Edwin was someone I knew I could trust the car with. He not only did a great job, he found a couple of other maintenance items and got them done for me too. He is going to be my go to guy for anything automotive.

Ive lived in Birmingham for almost five years and have never found a good mechanic for my Volvo. My wife found Element Garage online and we took my XC70 in to get the control arm replaced. Edwin had it fixed in a day for about $300 less than what other places had quoted me. He also found an issue that will most likely save me several thousand dollars down the line. He seems incredibly knowledgeable on both Vovlos and Saabs and hes a super nice guy and does quality work.I only wish I had found this place earlier because Ill be going here from now on.
