My wife, daughter and I stopped in for dinner. My daughter had a swim meet the next day and was looking for pasta, unfortunately we came in on a non pasta night. The waiter explained the entire menu and told us how good everything was. I told the waiter my daughter didn’t like anything on that days menu and we were content on just having shrimp cocktail and a couple of cocktails. The waiter immediately took offense and walked away from the table without saying a thing. He returned with our shrimp cocktail and drinks. He had a passive aggressive attitude towards us the rest of the visit. When he brought our bill it was $59 for two gin and tonics ($18 each) and the shrimp cocktail ($20). The money was not the issue but our experience was horrible. It was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We were made to feel very uncomfortable and the attitude we received was like “how dare you” say you don’t want to eat our food.I have gone to very elegant steak houses and spent $300 for a meal. We never paid $18 per drink and we’re made to feel so poorly. The food is probably good but the waiter we had was absolutely the worst. He made our experience awful. Would never recommend this place.
We recently hosted a pre-wedding family and friends dinner at The Marisol. This business is making it’s comeback from COVID-19 and did a splendid job of serving our group of 22 despite not having served such a large group in over a year. Scott, Heather and the waitstaff were very accommodating and took special effort to locate the wines that we wanted to serve that evening. The menu selections were varied and took into account the dietary requirements of our entire group - vegan, vegetarian, gluten-intolerant. I will also add that the quality, preparation and presentation of the food was outstanding. The staff was able to advise us on ingredients and allergens when needed. Our water glasses were never empty and the wines were enjoyed by all. Then there was dessert! There were several selections that evening and none of them disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a fine dining venue in the Greensboro area.
Overall dining experience was very good. Service was responsive and new the menu well.Good quality was high and tasted excellent. I had the salmon pate for app and osibuco for entree. Both were very nice, I had the opportunity to try the house sausage app. Would highly recommend that if you are a sausage fan. It was excellent.Decor was a bit dark as prior reviewers noted and seating a bit tight for robust customers.Look forward to returning to try the Salmon Wellington, sold out this evening.11/2018 VisitStill love this place, had a wonderful dinner and experience with my son and good buddy this evening.
We started with the gnocchi which was French in style, absolutely amazing. After that it was onto a very generous bowl of crab and lobster bisque (ordered two should have just shared one). For our entree my friend had the half duck and I had the lamb. Just wonderful and delicious! Sweet and attentive hosts!
Really elegant and clean. The food is amazing. Me and my family love it here!
Great experience! Very personalized. Chef prepared vegetarian option and extremely creative dish in a jiffy since we are vegetarian.Definitely an encore!
Ive been here 9 times. Every single time was amazing. The food is just superb, and not what you expect from the location. This is simply the finest restaurant in Greensboro.
Weve heard about the nice little restaurant, Marisol, for years and yet never tried it. Now I know what everyone is talking about! You really must give them a try if you are looking for a special occasion or a romantic dinner. The menu features so many fresh and local options that youll have a hard time choosing....we enjoyed an amazing appetizer featuring risotto and lobster. I had a caeser salad with flash fried oysters that was out of this world and my friend enjoyed a perfectly prepared wedge salad. For the entrees we enjoyed a fresh shrimp plate and perhaps the best prepared lamb dish Ive ever eaten. Paired with a Silverado Merlot, I cant remember a better combination.
Nice ambiance and good service. The wait staff was attentive. I had the duck. It was superb. Also had bread pudding for dessert and it was really good as well.
Marisol is a fine dining classic in Greensboro!Love going there and we are there for date night every 6-8 weeks. We love the fried shrimp appetizer. Great wine selection! 3 different freshly made bread to choose from. For salad, the organic or goat cheese salad. The salad are large and definitely shareable. The staples on the menu are filet, duck and lamb with variations on sauce and sides. There are plenty of appetizer specials and entree specials. If they have veal chops, we would get that. For dessert, all their different bread puddings are great. Our favorite waiter is Heather!
The herbs, spices, and accoutrements used in each dish to realize the full flavor experience of the main food item ( fish, liver, salad...) was incredible. This was not a meal but a flavor experience. Our dining adventure lasted 3 hours! Hats off to the chefs, waitstaff, and manager for an amazing evening!
I want to start by saying that the service was superb, then move on the the atmosphere because it alone, did not warrant the crazy expensive prices. I mean....$17 for a martini? That is NY or Miami prices and this place in a strip mall with its decor and feel are a far cry from an experience in either one of those cities. I know, I have lived in both. Apps are abut $18-20, meals $32 and up and desserts $10. With tip we left there having spent just shy of $200. food was fresh and well prepared, I just did not walk out of there feeling as if it was worth the price.
Excellent service excellent food Can’t wait to come back
Absolutely outstanding service. Our waitress has an outstanding rote memory - the way she was able to recite the long list of specials was incredible. We went for the full Monty and enjoyed a 5 course meal complimented with drinks and wine. The menu selections were innovative and delectable.
The best dining experience ever. Every dish is a treat and the staff is the best!
Outstanding. It couldnt be any better.
The food was delicious and the service was extra special.. Nice romantic. environment. I will be returning very soon
Quality Meals, yeah, awesome. One of the best spots in the area. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. Prices that wont break you.
I have been eating here for years. By far the one of the best restaurants in the Triad! Heather is a fantastic server. The food quality is fantastic. Different items on the menu every time. I have taken many friends and family there over the years and always walked out satisfied!!!
Very nice place for drinks or date night. I like the ambiance and the food and service were terrific. I’d definitely come back when i come back to.
