First time at Black Dog Coffee House. Had a latte and muffin. Barista asked great questions to make sure I ordered what I wanted. He offered to make suggestions if needed. I liked that there were outlets available along the bartop facing outside. I was able to work on my computer without issue. I will be back again.

Absolutely spectacular place. The coffee is phenomenal and the service is stellar. I will 100 percent be sharing this place with everyone I know. Ethan helped me out and he shared his passion for his work with me. Super remarkable person and created a customer for life. Plus hes really good at latte art!

When I order coffee I expect it to be hot not warmAnd the bagel wasnt even baked right it was cold,And also the bistro that was working there had long hair hanging everywhere not even tie back just what everybody wants in there food some hair! How hard is to make a coffee order and heat up a bagel ?

My absolute favorite coffee shop in town. I love that they are so accurate with their shots and their latte art is always on point. They take a lot of pride in their drinks and all the baristas are beyond friendly and chipper. The atmosphere is great too.My best friend and I are baristas. I was a barista for 10 years so I take my coffee very seriously and Im insanely picky, however I wont complain and I will drink it regardless. The first time we went I was very skeptical. I watched them in horror as they poured my first shot. It was a terrible shot and I knew it was going to be burnt beyond recognition which happens a lot of places I go. I typically just drink a double shot of espresso straight the first time I go somewhere so I can really appreciate their coffee. However, if its not perfect I taste it instantly which some times is a huge let down. I was ready to take it and chug it like a champ but they never gave me the chance. The awesome dude who is always there, grabbed my shot, dumped it and pulled a new one himself even though he was working on other things. Never have I watched someone actually a dump a terrible shot and start over. Everywhere else I go they couldnt care less and just serve whatever comes out but not this guy. He knew and wouldnt let a bad shot go out and the amount of immediate respect I had for this was incomparable. he pulled one of the absolute most beautiful shots Ive ever had and every time we go his shots are perfect and consistent and if he is working I feel confident in ordering just espresso. All of the baristas since then have made awesome coffee also. They do awesome coffee art too. Even in the paper to-go cups. Ive never once had a bad experience here and we use to go a lot. I highly recommend this place to anyone obsessed with perfect coffee.

AMAZING. Were out of towners, and I ordered what I get at my local coffee shop... These guys did it better! So delicious. Met the owner and she was friendly and even suggested another coffee shop in town to try! Very impressed.

Loved the vibe of the coffee shop and people! The fact that they allow their staff to make drinks and they were good drinks speaks miles. There is plenty of coffee, hipster/trendy gifts, and some snacks for a longer day there.

Great coffee options from Stumptown to our local roaster, Revel. Fun seasonal drink menus. Tasting events. Love it.

Love the vibe! I absolutely love the Edison lightbulbs and the cozy and aesthetically pleasing design. They have water glasses sitting out on a coffee table, games, and friendly and helpful staff. I met an old friend there and we both loved it! The atmosphere and the tea we had was a memorable and lovely experience.

This coffee shop instantly reminded me of the coffee shops in Portland Oregon I use to go to. And what do you know they use one of my favorite local coffee brands from Portland, Stumptown. Dog friendly! Knowledgeable, friendly service. Highly recommend checking it out.

One of my favorite coffee places in Billings! The staff are so friendly and helpful. I especially love the hot cocoa. It’s not one of those places that you go to just for the aesthetic, it’s a place that you go to for the drinks and the atmosphere just so happens to be lovely and cool.

Aidan,( the barista working there when I visited) new his stuff. He recommended me all different sorts if brews and teas that would be a good pair with my taste buds. The place is tidy and very well kept. The interior design is very hip and has a cool vibe to it. They have some decent already made meals if youre hungry too. I had the cheese and ham croissant and it was delish. Definitely recommend this place, and would hope to see a promotion in store for the young gentleman with the strange accent.

Love that in Billings you have a coffee place with 3 kinds of Stumptown Coffee varieties for pourover. Probably the best pourover in Billings. However, you must be patient - Ive gone several times under various customer loads and it just takes a while before they get around to starting the pourover...

Black Dog is the cleanest coffee shop I have ever seen. They run a tight ship, have friendly and knowledgeable staff, and have a variety of great coffee. To my knowledge, they are currently the only shop in the state that contracts with Stumptown Coffee from Portland, but have also recently started rotating coffee from a locally renowned roaster. This is a great spot to work remotely or have small meetings, but dont plan to stay for more than a couple hours because of the limited selection of comfy seats. They also make a point to rotate in products from other local companies to pair with coffee. My favorite here is a cortado, or an iced americano in the summer. Black Dog might seem out of the way, but its the only quality third wave coffee shop that isnt downtown.

I came here for coffee this morning- excited to find a locally owned shop. Their coffee is delicious, the staff is ridiculously friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for meetings, studying, or just staring out the window. The have cafe food if you need a snack too!

In terms of being well-rounded, Black Dog is undoubtedly Billings best. Its small, clean, and its modern motif provides the perfect atmosphere for a casual chat over quality espresso. In addition to sourcing its beans from the infamous Stumptown Roasters (based out of Portland, OR), Black Dog uses beans from Billings own Revel Roasters. The dedication to the craft is evident in the baristas, and the owner Mariah is dedicated to providing Billings with an authentic, modern coffee experience.

I stop by this coffee shop more than I care to admit. Mariah and her staff are welcoming and kind. They make the most tasty and beautiful lattes. The service is top notch and they have so much more to offer than coffee. They partner with several other local bakeries and eateries for food, including The Annex and Well Pared. I love to sit outside with my dog and kids too... the kids love the doh dohs and banana bread. I have many favorites, but my standard drink is an almond milk latte with a splash of vanilla... and it is perfectly made every time. I’m so glad to have them in the neighborhood. Definitely give this place a try, if you haven’t already.

Jonah is awesome! For coffee, I get the americano which is really good. They use Stumptown brand. So much better than any City Brew! (Calm down on the City Brew, Billings...please.) Cool new clean atmosphere. Great location for anybody living North of Grand Ave and East of 32nd. The cold brew they sell in bottles is good too.

This was my first visit to this neat little shop. Its a little bit of a hidden gem since its just North of Grand on 24th. Unless you happen to live somewhere up that end of 24th you might never know its there. Anyway, went in this morning and found a fairly busy spot with several groups enjoying coffee and conversations. The seats we sat in were comfy leather club chairs so very conducive to long vists. My first drink was a Cortado which is a shot of espresso with a really nice cream as well as additional frothed milk poured into a nice design on top. It was pretty tasty but is served in a small cocktail type glass and didnt take long for me to drink, leaving needing more so I ordered a mid-size (16 oz. I think) chai on the recommendation of my friend. I had a shot of espresso added since chai doesnt have much if any caffeine and it was really good. I like the taste of their roast much better than the behemoth chain and even the smaller more local one that shall go unnamed and the bonus is that its cheaper too...lol! Ill definitely be back.
