Thanks to 4th Ave. Meat Market I now know what REAL Peppered Bacon tastes like. And yes, I had to have 2 of the Black and Blue burgers. Best butcher in 18 states! Dont forget her pepperoni sticks!!
Went to get some good steaks. They didn’t have any because the owner didn’t want to pay the price for them.... if the price goes up charge a little more. Plan and simple. I guess on to the next meat market
Very friendly staff and a large selection of smoke products including meats cheeses. And almost any kind and cut if meat you want including elk and buffalo.
Place and the people are awesome
Excellent service. Old school; elk head mounted on wall. Meat is processed in house. Some of the best Ive ever had. Some non-meat products: pepper jelly, small assortment of candy, soda.
KINDNESS MATTERS. This is my meat market forever, good local people and good local products. Great service in this challenging time.
It smells like decomposing bodies
Always has been a great place to get Montana meats. Good staff that are caring. Been customer since 2006. Kathleen Brooks & I say hello. And thanks again for everything through the years. Keep up the good work guys.Sincerely, Cora
We have used 4th Avenue for years. They have always done a great job! Would highly recommend them!
Nice selection of meat. 4 stars no fault of them directly, damn covid stuff for that.
Hard to review. The quality of meat is stunning, absolutely incredible. They do a fantastic job. However, the service is godawful. Their customer service is terrible, all the employees seem either uninformed, apathetic, or missing altogether. The atmosphere of the place is uncomfortable. But again, their quality of goods is excellent. They make absolutely amazing meats, they smoke their own cheeses to perfection, their sausages will blow your mind. They just need to up their service game.
If I could put zero stars I would. For beginners I was told 5 to 6 weeks to get sausage made for my elk. I didnt expect it to take 6 MONTHS to receive it I would never have came here if I knew this. The staff is sketchy when I told them this they have a sign now that says min 6 weeks maybe it should be min 5 Months. GOOD RIDINS!!!
First for the somewhat positive comment (from a more historical perspective). I have been a customer of 4th Avenue Meat Market for the last 4 years and have brought them elk, deer and antelope for wild game processing. Generally, the quality of the processed meat and packaging has been good. However, unfortunately that is irrelevant if logistically they are not capable of accepting wild game or at least coherently explaining their acceptance policy so as not to waste customer’s time, which has been my more recent experience in the last two years. Yesterday, I called to find out what I would need to do to drop off a deer for processing and I was told they may or may not accept drop offs and that I could not even get my name put on a list and to call back later, which I did. The second time I called they were still unsure of their acceptance policy and suggested that I stop by the next day, which I did. When I stopped by today, I was told they were still unsure of their acceptance policy and if I called back at 2:00 p.m. that I may be able to get on a list for drop off tomorrow. However, when I called back today at 2:00 p.m. I was told that because of customer complaints a decision was made not to accept any more wild game for processing for the entire week. Needless to say, this was about as bad of customer service as I could expect, especially as a repeat customer. I also had a similar experience last year when I tried to drop off a deer. I am not sure what has changed in the last two years, but I never had these problems before. Also, I was able to drop off an antelope for processing about a month and a half ago, and received a portion of the order, but I am uncertain when or if I will receive the remainder portion, which from my perspective is not that big of deal (relative to my current issue) if the quality is ultimately good. Fortunately, today I was able to effect a functional drop off of my deer at a competitor, which was efficient and took only 5 minutes. My take away is that 4th Avenue Meat Market may still be a viable option for wild game processing during archery season, but definitely is not presently a viable or reliable option during the general firearm deer/elk season. If they do not have the processing capacity to accept wild game drop offs during the general firearm deer/elk season my recommendation would be to simply communicate that, as opposed to wasting the time of customers.
Friendly people, great service
Great service, very friendly people. I highly recommend this business.
I have been going here since 2001. Ever since ownership has changed in the last year things have gone downhill. Service is awful and no one wants to take ownership. This has been the only place I go to get fresh German with cheddar done, but this year took 2 months to find out my meat was done. Turns out the guy that took my order wrote my phone number down wrong and never marked it to include cheddar cheese in my sausage. Very disappointing. I dont mind spending the money but if the service to take the order cannot get things right and no one wants to correct it it, then what is the point. It is sad to say that after all these years I will need to go somewhere else go forward.
Went in to see how the place was. Smelled rank and foul. The inside was very dirty. The fridges were poorly stocked with packaged meats that were way over due. Left early as the smell was overwhelming.
Great people to work for .. Awesome meats. Been getting my specialty meats hear for years
Ive dealt with these folks for many years and wouldnt take any kind of game anywhere else. They go above and beyond EVERY time for us. thanks guys we are customers for life.
The manager took care of us there! We were on a hunting trip which we had no running water and it was in the negatives outside. The meat we brought in had not been rinsed as we had no provisions for it, the stuff was covered in feathers. They did not charge us extra, but we did bring in about 75 lbs of bird meat out of the group. Most butchers would have charged or turned us away.I would have given 5 stars but the guy processing the meat threw a sissy fit about the feathers and cursed and yelled at us. Pretty unprofessional.I will definitely come back next time I hunt in the billings area.
I took a deer to redlodge to get butchered. November 18th, its now December 9th and still no deer. They dont have enough room to hang deer so they do it right away which is ok (but if you order anything like pepper sticks they have to send it to Billings). I didnt find this out until two weeks had passed. If I would have known that Billings was that incompetent I would have just butchered the deer myself. I will make sure that every hunter I know sees how Billings fourth ave meat market operates. The never called me once to let me know it was going to take over three weeks. If they dont make good on this, Ill never use their services again.
Very friendly and great prices
Absolutely the worst place to get your game processed!!!!. It took over a week for them to grind 60 lbs of burger and then they couldnt find it once we went to pick it up. also, they couldnt be bothered to call and let us know when it was done either. Dont bother with this place.
Great Service! Reliable
Still the best uption...
Top of the line awesome people
Love it
Great place!!!