Had a lovely first experience here last night. We started with their crab bisque, seared tuna and homemade sausage for appetizers. They were all great, especially the sausage! We shared a bottle of the Riesling and also sampled their foccacia bread which was full of flavor! For the entrees, I got the salmon with honey soy glaze and my husband opted for the mahi mahi. We both loved all that we ordered and the service was top notch.
Service is just awesome! Food was great too! Will definitely go back. Hubby had the duck and I had the veal...both were exquisite!
Outstanding food and service. Attention to detail with the food. Wait staff can regurgitate (without notes) amazingly.Great for a splurge or special occasion. Pricey but worth it.
Great food, wonderful staff, plus a group of weekend regulars that are charming folks who pride themselves on being kind and hospitable to travelers. Trina at the bar is a gem, quick with a smile and very attentive. Love Marisol!
Unbelievable food and service totally unexpected in the place 100% Sleeper restaurant only known by those who get it!
This is the best place to eat in the Triad and probably the most expensive. You will pay for it but the food is simply exquisite. Definitely put this on your list when looking for that place for a special night out.
The food is good but expensive. The service was disappointing. My husband and I were treated differently than other tables. After stating we did not want appetizers, the waiter completely changed his attitude towards us and only revisited our table to check on us once after our meal arrived. The descriptions of the verbal menu were not as detailed to us, as they were to other tables. Despite spending over $100 I feel that more attention was paid to those who were older and ordered starters or bottles of wine. I doubt we will be back, the experience is not worth the price.
Best food, best drinks, best atmosphere, best people, simply the best. And Trina is the gold standard of service!
Fabulous food & service. Best restaurant in the triad!
The best restaurant in Greensboro! For 20 years the consistency has been unbelievable.
So awesome!!! Service and food was phenomenal will be going back for sure as soon as possible and definitely for all special events.
A true dining experience. Food & staff outstanding. Cannot wait to return again.
Marisol is always exceptional! The Lobster Pierogi appetizer was unbelievably delicious. Oysters Rockefeller were classic. The fried oysters in my salad were perfectly crisp. The red snapper in a saffron, tarragon sauce with shrimp was impeccable! The homemade bread could be a meal by itself. Our waiter Scott attended to all of our needs and patiently answered all of our questions. I recently ate at The Farmer and the Chef in Kinston and it does not compare to Marisol. We are so fortunate to have such an excellent restaurant right here in the triad! Hats off to chef/owner Robin Upson and her awesome staff!
Best crispy duck. Every meal is made from the best ingredients
Pushy, rude, pretentious and over priced.
Wow, what an amazing restaurant with a personal touch. Food is delicious and staff very caring.
Excellent service, food, ambience. A great special occasion place for anyone who loves good food?
Great food! You can tell they have a professional chef! Beautiful and delicious!
Awesome food and service!
I absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone that asks for a fabulous dinner in greensboro.
My new favorite restaurant.
The Food and the service was top notch.
One of the best restaurants in Greensboro and the service is always great to go along with the great food.
This is the next best thing to being in the heart of NOLA. If I closed my eyes, I may have believed I was eating my poboy in the Quarter - it was that good. Authentic NOLA bread even. The crawfish beignets are very good - but dont imagine them like typical beignets - these are more like hushpuppies, but great none the less. And even when you are 100% sure you have no room for dessert, order the bread pudding. Its the best Ive ever had. Really. No doubt. Get it. Get me some, too, please.
Amazing food and outstanding service, what else could you ask for? Ive been dining here for many years and every time I leave I am a happy costumer!!
Superb food and service! If youre looking for the best in Greensboro this is it.
Best restaurant in the Greensboro/High Point area by far... Amazing!!
Really good food, nice service. Its on the pricy side (be ready to pay $35 and up for the entree), however the quality of food and service is worth it
Great food.....great service.
Great food, great ambience, great staff. You have to go here.
One of the best restruants in the state hands down!
A different kind of meal. Ghood food.
Always a pleasure to enjoy the food
First, let me say that the service was excellent. Heather was very personable, very pleasant and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was a bit of a let down. The Marisol was in the top 5 of Romantic restaurants in Greensboro......I hate to break it to them, but no, they are not. They are located in a strip mall type building. Sure, it is in a classier part of town, but we expected more from a supposed romantic atmosphere. The decor was all over the place. Mediterranean stucco style book shelves, French/American art scattered around and American lighthouse pictures clustered together. The effect did not made it feel romantic, more like it was thrown together at the last minute. The tan walls were not the best choice, they did not give a cozy atmosphere. All the reviews raved about the Marisols expensive, but exquisite food palate and their award winning wine. Im not a wine connoisseur, so my best guess is that most people get so drunk, they cant taste the food? We knew going in that we were going to pay close to $150, but we expected at that price to be WOWed by the food.....we were not. Their menu does change frequently, but most of their appetizers stay the same. My husband had the fried Scallops, which he did like. I had the white Truffle Gnocchi, with dijon mustard. To me, it tasted more like mustard soup, due to it was drowned in the mustard cream. For our main courses, I had the Rabbit and my husband had the 8 oz. Filet minion. My rabbit, while tasting like chicken, was for the most part fatty, but ok tasting. Not to spectacular. My husbands steak tasted more like stew meat, not a top-notch, expensive piece of beef. Sorry if this review is harsh, but we wanted a romantic night out and got an over-priced let-down. We are parents of two energetic toddlers, so our night outs are far and few between. Needless to say, we will not be dining at the Marisol again.
5 stars for a 5 Star. Enough said.
Amazing - as always!
This is one place where its true that you get what youre paying for!
Just magnificent food
Incredible
Outstanding!!!
Awesome!!! Great Food!!!
Excellent experience
